Had a big family meal for my daughters birthday and I can't fault the service we had from kyia and the kitchen team for the hospitality we was a group of 19 of us at very short notice and the pub was really busy. So I'd like to thank the staff for the hard work they put in. Me and my family will definitely return

Came here for lunch and meet up with in-laws, we booked an earlier table, we arrived and went to bar, lent on it and when I pulled my forearms away I thought I was going to tear my skin away the surface was that sticky, the barmaid who gave the impression she didn’t want to be there got our wine bottle order wrong twice claiming all she heard was “pinot Grigio “ not piñon Grigio rose” , what twice!? Went to table and for god’s sake also sticky, I don’t know what they use to clean but it must be a mixture of water and glue, no surface, if cleaned properly should leave a sticky residue, it’s not difficult! I have to say that for the price point the food was fine, service needs a lot of attention. The exterior of the premises needs an overhaul , rotten and unpainted windows just show a shoddy service and lack of care, in the days where it’s difficult running a public house you should, at the very least make it look attractive to potential new customers, but no it was a we don’t care attitude, and get some staff who actually want to work and please customers, not look at you as if you are asking for too much, it’s a drink and food, not exactly difficult, but it clearly was for the bar staff Will not be going back unless I have to to meet the in-laws Sort it out please

Great food, always hot and well cooked. Comfortable seating and friendly staff. I havent given it 5 stars as I've visited a few times this summer and the ladies toilet seats are all broken and not secure, which is dangerous and unsafe. How long can simple fixes take.

Absolute Stars Excellent evening at The Spy tonight, an engagement party for 40 plus people. Understandably busy for a Saturday night, plus there was another band in the other bar, staff ensured all punters were served in a timely manner. Can only sincerely thank Kyia and Cameron. You were both brilliant. We had ordered food to come out at a specific time, and the chef, Ryan, ensured it all happened as planned. It was a very busy evening for the team, but they were all superb. We can't fault the evening. Absolute Stars!. All of them. Thank you all for making our evening special.

Visited the pub today because of the £5 burgers, which were so much better than expected. It was extremely busy when we arrived, yet the staff thrived despite the large amount of food and drink orders. We also didn't wait too long for food, and when it came we weren't disappointed. Will be visiting again!

Decent if you just want a quiet pint with your friends however the customer service is far from good. It’s almost like it’s a chore to be served, once you are served it is fine. PS - I saw a rat behind the kitchen while i was in the pub garden.

absolutely fantastic service throughout the time there, especially as this was a work meal so quite a few of us there and england was playing so the staff definitely had a lot going on that night. excellent menu variety and really tasty food. they have food deals on during the week aswell and for a good price. would highly recommend spyglass and kettle and will definitely be going again

I recently met up here with some friends from work for dinner and drinks while watching the Euros, and it was fantastic. The atmosphere was lively, making it a great spot for an evening out. The menu had a variety of options at affordable prices, so everyone found something they liked. Thank you to the staff who did an amazing job accommodating our group of 10+ people and handled all our requests perfectly. I would highly recommend this place to friends and family… Definitely worth a visit!

Food came out after waiting 45+ minutes not the first time this has happened the food was not as good as other green king pubs it was warm but not hot the onion rings where soggy and had to wait for mine to be brought out after my burger arrived

I bring my Mum to the Spyglass most Thursdays. The food is lovely and very affordable. My Mum has 2 courses for just £5.99! The staff really do go the extra mile. Highly recommend.

Local and friendly pub. The staff are welcoming and there are lots of well-organised events taking place during the week and at different times of the year. The kitchen puts out some very tasty food and the bar is always well stocked with favourites. Televisions are conveniently situated for viewing major sports tournaments and there is a real family and friends atmosphere. Would rate this as one of the best GK pubs in Medway and more low key and personalised rather than Cricketers Rainham. The bar staff always make you feel very welcome and have time for conversation and get drinks orders right.

Lately every time we come for Wednesday quiz night there is a huge delay in food, tonight being 1.5hrs. Nobody told us there was a wait on food until we asked 45 mins after ordering. Staff don’t seem fussed and are quite rude. After this happening for the 5th time I don’t think I will bother coming again sadly as it seems to have gone really downhill. They say they are understaffed but when the pub is less than half empty and there are four employees on front house this shocks me. Management need a big re-think and to get a lot of improvements done, especially when food has just about been edible lately and with children’s orders coming out with about 5 chips on the plate which is disappointing.

We came in for lunch on a Monday afternoon. It was very quiet. We ordered food through the app, and drinks at the bar as some were not included in the app menu. When we approached the bar to ask a question about the menu, two members of staff blankly walked away when being approached. After waiting for around 30 mins we asked for an update on our food twice. When it arrived after 45 mins we were only then told there was a delay on all food being served, but no real explanation or apology was given. The food was mostly edible, but wouldn’t say it was enjoyable at all. It obviously was reheated, but still had time for some elements to go cold again. While I understand there was a known delay, the overall attitude and approach from all of the staff we encountered was disappointing. They didn’t seem interested, and were un phased by the low quality of their food and their service today. If I ever visit again, I very much hope for a vast improvement on todays’ experience, as the beautiful setting offers so much potential for a nice afternoon.

We come here every Wednesday for quiz night and cheap food. We always get a nice warm welcome from Annette. She is a credit to the pub.

A big group of 9 adults and 6 children of us came for a drink, lunch and desserts. The service was quick and the food was lovely, everybody including the children cleared their plates. Reasonably priced and friendly staff.

This pub is situated in Wigmore near Rainham, Kent. It has a large car park with spaces for wheelchair users and good access. Inside there are two defined areas, one for dining and the other for mostly drinkers. There are TVs situated throughout showing sports but this is not intrusive. There is a good range of drinks and some very competitive prices in cocktails and shots. Food wise, there are various menus including one for kids and a special seniors menu where you can get a two course meal for just £5.49. On the main menu there is also a section of "pub classics" where you can get 2 meals for £11.49. There is a similar offer on their Sunday roast. The pub has a nice vibe, friendly etc. The lady behind the bar was friendly,lively and had a good rapport with everyone. They really needed someone to help her as she was run off her feet. Our food came up in good time and was hot and well cooked. We were checked upon so they knew when we were ready for our next course. All in all a pleasant experience and I would be happy to go back.

Rude Staff, Take ages to serve you drinks and blatantly ignore you. Food is nice, but poorly presented with little effort.

Booked the room with Pool Tables as we had a booking of 20 people, children and adults. Ordered food, came out within 15 minutes of ordering. Cheap food and drink. Kids were entertained, being able to play pool and adults equally entertained as the football was on the tv. Lovely bite to eat out!

A venue usually needs to be pretty special to get 5 🌟 from me, however although the meal was good the customer service was excellent. It was certainly service with a smile. Every member of staff that I spoke to were polite and cheery. Food is very good value for money and tasty. There is live music every so often and all in all a good atmosphere.

We were here for a private party. Had a lovely time, the staff were lovely apart from one who shouted at us when we asked for a pot of tea as she didn't have any clean cups or teapots. She brought a pot over once she had managed to wash up! The drinks were very good with a fantastic choice. The food was excellent and very reasonable The area we was in was cold but the manager gave us an electric heater. The radiator was disconnected. Greene king need to rectify this. Overall a very enjoyable evening. The beauty & The Beast shots were delicious 😋.

Came here a few weeks ago for a little bite and game of pool with my partner, was a lovely place with beautiful food. The staff was also amazing, met bartender called Charlie there who helped us out with the pool table and joined in with our banter, he has great spirit and character. All the staff was polite, over all was a great pleaseure and certainly will be returning in future :) Thank you Charlie and team for a enjoyable time.

Had a great first visit at this local hidden gem. The food was above average for a chain pub and the service in general was amazing. The staff were friendly and made me feel welcome. Charlie (the bar person) made my experience extra special! Took my drinks over to my table for me. Overheard him giving an elderly couple some advice on saving money when they order wine. What a guy! Absolutely the WORST lunch out EVER!!! Just after ordering lunch for us plus Mum and 98 year old Dad at a reserved table and they filled the place with a queue of people wanting tickets for a future event - we have just eaten our meals surrounded by masses of people through the restaurant, noise levels off the scale and service trying to battle through the crowds. Haven't been here since my children were small and will never be coming back again!!!!

Haven't eaten here yet. However, we are very quickly becoming regulars. Mel is a superstar. You need a star rating just for her!!! We were here the last 2 weekends in a row and we don't usually go out. However we had such a good time here, we made a point to come back a second week in a row. This weekend there was a live band, after seeing the Facebook post, I wasn't too bothered, but boy was I wrong. They were fantastic, the atmosphere was electric. All I am waiting for now is a bit of karaoke ;) 110% recommend.

Ordered food and waited an hour and a half. Turns out sometimes they just forget to actually prepare the food got a refund and left. Bar persons are very nice though.

The food was not as hot as it normally is but the young lad was quick to get it replaced and we just love the apple Crumble, we always have good service.

There's was only our birthday party in there:asked if the music could be Turned down a bit & was told :IF WE DIDNT LIKE LEAVE: The girl has lost alot custom :disgusting behaviour :the girl has made this place look very bad

Nice food. Tried this on Groupon and sadly did I not have a voucher for it, I would have left as it took so long to even be acknowledged while waiting at the bar. The starter we ordered was never brought out (they did then refund that). The meal however was ok.

Rubbish everytime we go it's basically empty and it's a 45min wait for food. As an employee of Greene King I know food doesn't take this long.
