The app used to order food is poor. UX mean so got the order wrong because of the complexity adding sides etc. Use people it s better.

Coffee is good but £4.30 for a flat white in the new, even smaller cups, is too pricey. Oat milk made up £0.50 of this price. Oat milk retail is ~£1.50 / litre and this is probably 100ml. It should not cost more than cows milk.

A really good coffee just some things to have on mind: - You are not allowed to use your laptop or iPad, I understand you don’t want to have people for 2 hours anyways you should allow some time - No vegan pastries - And most important they don’t have “cup”, they only have paper cups even if you sit down inside, I think this is something they should change

I get coffee here on my way to work a couple of times a week. It's great coffee, the service is always excellent and with a smile and the cookies and pastries are delicious! The price is a bit high, particularly due to the surcharge for non-dairy milk, but ok for a treat a couple of times a week.

Excellent quality coffee and some good sweet treats options (I think the simple bakery goods could be improved perhaps). Bring back the cheese toasties to the Clapham site too! Finally don't know if it's the general market, but starting to feel a bit expensive

Unfortunately the price has gone up and the quality down.. they now use 17 grams of coffee as opposed to before where they were using the recommended 18 🥺 it’s just not the same 🥲 I’ll be moving on, to another coffee place

You have to wait outside (in my case in the rain) to order even when you want to sit inside .. the weirdest concept ever. They only serve coffee in takeaway cups

I first found Story Coffee when I moved to London years ago. Back then, the coffee, service, and pricing was spot on. Following the pandemic, it's all gone a bit downhill. If you want to drink in, you need to wait outside and order from the window, and there ain't a chance of getting your coffee in a real cup here - paper or plastic only. They have even closed the toilet off to customers. My biggest issue is now the price. I just paid £5.00 for an Iced Oat Latte (50p surcharge for Oat Milk) this just seems extortionate, even for London. The majority of coffee places now offer alternative milks for free. Maybe Story has a captive audience who are willing to pay these prices, but for the service offered, these prices are way off.

My go to coffee spot when I'm in London. Great coffee, lovely staff and they even have a rewards system, every 10 coffees you buy. I've tried other places but nowhere seems to hit the spot like Story! (Side note: they also do an excellent range of coffee beans if you're running low)

I have been going to story since I moved to the area and it has become part of my morning routine due to outstanding and friendly staff, paired with the best cup of coffee in the area.

Mouldy banana bread. Absolutely disgusting, after ordering a slice of banana bread i received a mouldy slice the worker then apologised and cut me new slice which also was covered in mould. This is terrible, i'm so disappointed.

Great coffee. Takeout food would be better for me if you could have it hot/warm. I would love it if you had some cushions on the seats inside

Window wide open in the cold .. expected to order outside . Inside cold obviously . Latte was tiny and nearly £5 in a paper cup. Told no internet after ordering . Seats uncomfortable and toilet out of use . Worst and most uncomfortable coffee shop I have ever been in ... in the world Didn't help the barista doesn't know how to even smile and gives indifferent service

Extremely rude & terrible customer service from the owner. A mistake they made with my order which I simply asked to make the correct order before him abruptly saying ‘you’re not having it, have a refund’ after waiting 10 minutes to which I I happily obliged. Staff were very apologetic & said ‘sorry he’s having one of those days’ will not visit again.

Rude staff. Odd militant attitude about where to stand when you are ordering, and where to wait. The coffee isn’t good enough to make up for the service

We were expecting more based on the reviews. Limited cakes options. Despite eating in, our coffees and brownies were served in paper bags and cups. Also, the staff started vacuuming while we were there. 14 pounds for 2 coffees and two small brownies.

Mediocre coffee, toilet out of use and an absurd decision to have everyone order outside the cafe through a window on the coldest day of the year, even when wanting to sit inside (which is now freezing because of the open window). I understand the no laptops policy is to protect the minimal seating from being hogged by people working, but seems a little ridiculous on a quiet day midweek.

One very unwelcoming staff member, had to order through the outside hatch in the cold before being let inside! It was freezing cold as the giant hatch window you order through is wide open. Signs saying no laptops or working, my friend went to charge her phone and the plugs are covered. She uncovered the plug to charge her phone and he said no, the socket isn’t working, when it was! Toilets out of order, not a great experience unfortunately

Nice little corner cafe, where you order from the side window. Not many food options available at all but that’s ok - they do have croissants and the coffee is good! They do have seating inside if needed, Just pay at the window and walk inside. Oh, and they are definitely a screen free cafe; meaning laptops and tablets are banned from the tables inside. Nice touch.

Expensive, pastry was a bit stale and they had quite aggressive no laptop signs on every table, their POS and every window. Made to order outside and served in a paper cup. Coffee was good, but I wouldn't go back.

The iced coffee here is pretty average, and I don't agree with their policy about not using laptops/tablets in the cafe. Other cafes let you do this, and they serve better coffee. Go to Birdhouse, just a couple doors down!

Not really open despite advertising closing at 3pm and website says 4pm they declined to serve us food at 1345 without any concern. Dreadful service I’d love the owners to be aware. Love the coffee and cakes normally

We went into for a coffee on our way to Clapham. We were greeted in a friendly manner, the coffee was very good as was in the chocolate chip cookie. Nice quaint place. We'll definitely go again as I fancy having one of their sandwiches and other pastries.

After disappointing service at Wandsworth I decided to give a chance Your other shop. This time 2 star review, lower one star than previous one. Coffee was ok and that’s only thing bringing this up from 1 star. I waited outside good 10 min until someone emerged and asked for order. As a barista I understand how important is to serve same drink to every customer. Unfortunately you system got so automated that Starbucks putting more effort in making coffee. Barista just pushed 4 buttons, grinder, puck press, coffee machine and frothing machine. Milk from frothing machine went straight to cup, never even met with jug. You raising prices of coffee not trying elevate you standards and service.

Great local coffee shop. It’s a laptop free zone, which creates a nice atmosphere as a place to go for a break from work / catch up with friends.

On the plus side, coffee is quite good but no proper cups for eating in - not very environmentally friendly, and if you're going to have a no gizmo rule then provide the daily papers and some magazines. Also the loo was out of order! What were they expecting the poor woman behind the counter to do let alone customers? Along with the usual overpriced cakes a somewhat lacklustre experience

Chose this venue for brunch as not a large chain and the menu seemed a bit different. As other reviewers state, the staff were unhelpful and arrogant with the exception of the lady in a white T shirt. The scrambled eggs were plentiful but somewhat tasteless & served with a minimal bread slice. The location is lovely but foodwise we would have been better eating at Pret across the road. DISAPPOINTING!!!

Coffee is cool, but the laptop policy and atmosphere is horrible, it seems like the owner wanna get more money by banning freelancers work in the cafe. If money is priority quality always is low 😇

Apparently they have this no laptop rule in the inside part of the cafe, which is ridiculous. It is not obvious from the shop front. They put it on a tiny piece of paper on the till relying on you seeing it. And if you don't, you would have only found out after having ordered and gone in to see what's on the table. This is not on. If you have the audacity to ban laptops, make it VERY clear upfront. They charge £3 for a have-in tea. In my opinion I didn’t pay £3 for the tea, I am paying to use the real estate - the use of space, electricity, service. Who doesn’t know how to make their own tea? A tea bag is 5p, a dash of milk another 5p, hot water another 5p max - no one is buying a 15p cup of tea for £3 and not be allowed to sit inside to use their laptop! Crucially, the tea wasn’t even great. All this while I sat outside in the cold there was hardly anyone using the space inside. Also, it’s just laptops and iPads that are banned, phones aren’t. Baffling.

Average coffee, not as good as it’s being recommended, plus almost no space inside to sit only take aways, toilet was “out of use”.

It’s fine that I have to order the first coffee outside and then go in to sit but fir the second coffee I have go back outside is nonsensical. Discussed with barista but he was not having any of it. Did not bother questioning this arrangement any further. Prob won’t go back. There are plenty of other coffee shops

I have been going to Story Coffee for the last six years. I go there everyday for my coffee fix. My morning starts on a good note after I have had their coffee which is so consistent and tastes amazing. The staff are so welcoming, friendly and attentive. The baristas are so well trained and that is why each cup of coffee is always the same. I would highly recommend this coffee shop if you have never tried it before and I can assure you that you will not be disappointed and hopefully become a regular customer😊😊😊

staff are unbelievably rude. saw the short haired waitress staff berate a customer for using a laptop - "look at our signs, sorry can you leave". 😲 Barista just giggled. coffee is OK as bean quality is high (still not Caravan, Clinton's or Monmouth good) but avoid if you can. Edit: just checked comments below and you can see owner's response to most of clients is pretty derogatory. Fingers crossed business rates kills this place and a better coffee shop takes its place!

Story Coffee, the epicentre of the local community. Over the past six years I find myself consistently drawn to Story's hatch. It's not only a place for indulgent coffees, succulent toasties and buttery pastries but a hub for comfort in a multitude of ways. The super friendly staff feel like an integral part of my morning routine. Daily conversations with an array of staff members is such a welcoming touch. Always smiling, always happy and always nailing the perfect concoction of oat milk and coffee beans. The owner Sof is a gentleman and makes you feel incredibly valued as a customer. I will always bring my custom in exchange for those teal cups filled with wonderful coffee. I'm so proud to see a locally owned business succeed in my community.

I used to really enjoy this place, recently the coffee is not as good and some of the staff are fairly rude.

I like this place. The food and coffee are excellent. However, what I find annoying is the fact the inside air conditioned area is frequently closed due to staffing issues leaving no where to sit except in an unshaded and very warm area. This actually stops me going here. It would be better if they closed the outside area where fewer people sit and opened the indoor area.

Usually the food here is not great. It has a really nice atmosphere though and the staff are usually really nice. Today I bought an orange juice and a slice of banana bread, which on its own cost £3.50. However, my banana bread was undercooked. The waitress, Edna, didn’t seem to care. It’s clear to me that she has no idea how to handle a customer complaint. To be honest I would really only come here because it’s on the corner - everything else isn’t really worth it. Overpriced - and no one is actually tasting what they sell.

Great coffee made very well. Good range of alternative milks as well which is great to see. Only thing lacking for me is the service, literally done at the window and chatting to customers seems to be a no no.

Was really looking forward to some nice food, only to arrive at 11am and find they only had what was on display which was just some pastries. At present the images on google are misleading, as you can’t get anything. If I had known I wouldn’t have gone there.

Personal experience: worst coffee shop experience ever. Personally, I just don’t get why coffee shops won’t allow outside food, not even a sandwich, not even outside even when I have already ordered coffee, and also, no laptop?? Not even outside?? So you are saying I just can’t have a sandwich from another place while using my laptop on your entire premise?? Coffee is not even that good to match their unreasonable requirements.

First time coming to this coffee shop and will definitely be returning! Staff were friendly and kind, the food and drink itself here was exquisite. Highly recommend if your looking for a nice place to kick back and relax. Overall a lovely experience and look forward to going back.
