The Smugglers Inn in Cornwall, Isles of Scilly

Absolutely fabulous meal today. Prawn starter with proper sized prawns. Hotpot was delicious. Cannot fault either the staff or the service. A definite return in the offing. Highly recommend this place and the atmosphere was lovely. Thank you for a wonderful lunch.

Nice pub, nice service Had a snack and drinks, but spent a very nice hour after our hike. You could definitely go out for a real meal...

Cracking breakfast and ideal location

Staff really friendly, food fabulous. Obviously being Autumn it was very quiet. They do lots of activities like murder mysteries etc ( price includes a two course meal £38 per person) which I think is very reasonable. Not sure whether they do rooms to stay I think it's just a good drinks and entertainment establishment.

Had an incredible meal at The Smugglers Inn with a meal for two voucher we’d won at one of their previous bingo nights. Food was delicious and high quality and the staff were lovely too. Would definitely recommend eating here as had lovely cozy vibe and great location.

Lovely pub, food was good (the grown up burger was excellent!) and fairly reasonable for the location. However, service was EXTREMELY slow. Mains took almost an hour to be served and ended up having to ask where the desserts were. They were busy and it's end of season, but they definitely need more wait staff.

Had a ham salad sandwich . Not cheap . It took about 25 minutes to arrive .No butter on the bread , lovely ham but not sliced it was chunked, not easy to eat , chunks of tomato even the lettuce was unpleasant . Hate to complain but you would think not a lot could go wrong with a sandwich, not pleasant .

Very friendly inn with great service. My only dislike was I found where they seated us was poorly lit. We had the carvery which was great apart from the swede being too peppery and I received ice in my drink when I had asked for none. Our puddings were lush and we will be returning.

Unsafe establishment and poorly trained staff, avoid at all costs. Go next door instead. Staff keep responding to my review talking about my age? Not sure why as I’m 46 and my daughter had an allergic reaction here.

Nice dog friendly pub. Small slope or steps down to cobbled courtyard. Sat in the aun with a nice drink.

Can't comment about rooms but food and location great . The other food place in town were not doing food so went here , glad we did .

Excellent service and located right by the beach. Lovely, polite staff who couldn't do enough for us. My husband had the Chilli con carne and I had nachos with beef chilli and we both thoroughly enjoyed our food. Highly recommend. Will definitely be visiting again. Thank you 😊

Omg!! Service amazing, interior fun and then the food omg omg. Eating the ultimate burger has given me one of those moments where you are so greatful for every decision that has lead me to this moment. You know the food is good when you immediately leave a review to tell the world.

Staff need some formal training. The plowmans and kids ham, egg and chips was amazing, how I had the lasagna and my other daughter had the fish and chips. I've never had a dry lasagna before, the taste was there but dry and not cheesy, the fish was full of bones. Told the staff and they said they would " tell the chef"? On walking out a lady at the bar had to ask two members of staff if she could actually have her coffee, 4 times before they give it to her, it had already been made. Could be a very nice place if more training on staff

Had a few meals here but about a month ago we were shocked by the service we got. My wife has a severe cucumber allergy, we informed the waitress ( never been a problem before here), explaining it was a contamination allergy so if the chef doesnt touch cucumber and touch her food or have any cucumber on or in food for her she would be fine. She went to tell chef, came back and said he had said maybe better we eat somewhere else! Wow being a chef myself my employers would have sacked me for this response to a customer. I said could i speak with him as its not serious if no cucumber touches the food. He was sooooo busy he couldnt come out ( two other tables), we decided to continue as my wife had scampi so not high risk. Is this the way you treat any customers with difficult diets or allergies? Havent been back as we were annoyed by his attitude. The funniest thing was a large allergy poster on wall next to our table , better take it down if your not cooking for people with allergies

This is a lovely place and very dog friendly 😁 you can sit outside on the front or a little closer to the building under the canopy. It’s really pretty with all of the flowers in full bloom. The waiter was Canadian and a lovely lad but not very friendly about the seagulls and said he had man handled one to get it away from the table which I didn’t really need to know, being an animal lover 🙈 lol. He said he picked it up and threw it or words to that effect. It’s lovey and clean and you don’t have to wait too long for your food after you’ve ordered it. The staff are all lovely and welcoming ☺️ and a great place to eat inside or outside with your dogs. We had 2. It’s right across the road from the beach and a big grass patch just in front just incase your fur babies need somewhere to have a little walk around. There’s a play area there too just in front but to the right, which was great for the kids. An ice cream hut with snacks also just on the front of the place next to the seating area, so nice if you just wanted a little snack or a coffee. Would definitely recommend ☺️

An hour after the kitchen closed, I stumbled in from the south west coastal path. I was knackered, and chef Paul sorted me out with a banger of a tuna sandwich with sides. Hugely appreciated. Great grub, top beers and super helpful staff! Cheers Paul

Lovely friendly pub that caters for dogs even having a doggy menu brilliant .The food for us humans is great all freshly cooked to perfection and very generous sized portions served nice and hot. Highly recommend you pop in if in the area or make a point of visiting 😀 🙃🙂👍👍👍👍👍

One of the best carvery's in Cornwall, if not the best.

What an amazing place for a Sunday carvery. Right by the beach, plenty of parking and good quality fresh food. The staff are very friendly and it has a lovely atmosphere

Lovely food ... don't have a starter if you're contemplating the Ploughman's 🤣. Friendly staff and definitely dog friendly. And they do Jack Rabbit Malbec (red) ... there is a God!!

This is a lovely pub. The food is delicious and well cooked. The best cup of tea that I have ever had when out. I know that this is a pub however I had tea and decent size mug and enough for two cups!

What can I say about this beautiful pub/restaurant. It was a lovely experience from the minute we walked in the door. We were greeted by a young lady doing her first shift there. She was excellent. The food is beautiful, generous without being overwhelming. Good selection of main meals and desserts. The bathrooms were vlean and tidy. Would highly recommend it. Great place

This is one of our absolute favourites for a Sunday carvery. No matter what time if year you go its always very busy so it is best to arrive abit earlier incase you can't get parked. The food never fails to be great and has that home cooked feeling to it! Can't comment on the rooms but if they are as clean as the rest of the premises then they will be great! 😊

Absolutely lovely place. Very clean and well-kept. A proper fire, cosy decor, and a really nice atmosphere. Very welcoming and helpful staff, and even met some friendly regulars who recommended the food. (Thank you!) We were just looking for somewhere different to go for lunch, and ended up very happy that we chose to stop here. Definitely planning to return soon, and have recommended to friends and family. Excellent service and a thoroughly lovely lunch.

Traditional pub, good beer, good pub food at reasonable prices. Lots of menu options for your dog. 🙂

Lovely carvery and staff and dogs are welcome too. Would definitely recommend but booking advisable so you're not disappointed, although we didnt have a booking and they were able to get us in but we were only a table of 2!!
