Por desgracia los propietarios parecen haber sido incapaces de tomar una vista más larga de este negocio y han vendido. Liam y sylvie han sido trasladados al Pubco y la Vimos Bull está cerrado.

Decoration is quirky and this pub is a nice place to be - Longhorn IPA on tap was delicious - Burger was good with excellent home cooked chips and nice slaw. Will definitely visit again.

It really has changed from what it was from when it first opened. It had a good buzz and the food use to be talk of the town. But since the new management took over a few months ago the place has lost its wow factor. The food is now terrible and there is no skill. Bought in and frozen. The original chef that was there has gone which explains why the food is not good anymore. I won't be a regular. Very disappointed.

Visited for a friends birthday, the bar staff had no knowledge of our booking and after asking for a menu was told that the menu was limited. No American BBQ as promised on the website, very disappointed so left and would not return.

After reading mixed reviews we thought we would give it a go. Looks a bit tired from the outside. Bar staff had never heard of bitter lemon and the menu was very limited. Stuck to a basic hot dog and burger. All frozen food and pretty tasteless. Disappointed

Had a quick lunch here on Sunday, nothing to write home about. Food was very average. Used the toilet which had wonky toilet seat and no lock on the door. The outside looks better after refurb but certain areas need attention inside. Staff were friendly and attentive but bit put off by dog barking behind the bar.

If you have ever avoided the Spotted Bull, me too, but no longer. A wonderful ambience, great selection of craft beers and many gins led to a special experience. The quirky decor and attentive barstaff made the visit a real eye opener and we will return again and again.

We are regulars and this is my second review. The venue is still great and now there appears to be beer garden on the horizon.!!The food for us has always been excellent and this is what has kept us coming back to the pub. So It's a real shame to hear that the chef Nathan will not be working at this venue anymore. He opened the the kitchen from last Year and has always provided us with top quality food and service. He got the pub a 5 star hygiene rating and we have seen on Twitter that the pub has been nominated for one of the best places to eat in this town for families. He ended up renting the kitchen so that he could continue working here. The new management decided to cut his service and bring in one of their friends to replace him. They want to take on the food for themselves now. He will be surely missed and we wish him every success in his next venture. We willDefiantly continue to support him where ever he goes.

Visited the Spotted bull when it first opened and have been there a number of times since. Have had lunches and evening meals there with friends, family and as a couple. The food has always been excellent and a pub on my doorstep that does real and craft ales..... what more could I want. There is an excellent choice of ales and with the odd guest ale too. There is always a warm friendly welcome and the dog is lovely..... it does not go in the dining area its behind the bar and unless you look you wouldn't know she's there.Love eating at the Spotted Bull and definitely a regular customer.

Went early Easter Friday after a friend suggested it and we were not let down. Upon arrival the lovely owners asked us if we wanted a film on for our daughter which was fantastic and they also provided toys. We were joined by friends and their family and they were made to feel exactly the same. Separate bars which provide a lovely ambience. Food and selection of drinks were very good and I think I have found a new "local". They really couldn't do enough for us. Looking forward to going back

We have been coming to the pub since it reopened last October and to be honest it was mediocre. No one in it and not very friendly. That was until the arrival of Liam and Sylvie back in January. This young couple have really pulled out the stops to turn the pub around. It's much friendlier, the food is good and the menu really interesting. They have introduced a quiz night and occasional live music. Numbers are definitely starting to increase and it has a nice feel about it now.Things got even better for us recently with the arrival of Coco the 10 month old puppy. She is adorable and we now have somewhere to bring our left over lamb bone following Sunday lunch! It's also good to see what new tricks Sylvie has taught Coco since our last visit.

This is our third visit. We were a party of six. Food and service fantastic....slight delay on our puddings. Of which we received them on the house. But I was horrified to discover there's now a resident dog behind the bar!? Walking around behind the bar with its face and bum near clean glasses!!! Not a good look. It was too late to leave as we had already ordered. I made sure my son didn't drink (we had our own drink for him luckily) and that we all used straws. I really don't think this is appropriate and we won't be coming back until the dog is gone! Very unhygienic!

Having used to drink in this pub some 20 years ago I have to admit I was reluctant to accept an invitation to join some friends for some after work drinks. In fact it took them quite a time to try and persuade me in which I have to say it's a completely different pub to what it used to be. The 'cinema' and comfy sofas is superb for famillies. The kids can sit and watch some brilliant kids films why the adults and can enjoy a relaxing drink. They show films on a Saturday afternoon and Wednesday evening and sometimes put one on at other times. The food is good and well worth visit. The only negative is that they don't have Sky Sports.

We visited this pub restaurant for Mother's Day, and had to phone around as we left it until the morning to book. Many others were fully booked and could not take us. We therefore looked on Tripadvisor and were greatly swayed when we read that they were rated #5 out of 117 restaurants in our area. There must be some mistake! For our main course several of us chose the Sunday roast.. The course took almost an hour to be served, and was over-cooked...the yorkshires puddings were burnt black in places! For sweet we ordered pancakes, which took a further 40 minutes, and when they arrived were stone cold. We complained, and they brought out again...still cold! We had to send them back three times before they came out hot. The young guy in charge looked embarrassed, and apologised prefusely, and to be fair, when we asked for the bill he deducted the charge for all sweets. We will not be going there again, and marvel at the rating tripadvisor have awarded it.

A great find.Ignore the exterior and past reputation, the new owners have created a warm comfortable interior that I will want to visit again and again. The secret cinema on a Sunday showing children's films is a must for every local family. The food is fresh, decently priced and really tasty. An added bonus for me is it is also dog friendly.

Don't be put off by the exterior of this pub/restaurant. Inside the decor has been well thought through. Very tasty and child friendly food. The puddings were to die for. Good selection of beers to choose from - the bottled IPA was wonderful!Staff were attentive and friendly. The Spotted Bull couldn't be more different from the chain restaurants in the town retail development. Glad we found it.

I had the pleasure of dinning at the Spotted Bull this week, where the Chef "Nathan" went out of his way to prepare me an absolutely delicious vegetarian meal. The food was made from good fresh produce but what made the meal particularly pleasant was the chefs warm and considerate approach to the needs of my girlfriend and I! The chap was very professional with a sense of humour! We will definitely be eating there again!

I must I've really enjoyed this place since its refurb late last year. I've noticed a few staff changes since its opening to. Not sure if that's a good or bad thing but I have mixed views about this. The food has always been fantastic. I've met the chef 3 or 4 times and he's always been very helpful with the menu. Loves to talk food and share all his wonderful experiences. Also helpful with food choices as some of us in our group have special dietary requirements and nothing seems to much trouble. We have managed to set up an arrangement with him to let him know when we may be coming down so that we can order any specific food we may require. We will try this out hopefully on our next visit. There are new managers now at the pub and my views are a bit mixed about them. The previous one before them never seemed to be bothered much about customer service and was always sitting at the end of the bar on his phone or laptop. These new guys are complete opposite and very active. But the attitude can be a bit short. I've been coming in more frequently latley and I'm starting to notice a change. Particularly the lady manager seems to be more moody lately. Especially tonight on my visit with friends. The was also an annoying dog barking behind the bar which at times was quite annoying on the ears. Poor dog I was beginning to think. And is it really safe for it to be there??I would of liked to have scored this review higher but my feelings are still mixed over all this. It seems maybe now the cracks are starting to show which is a shame because this really could be a great place out of London to visit. It must not be easy to run a bar but really the customer shouldn't feel like a burden to be there. I will give this place another try next month and hope for the best!!

Am so glad that the use of the Spotted Bull is starting to build. Lovely pub with some good idea's - secret cinema is fantastic. Notice they are now starting to show some of the Rugby as well. Selection of craft beers is fantastic. Good choice of food too. Worth following on facebook to see what is on. Really hope this takes off as it is exactly what the area needs.

Since the refurb and now under new management, who are a lovely couple, this is one of my favourite places to go in Hemel. It is very different to anywhere else around (in a good way). Great food and even better selection of beers. Please, local Hemelites and tourists alike, give this place a go. It's a real hidden gem that deserves to succeed.

I've lived in Hemel all my life and have steered clear of The Spotted Bull purely due to reputation. Since the refurb and the new management, this pub is right up my street. Liam and Sylvie are so friendly and really what this place needs. Really love the films they put on and the comfy sofas. Their range of drinks is brilliant too - lots of craft beers. Food is nice - we popped down for lunch one day. I'd recommend for families, couples and groups of friends. Anyone really!I have been recommending it to everyone!

This place has been done up really well. Lovely decor and furniture. It's very relaxed with a great American smokehouse style menu. We had 2 main meals (lovely pulled pork burger & beef burger with amazing chips) and 2 beers for only £26 which was very reasonable. There was great service, shame the card machine didn't let us leave a tip - we'll remember to bring cash next time!! The retro film nights look fantastic, we will be looking out for the next one!Highly recommend this place (our new local).

American pit barbecue and gorgeous craft beers come to Hemel. A little gem of a pub/restaurant off the beaten track serving traditional pit BBQ goodies. The ribs and brisket were fantastic, and the spicy slaw on the side made the meal. I'll be working my way through the menu on numerous future visits. Topped off with some great craft beers on tap as well as a huge selection of bottles. WELL DONE....!

We visted the Spotted Bull at lunch time on Sunday went to bar to order drinks bar person friendly another person was at the bar not sure if It was another customer or the landlord difficult to tell as he neither had a drink or spoke a word to us (a hello would have been a start) this was a first visit since it's refurb were going to make it a regular visit at the weekends with the possibility of trying the food with some of our friends will have to re think this, on our leaving bar person said goodbye & yes You guessed it (no acknowledgement from man at bar who we now think was the landlord) it doesn't hurt to speak to customers!

We have had food from both the dinner and lunch menu and all of it has been cooked to a high quality with generous portion sizes. The pulled pork has become a house favourite and the apple and caramel crumble was amazing! The Salt Beef Mac & Cheese was a great warming lunch and the sweet bites certainly helped us get through the afternoon. I would recommend to anyone who is looking for a delicious and convenient meal for lunch or dinner.
