Now had three visits for a quick bite over lunchtime and not been once disappointed. Tasty BLT ... the bread, mayo, lots of back bacon and presentation are hotel standard. and the huge breakfast on a bun with black pudding is enormous and well worth the money if you can eat so much for lunch and still get on with the afternoon jobs. Passed the Spring for years with its white light entrance on the way home from Wakefield and never realized that there was a car park for customers behind. Also saw some great cakes and desserts.... even gluten free but too full after a good lunch. Plus, a very nice welcome from the team taking orders. Good coffee and tea choices and lactose free milk. Well impressed.

This place really is fantastic, a wonderful establishment run by wonderful people who can't do enough to help! The food and drinks are amazing and always freshly made. Always worth popping your head in the door for a drink and a browse of what they have in with the shop or what they have on!

Absolutely fabulous place! The staff are fantastic, helpful nothing was too much to ask, Cath and Joyce were a joy to talk to. The cakes are you die for, all home made and decent size pieces for the price. The food was delicious, my husband (who is often not easily pleased) loved the food and said it was the best blt he's had in a long time, and he's wanting are return trip soon. For a non profit cafe they do an amazing job, and put back into the community. Please visit this place, you will not be disappointed with the warm welcome and delicious food, at a very respectful price.

The Spring is a wonderful little find. Food is exceptionally good with service to match. There is outdoor seating as well as a spacious indoor dining area that is part charity shop. You can pay by cash or card in the cafe and shop. All staff are helpful and welcoming. Reservations can also be made and on hot days if wanting a table outside it is probably best to do as this appears to be popular with locals.

Visited the Spring last week for Christmas dinner with a group of friends and thoroughly enjoyed it.The standard was excellent as usual, what a great job they all do.We've paid a lot more money at other places and not had this standard. Would really like to keep this place a secret but feel we should really sing their praises as they deserve it. Keep it up !

This place is the most amazing charity cafe ever!!!! The food is fresh, local and home cooked by such lovely staff. The food is served by volunteers that are warm and welcoming. No words on trip advisor can tell you about this place apart from you MUST VISIT IT. Only not between 12:30 and 1:00. That's my time slot and I like my table. However, please try it and try the up and coming home cooked Christmas dinner.

I have been in here a few times and always come away with a few house hold picture's and plates. They sell a lot of donated second hand clothes which are donated. I alway use them when ever I want a good old clear out of clothes as it is a local charity. They also sells homemade meals, tea or coffee and is very popular with the locals.

An excellent place for light lunch. ( and a full English dinner ) We are regulars here on our own and with grand children. They come prepared after emptying their money boxes. It's their favourite place. They freely browse the books, the cuddly toys and games section. They can order their meal at the counter, makes them feel very grown up. They have amazing selection of cakes - homemade and delicious. It's especially nice to visit when you know it's to help the ' putting back ' into the community. I recommend this place to all my friends. Call in on your way into Wakefield for a light lunch, It won't break the bank.

The Spring is run mainly by volunteers and housed in a church hall. The venue is part charity shop and part cafe. Professionally run, the cafe is hard to beat for value and quality. Do try the choice of homemade cakes - you will be spoiled for choice. There is a very friendly atmosphere with very helpful staff and you may find a bargain in the shop as well.

The Spring is run by nearby St Helen's Church on the A61 just south of Wakefield: it serves a range of drinks, snacks and larger meals in a pleasantly appointed space, once the church hall. Attentive service and a well-priced and tempting menu which does not disappoint, and a great sense of community. Non-profit with charitable giving.

Dear all, Might be long here and it will worth your time. I’m please you are reading my review which is needed to know before you make your decision to visit. I am saying everything in my honest directly from my heart to Hidden. Over months I have driven passing this site in my Lorry and seeing something fancy inside I wonder what would it be. My mind keeps telling myself that I MUST visit as soon as possible. Yesterday I put my money where my mouth is, eventually, I went to Hidden Cafe after touring in Coal Mine Museum nearby as a solo person like a Lone Wolf. In that night of being as customer. Environment inside is so beautiful making my mind going to Shangri La. Whether it is an cafe or an mini restaurant or an bar or all of them! Doesn’t really matter because this urban place is an low key place in all set reasons of visiting. Even pop in for a ten minute drink with your friend. I had an well cooked golden pizza with three buns of garlic bread and an posh red wine in addition to my meal. An ace to the young marvellous chef called Milly. Both of the waitress are lovely and welcoming. Sharing stories and our conversations went up to joy and equally. Just like playing tennis. We speak a few lines and wait for the reply or respond instead of holding the ball for too long. We talked all sort of topics. Music, career, families, prologue, hobbies, future and more. Taking yard by yard. Life goes on. Another to mention, their music in the background is smooth, correct volume and matching to the room of relaxing. Somebody could say, ‘To the stars’. If you want to know more about Hidden. Please use yourself or bring a friend and visit to this wonderful Hidden for your own experience and straight answers. Hidden is an Ace place to enjoy yourself whenever you wish to go. Thank you, Spencer Wolf

Called for lunch with a friend. Lovely atmosphere and decor Fairly basic menu but after speaking to James they aim to have minimal waste so more will be added to menu as more customers visit. Staff very attentive and helpful without being intrusive and food tasty and served with minimal waiting time. Highly recommend a visit to either sit in the outside terrace in the sun or inside in the beautifully decorated interior in what look like very comfy seating
