Popped in for lunch yesterday ( Saturday). A lovely clean and comfortable pub with an excellent varied menu. I was amazed at the value for money we experienced with excellent food and very good portions. Would highly recommend.

Although we didn't stay in the hotel part ....the pub was comfortable and played great music it was busy, but staff were brilliantly attentive .

The room is lovely and spotlessly clean Really a gem in soho...the location I think is obvious it's the best but the rooms are also fantastic, brand new with windows (hard to find in London) and modern facilities The bar is also perfect, as are the staff!

Disappointing experience and lack of security We went to this pub to have a drink and, unfortunately, we experienced a very unpleasant situation. A bag of souvenirs was stolen from us by two boys who were glued to our table in a rather strange circumstance. Upon realizing this, we spoke to the waiters on several occasions, but their attitude was completely passive, as if nothing had happened. The most worrying thing is that other customers told us that there were security cameras that could confirm what happened, but the staff refused to check them and did not want to call the police. The lack of commitment to customer safety is alarming. This place feels like they can do whatever they want to you and no one will lift a finger. We will not return.

Great location, very busy and welcoming pub. Friendly staff, decent food, and drink selection. Clean toilets. Music and mic nights. Rooms are also available.

They only place in London you can get Murphy's (I think) they need Beamish though

Fantastic rooms and brilliant location. Really nice little touches throughout. Service was excellent and you and bang in the middle of everything location wise. Cheaper than your chain hotels as well.

It was decent at best, I ordered ham, egg and chips and it was disappointing for this price, but maybe that's just how the dish tastes in general, I also ordered a beer and it never arrived, most of the staff seemed nice though, but that was a disappointing first pub experience

Had an excellent evening here, staff are friendly and the performances by Dove Jones and his band were great! Food was ok.

Amazing gem in the heart of the west end

Wonderful welcome from very friendly staff, nothing seems to be too much trouble. The rooms are extremely well dressed to a standard you could expect from a 5 star major hotel. It’s located in the heart of theatre land , however the rooms are very quiet and you will get a good nights sleep. I would definitely return and I would be very happy to recommend friends to this hotel. Great staff, great location , great reason to visit. John metcalfe Manchester

Sunday lunch = bit on the tough side! Sunday lunch used to be good here. Today it was probably cooked at 10am and kept warm!

We have stayed in room 101 last weekend for a night after Kream set at Here. The room and whole hotel is amazing with beautiful pub offering live music and great food! Super clean and beautifully arranged rooms. 5 dtars! Will come back soon!

Had a lovely stay here! Wife is gluten free and they had loads of great options for her. The chicken tenders were unreal. Euan couldn’t have been better at accommodating us. Giving us advice on local areas to eat drink and just going out his way to make us feel welcomed. We were allowed to leave our bags while we explored before and after our booking. They even managed to get us checked in early. 10/10 stay will definitely be back.

Fantastic evening with some amazing artist playing. A superb venue, nice staff and good beer. A really good place to hang out of an evening listing to some great music.

We had a beer after watching a show. Passed this place and it is always to experience different pubs. Great atmosphere and bar staff.

The toilets smell like they have never been cleaned. The music is far too loud to have a conversation. The employees look extremely unmotivated. We've been sitting at the table for 45 minutes waiting to order - everything is ignored... To eat: The burger patty was really good. It's fascinating how you still manage to make such an incredibly dry and bad burger out of it. Really not worth it for this price.

Booked tickets for the Sunday Jazz Jam which was a novel take on Jazz music with an open mic style with the house band. We arrived at 2pm and pretty much got the last seats. The food section was good and service very quick. Will be going back there again for the Sunday roast!

Jay was a very pleasant bar chap and I would recommend anyone to come to this establishment for a great sit down pint to celebrate a friends birthday, great service and great choice of beers.

Tuesday night comedy...... Amazing acts, amazing venue.

Stayed for one night with my 10 year old. Very convenient, helpful staff, and the location couldn't have been more perfect for seeing HP at the Palace Theatre. The room was quiet, even being so close to everything. Well stocked room, and we were very comfortable. There is a separate entrance for hotel guests after check in, so we could comfortably enter at any time.

Amazing location in Soho. Beautiful rooms (brand new) above a great pub which also served breakfast. Stayed in a really quiet room overlooking Romilly Street. Air con, iron, nespresso , safe, fridge, great bathroom and really comfy bed. Booked interconnecting room with family which worked well. Have already booked again.

Staff! Dania is awesome! She went above and beyond Rooms are so sweet! Decor is so posh! Every detail and impeccably clean! The pub fish and chips were to die for! Staff is so very lovely as kind! Classy place! Wish we had more time! We loved our room!! Ritual bath products- amazing view, nespresso machine and mini bar! Bottle of water. Only thing was we had an issue with bathtub after pub closed and had to move rooms. there was no phones in room or number to call with problems. They are just opening so sorting the kinkd staff was so apologetic and moved us to the same room upstairs. They bought our breakfast for the trouble very kind! We will be back!! Love this place!

Bar tender with an iron maiden top and a beard is a legend

Stayed at the hotel and it was an all round extraordinary experience! It combines, in the one hand, the casual of a pub stay - a friendly, personal check-in process, completely different from a normal hotel. No reception per say but a dedicated team ready at all times - Especially the manager John!! With, in the other hand, the luxury of a small boutique hotel, with small quirks and nods anywhere you could possibly lay your eyes on, a design and attention to detail I've personally only experienced in much, much more expensive hotels. Not mentioning the incredible location in the heart of Soho, the history of which the hotel pays a beautiful homage to, and the iconic pub and music venue on the premises... The hotel part itself is Aynhoe-esque, quirky country home interior, extravagant yet tasteful, colourful chic to the max. It feels like cranking up saturation to 200%. The hotel part is brand new as it has JUST opened and the whole experience felt like uncovering a gem before it comes to public attention and inevitably gets booked up.

Darwin is a very kind and helpful gentleman and certainly his service if one spoke about him in terms of politeness and being helpful was 5 star. Every Monday the live jazz from 12.30 to 2.30 is tastefully selected from bands comprising friendly and talented musicians and a well receiving audience . Food is good too. Do try it! (The jazz On Mondays half noon to half two is in the basement)

Great location for a pub. Nice 80s music. A tad too loud for me, but I could still hold a conversation. Ordered Sauvignon Blanc. Would have loved to spend time in the downstairs bar. However it was closing. There had been live music in there earlier. Oh well another time.

You order at the bar and take the drink to the table. If you order food, they bring the plates to the table. We ordered an IPA and a Coca-Cola (they serve it on tap). For lunch we decided on a cheese, potato and leek pie and the chicken tenders. We loved the cake. Quite acceptable value for money. We are looking forward to participating in the pub quiz (they are on Tuesdays at 6:30 p.m. in the basement)

Popped in briefly dressed as Santa with the BMX outside. Great pub. Food wise - very nice sausage and mash. Came smothered in gravey which I normally don't like but was actually quite nice. A mate ordered a bowel of chips however when it's served in a large sauce bowel and quanty struggles to get into double digits . . .

Went there on a Saturday night to escape the cold rainy weather! Really fun tunes guys! Had a pint n lil dancy dance, wander round. Was really great!

Nice pub. Due to the location it can get pretty busy. They have music which gives a good atmosphere but it can be a bit loud for conversation sometimes. Good choice of beers and very central which is great.

I've been coming here since it was an old run down punker pub back in the eighties. Not the same vibe anymore but love coming just to visit and remember the crazy stuff that went on here . Good food good drink and nice staff .

Relatively quiet when other boozers were packed out on Saturday lunchtime. Ok sandwiches, not cheap

The draft Asahi does not taste right, wouldn't order it. Have had better tasting pours at other bars that probably clean the pipes / swap barrels more frequently in the UK. Take it from someone who lived in Japan for a year. Friend got a mojito and had soooo much ice, tasted good at least.

Up until the 2024 refit, used to meet a friend there every week around 5,30. Now the music is just too damned loud. The Cambridge next door is much better.

Bought a bottle of red wine, which was rather on the pricey side @ £30 and tasted vinegary. We did not spend ages behind the bar waiting to be served and the atmosphere in the bar was good.

This pub has recently been renovated and its low level lighting gives it a somewhat intimate feel. They offer standard pub food e.g. fish and chips. They had four cask beers but I opted for a Peroni at £6.80. Their whisky selection was not extensive, comprising 13 whiskies. They have a small exterior seating area plus a nice bar downstairs (used mainly for events such as music and comedy). We were there at 4pm on a Friday and it was quite busy. The one disappointment was that we had to leave earlier than we wanted as virtually all tables were reserved from 6.30pm. The service was excellent. In summary a nice pub in a good location.

£6.70 for a pint of lager. The least you could expect from the bar staff is a hello. Served by a guy who could not have looked less happy to be there. Raised his eyebrows which I assume meant, "what would you like?", ordered a pint and he said "6.70". I paid, nothing else was said. No thank you, nothing. London is supposed to be unfriendly but the pubs are supposed to be welcoming. Disappointing.

Live jazz jam session on a Monday is the perfect way to extend the weekend feeling. Very relaxed and welcoming. Great vibe.

It's a place frequented by locals, so there's a lot of people outside, and it's nice to have exciting music playing inside.

I've been coming to this pub for many years ! It's a great central meeting place.

A typical English pub in central London. We tried three types of beer and only one was worthy of recommendation. Unfortunately, we didn't eat anything, so I can't summarize the food. The service was not particularly friendly, and people would sit at our table and smoke cigarettes without asking if it would bother us. A plus for the decor and a few tables outside where you can drink a beer and look at the bustling streets. Prices high, as they are in London.

We came here for drinks and dinner. The beers were great! The food was just okay. We ordered the pie tasting and the fish and chips. I'd suggest ordering a full pie instead of the tasting as these are smaller portions and we're mostly crust.

To keep it safe, I moved my bag to my friend's side before going to the toilet, but it was stolen along with my hard drive, iPod, university ID, and work IDs. When I asked the staff to check the security cameras, they said only the police could view the footage. I brought the police to the bar, and they reviewed the security footage, identifying the person who took my bag. It was clearly a homeless person or a drug addict. I questioned how the security could allow such a person inside the bar, and their response was that this happens all the time and I should have taken my bag with me to the toilet. My bag was stolen from our table, and I feel betrayed that a private establishment allows suspicious individuals inside and then offers no substantial help. The security presence seems pointless if they cannot prevent such incidents. It was an incredibly frustrating experience, with losses valued over £500, and I didn't even receive an apology for what happened. It's not even about the monetary value; it’s the information on my hard drive that matters most.

Spacious for a central location. My main issue is that I was charrged twice for a round of drinks. The staff claimed the first payment hadn't gone through. It had. Ironically the staff said it happens all the time! Why don't I find that comforting?

Cracking place to watch the footy. Stumbled in as the pub nearby was missing commentary and dirty tables. Was greeted when we came in and had a wonderful night. Banging tunes after the game and at halftime, speedy service and vibes were great. Will be recommending this and will be back for more matches! Special shout out to the managers Danae and Fieldie who welcomed us in and gave brilliant service!

We went to watch the match, the atmosphere was nice, but there was a synchronization problem between the TVs. It was like we had spoilers in the goals. I was upset that they didn't play the audio of the match after some of it:/ If you're not going to do it, don't hang a huge sign at the entrance saying there's a match broadcast. To the next matches

I visited the Spice of Life for a meal in between the Harry Potter plays at the Palace Theatre next door. The pub was very busy but I’d been reserved a table as I’d booked ahead. I was joined by a lad who’d had a bit too much to drink and the bar staff were immediately on it and moved me somewhere more secluded near the bar where they kept a watchful eye for the duration of my visit there (and dealt with the inebriated chap in a polite but firm manner). I was extremely grateful for this and surprised that the situation had been noticed given how crowded the pub was on a Friday evening. The food was delicious (I had a veggie cauli and broccoli bake).

We went for the Tuesday night comedy in the basement. Had never been to a comedy show like this before and it was not an intimidating environment at all. The host was great and while not every act nailed it we laughed a lot and really enjoyed seeing people try out new jokes and interact with the audience. Would definitely go back.

Nice pub, ideally located next door to the palace theatre, we booked a table here for dinner in between the two Harry Potter shows and it worked out perfectly. The staff are very friendly and helpful, sadly a few things we wanted to order were not on the menu but the food that we did order was nice and reasonable value for money. It was also good to be able to reserve a table online so we didn’t have to risk not being able to have a seat as it does get quite busy. There is indoor and outdoor seating and they do hold various events there too. The cheesecake was not my favourite but the brownie was delicious and the breaded mushrooms were great.
