A local British pub atmosphere, by far the best fish and chips I've had in London. The fried shrimp and squid are also delicious~

Wonderful food one of the best pub food.

Service was very quick which was great as we were going to the theatre, the only complaint was that the bread in our sandwich was stale

Excellent “pub” in the busy Soho neighborhood. There were 7 of us and they treated us wonderfully. Ideal for ordering a pint beer and something to snack on (sausages highly recommended). The fish and chips are a little expensive but the sauces are very delicious.

Great pub atmosphere. The smoked haddock fish cake was particularly awesome. Decent prices in the heart of Piccadilly Circus.

We just went in here on the off chance and was pleasantly surprised. The food, staff and atmosphere were fantastic. Would highly recommend it.

The staff were very accommodating even as they were at capacity. The food was the best pub food I can imagine and the atmosphere was great. Great selection on Tap and every food item my group ordered was flawless.

Had a couple of beers before the Champions League final. The bartender was surprised that there were football fans ready for charging already at 11, but it worked out.

Nice English pub with delicious food.

Awful experience!!!! The pub is Ok, but the man who serves at the bar, the so called "bald italian" is so rude, and even agressive, that spoiled our time there !!! No pacience and no education at all !!!! Clearly me and friends won't return there because of him !!!

We liked this place and had a very good lunch. We are just disappointed with the service provided by Alina (it seems to me) very unpleasant with customers who do not necessarily understand English. Not smiling, not patient and unpleasant.

Atmosphere of a traditional London tavern, Josh at the bar is pure vibe, great menu recommendations and traditional beers.

My wife and I both ordered the fish sandwich on white bread. Totally disappointed in that the amount of fish on each sandwich probably totaled one ounce.

Came here with a friend for lunch. Nice atmosphere & friendly staff. My friend had the fish & chips while I went for the spicy chicken burger. Both were very tasty & could tell freshly prepared. Even though they state the spicy sauce is hot it's not too hot. I would say more mild - medium so was just right. Reasonable prices as the two meals plus a soft drink each came to just over £45. Would happily recommend.

I would recommend the Tavern to anybody! We went there with our 2y Child and everyone was so politely!!

A warm welcome at St James for a very hearty fish and chips dish, obviously quick and efficient, when we are in England we will come back without hesitation.

Great pub l, fantastic location. I didn't eat but most of the customers were eating and the food looked good.

The waiter couldn't be more unpleasant and aggressive with the customers. We left without consuming anything.

Always a great pleasure to be shouted at by a shabby waiter who strongly resembles his fish and chips not fresh. Avoid unless you have a problem.

I enjoyed the fish and chips! There are a lot of customers drinking in the evening. It's very noisy. But the fish and chips are delicious It was good, and the draft beer was good too.

Great location in the center of all events. The view of the building in which the pub is located is simply unforgettable, as is the atmospheric interior design. But that's half the battle. The staff is very customer-oriented, it is impossible to stay even for a moment with an empty glass. And they pour such wonders there as the great London Pride from the Fuller brewery, not to mention Guinness. The food was really good, we tried the fish & chips and the classic burger. Fish without excess breading with delicious peas, solid and nicely assembled burger. Whenever we are in London, we always visit it, sometimes even three times a day. The added value of the pub is Mr. Rafał, the bartender with whom you can talk about music or sports. Thank you!!! See you next time! PS: I rate the service as 6 stars, but there is no scale.

I think fish and chips at Piccadelli Circus are good to eat when you're hungry! It comes with mint sauce, so if you don't like it, it would be better to ask if it comes with peas. I asked for more tartar sauce and they just gave it to me. Great service 👍 The beef pie tasted like there was soybean paste in the pie.

We went here for fish and chips around 2pm in the hope that it would be a little less busy as we were traveling with a stroller. It was pretty full but the bartender came straight away and said he would have a seat for us in 5 minutes. Very attentive and nice staff. The food was great too!

We ate excellent fish and chips in a typical pub atmosphere. The staff was super friendly and even adapted to meet the children's constraints. Great find for us and thanks again to the waiter for his kindness.

Nice place to chill. Service is nice and situated in a centre location. Prices are normal. It's definitely good to have a pit stop here or enjoy for a long stay.

Great pub next to Piccadilly, not too busy and I can find a table on Saturday night. We have a Guinness pint for £6.75, normal London price. The people at my side were playing cards that is so british thing. I like the atmosphere and the people here

The music is loud and the atmosphere in the bar is lively, but you can see a lot of families traveling there. Staff are friendly The meat pie that won the 2023 award listed on the menu was bland, and the roasted carrots with soy sauce were only delicious. Fish and chips are average There is a lot of quantity

After advice we paid a visit to the St James Tavern ….. lovely looking pub just off Piccadilly … walked in, found a seat and I went and ordered drinks …. I went for the local Fuller London Pride …. Good bar service, service with a smile … went back to the table … sat with my significant other for about 3 minute when a tall unshaven gentleman came and started to dictate that we were sat on a reserved table , then proceeded to show me the “reserve” sign that was hiding behind the menus …. There was no ask to move , we were told ….. because of the abruptness we didn’t move , yet slowly drank up and left without eating (which was our intention) such a shame as the atmosphere was good , the bar service was good , yet the guy who spoke to us lack customer service skills … such a shame after the recommendation to attend your establishment …. Thank you bar staff, get some training front of house bloke !!!

Nice environment, welcoming and with beautiful music. We were able to eat with the whole family, in London this is not always the case because there are some pubs that do not allow children/teenagers inside. All the food and beer were very good.

It's a very busy pub, so be careful because you might not find a seat. Not a very large place and a classic English pub. Nothing exceptional.

Very ornate classic looking Britisher pub. Can be full of tourists because of its location. Staff are really friendly and the food was good and really quick to come out. You can chance getting a table or reserve one. People are in and out quite quickly. They have big tellies too so you could watch the rugby and football in there.

I tipped £5, ordered food and a beer, with the intent to buy more drinks. I sat down at a 4 seater table at 11:00. The place was empty, around 17 open tables. One waitress told me to move to a small table, sandwiched between 4 guests. I told her given the empty pub, that didn't make sense. It didn't give me any room. When a party of 4 came in, a different waitress came by 10 minutes later and told me to move. There are 12 other 4 seaters, but she insisted on my table. I moved to avoid a scene but It was humiliating and I won't be back. The pub had 14 open tables upon leaving.

Have been here on multiple occasions and have always had an incredible experience, particularly with the service! Both Emily and Ollie always make me feel welcome, pouring a perfect pint and creating a warm atmosphere! Last night in particular had the best service from all the staff members, plus the music was perfect! Would highly recommend this pub!

The bald Italian guy was very kind and found us a table immediately. We had three fish and chips which were massive! A little too much for us to finish. Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting the area.

I loved the place. The food was really good. I strongly recommend the beef pie. The sausages were also good. My boyfriend and I had these two dishes and a beer and a cider. The price was 55 pounds, not too expensive. And the music was lovely!! The waiter was very nice too. It was the first time that I tried typical English pub food and I think I made a good choice doing it here.

Pop in here for a drink and to rest our legs from all the walking. Polite staff, quick service, and really nice atmosphere. Enjoyed our drinks and then ordered a snack to tide us over until we went to our restaurant booking later. Would highly recommend this pub. It gets busy quickly, but this is due to its popularity.

The waitress and the servicie were aweful. The beers are good, and the food regular, but the people were rude. So I wouldn't go again.

Absolutely appalling server 😂 almost a joke. We had simple questions about the menu, our bill… and he rolled his eyes everytime and made us feel so unwelcome. How disappointing, especially as we had a very large group and spent a lot of money! Not sure I’d come back, but that’s just because of the service, nothing else.

Terrible staff. Terrible beer pouring technique. The bald Italian guy is rude and needs to learn to pour the beer. Absolutely embarrassing the Guiness he was trying to serve me.

Great food, great choice of beers and good music selection. We had fish and chips and a typical English meat-based dish. The portions are generous and the price is in line with that of London pubs.

Down from Scotland with my mum for a few days and found this fab wee pub, had dinner....fish and chips....absolutely fantastic. Beautiful thick white fish and the best batter ever, along woth a few wee drinks of course 😉 . Staff were fantastic and friendly, making sure we wer OK and comfortable. Quite a few seats were reserved but they wer for a couple hours later so we were given a table no problem. But....if u r thinking of going at night I think u should book as we were leaving about 6ish and it was steadily filling up. Great atmosphere and background music. Tyvm to the fabulous staff, I just been to remember where it is for my next trip 😀

I visited it because it was close to my accommodation, and it was noisy and full of locals. There are a variety of beers and cocktails. I didn't order any snacks, but it didn't look like there was anything worth eating. Recommended if you like loud and lively pubs! It's a bit difficult to have a conversation with my group.

Frozen steak tastes like frozen Charal burger, very disappointed. Exorbitant price for the quality served. Even the beers are of poor quality. Catching tourists to escape

Friendly staff, Ok-priced pints (for London!). It's a shame they cut corners with the food, like using instant mashed potatoes, since it's tasty otherwise.

Because we ordered a small light meal, we were full. The service seats you, but you order and pay immediately at the bar.

There were 3 girls serving behind the bar and only one of the paid enough attention to serve anyone - unfortunately I got reluctantly served by another girl who treated me as if I was a hassle to order a couple of pints and sausage rolls. Food and drink were ok but the service was disgusting- if people come to work in a place like that and don’t want to be there then they should stay at home.

First time visitor and so pleased we changed our arm. Quite a busy Friday night but plenty of staff so hardly any wait for drinks. Food was delicious, well presented and hot and arrived really quickly. Staff were friendly and attentive and a big thank you to the door staff for finding us a table tucked in the corner but still part of the atmosphere. A last minute decision to not go straight home from work could have been a lottery but turned out to be really enjoyable experience all round. Glad we found this little gem. Mains of fish and signature burger were great but the smores brownie stole the show. Won't hesitate in coming back.
