I went here last week with friends for a small wedding reception. I can't fault this place. A really pleasant and nicely laid out traditional pub once visited by the Queen Mum!! The decor is traditional with a lot of wood on show and creates a warm atmosphere. The staff were friendly and professional. I had the veggie breakfast which was excellent. The gents are about the cleanest ones I've ever used in a pub. Well worth a visit if you're in the area.

We recently stayed at this hotel and it exceeded all our expectations! We booked the Boutique Room on the Sunday Stay Over package. The room was absolutely beautiful and incredibly spacious—perfect for a relaxing getaway. Dinner in the courtyard was lovely, and to top it all off, we got to enjoy breakfast in bed the next morning! The only small thing to note is that the streets outside were a little noisy in the early hours. It didn't bother us at all, but if you're a light sleeper, it might be worth mentioning at check-in. All the staff were fantastic, providing exceptional service throughout our stay. We will definitely be booking here again.

My partner and I booked a room at the Spread Eagle Hotel in Wandsworth to celebrate my birthday, hoping for a quiet and enjoyable night together. We spent over two hundred pounds on the room, expecting a quality experience. Unfortunately, our stay was far from what we anticipated. Throughout the night, we were constantly kept up by noise from cleaners emptying bins, making it impossible to get a good night’s sleep. To make matters worse, there were no staff on reception to address any of our concerns or complaints, leaving us feeling neglected and frustrated. The disturbances didn’t end there. At 6:30 in the morning, delivery trucks added to the noise, compounding our previous sleeplessness. This only added to the discomfort and overall dissatisfaction with our stay. Given these issues, I would not recommend this hotel and will not be returning.

Stayed in this Hotel on a Monday night in early June 2024. I have stayed in many, many hotels in London in my time and I have to say that for value for money it is the best hotel I have ever stayed in, in the UK. Of course, it’s not the Ritz or the Carlton etc but you couldn’t stay in those Hotels car parks for what the Spread Eagle charged me. Before I arrived I was expecting a dingy room above a noisy pub. I was pleasantly surprised. The pub is huge, but lovely & clean. My room 21 was on the top floor and whilst it was small for a double it was immaculate. I’m guessing this hotel chain keep the rooms small to keep the cost low. I couldn’t fault the room. I’m not sure if my room had been recently renovated or it was just immaculate. Being the cheapest room in the area on booking.com I certainly wasn’t expecting a room so quiet, clean & tidy. Don’t let the low price put you off booking this hotel and you will be pleasantly surprised. POUND FOR POUND this hotel is in absolute bargain for what you get. Did I mention that the hotel is in an area with lots to eat/drink etc and good transport links. If I am ever in this area again and require a hotel I won’t even look elsewhere.

Really loved the Spread Eagle Hotel The facilities are great the hotel is spotless the staff are lovley and the food is good. Great find in WHS and would defo recommend. The hotel has everything you could want . We booked a snug room which it was but had everything you need the interiors were high end and the place is spotless. The bathrooms are lovely and toiletries are lovley . The bar next door does a great breakfast and it's handy for a quiet drink . I liked the fact that the bar was never busy and you could enjoy a drink after busy days in London. The staff are really nice and helpful it makes a change to have really good customer service they should be proud of that. It's a two train journey into London but well worth the effort

We really loved staying at this hotel. Our room was so cozy, funky, and cute! All of the staff, from the reception desk, to housekeeping, to the bartenders were excellent, friendly, and very accommodating. Especially Harlan, who we need to give an extra shout out for because he makes amazing cocktails, and always with a warm, welcoming smile. The location was perfect, in my opinion, because it is a little bit out from the crazy and expensive center of London, but still has easy access to the action if you want it. We would definitely stay here again.

We came for the roast dinner because we had heard great things but unfortunately it was very disappointing. The Yorkshire puddings were very crunchy and clearly old. Potatoes were reheated but somehow still raw in the middle and the carrots were burnt. We did tell the waiter but he didn't seem interested. Bloody Mary was nice but for £22 for a very basic and mediocre roast isn't great even for London.

We had an hour to kill so decided to pop into 'The Spread Eagle' for a quick bite to eat having been impressed with a previous visit. The character of the pub is great and the addition of a roaring log fire was a bonus. There was a smattering of customers for 12 noon on a Monday and we settled down on a nice round table with a glass of Provence Rose and an excellent 'Amsells' cider. Service was first class and friendly which set the tone. We decided on sharing and ordered a fish finger sandwich on brown sourdough, some spicy chicken wings and a portion of Parmesan fries. The food was clearly freshly cooked for us and for what it was being 'snacky', was delicious and generous. It was all reasonably priced and we both left extremely satisfied and agreeing we will visit the Spread Eagle again when we next visit Wandsworth.

This really is a tale of two halves. We booked a night at the Spread Eagle as it is dog friendly and our Cockapoo was made very welcome and our overall experience of the hotel side of the Spread Eagle was a good one, the rooms have a boutique feel to them. However; our experience of the restaurant side was a very different, and disappointing, experience! We didn’t get off to a good start as a member of staff dropped a drink over my partner which was an accident so no complaints on that front but things went downhill from there. The bar was busy which meant the staff were distracted and we had to collect our own main and dessert from the pass which I have to say is a first! My dessert was clearly pre-prepared but hadn’t been fully warmed which was a theme that followed at breakfast as my bacon was cold and was accompanied by something that resembled a Yorkshire pudding rather than a buttermilk pancake! I got a sense, from the delays between service and the lack of attention that the staff are stretched too thinly. The food experience has certainly put us off from going back.

I meant to post a review some time back but better late than never! We booked the Spread Eagle for our post wedding meal with family for 16th November 2023, and were absolutely blown away by the service that Shannon Cosgrove, the manager, and her staff provided. Nothing was too much trouble and they went out of their way to make sure that everything was perfect for our special day. The food was delicious (and hot! Which is an absolute must for me!) and everyone was served at the same time. The staff were discreet, but there whenever we needed them. We weren't rushed and were made to feel so welcome. The facilities were clean and luxurious and we fully recommend to anyone thinking of having their post wedding meal there -or any occasion really. Its situated opposite Wandsworth registry office so was perfect for older relatives who can't walk far. 10 out of 10!

A great venue, Victorian Gothic in style. It was 10.30 on Monday morning, not a particularly busy time, but then a thought occurred to me. I wish they and other large pubs would splash out and install a ' help yourself' machine for endless coffee and hot drinks.. Charging for a mug purchased from the bar, whatever would be necessary for the venue. Eg:--- £2.00 , £3.00 or £4.00. Certainly no more. Just make certain you clear up the empties when customers leave! I can guarantee you will get more than the half a dozen customers that were present in the 1.5 hours I was there.

Absolutely horrible service and table wasn’t cleaned before we sat down. My husband asked for no ketchup on his burger and I noticed the waiter didn’t write that down. 3 of our meals came out at the same time, but my husbands didn’t and there was no explanation, and no one around to flag down and ask. His burger finally came out once the rest of us finished, and was covered in ketchup. Sent it right back to the kitchen. Prices were also very expensive for the lack of quality.

Sunday roast was superb, pork was perfectly cooked and the trimmings were just as good! Carrots were really nice and seemed to be cooked in honey! A little saddened by the roast potatoes (obviously the best part of any roast) as they were a bit undercooked and chewy, so a little let down there, also the food arrived warm but went cold quickly. But otherwise, really enjoyed the meal! Staff were super helpful and informative, told us how the process worked, quick to bring sauces and spices on request. Bar staff had good vibes and energy. We didn’t book a table and the restaurant area where we were sat didn’t have heating, although we were informed of this when coming in, it was a little too bitter to bare and I ended up keeping my coat on. Better to book in advance!

In a bygone era, my hansom cab would have drawn up alongside the River Wandle, and I’d have been welcomed by the innkeeper under the wrought iron and burgundy glass canopy at the entrance to The Spread Eagle Inn & Saloon. Today the river is diverted underneath a shopping centre and a myriad of cars, busses, trucks, bicycles, and people crowd the busy A205 intersection. But the beautiful wrought iron canopy is still there. Inside, I like to believe that the honey colour oak wall panels and bar festooned with gleaming draught taps have been here since day one. But I know it was renovated about two years ago, so it may be wishful thinking. The renovation has been sympathetically completed and a rather handsome annex built across a narrow courtyard that will provide a glorious sun-trap in summer. Today, however, I’m escorted into the dining room to meet a friend seated beside a roaring open log-fire. We aren’t hungry enough for starters despite very tempting pork cheek croquettes and Shropshire chicken & leek terrine appearing on the menu. Just as well because our main courses are meant not only to feed, but definitely fatten! My companion opted for the braised beef rump & mushroom pie. A golden short-crust pie, the size of a bread plate arrived on a mountain of crushed root vegetable mash with a magnificent traditional gravy sloshing around in the bowl, which should be more accurately described as a soup terrine such was its size. This is pie-making at its finest! Mouth melting hunks of rump and silky chestnut mushrooms stuffed into a snug home of crisp shortcrust pastry. I too, went for a comforting Guinness braised short-rib of beef with heritage carrots, celeriac puree and more of the wonderful gravy. A glistening door-stopper size of short-rib filled my soup terrine bowl, falling off the bone as I looked on. This is everything I needed on what was the coldest day of winter so far. The portions are huge, so we had a break midway, determined not to waste any of the chef’s talent & dedication to his craft. The pudding menu, by comparison, was a little disappointing. We did however partake in a sticky toffee pudding with vanilla milk ice cream and a chocolate ganache tart with brandy butter ice cream. Both expertly made and a sumptuous end to the afternoon. The Spread Eagle is highly recommended! Starters and pudding around £8 and mains at £20. A decent selection of wine by the glass and some great value bottles.

Lovely, friendly staff. Decor - fresh and attractive, but neither of us enjoyed our food. Salad was overdressed - I’d argue shop - bought dressing and the bacon would break teeth. The egg and Avo was apparently not very nice either. They’d run out of 50% of the puddings too. We arrived for a very late lunch, so perhaps that explains the latter, but they (mainly?) used fresh ingredients, so the food should have been far more palatable.

We enjoyed a casual lunch at this hotel. The pub was not overly busy on this Friday and is was a very relaxing experience. The staff provided good service and the meals were nicely presented. I particularly enjoyed my fish and chips. Generous portions and very tasty.

Visiting London for the weekend and a group of us booked for a Sunday lunch here. The team were fantastic, really looked after us and the manager on duty made some great wine recommendations as we were all after something different. We all had roasts, they were all incredible, especially the beef. It just melted in your mouth. I am sad we don't live closer but will deffo be back next time we are in London :)

The coffee is tasteful and the staff is nice. They should put code to the loo, and not keys, as it's annoying to ask staff for it.

I recently visited Belle Amie Coffee and had an exceptional experience. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, perfect for relaxing or getting some work done. The staff were friendly and attentive, providing excellent service throughout my visit. The coffee was outstanding—rich, smooth, and perfectly brewed. I also enjoyed a delicious pastry that complemented my drink perfectly. The attention to detail in both the food and beverage offerings was impressive. I highly recommend Belle Amie Coffee to anyone looking for a great coffee shop experience. I will definitely be returning!

We've been here before, maybe a year ago and the experience was good, however on this occasion it was poor. We selected what we wanted from the website menu however when we arrived it was apparent that the website menu was out of date; some of our selections were not on the table menu. Two of our party selected Sausages and mash but there were no sausages so had to select something else. Three of us ordered fish & chips but bizarrely there was no vinegar available. It's the first establishment I've ever been to where you couldn't get vinegar with fish and chips. One of our party ordered a burger which was supposed to have two patties but was more like one and a half. He went to complain about it but nobody came back to us. When paying at the bar I mentioned the burger issue and the guy I was talking to went off to check with the server and he knocked this meal off the bill. I also pointed out that they had missed £60 worth of wine off the bill. He added it on to the bill but I didn't get any thanks for this. Wish I hadn't bothered now. I feel that the main issue however was the demeanour of the staff. Instead of "I'm awfully sorry we've ran out of vinegar" and maybe an explanation of why, it was "we haven't got any vinegar". It wasn't " I'm really sorry, we've had a run on the sausages and there aren't any left" or something like that, it was "we haven't got any sausages", It wasn't "we're really sorry the burger meal wasn't up to our usual standard" or something like that, it was "I've knocked it off the bill". It wasn't "oh, that's really good of you to let us know we'd missed the wine off the bill" or something like that. It was, well nothing really, it just got added to the bill. It was if having customers there was an inconvenience to the staff. There was minimal eye contact, no smiles and avoiding contact with customers as much as possible appeared evident. Wish we had gone somewhere else. We certainly won't be going again. I'm writing this in response to an email from the Nine Elms Tavern saying that my option matters. It will be interesting to see what, if any, response I get to this.

Here just for drinks while we waited to check in to Premier Inn just round the corner. Service was okay and coffee okay. Seems to be a café /coffee shop to bring your gadgets and look at your screen. Depends upon your point of view whether that is good, bad or indifferent.
