This is a great cafe supporting a fantastic charitable cause (the Nelson Trust). Lovely array of cakes and hot food. It's a regular haunt of mine as I hold all my business meetings there and quite a few personal ones as well. Easy parking at Waitrose, around 5 minutes, gentle walk away.

Lovely cafe with nice coffee, friendly service and tasty food, including veggie options. Good playlist when we visited on a Friday morning - jazz, reggae and soul. Will definitely go back.

Early morning networking meeting in the Sober Parrot is always good. They try really hard to make everyone feel welcome and accommodated.

Popped in for coffee and cake. Thankyou for encouraging us to try the vegan cake after we said we had never tasted a good vegan cake. We had the carrot cake and pistachio cake both vegan and they were very good. Easily the best vegan cake we have tried.

Wonderful ethical cafe with good food, reasonably priced, great selection of freshly cooked vegan food. Staff are fantastic and atmosphere is cosy and welcoming. We went twice in two days. Enough said.

First Xmas meal! Fantastic turkey dinner (with smaller option for me!) and probably the best mince pie ever!! We were so lucky being strangers in Cheltenham to chance upon this lovely cafe!!

Not for profit, charity run, lovely cafe a few minutes walk from the high street. Super food, better prices than the big chains, warm, welcoming, games corner, super 😊

Excellent food - both classic everyday breakfast-type and imaginative, healthy options. I had a bacon, brie & cranberry sourdough toastie and my frien had the 'parrot bowl'. Both really good. Warm, friendly atmosphere. Outside seating area is comfortable. A hidden gem.

I love this place as somewhere to go, do my work, drink good coffee and have amazing breakfast and brunch. The charity aspect of the place makes ut even better.

The meal I wanted (from the menu) had run out. My alternate meal took a while to arrive but it was good food and reasonably priced.

Absolutely delightful venue, delicious 😋 coffee, milk variants on offer and Chef even got me 🍯 honey from the kitchen as I prefer it to sugar. Agata who greeted me was warm, friendly yet professional and nothing was too much trouble. Surroundings were clean and inviting and toilets were a delight, fresh smiling and impeccably clean! I shall definitely return and strongly recommend 👌 for business, pleasure and networking.

Wonderful cafe serving tremendous food at excellent prices. The staff are lovely and attentive. As someone who doesn't drink its a great place to go for lunch or just hang out with friends and family.

Went with the family to the re-opening today; such good food and great service. A hidden gem for sure.

Really like this casual cafe, they have some good DJ nights and other events and easy to strike up convo with staff & regulars. Cant wait till they re open in spring we hope!!

Great place - amazing coffee and cakes, food is great quality and leaves you feeling good, super staff, welcoming atmosphere, child friendly (toddler grazing plates available), disabled access friendly (just say hi through the window and they will show you the way). We don’t bother going anywhere else :) ooh and it’s supporting a charity so you don’t even need an excuse to go!

Un excelente restaurante sin fines de lucro dirigido por Nelson Trust. Tenía el carnoso inglés completo que consistía en lonchas de tocino y salchichas de buena calidad. Pedimos un par de cambios en el contenido del desayuno y estos fueron acomodados sin problemas por parte del personal que era joven y muy eficiente. ¡Muy recomendable!

Generally I have recommended this caffe to others, however I get a sense that this customer gets the ‘chef-of-the-day’ interpretation of what’s on the menu. I had previously enjoyed their “ Bacon, Brie and Cranberry” on a Ciabatta Roll , it was exactly that - two generous rashers of meaty (not fatty nor stringy) bacon with a proper amount of Brie spread on a fresh, crusty Ciabatta roll and adorned with dried Cranberries. Today I got, what appeared to be , Chopped Ham warmed in a sloppy white sauce spread on a soft roll ( it was like a stretched bap !) with a smear of Raspberry jam added for effect, ( I’m not daft; Cranberries don’t have Raspberry seeds!? and they are not sweet). Their loose tea is a might weak for my taste, letting it brew longer in the pot only serves to make it bitter, not stronger. In the words of General MacAthur, “ I shall return” - but they need to up their game if they want to keep this regular customer. Dis 1

Lovely staff. Food is wholesome and good value. The chai latte with homemade syrup is incredible, particularly with a shot on gingerbread.

Met a friend here for lunch as it was away from the Christmas Shopping melee and looked interesting. A great find. The cafe is alcohol free (but don't let that put you off because they have a great range of mocktails and alcohol free beers) but the food is amazing. A really interesting menu and all beautifully prepared and served by really friendly staff. It can be a little noisy for older people when its full (all hard floors and surfaces to reflect the noise) but its very worth a visit (or several). My new 'go to' place for meeting friends in Cheltenham.

4 of us had Christmas lunch and it was excellent-one gluten free totally catered for including stuffing gravy and cauliflower cheese! Such a treat with loads of vegetables beautifully cooked plenty of roast potatoes &parsnips! Excellent helpful staff thanks Sam. Their brunch is great too!

A friend and myself came here for brunch on Sunday and was just wonderful! Lovely atmosphere in the cafe, we both had the veggie breakfast which was brilliant and the staff were so accommodating and friendly! Would 100% recommend - will definitely be back!

Great unique place! I love non alcoholic cocktails as I can have fun experiencing all these different flavour combinations and could drink the whole menu if I wanted to :-). Staff is really friendly and professional and place is cosey and convenient close to town and car park. Good food selection too and live music on occasions.

We had the all day breakfast option - I went for Vegan and my fiance had the meaty one. Hands down the BEST vegan breakfast I have EVER had. lovely coffee in actual mugs not thimbles.Great service, great atmosphere. Can't wait to go again. :)Thanks Sober Parrot team.

I came here for brunch with the family. The food was really good - especially the salmon and eggs on sourdough and the mac and cheese.

We continue to visit this place on as regular basis as possible (including yesterday for a much needed hangover cure), primarily for brunch with the amazing kedgeree being a firm favourite. It doesn't come much better than what they cook here with a very nice hint of spice and very ample portion size.

Light, airy, clean. Great food. Excellent range of soft drinks. They have a very good meeting room at the back on the top floor.

I heard two people on the bus into Cheltenham talking about it, and after I had finished what I was doing I called in. I had the Vegetarian breakfast which was one of the best I have had. Tasty beans, and they even made the spinach taste great. Would definitely recommend.

We live about 5 minutes walk away and we go out for breakfast a couple of times a month. We used to go different places but now we always go here!! The breakfast is excellent, and so is the coffee! Would recommend!!

I just had a pot of tea and a pain au chocolat, not a lot to say about it but it was all good. the staff were freindly and the service was up to the mark!

I visited the cafe today (29.8.19) at around 11 am and there were two people ( man and a woman) working on the counter. They were super friendly and really went the extra mile to be smiling and helpful.

Found on TripAdvisor whilst looking for a good lunch spot in Cheltenham. A little off the beaten path but definitely worth those few extra minutes getting there. Friendly staff, bright and colourful surroundings, tasty ciabattas and big portions (salad and crisps included!). There seems to be a vibrant events scene here and it’s a non-profit charity to boot. Would definitely come back next time we’re in Cheltenham.

While strolling in this lesser-known part of Cheltenham, we came upon the Sober Parrot and thought it was joking about being alcohol-free. But yes - it's community business that supports local good causes and focuses on serving delicious meals, lush mocktails and lots of coffee and tea options. Our group of friends could actually have a conversation here - no blaring muzak or crazy hubbub as in other eateries nearby. Overall, it was a great experience to eat well while feeling we were helping the community. Makes me wonder why this is a rarity - such a great idea.

We love this as an alternative to the much busier Boston Tea Party. The food and coffee is much better too. There is less choice of food but there are still plenty of good options, all of which surpass BTP. The food is probably more suitable for adults, no kids menu.

We fell upon this wonderful cafe by accident. And what a pleasure.

Love this place. So many tasty veggie options but also meat options too. Great for a brunch type meal, all day breakfast or that sort of thing. The mocktails are also delicious too and feel like a full on cocktail, nothing sad and boring about them! Service can be a bit on the slower side but it's all for a good cause and some of the staff are in training. Perfect easy weekend lunch or brunch during a visit to the town centre with parking just over the road in a large car park

Found this lovely cafe when wandering around Cheltenham. Just had a flat white and croissant so can't comment on the cooked menu - however the food looked great! Friendly staff, nice surroundings and atmosphere. Also great value for money.

Having spent the past six months visiting many different breakfast houses in the area, we, The Cheltenham Gentelman’s Breakfast Club believe the search has finally ended for the holy grail.

Gorgeous place with lots of places to hide an read a book or watch the world go but. Plenty of vegan options too. Staff always smiley and friendly. They always have time and patience for anyone. New favourite coffee shop!

Great coffee and cakes in a non corporate cafe

Recent visit to meet with a group of friends who come here regularly and have always spoken highly of it. Now I’ve been I totally agree. The macaroni cheese was soooo good! Nice and roomy. Relaxed. Friendly staff. Will be coming back here again and again.

A lovely relaxed arty vibe, alcohol free, great brunch food and friendly service.

We went here for a lunch-hour lunch for a change, as the menu looked interesting - we chose spanish omlette and a red lentil dhal dishes with salad and breads. Friendly service, and reasonably speedy given it was fairly full. Different range of soft drinks from the usual fayre too. Quality was fine, and value good too. All in all a good stop off, not far and an easy stroll from the town centre.

Visited with friends, they were very accommodating to our party of 7. We had coffee, hot chocolates for the children (which were a big hit!), pastries and brownies which were all great. The menu looked fantastic with many vegan options. Staff were very friendly and really liked the not for profit ethos of the place and community feel.

Sip many places to eat in this town but this was recommended and came up trumps. We had smoked salmon and scrambled egg, and a sweet potato and leek soup both served with sourdough bread and both delicious. The coffee was excellent (salted caramel latte, topped with golden sugar crystals) and the service very friendly.

Visited today for lunch having never been before. I was blown away by the food and friendly service. It’s very reasonably priced and clearly homemade. I had the mac n cheese which was delicious and a large potion. My mum had the hash bakes which were equally brilliant and there was no problem to change the fried eggs to poached eggs. Drinks were great and the service is very friendly. Low prices for the quality of food. This will become our new regular! Well worth a visit.

I have been to The Sober Parrot a few times now and the staff are always super friendly and helpful. The food is amazing and it's a very comfortable place to eat. I look forward to when they start doing events there, music etc.

Came across this new venture by accident whilst walking around the district. Charismatic little building which was once a restaurant. Now refurbished into a unique establishment which trades on good coffee/teas, home made cakes and non alcoholic refreshments.

This has become a regular haunt for us since we first discovered it - mainly our weekly ‘treat’ after our Friday morning gym session.

What a delightful cafe. The fact that this is charity makes it particularly wonderful. It’s great to know that your money is being recycled into helping people recover from alcohol addiction. In any event the menu is great and the food delicious. The seating, atmosphere and customer service also very friendly and comfortable.
