The St Georges Tavern, Camberwell in Southwark

Tried to go here at 8.30 on a Friday night and it is closed for no reason. Lights on, tvs going , but no one there and locked. Was quite eerie

Run by a new manager 'Tony', and his visibly doing an awesome job. Had a good night this weekend.

Drink was a great price for London, friendly service and decorated nicely. Cosy vibe.

Visited this place which was serving latin American food. It was great 👍🏻 definitely recommended.

One of the best pubs in Camberwell. A hidden gem!

This pub is rented, the people that rent it are very rude and disrespectful. The owner of the pub, Francis, is also again very rude and disrespectful. I would not come here, bad service, bad food quality, high food price, bad atmosphere.

Update: Since I posted the above, multiple other reviewers called me a liar, so I'll repeat, for the record, that on the two occasions I tried to check out the new place in the neighbourhood, it was closed without an explanation. I didn't say anything else negative about the place, but I can't say anything positive either until I actually find it open once. It's a shame that people feel the need to call people liars because their experiences of a place didn't match. ----Original review---- I would have loved to try this place this Friday night as it's in our neighbourhood, but it was closed at 20:30 without explanation. It's a shame. Then I visited again at 3pm on a Saturday - it was closed again. Both times it should have been open according to their own opening hours.

Very nice home. Professionnal and friendly staff. Very good food. The plus : they can speak French.

I visit St George's on most days and miss it when I'm not there. It's always open and there is always a warm welcome provided from the staff. Gábor is a serial liar and leaves bad reviews around London for his own personal amusement.

Classy place. Fair prices. All you can ask for. Gabor is talking like the local moaner he is well known to be.

Dog place I recommend nobody to eat there .. unfortunately the management is trash disrespectful and they don't pay there supplies at all

Cracking little pub that in my opinion serves the best pint of Guinness south of the river.

superb spot for good pints and pool. Handy travel route between Old Kent and Peckham.

Rough and ready but fine. It's more like how pubs were when I was growing up. People are very friendly.

A truly local pub, not a yuppified gastrononsense pub but a place where you can hang out with your neighbors, or meet new friends.
