Popped in for a quick one. Nice old fashioned pub.

Great pint of Guinness. Lively traditional boozer which always seems to have something going on in the evenings. Pub quiz on a Monday gets booked up quickly and is great fun. Sport on the tv and reasonable prices for St Ives.

Stopped in here for a quick drink. Ended up staying a few hours. Karaoke was on and lots of people getting up to sing. Was a fun evening. Great service at the bar, good choice of drinks. Great atmosphere.

Thursday night karaoke a great evening if only the staff smiled. Friday night sniffer dogs. Venue emptied and arrests. Never a dull moment!

Love this pub, every time we go st Ives we have to pop in, staff are lovely and the cider is spot on!

Been back to St Ives in June 2024. WOW what a great transformation to toilet facilities. Modernised, working toilets / sinks and hand driers. Huge improvements, well done Castle Inn, back in our favourite pub. Thrilled with th transformation. Loved this pub for many years. Great staff and atmosphere. However the last 2 or 3 years the toilet facilities are absolutely dire. Female toilet are dismal. Saturated urine floors / leaking toilets/ no hot water to wash hands. They smell dreadful. Really spoil the best pub in St Ives. Need a major revamp and clean.

This was the first time I was travelling all alone, after a five-hour train journey I was drained, and I badly needed a drink to feel like myself again. I had read about the Castle Inn from one of the Cornwall city guide sights, this being one of the oldest pubs in the town. I thought of starting my trip with a drink at the pub, I placed my order and while the drink was poured, I realised that I did not have my card on me. I had left it at the hotel, and I felt embarrassed as I explained my situation to the lady on the other side of the bar. I did not have any cash either but not for once did she humiliate or make me feel small, instead she politely offered me the drink without wanting anything in return. It might have been an insignificant gesture for others; however, I was moved by her kindness. The crumpling fear of being harshly judged or scolded for wasting the drink was replaced by a feeling of gratefulness. I thanked her but promised to return to the bar with my card and so I did fifteen minutes later. The simple gesture of giving out a drink for free really moved me, this thing made me feel more confident about my journey.

They are dog friendly but they didn't do food

Probably the best bar in St.Ives. Knocks the Sloop into a cocked hat. Friendly staff & atmosphere, excellent pint of Sea Fury. Just a very nice place to be!

Went on a karaoke night. The staff were lovely and the ambience was good. Had the best time there. Would recommend this place for a night out.

Ordered a takeaway pizza, staff were friendly and very helpful. As I waited for it, locals were chatty & engaging. Fantastic pub & great staff!

So disappointed. Been coming for 25 years. Atmosphere spoilt with loud music. Took some tables away so less seating . Seems to now cater for young people. AND the toilets. Never been good, but no locks on doors, filthy, no hot water, urine on floor, loo seat to small for the pot. Amazingly a sign asking you to make sure you wash your hands. Had to move seats because the smell coming out of them came into the pub. What an awful shame loved this pub always thought it was the best in st ives. Will not be going back

Monday night is quizz night... good fun and great atmosphere but you need to book in advance. Beer helps the quiz.. well organized and slick operation. No food on quizz night

Think there were 4 ales on .usual ales on. looked like a locals pub but it was OK

More interested in the quiz night than serving an outsider ..suppose to be a tourist place ..when the tourist stop coming and these go skint .they will think again when they are pickin up the dole cheque.

Nice, welcoming pub with free WiFi for the teens. Good selection of drinks. Spent an hour here playing cards keeping out of the rain. Staff friendly, chilled, old style pub atmosphere. We always pop in when we're in St. Ives.

It was very quiet when I went in with my dog, but we both received a very friendly welcome! I asked if they did food, which they didn't apart from bar snacks, crisps etc. But I was told I was welcome to grab a pastie or pie from a bakery nearby & eat it there, which I did! All in all a pleasant visit! 👍😁

Our favourite all time pub absolutely ruined! Atmosphere completely destroyed by constant blaring of Sky sports... also good beer choice gone. Criminal

Lovely local pub, barman (David) was great and really interacted with us and gave us great customer service. More welcoming than some other pubs in the area which made us go back again later in the day.

My husband found the castle inn, while I went shopping, so glad he did. Great little pub with the best staff I’ve ever met in a pub. Could have stayed and talked to Jane all day, she was lovely. Will definitely return 😁

Went in to get away from the pouring rain. Surprisingly good , lady on the bar was friendly and welcoming.

If there was a minus star rating , this place deserves it. Loud, Lairy, Rowdy and brings down the tone of the pretty cobbled conservation area of St Ives. I feel sorry for locals. Shame on you Castle Inn.

We’ve been going to the Castle over the last few years. It’s a proper pub with lots of character and charm. Friendly atmosphere and staff. My only regret is that it took us a while to find it.

The Castle Inn is a lovely pub. We just happened to pop in to enquire about food and ended up having a few drinks watching the football on TV. Great atmosphere.

Live music with good crowd on the Friday I went again at work Christmas do so not a regular but was very welcome by all staff and patrons a little crowded and very lively so if you are out for a quiet drink then this not the p place for that at the weekends at least

Staff here were great! Nice drinks and so glad they had non alcoholic options! Sat at the front under the TV and very strong cigarette smell from the doorway coming in.

Absolutely brilliant, there was a guitarist called Dave, can't remember his surname but he was amazing. Friendly staff and a nice place to have a drink or two in.

We went on a Monday night and took part in one of "Liz's Quizzes", which was great fun. The Castle was absolutely packed full, the atmosphere was great, staff friendly and the beer/cider superb. Unfortunately, they weren't doing food on the night so they allowed us to take in Fish and Chips from a local chippy which was a seldom seen and really nice gesture. All in all, a great pub, great atmosphere and good drink.

Had a quiz evening here on holiday, great laughs. Also enjoyed an evening of karaoke! It is your typical old pub, a good local night out. Can get very busy.

Very expensive for drinks, I felt the pub could do with a clean the floor was filthy and the toilets very poor all first impression things

I liked it....went on a Weds afternoon and all the tourist we're in the foodie pubs leaving this one nice and quiet. I loved the stained glass window as can tell by the photo. The Landlady was lovely aswell.

Lovely olde pub unfortunately futuristic prices, 2 pints of Staropramen £11.60. Good music videos from 1970s pumping out the good sound system.

Not going to lie this pub is the only live pub in the area so far of my knowledge. But the service here is a bit tacky. Not sure if I am from London and the expectations are different but you cant be selling the same product for different price to different people and then pretend nothing happened.

Was really hot inside! But that was with music and people dancing.

Was a nice pub, now turned into a loud, horrid venue. Complete with overserved "lads and ladettes" shouting and swearing in the street. Music loud enough to make you question reality. Surely now claiming the crown of biggest dive in St Ives from the infamous 'Three Ferrets'. Avoid at all costs.

Been for Liz's quiz a few times while on holiday in St Ives and it's a great evening. Good selection of drinks and the locals are very friendly.

Boozer that does what it says on the tin. No food, no soft play area, just decent pints, an enviable gin collection and a raft of special nights throughout the week - quiz night, karaoke night etc. Nice, friendly staff, unassuming, unpretentious

Lovely cosy little pub with welcoming and friendly staff and great choice of drinks. Unfortunately the prices are absolutely exorbitant, completely through the roof and almost unaffordable for us, which was very disappointing. Great little place though!

Seriously this pub don’t respect neighbours. They make noise on the street. That’s not live music, because of the weird shouting by people’s karaoke, all houses around pubs cannot sleep at all during the weekend.
