Just in the Southport Tavern, what a fantastic night out on a Sunday 😍 would recommend booking for bingo and then karaoke, such a great night, the atmosphere was fabulous and such a good laugh, the host Steve was fun, charming and a great sense of humour, please give it a visit you won’t regret it, we will be back for sure 😍😍

I’ve been to a few bars in Southport in time & I must say since this is one has opened it’s been the best by far! It would only let me pick one month on my review but I have been in on many occasions! It has a fantastic venue with big tellies for sports & bingo/quiz nights & lively Live music playing without a doubt! It is always spotlessly clean! The staff & new manager who has took over are all so welcoming, a new Scottish lady ( sorry I can’t remember the lady’s name ) has become a new staff member recent & she fits in so well with the pub & the staff & it makes the pub more welcoming & friendly to come into it! I would 100% recommend the tavern to anyone! One amazing run pub! ❤️

Great local pub. Live sports all around the bar. Clean floors and tables. First place to go just outside the train station after a long day at work with a cosy front room, darts board and pool tables kept us entertained for hours! Live Bingo and Quiz with generous cash prizes. Weekly Southport brewery Ale 🍺 Karaoke and live music on the weekend. Lovely welcoming and friendly staff. This place has been through several different evolutions since becoming the tavern. It finally feels like we are getting back to a safe, family friendly place to go. Problems are being dealt with swiftly and it's a great place for watching the football

I pop here for early afternoon beer or two, cask ales supplied by Southport brewery always well maintained, and served by friendly cheerful staff. Perfect if you've been shopping.

Second time I've been in since the new management took over. I was pleasantly surprised to see that it's back to how it was a few years ago. Decent beer, reasonably prices and more importantly back to being a friendly hassle-free pub.

What an absolute delight to come and stop here for a few pints today. Great friendly atmosphere, and great drinks at reasonable prices. The difference in what this place used to be, to what it is today is 'night & day'. They've certainly got it right this time. I'll definitely be coming back for more. Huge thumbs up from me ....👍

Came in off the train and was extremely surprised. It’s fabulous. This isn’t a dead end pub anymore it’s great. Who ever is doing the job they are doing it very well. Y This pub is welcoming friendly and warm. It’s a million miles away from the place I’ve visited before. Go there and support this place. Live music Saturdays but loads of other things to do. I believe the person in charge will listen to you and may accommodate requests if is viable. We’ve got a pub back. This could be a great music venue for this town. I hope so. Cheers Kev.

Came this evening with our ladies bike club and were made very welcome by Steve. The place has had a huge refurb and is looking great even though he tells us theres even more to be done! We were too late to join the quizz but sat in the Snug where we chatted over our drinks.

We had heard the Tavern served Southport Brewery ales so decided to have a look for ourselves. We weren’t disappointed. The beer was great, the wine was good and the music was pleasantly relaxing. Several TVs around showing a variety of sports, and there appears to be plenty of activities going on throughout the week (quiz, karaoke etc). The staff were very friendly and helpful. A great night was had and we’ll definitely be going back.

A recent refurb under new manager, Steve, has seen this place be revamped from a dive bar to one of the best real ale venues found in Southport. Focusing on local breweries, they can only grow in reach and flavour due to their attention to detail and care of cask ale. Highly impressed!
