The Square in Cornwall, Isles of Scilly

Nice restaurant with friendly staff and good value food. You can tell they put effort into their food. I feel bad saying this as I spend a lot of time in Italy so I have high expectations that are hard to meet in the UK, let alone a small Cornish village, but the pizza lacked flavour. They need to add salt, garlic and anchovies to their tomato pizza-sauce (assuming they make it themselves). The mozzarella tasted somewhat fake too. The whole experience reminded me of when I used to microwave cheese in a pitta bread as a kid, whilst nice it lacked flavour. I mean it’s not hard to make a tasty pizza. Even my mate Khalid makes a decent pizza from scratch.

Tasty pizzas, you can choose from a creative menu or pick your own toppings. Also had brownies and cakes to choose from. It was open on Bank Holiday Monday evening which we were grateful for, and pizzas ready quickly! A few bistro chairs outside but mainly take away.

Delicious, quick and inexpensive! We stopped on our way to Land's End for a quick meal and were dreading there wouldn't be any healthy options or anything cool to eat on such heat! And then we found The square. I had a small salad box with delicious potato salad, leaves, tomato, edamame beans and hummus and my husband had a salad roll (he wouldn't stop raving about how tasty the bread was!). Definitely recommend it!

Just missed breakfast cut off unfortunately, so only cold salad or pastries from bakery next door. Very nice pastie and decent latte too.

Favourite place to grab food & coffee! Nothing beats it’s. The salads are unbelievable with so many options. Plus the pizzas and dirty fries are unbeatable with great portions! Highly recommend.

First time coming to the square and it was absolutely amazing food and service, beautifully made and absolutely delicious 😋 some of the best take out I've ever had and huge portions! didn't have to wait long at all, very kind staff, we will 1000% be back soon!

One of the worst pizza I've ever had, and hilariously one of the most expensive Thick raw crust although it does look pretty, the ingredients sourced from a wholesaler which gives gives you an artificial tasteless journey through pizza in England. My first review ever because bad pizza annoys me and it really was awful....29 quid for 2😭😭😭😭

Popped in to get a roll made up for lunch and somehow ended up walking out with a £4 ham bap, that would cost me £1.20 from the bakery at home for the exact same. The rest of the food was pricey. Spent over £20 on 2 made-up rolls, a small chicken pie and a brownie.

It’s been 2 years since I was here last and the food was as good if not better can’t believe the pizzas taste exactly the same! The loaded fries are a must. Friendly staff too 😊

Had lunch of a Salad box. Good selection of items and lady who served me was aware of allergies and ingredients of each item. No gluten free rolls or other items though. Some seating outside which is in shade at lunchtime.

Had the larger pulled pork pizza . Was really tasty and just enough for 1 adult . Had a long wait ,but it was extremely busy as most other shops shut on the Monday. Staff very friendly aswell

We’ve eaten here several times on previous stays in the area and enjoyed it. This time we tried the breakfast boxes. Freshly cooked, high quality and great value - they were really tasty. We took them down to Cape Cornwall and watched the waves whilst eating - perfect!

A standard pizza is decent but I think slightly overpriced. The fries pizza is really high calories and can feed two adults for sure.

I was not expecting to have some of the best pizza of my life in Cornwall, but it happened! Wow this pizza is so delicious. I am very grateful to have had a month staying outside of St. Just - some of my favorite days were walking with my partner the 2+ miles into St. Just, eating this delicious pizza, getting staples in the little grocery and walking down to the water before the walk back to our tent. Thanks for feeding us! My favorite pizzas were the salmon one and the one with grapes and blue cheese! 🤤

Genuinely my favourite stop off for lunch from my trip - an excellent selection of hot and cold food, chicken burger to die for with all fresh ingredients at a great price, friendly staff and a very central location to the town. I will definitely return!

We had take-away roast dinner for the first time today,(3 roast beef and 1 nut roast) absolutely delicious! Great quality and quantity. So much we’ll have the rest after the match! (Unless Newcastle lose 😕!)

Breakfast box was amazing. Well worth it

They have recently got new owners and although the staff were extremely pleasant I’m sorry to say the food has gone downhill rapidly, breakfast has doubled in price and is a fraction of the quality, no beans , mushrooms were old and nasty, sausages were possibly the worst I’ve ever tasted, bacon was so hard not even the dog could chew it, hash browns were cheap and nasty and the egg was raw ontop, but the tomato was nice, Unfortunately for that kinda money I won’t be recommending or returning

What a gem! Had some banging breakfast baps and coffee (black pudding was really tasty) on our way to the rock climbing venue, and just made it back the same day for some pizzas and sides. Definitely recommend the spiced battered broccoli. Delicious food and really friendly staff. Will stop here every time when climbing in Cornwall!

Miss placed my order, customer care is as much about sorting problems as getting it right and they were great. Sorted me ASAP and gave us lovely piece of cake to apologise. The pizza, cheesy fries and salad was excellent and was too much for 2 people. Good value for really good food and lovely service.

Sitting outside this lovely cafe and eating the scummiest of salads - just delicious and great value…you chose what you would like and it is accompanied by smoked salmon or ham or cheese or chicken - then topped with a dressing of your choice (like, chilli and mango 😍). Hubby is having a steak sandwich that’s he says is delicious! Highly recommend!

Wonderful place to choose a huge variety of salads, home cooked food and amazing pizzas made to perfection and ofcourse the staff are delightful. So friendly and polite. They and the food will make you want to go back for more. You really dont want to miss out.

If your coming through St just this place is a must properly cooked home comfort food, only do pizzas on Friday and Saturday evenings at the moment, they do a range of salad, sandwiches, jacket potatos, and different dishes most lunch times and a breakfast in a box to take away.

The Square in St Just is an absolute must visit. Pizzas 🍕are delicious, cakes fantastic and breakfast in a box was just what we needed. Staff were so very pleasant and helpful. Loved everything about this little gem 💎

We were staying locally and were hoping to get pizzas when we arrived but unfortunately they were not taking any more orders (this was at 7:30, pizzas advertised 4-8). Appreciated the honesty as better they do a good job then take orders for the sake of it but just something to be aware of if you’re planning to visit. Had breakfast in the morning instead, 2x breakfast boxes. Really tasty and well cooked, could’ve done with a bigger portion of beans. We didn’t want tea or coffee (part of the breakfast box) but were allowed to choose a cold drink instead which we hadn’t expected and was very welcome.

We ordered a couple of House Classic Pizzas. Great to be able to choose from a wide range of toppings. Pizzas were ready to takeaway exactly when promised and tasted fantastic. Staff were very friendly. Would definitely order from here again.

So so impressed with this lovely little cafe and pizza place! The vegan options were particularly brilliant - loads of them and the two we had were incredible! The jack fruit BBQ pizza and the flapjack were some of the best vegan foods I’d had in a long time!! The mother in law tells me that her meat pizza was also amazing. The only thing that bettered the food was the service. Such lovely helpful and friendly staff. Couldn’t recommend highly enough!

It is not obvious that the Square is a coffee shop thought it was a Pizza place at first. COVID safe and staff aware of precautions, lovely welcome and great service with lovely cake. Courgette and Avocado yum yum.

We visited this little cafe twice whilst in the area recently - really friendly staff, lovely cakes and a great, unusual home-made menu - we tried the Feta and Spinach Frittata - lovely! Definitely recommend 🙂

What a great find, I only needed a flat white, which was excellent. The sumptous array of food set out before you is mouth watering and good value for money. Will stop here to eat at some point for sure

Lovely pizza! Best we’ve had in a long time! My partner had the vegan one and said it was really good. We also got two sides of fries which were huge but yummy :) They even had some vegan cakes when we went in to collect which was a nice surprise! Staff are also really friendly and polite. Highly recommend!

I am a true pizza fanatic and very fussy with my pizzas so a risky act trying new ones. However I was not dissappointed. It was so delicious and fresh with a great tomato sauce that was so fresh too. Friendly service and at a very reasonable price too. We also had a sandwich from there which again was great and packed with filling on very fresh bread. Gutted as going back to St Just in November but not over a Friday or Saturday night so won't get the chance to have their pizza again.

We got a take out of 4 pizzas and some chips. All 4 pizzas were lovely!! Everyone was very happy and I was extremely impressed with the excellent customer service. Thank you! Would highly recommend to all.

Nice pizza takeaway place. There’s not a huge choice of pizzas but there are options to customise them. The pizza is good, the dough could be a little thinner for my liking. You can just pop in and order the pizza but they prefer if you can give them a ring and order in advance, which is fine.

We are so glad we found this gem! We have to have pizzas from here, they are amazing. The staff are friendly and polite, a real pleasure to deal with. It's clean and tidy. You have to wait for the pizzas as they are cooked from scratch, but they tell you what time they will be ready. We have never had to wait any longer. Can't wait to have another pepperoni!Excellent!!!!!

Regarding takeaway pizza service- Please don't take this as a particularly negative review but hear me out. We haven't eaten here because we never actually got the chance. The place is put to people and presents itself as somewhere that does takeaway pizzas, what they don't tell you is you need to preorder during the day for them to make them. We later found out that they advertise this on social media, but even on there they advise you can pop in or ring to order. We drove over and were told we couldn't order well within thier opening hours. Seems an odd way of running a takeaway service. That being said, the pizzas are probably very good, people seen to like them. We were just gutted we couldn't! Just a constructive criticism that the owners could address! 😊

We have had amazing baps and pizzas from The Square this holiday. Unfortunately we didn’t check our pizzas last night before driving back to Sennen where we are staying and my daughters veggie pizza was a Cornish Blue instead! Luckily still vegetarian and she was able to eat some of it. Other than that the pizzas were amazing.

We had delicious pizza that I didn't had in long time. It's really tasty and actually we had 2 days in row because we just couldn't stop. Also delicious cakes. Fair price and great quality.

The square is a fab place for salads, sandwiches or daily specials which are consistently good value and really tasty! I love their salad boxes and their cakes are very good too. In the evenings, they fire up the pizza oven and hand make fantastic pizzas to order. I've never had a pizza that wasn't delicious from here and again, they do really great value specials! The staff in the square are fab...always happy and friendly... especially Angie who runs the place!

To have a place like this serving such a variety of lunch options everyday makes St Just very lucky. The wood fired pizzas are great; I wish they served them every evening. The takeaway Sunday Roasts are very good value and a brilliant alternative to going out for lunch.

The girls are always very pleasant & happy to help. This place is my No1 place for freshly made pizza in Penwith 👍🏼 keep it up guys.

Really cheap cake and coffee, and very good too! Had the brownie and the coffee cake and two large coffees all for under £12! Xx

During a mammoth bike ride I stumbled upon this place and they made me a bap to order with great coffee and a coke. Friendly staff, great food, lovely location in the village centre and a real find. I'll make a point of visiting again.

Good Carraro coffee, pleasant staff. We only had coffee but the cakes & baguettes looked good. Overheard a customer picking up fresh cooked pizza (repeated order) being very complimentary.

I've eaten pizzas and vegan pizzas at several places, including different restaurants in UK. And this cozy little shop at a corner of the world offers hands-down the best pizza (not just best vegan pizza, but best pizza!) in the world.staff are super friendly as well. talked to one of them and she told me that they actually sourced for a lot of different vegan cheese before finding this current one that they use that actually melts. She's right! ive had vegan cheese before but none quite melt as the one they have on their pizza. the pizza was so good i ordered one right after wolfing down a slice.they also have salad boxes, and they are simply generous with the portions. they weren't kidding when they told me they will stuff as much as they can inside the box. they also use vegan mayo for all their dishes cause, why not, since it's so delicious anyway!would absolutely love to eat the pizzas again omigosh.

Stayed for a week in St Just and used the Square for breakfast rolls and evening Pizzas. Good value and friendly service. Food is good and and well recommended

On whistle stop around the coast we stopped at St Just for a bite to eat. Order four large baps which were very nice and had decent fillings in. Staff were pleasant and friendly. Highly recommended.

Wat een surprise onderweg . Bij toeval stop je in dit dorp en tref je dit zaakje aan. De route van lands end naar St Ives is prachtig te noemen en even stoppen in St Just is dan leuk. Een lekkere box met een scala aan keuze mogelijkheden is erg lekker. Verse bladgroente , lekkere tonijn , feta, paprika , aardappelsalade etc. Waaaughh, vers en smakelijk . Het ijsje was ook zeer de moeite . Goed schepijs en gigantische bollen op een hoorntje. Aanrader !

This place is a little gem. You can buy salad boxes with your own choice of ingredients. All delicious. There is a proper pizza oven. Lovely breakfast baps. Take away coffee. And you can even take away a roast on sundays. I am staying with family very close to st just and find this the best type of takeaway.

The quality of the food and service in this cafe is not in doubt. The two young female servers were very pleasant and worked hard to provide a good service which they did. You will get good food and service here. I think the cafe is good enough to take it to the next level using china crockery and perhaps looking to move into larger premises to offer indoor seating for our temperemental British weather. That might be in the longer term plans but in the meantime this place works as it is.

We visited this deli because i had researched on Trip Advisor where to eat in the local area and we liked the sound of the salad boxes. My husband and I both had a huge box of salad for £5.50 each. Lots of variety and you choose a protein to go with it. We opted for felafel. Was so nice to eat something healthy after camping and lots of bbqs. We took our salads to Cape Cornwall and enjoyed them taking in the stunning views.

Excellent veggie pizzas and delicious salad to take away. Saturday evening was a bit busy so order a little while in advance of when you want to eat. A friendly and welcoming atmosphere, we will be back to try the ice cream.

Cheap, fresh salad put in a box, ideal for picnics. Lots to choose from and price includes a topping such as prawns, meat, felafels and others, too many to list.

Had heard good things through the grapevine about the pizza here and it was all true! Perfect for grabbing a couple to takeaway and heading out to Cape Cornwall at sunset...

We had pizzas one evening to take back to our holiday cottage - a nice change from cooking. We called in for a menu, the staff were really helpful and said we could ring up and order our pizza for a specific time if we wanted to. So we ordered our pizzas for 7.45pm, and when we turned up shortly before - sure enough they were in the oven and just being taken out! I have eaten a lot of pizzas over the years, and some great ones, but these are the best I can remember. They were so fresh, not overcooked, and the base was so light. Lovely friendly staff. The rest of the food looks lovely - didn't have time to try but we will next year when we return! And will definitely be ordering pizza more than once! Good value too. Really hope this business continues to flourish.

Excellent home made cakes, fresh crab sandwiches, Pizzas and much more. Throughly recommend. This is a small cafe with just a couple of tables on the pavement - so you may have to have a take-away or just go and sit in the the square on he wall and eat. Well worth it.

The pizzas from this place are awesome! And their lunchtime rolls are large and generously filled. Try the Jaffa Cake cake!

I have been treating myself to a lunchtime snack once a week now since it opened. The staff are great, really friendly. The cakes are to die for. Also, they cater for real fusspots like me, who is not a Vegan, but often likes to try out Vegan snacks. The beetroot falafels are to die for. Thank you all for being there. Rosiexx

We came way late on a Sunday afternoon and noticed signs about vegan cake in the window. We walked in and expected the usual lack lustre pointing to some dried up flapjack or something and instead what we got was a whole world different. Such lovely and friendly staff who seemed excited to tell us about the offerings. We immediately bought two cakes, one that was like an apricot bakewell sans the icing and another slice which was like a black currant crumble. As our goods were packaged up the lady in the kitchen asked if we were interested in anything savoury. Our eyes widened as we were like, yep what do you have?! And she showed us this epic looking jackfruit and mushroom pie she had been serving as part of their, wait for it, TAKEAWAY SUNDAY DINNER! They do a takeaway Sunday dinner omg. My partner asked how it came and she said about the veg etc but he asked could she make it up with some gravy and she made him some pie and gravy in a box to takeaway! He was sooooo happy. Especially as warrens next door had ran out of vegan pasties so he would have been so grumpy with no food! We went on our way and enjoyed the delicious vegan food with a view at cape cornwall down the road. Quite honestly we can’t wait to return to see what else they have. Such lovely people actually excited to show you their vegan stuff. What a gem
