Had the misfortune to dine here recently on a night they had live music in the outside bar area. Food was awful, service was awful. We were told on arrival that they should not have taken our booking and the kitchen was closing soon so we were rushed. With hindsight we should have left and tried elsewhere. Never again

Been coming here for the past few years and everything was always lovely, today we returned and had drinks, this was a very painful experience waiting almost 20 mins for our drinks to arrive at our table or to even be served and this was not even busy. Our starter came and this was really badly presented pork belly with more fat than pork and barely cooked with zero flavour. The main course was not much better with really burnt chips and over cooked burgers. I am reluctant to return and eat again although we really love this place and the atmosphere it's far from the place it was a few years ago.

It was a surreal experience. After announcing our presence at the very busy bar area we were escorted upstairs to the Marie Celeste. Tables beautifully laid, Christmas decorations up and not a soul around. It was cold. It transpired that the two young men who were run off their feet in the very busy bar area downstairs were also the waiting staff for our lonely table. To be clear, the two men could not have tried any harder or run any faster to try to accommodate our needs, but it was way beyond possible. We helped out as best we could by popping up and down the stairs for drinks and reminders. Then they ran out of beer. Our food eventually arrived, literally as if by magic, by a ghostly figure who seemed to appear from nowhere. Again, to be clear - the food was lovely, tasty and hot. 10/10 for the two young polite, and trying to be helpful, young men who may need to be prescribed with Valium before their next shift. 0/10 for whoever is the management here for allowing this debacle to happen. Fawlty Towers looked professional in comparison.

Visited yesterday for Sunday Roast. The place itself is really nice with lots of character. We ordered two roast beef (£17 each), two roast lamb and one roast chicken. The food was tasty but unfortunately there wasn't much of it, especially the meat portions. My beef was cut so thinly it was almost as if it was packet sliced beef! We ordered a side of cauliflower cheese for £4, this came 5 minutes after the meals, at which point three of us had finished. That was a good thing because it was a minute portion! We weren't asked what we thought of the food throughout the meal. A young lad came over to clear the plates away without speaking to us. After requesting the bill and waiting 15 minutes we eventually went down to the bar to pay the bill. We would go back there for a drink in the bar area but never to eat again.

This could easily have been a five star review. We called in to Bridgnorth, late one Sunday lunchtime, looking for sustenance. We walked in to the magical setting of this bar, in a covered, picturesque courtyard. We were warmly greeted and told we could sit anywhere. We ordered our drinks, and we ordered Sunday lunch from the delicious sounding menu. Unfortunately we were not warned that there would be a very long wait …. (the tables were not all full by any means, so there was no clue that this could happen). We ended up having to wait a full hour for our two meals to arrive… and that was only because we were starting to panic as my husband is diabetic, and really cannot do without food! The food, when it arrived, was indeed lovely and very tasty. My lamb was melt in your mouth tender. The gravy was absolutely delicious, and the veg varied and great quality . ( However we did feel only two roast potatoes each was a bit mean!). All in all this would have been a five star review… if it wasn’t for the interminable wait, which came with no hint of a warning.

What has happened to the place? One meal was wrong, cheese on the beef burger when there was a lactose intolerance is never a good thing. Steak was very over cooked. I asked for a new one. That came also overdone but the refire took ages so I ate some of it. It was massively over priced and the service was woefully slow. Won’t be rushing back any time soon.

Food: Crab and lemon mayonnaise was very tasty, pickled salad on top of it as well. However, the crostini that came with it was not fresh. Chorizo tartlet: you can't really feel any truffle or chorizo as in the menu description, but it's still very tasty. Lovely texture as well. Ham and leek pie: delicious pie, chips and greens. Would highly recommend. Service: Very welcoming and efficient. Starters and main were brought together instead of separately as I asked, but I actually don't mind. Cleanliness: Didn't use the loo, but the whole of the space was sparkling clean!! Atmosphere: I can't fail to point out the music selection which was very much to my liking (00's rock music). There is different music upstairs and downstairs/outside. Space was nicely decorated as well.

Staff spot on,quick and polite,atmosphere was buzing with conversation and laughter so people were relaxed and happy,did not eat but food looked realy good and had a nice couple of pints,will defo visit again to eat eswell.

We booked a table of 4 on a Saturday night at 7pm. We have eaten here lots of times before and have really enjoyed it. On arrival the bar downstairs was buzzing with drinkers. We went upstairs to the restaurant where there was just one table with people eating. We waited and waited and waited…. Helped ourselves to menus and waited some more. No one came to help us and we finally walked out! What has happened to this once vibrant restaurant? The menu was very limited. We just felt they were raking the money in downstairs with drinkers and just couldn’t be bothered with upstairs. We shall not be going again.

Toilets disgusting.tables dirty.didn,t have a meal but makes you wonder about kitchen cleanliness.

Ordered a Rekorderlig with a request of two ice cubes. To my dismay, the drink only arrived with one leading to it being lukewarm at best. Very disappointed and will not be attending again any time soon

The Stable Bar hosted our wedding reception and they were absolutely incredible. The venue looked amazing and the staff were brilliant. They catered for all our needs and the food went down great with all of our guests. I couldn’t recommend this place highly enough for a wedding or party. We will definitely be returning.

This is another of those Dr Who's tardises. Closed pub but beautiful open seating areas. Packed and vibrant. Excellent food and well kept beers. People willing to serve, pleasant and happy. Well done to you and keep up the good work. I'll come here again soon.

Comfortable place with friendly staff and nice food.

Bar is ok. The food is nothing to shout about. Service was poor. I would add this was nothing to do with the lady that served us. There are not enough staff.

Reading other reviews, I think we must have been unlucky. My food was average, at best. The sauce on the crayfish cocktail was sharp and had lots of slices of raw onion, which overwhelmed the fish. My steak and chips were both cold. I opted for the crumble and custard. I had to leave two thirds because there was so little custard and it was dry. On a huge positive our server (Connie, I think) who had only worked there for four days, was a complete joy!

Of the many pubs in Bridgnorth I always find the Stable Bar to be welcoming and with a great atmosphere. There's a choice of places to sit/stand, with an outdoor bar, a separate garden and a few seats indoors. The restaurant upstairs is small, but the food is excellent.

Fantastic Sunday lunch. I had the roast beef, my dining partner, the sea bass with risotto. Risotto can be hit and miss when eating out; if it's not freshly made it can be grim but this was clearly fresh and very good too. First class service, nice surroundings.

Great place, busy environment, attention to detail with presentatiin of my drink was great! Highly recommend!

Really expensive and, last night, unfortunately full of kids, two of whom drank too much and decided to start fighting. I see now why they have security...

When we went the outside bar eas not serving but got drinks from inside and sat with patio heaters good coice of beers wines and spirit It great in the warmer month

A real hidden gem, really nice atmosphere and friendly staff. We had a three course meal which was the nicest we've had in a very long time. The chef really knows what they are doing, we can't wait to go back there again.

My sister booked out this fabulous venue for her wedding reception. Gorgeous place excellent two studio apartments. All Staff were great one guy serving canapés was excellent (didn’t grab his name ) bartenders were great & made cocktails with flourish . Great space to party basically which is what we all did 🤩

Pushy managers. Run ragged staff members (whom I feel sorry for). Packed pub with no social distancing regulations in place other than a flakey track and trace,which people could avoid doing. Overpriced menu Very small portion size for what you pay.

Excellent experience made so much better by the extremely smashing staff. Irish guy made us laugh so friendly. He is a credit to the gaffer. Staff are so very important to any business. We have eaten here before and it was fabulous but wasn't eating only having a drink. Think we probably had the last of the sunshine on the day we sat outside.

Had missed having long lunches in the restaurant here and ventured back with friends for a few drinks ( good Butty Bach) in this cosy area upstairs near the open fire.

As a regular visitor of the stable bar, it has to be said this short visit was as wonderful as always.From the moment you walk off the street you feel safe, the covid procedures in place are about as good as they get. The recent refurb and rejig of the site works and the team are friendly and personable... name drop... Jacob, he was incredibly helpful!Busy times you can expect slow service for drinks, but its understandable. Great service, if a little slow at times, compliments a great, safe setting, good value drinks and food.Well done team Beamans!

We visited the stable bar, after hearing such great reviews about it.We got sat down by a very pushy/full on lady on the front door, who insisted we could only sit outside on a soaking wet bench. Eventually, after asking multiple members of staff they moved us inside onto a tiny table where it was impossible for social distancing to be implemented.After a few rounds, we ordered some gins, without tonic due to having some left over, from Luke, the Irish guy. However when he brought the drinks over, he also brought tonic, and when we said no we did not order that, we do not want to pay an extra £7 for two tonic, well he had a field day with us, he would not take no for answer.It is expensive enough, without having to pay for tonic water, you don’t even need.After this dispute, when wanting to order more drinks, he acted completely oblivious to us, and would rather have had a chat with other colleagues.After having such high hopes for this place, we will not be returning ever again.

Great staff and setting, very average food.Myself and two friends visited the Atruim for lunch with the 50% off included. It’s a beautiful bar and the staff are warm and welcoming and happy to provide all the help needed as my friends had their kids with them and needed a high chair. Great start, although the high chair was found to have stables embedded in it cutting my friends finger while pulling them out to make safe for her 2 year old daughter.Unfortunately the food did not match the surroundings and the excellent staff. I had the beef burger and the brioche bun was huge compared to the burger which just about half filled it, it was also pretty dry and was a tiny portion. One of my friends had the lasagne which was dry and overcooked and also a tiny portion. If we were paying full price for this then i would’ve scored the food even lower. One thing that did make up for the food were the hot chocolate and coffee at the end of the meal which were really good!

Great atmosphere and great pub. Initially had a few problems but these were quickly solved by the manger who was extremely respectful and apologetic. Would advise anyone who’s looking for a few relaxed drinks to come!

Initially had a few issues with drinks, seating etc.. the manager took this on board and has the descency to correct this. Spoke to us on a real level. We appreciate that and it sorted the night out very well. Thank you.

Newly redecorated, beautiful interiors. Simple bar menu but good food. Good value, friendly helpful staff

We visited for drinks. Met by 2 bouncers told we had to use the nhs app (doesn’t work on all phones) hand gel available but not asked to use it. Served at a table. Waitress was a bit abrupt, no menu available and then asked what was it you wanted. Not directed to an online menu either. Drinks were nice though. The decor of the new bit looks rushed. A socket was not attached to the wall and hanging off. Paint not finished properly. Table felt sticky, like it’s varnish was tacky rather then drinks spilled. Lighting was very bright. All in all it was a shame as the old bit was done to a high standard.

For a Monday p.m., I was surprised to find the place full and we had to wait 20 minutes for a table. An attractive outside bar a minute from the High St. Unlike previously, they now serve a range of ‘proper beer’ (i.e. draught real ale) instead of the overpriced ‘kids’ pop’ they used to be restricted to - brownie points no longer lost. The bar now has some excellent ales.I’ve had drinks here often but never eaten and I was unpleasantly surprised at the high price of meals, considering this is not a restaurant and these were mere bar meals. However, when the food eventually came, I have to admit that it was worth the money (yes, even a skinflint like me!). These were not the bog standard bar meal. My lasagne was packed with meat and one of the best I’ve ever had.Unfortunately slow service was an issue and they appeared to be under-staffed. 20 minutes waiting for a table, 15 minutes to be served our first drinks, 45 minutes from order to eating - not good. 2 drinks each and a meal took nearly 2 hours.

Went for drinks, sat at high table with comfy bar stools. Outside bar has been very tastefully redesigned.. its lovely. The Plants, lighting, & trendy design have created a lovely atmosphere. Table service from friendly staff.

Teresa was coming over to us asking if we wanted more drinks and having a laugh and joke with us. A lovely polite waitress, a true asset to the team! Great service, we Weill definitely be back soon!

My self and a couple of friends stopped off for lunch and were pleasantly surprised that the bar had extended the Eat Out To Help Out offer. The service was prompt, cheerful and polite and the staff seemed on top of their game, especially given that the place was busy. The food was excellent and I’d particularly recommend the seafood platter. The cod seemed equally good. Even without the discount it would be good value. Well worth a visit.

Visited with sister- and brother-in-law and had an excellent meal in a great atmosphere, even though it was a Tuesday evening during the pandemic. Highly recommend.

Slick operation, you may have to outside queue to get a table at busy times but it’s by far the best pub in the village. Covid safe, staff on the ball and friendly, local ales and quick service.

Located on Whitburn St, the stable bar offers a relaxing cosmopolitan vibe in a quirky indoor/outdoor setting. In the restaurant they offer a substantial À la carte menu which caters for a variety of diets and tastes or alternatively you can grab a table snack, tapas style, while sampling the busy ambiance with a beverage. The staff were professional and courteous and service was prompt once we’d consumed our drinks.If you head over to the stable bar late Saturday afternoon/early evening you may even catch some musical vibes if the synergy band are in residence.

Excellent - venue, food and service

Difficult time with the pandemic, not helped by having building work done, however social distancing is non existent. There could easily be a one way around system in place but there isn’t.Coffee - absolutely great, strong and good quality. Unfortunately this can’t be said for the food. Ordered pork platter, very dried up and hot sausages literally plonked on top of salad which just wasn’t great quality. Pork pie was too dry to eat. Ordered a side portion of chips, top few were very tasty but just scratchings at the bottom. Irish guy serving was very pleasant and polite but just too busy to complain to.

After ordering two glasses of wine we were served a filthy glass with fresh lipstick marks (not just a smear). When bar manager was approached he was incredibly patronising and insinuated we were lying despite the waitress seeing it herself and supporting our claim. He also proclaimed they were doing the best they could but when asked about Covid measures he didn't specify and became more agitated. He then offered us drinks on the house which was very kind but not the answer to the hygiene and safety measures. When my mom asked why he didn't appear more concerned about hygiene under covid measures he seemed totally disinterested and gave us that go away complaining customer feeling. Our waitress Kelly did more to reassure us than he did as we had also order food and was excellent at her job.

Regular visitors to the stable bar, felt the need to write a review commenting on a particular waitress called Olivia who is always happy and friendly and provides a very efficient friendly service.

Lovely bar, great choice of seating both inside and out. Nice beer, didn't eat but smelt and looked lovely at other tables.

Bereavement is never an easy time for families. The staff at The Stable Bar have been paramount in supporting us through really sad days. Head chef Tay talked us through organising a socially distanced wake (albeit for very few people) and with Joe and everyone else in the kitchen, provided for us on the day beautifully made sandwiches, pork pie and the talk of the day, their sausage rolls. In addition, enough brownies and fruit cake (in the insistence of my sister) for a small army! Luke, Ollie and their team of staff on the bar made sure that we had everything we could have ever wished for on the day, attending to our every need and cocktail!Not just on the day, but in the days leading up to the funeral, the whole team here has made sure that my Dad feels as though he has somewhere he can visit on his own in the future and be made to feel so welcome. Thank you everyone. So much appreciated

Myself and a few friends had a lovely evening at the stable bar / atrium last night. The food was absolutely fantastic and I couldn’t fault the table service. Polite & friendly staff. Would highly recommend visiting the stable bar you won’t be disappointed!!!

Found this beautiful spot by chance on a day trip with the family. Excellent food, service, and the place itself is set in stunning scenery. Covid friendly, feels very safe and looked after. Very highly rated. Will definitely be coming again soon.

After visiting the stable bar with a few of my friends I’m absolutely shocked by the level of rudeness of one or two of the staff. In particularly the Irish guy I think his name is Luke? He spoke so rudely to me and my friends when we had asked him a simple question and then witnessed him be complete and utterly Unprofessional and rude to another group of individuals on a different table. This has really affected our perspective on The Stable Bar and none of us will not be recommending it to anybody nor returning.

We stopped in for lunch today, as we had heard really good things. Unfortunately there were a number of issues. San Miguel was warm. Literally tepid. The server got our order totally wrong. The chips were so overcooked you couldn’t get your fork in them. We had to ask for condiments and cutlery 3 times. The cutlery wasn’t clean. The staff were really pleasant, and friendly, but spent the whole time chatting and drinking espresso. I really hope this was a one-off, as we were really looking forward to it.

We are here as I type this and there is one member of staff in particular who is rude. He gives people dirty looks, gets rude and funny with you if you ask about a price, he said ‘what, do you want me to take it away from you?’ And continued to take the glass off the table and was giving us stern looks because of it. Every time we come here, he is just obnoxious and over the top in rudeness.

Excellent service from Caitlin & staff....food cooked perfect..fish platter to die for...calamari cooked perfectly. Well done Caitlin.

Great food as usual and nice atmosphere. However there was little (if any!) awareness to COVID-19. We had to fill a track and trace form out at the start but that was it. There was no table wiping, none of the staff wore masks and there was no sanitation. Our cutlery was put onto an outside bench, that hadn’t been wiped. Not that I saw anyway. Hmmm, if you are worried about the virus, this maybe isn’t the place for you.

Great food, great service will definitely recommend and try again, went around 4pm on a Saturday no problem getting a table, cleaning in operation continually due to covid-19

We visited The Stable Bar on a Sunday afternoon for a drink, it was my first visit and I was impressed with the layout a good place to have a drink if in Bridgnorth.

Great atmosphere, friendly atmosphere and tasty food.

Halloumi burger and Beamans pork platter ordered. Neither disappointed. Good local beer. Great value for money.

Really good food in a lovely environment. The staff are all very friendly and attentive. Would highly recommend and will definitely return. Had the Bridgnorth Burger which was lovely! Chips were the best I've had out in a while, like proper homemade chips. 😊

Just want to thank Annabelle at the Stables for sorting a last minute gathering (sociably distanced) for my friends and family. The whole thing was very last minute and she sorted it all seamlessly, catering for all my needs. The secret garden is the perfect location and the staff were excellent throughout the night. Food was lovely as always from the Beamans and they catered for Vegan and Gluten free friends.

Great addition to Bridgnorth. We are there last week and felt totally safe with distance yet still a lovely atmosphere. Lovely friendly staff, good background music and excellent bar food.

Nice polite welcome by the lady at the entrance, who then showed us to a table. Food was acceptable but not great given the small menu and the price. Chicken goujons were over cooked as were the hand cut chips, of which there was a small handful. Sausage rolls on the pork platter had far too much pastry although the filling was very tasty as was the scotch egg. The waiter that served us was unable to tell us the waiting time for food and didn't offer to find out, after commenting he hadn't been into the kitchen so wasn't aware how busy it was

Another great afternoon in the Stable Bar

Spent around 5 hours there and never been to Bridgnorth before. Made me feel at home, the Irish barman and Caitlyn happily served us and gave us great banter. ESPECIALLY CAITLIN

Have been here a few times before lockdown so not quite sure what has happened in the kitchen but the food was absolutely terrible, complained to the waitress and she took my details but we won’t be going back there again.Awful value for money, cost over £80 for lunch and was a total waste of money, need to change the chef and the chip oil whilst you are at it!!!

Since coronavirus struck and lockdown has been eased this place has been the best place to go to! So efficient with sanitiser and one way systems! The staff have been top class and I will definitely be returning again!
