Called in on a trip to Exmoor. An unpretentious cafe that seemed to be much frequented by locals. Had vegetarian breakfasts, which were cooked to perfection. There are numerous breakfast choices and you're encouraged to mix and match if you wish. Only downside was the absence of vegetarian sausages.

Excellent food stopped in for two full English breakfasts didn't want tomatoes on both of them so was offered an extra slice of bacon. Didnt have to wait to long for food to arrive when it did was clearly freshly cooked & piping hot. Food was not over priced & polite & professional service highly recommended.

We tried to go here yesterday morning for breakfast, as we arrived we waited by the door for service for a good 5 minutes. Wasn't the end of the world as we took the opportunity to look at menu's and decide what we'd like. The coffee that the customers who were sat down drinking looked good and we had all seen something we liked the sound of. However when we were finally approached by a member of staff they told us they were just doing takeaways.. in spite of the fact there were 6 + people already sat in.

Delicious freshly cooked and hot. Only criticism would be the skin on the premium sausage was tough and chewy

Was recommended to us, unfortunately although the staff were friendly, they weren’t very ...smart, as in hair greasy, clothing not really suitable for serving food ,almost like we interrupted spring cleaning , chef whites weren’t white! Maybe we caught them on the wrong day. I had a panini, flavours lovely, hubby liked his panini but cold, we’d waited quite awhile for it and they were serving three tables, and off the street for counter foods but cold, no garnish, chips nice. We sat in the garden that needs a serious make over , they have a free range rabbit so keep dogs on leads.

Lovely food and friendly service. Fried breakfast was almost perfect and poached eggs on toast were perfectly cooked. Venue could do with a little bit of a tidy up but was out of season .....

Visited for a bite of lunch with my son and two young grandsons. The cafe was busy but we didn't have long to wait. Very friendly and the food was really tasty. Good quality bread and the bacon was delicious, served with a smile which is always appreciated. Thank you.

Excellent food and service. Tables always cleaned. Food looks good and not just thrown on the plate like some places. In summer the garden area is lush especially for your little ones. Accomdating for little ones and always very friendly and make you feel welcome. One of my 6 year olds favourite places. Highly reccomend

Been to this cafe several times in the past few weeks and every time I’ve been impressed with the food and service. The owners are very friendly and ensure that you are well looked after. There is a nice little garden for those who smoke. Sandwiches, cakes and nicely cooked meals are provided at a very reasonable price. Excellent. Worth a visit.

We are regulars in South Molton and tried this cafe for the first time as it is convenient to the pannier market. Except for the lovely lady who waited on us, a disappointment - the cappuccino is made with instant coffee - at £1.30 an instant milky coffee is a bargain but not what we ordered. The baked goods were a bit stale. The cafe is clean and the menu looks OK with vegetarian options so maybe lunch would be a better choice.

Visited for lunch - seating area is a little dingy. Ordered sausage rolls, coffee and cream cake. The coffee was ok, not great but not bad. The sausage roll was very greasy and the cream cake was so stale it could have been used as a weapon. Very disapointing.

comfort food of home made cottage pie, yes, good old traditional british fare not messed about with garlic etc. How I enjoyed this substantial meal served up with veg and a smile from the friendly chef who appeared in his kitchen whites! There is a nice garden at the back where dogs are welcome on a lead but not in the main cafe. Wished I had come here months ago, will certainly return.

Have paid several visits to the South Street Kitchen when I've been staying in South Molton. It's a basic little cafe, homely, with good solid wooden tables and chairs, none of the modern plastic or metal variety! Four of us usually breakfast together there and the breakfasts are great (well, we go back don't we!). There is a choice of about 6 different versions of cooked breakfast; I usually go for the veggie option that includes scrambled eggs cooked to perfection, others always choose the Farmers Choice Breakfast - 2 of everything, and the fourth always goes for Full English, which is exactly what it says it is. Prices vary between £5.50 - £6.50 which includes a tea or coffee and toast. Recommended.

Found this cafe in South Street, South Molton, Devon and glad we did. Fab menu, can thoroughly recommend the Farmers Choice breakfast, two of everything, sausage, egg, bacon, hash browns, also mushrooms and beans. Couldn't finish it all and it was delicious. All for £6.50. Just do tea or coffee, no fancy coffee but that doesn't matter. The rest of the daytime menu looked great. Lunches looked good, cottage pie, soups etc. and they also did a take away menu. I would recommend and may even go back there soon.

My sister and brother in law wanted to treat me to a special meal. They booked the Taster Menu for the 3 of us. The waitress was very attentive and gave wonderful service. However we were not offered the wines to go with the taster menu which seemed odd if you are having a taster meal. When the ‘amuse bouché’ arrived there was only 2 portions and we were told it was a sharing plate, really? No mention of that on the menu. The meal was very slow coming out and when it did it was extremely salty. To say I was embarrassed for my sister who wanted to treat me, is an understatement so much so that I actually paid the bill. I’m afraid I am probably spoilt by eating in France most of the time, but my impression of this restaurant is that it’s over pretentious and sadly not brilliant. Although a fabulous location with great views, I do not wish to return.

One of the most amazing burgers I have ever eaten, it was a unanimous feeling of the group. The 1/2 pounder burger was insanely good, would genuinely make another trip just to eat that burger again! The food was hot and really tasty, just all round 10/10!

Buy fish and chips from here quite often and usually very good. Today not so good. Fish was OK, peas were sloppy and not very warm and the chips were quite obviously reheats from lunchtime - overcooked with a texture like rubber. Very disappointed!

The food at the van takes too long and was cold. The cheese wasn't melted and there was too much barbecue sauce.
