Excellent takeaway burgers and hand cut chips very nicely packaged in recyclable cartons. Good value, too.

The Missus and I had the Yard Bird and the Triple B and must say they were awesome will definitely be going back for more!!

Visited for the first time for my daughter’s birthday. First impressions were good - asked to sanitise hands and then shown to a table sectioned off by Perspex.Service was excellent - the menu was explained and we were asked to download information to Track and Trace. The food was to die for. We variously ordered pulled pork, brisket, ribs and a burger. The portions were substantial and the meat was cooked to perfection.We were lucky to visit as the restaurant was closing that evening in accordance with Welsh Government guidelines. We will definitely visit again when it reopens.

We went there on a Saturday night and it was a great experience. Our waiter was lovely and the food was even better! They told us that the food was running a bit late but we only had to wait 10 minutes.If you want to come here, I recommend reserving your meats a couple of days before to ensure you get what you want! We had the holy trinity for two and it was plenty enough we had to take it home in a doggy bag!

Decided to visit The Smoke House after being recommend by my work mate. Safe to say I wasn’t disappointed! Booked a table for me and my partner in advance. Upon arrival we had to sanitise our hands and scan the Track & Trace, our table was very clean, tidy and had hand sanitiser. Staff were friendly, joyful and fully equipped with PPE. For starters we had chicken wings and halloumi both were amazing. If you like spicy food I highly recommend their Vulcan hot sauce with the wings (you won’t be disappointed) for mains we had ‘The Smoke House’ and ‘Pulled pork with added halloumi’ with sweet potato fries. Both burgers came well presented and tasted perfect! Can’t wait to visit again soon! Thank you for your hospitality!

We had some of the new lunchtime dishes and they were great! Very happy with the covid safety measures, and the service is brilliant.

I came with my husband on a Thursday Lunch time, the lunch menu which is new was very varied offering a great selection of food. I thoroughly enjoyed my beef brisket sandwich. The service was great friendly and professional. Do not hesitate booking for a lunch, dinner or take away we have tried all! Lovely independent restaurant offering fantastic food. Every time I come here I can totally understand why people love this restaurant. We pre ordered online so we the food came out so quick which was great. The staff and service were excellent, and the restaurant felt Covid-safe. With the plastic screens, face masks, social distancing and sanitisers on each table. Our waitress Stephanie was lovely very bubbly and sweet. I had the bbq pulled pork and halloumi burger it's definitely my go to burger which I've had before and it just gets better an better!!

Arrived 10 mins early but table not ready and nowhere to wait inside which was fine, however table still wasn’t ready when we went back. We were asked to wait in the corridor at back that leads to toilets. It was very cold! Some confusion over whether we had pre ordered but they did find order.Ordered wine, wasn’t uncorked but we got other waitress to open for us.Waitress said they only had one plate for us to eat starters off, three of us so one had plate, two attempted to eat off serviettes on table. Waitress did manage to find two more plates as she said she could see we were struggling.Two of the meals, steaks, were cold when they arrived. The waitress said something about not having a heat lamp? Was hard to hear her as music a bit loud. Taken away, mine came back hot but my friends was still cold as evidenced by the butter on top flatly refusing to melt. Waitress did offer to cook a fresh steak but think we had lost faith at this point.Actual food was lovely but overall it was all a bit stressful and disappointing. Waitress said they had not added service charge to bill.

Firstly, I must start by saying this was not our first visit to the Smoke House. We had visited several years ago and enjoyed it so much this was my main reason for returning.Having not eaten out since the start of lockdown, it was difficult to decide which restaurant to visit to celebrate my husbands 53rd birthday this weekend. I decided to surprise him and our 16 year old son with a return visit to the Smoke House and contacted the restaurant via phone and Facebook Messenger to check availability following the 'Firebreak' lockdown. The gentleman I spoke to on the phone initially was extremely helpful, taking my booking for a lunchtime table and informing me that I would be contacted on the Wednesday prior to our booking to pay deposits.The next day, I decided to change our booking for an evening table so we could eat from the dinner menu and contacted The Smoke House via FB messenger - the reply I received confirmed this change would not be a problem - this was a great start!The Wednesday prior to the booking I had not been called for a booking so out of courtesy, on the Friday afternoon (13 November) I rang and offered to pay our deposit of £20 per head as initially requested. I received an apology at this point from the gentleman who answered and was informed that the manager had over-looked 4 tables when ringing on the Wednesday and thanked me for calling. It is safe to say I had had more than the usual contact with the restaurant prior to our arrival on the night.Upon arrival at 5.10pm on Saturday 14 November, we were greeted by a young and what appeared to be fairly inexperienced waitress who showed us to a table without asking if we had booked or taking our names. We were then apologised to by the same waitress for the restaurant not having paper menus and the fact that we had to look at their 'cool coasters' at the menu online. My husband and son had been looking at the online menu earlier in the day and were disappointed at this point to see a much reduced choice with no steaks available. It was at this point I over-heard the waitress informing the one other table of 4 that there was not brisket available and only possibly two portions of pulled pork. Bearing in mind this restaurant is advertised as a BBQ / grill house and the main dishes incorporate these ingredients, I started to become concerned as to what we had arrived to.Our drinks order was taken and at this point I enquired as to whether we had full choice of the 'reduced' menu as we had booked over a week in advance and paid deposits. The waitress said she would speak to the manager (which took close to 10 minutes), she then returned with our drinks and informed us that we could not order any dishes containing brisket or pulled pork as these had been pre-ordered by customers dining later that night. Realising we now only had the choice of burgers or chicken with a side of.....chicken and an extra chicken wing, we asked to speak to the manager who had not intervened at this point as you would have expected.I requested a refund of our deposit and the manager informed me that ALL customers had been asked to pre-order food. ALL customers except us it seems. No attempt was made to rectify the situation or apologise for this immense mistake on their part. In light of the current situation and our attempts to support local businesses we left shocked and appalled by the distinct lack of good management and customer service needed to run a successful business in the hospitality industry. All this bearing in mind that when I first phoned to make the booking I was told I was the first person to book on that day. At NO POINT was I asked to or informed I would be required to pre-book meals. There is no reason we would not have done this had it been requested. The attitude I was met with was shocking and unacceptable.Next time you want to eat out in this area of Cardiff, do yourself a favour, walk two doors past The Smoke House and you will discover 'The Brava Cafe', we were welcomed with excellent customer service, an amazing menu and the most delicious choice of stonebaked artisan pizzas for a fraction of the price. I would not hesitate to visit The Brava Cafe frequently and will be giving it a five-star review following this diabolical experience.

As soon as you walk in, that gorgeous smoked meat smell hits you and it just gets better from thereWe decided on ➡️ The Holy TrinityThe old faithful of St Louis ribs, pulled pork, beef brisket and a chicken wing, served with house bbq sauce, bbq beans and giant onion rings, sweet potato fries and slaw.(We switched up the seasoned skin on fries for sweet potato) Mac n cheese Halloumi Key Lime Pie Salted Caramel Brownie The meats were all just perfect, so juicy and falls clean off those ribs so much variety too, a proper meat lovers treat this‼️ Mac n cheese served in a piping hot skillet with lashings of cheese and some awesome cheese pull The brownie was gorgeousssss, soft, warm and gooey, just how I like it Key lime pie was actually my fav out of the 2 desserts, and I'm not really a citrus person. A lovely bit of zing but not too overpowering, would definitely have this again. Its currently one of the specials Can't wait to go back, their massive burgers look banging too

Had takeaway from here last night and it was fantastic. I Pre-ordered Ribs during the day just to make sure I didn’t miss out and Jaz and her team were quick to respond and my Ribs were booked in (worth while doing) because you don’t want to miss these Ribs!!I had the St. Louis Ribs and they were fantastic, so much meat on the ribs and so tender, fall off the bone and the Smokey taste with the perfect red edging to the meat took me straight back to memories of bbq joints I’ve visited in the states (And as good).The bbq sauce was also a delight, amazingly Rich flavour with a slight bit of heat really complimented the rib meat flavour (I could drink the sauce on it it’s own it’s that nice)The Fries were great and a good sized portion, still crispy after walking them back to the house, the slaw that came along for the ride as well was spot on, my only complaint is I would of had more of the slaw.My wife had the burger (smokehouse) and couldn’t praise that enough either, it was perfectly cooked and bouncing full of flavour.For £27 this was one of the best takeaways we have had during these crazy times, it was a pleasure to support local and we will be doing so again for sure.Fair play Smoke House you nailed it.

No me puedo quejar de este restaurante, llamamos para reservar una mesa pero no obtuvimos una respuesta, sin embargo, recibimos una llamada para confirmar la reserva, un servicio al cliente impresionante desde el principio. La comida era deliciosa y el personal super amable. Me sentí seguro con las medidas Covid en su lugar y el restaurante todavía tiene un ambiente fabuloso a pesar de que hay menos mesas. Recomendaría la 'Santísima Trinidad' y las costillas de panceta de cerdo, muy sabrosas, ¡pero no pudimos terminarlas todas! Definitivamente volveremos.

Tuvimos comida deliciosa, cuatro de nosotros en la fiesta y no hay quejas de nada, la comida estaba caliente y sabrosa y Jaz, el propietario, que nos estaba sirviendo, tuvo tiempo para charlar y hacernos sentir bienvenidos, una agradable velada y todos nos fuimos con “Bolsos de papel de aluminio” de nuestra deliciosa comida que simplemente no pudimos comer, una agradable velada en general, definitivamente volveremos a visitar.

Me encantó tanto la comida que tuve que volver. Mi esposo ha dejado una reseña para nuestra primera visita y, como dijo, este lugar es una joya absoluta, no me puedo quejar de ninguna forma o forma. Absolutamente increible. Personal muy amable y servicial. Yo iría tan lejos como para decir que fue una hamburguesa que he comido. Mi esposa tenía la ensalada de pollo jerk, incluso le pusieron un tazón pequeño de arroz mexicano sin cargo adicional. Lo probé y fue excelente. A ella le encantó y es muy quisquillosa con la comida. Definitivamente un regreso al restaurante.

Fantástica comida. Las mejores carnes ahumadas que he probado. Being from Portsmouth I was unsure where to go for good bbq food, this place cooked the best pork ribs I have ever tasted!!! All of the meat was cooked to absolute perfection and all washed down with a nice cold Corona! The next time myself and the family are in Cardiff we will definitely return.

We’ve ordered food for collection during lockdown on multiple occasions. They take orders in advance and it can get fully booked if left too late (just like the restaurant itself when it was open). Not quite the best burger in Cardiff but it is very very good.

Ordered veggie burger (Halloumi) twice now..... amazing! I have also eaten in the restaurant pre lockdown....lovely food all round. So much better burgers than some of the slop (!) served by other burger retailers in Cardiff. X

Incredible food and service. Portion sizes are plentiful, we left there stuffed. I would definitely recommend the BBQ beans and Nutella cheesecake ! Variety of options, especially as I’m not a particular fan of meat. Options for vegetarians and vegans. Definitely will be returning!!

El propietario Jaz fue muy servicial e inmediatamente nos encontró una mesa con suficiente espacio para el cochecito, no es una tarea fácil dado el tamaño compacto del restaurante.El servicio fue amable y rápido, incluso cuando estaba muy ocupado durante la fiebre del almuerzo.Gran selección de licores, cervezas artesanales y cervezas, así como la selección estándar de refrescos.Los alimentos. . . ! ! ! Visited last night for my husbands birthday. I am sad to say I am utterly disappointed. My husband had a chicken burger which was nice apart from him finding a pubic hair in with his chips and I had chicken thighs and ribs which looked great but were not nice nor enjoyable to eat (I didn’t eat it) they were pretty tasteless. We were not asked during our meal if everything was ok which is usually Pretty standard even if you went to a Harvester! We didn’t bother complaining because what is the point we will just not return nor recommend to others.

I was gutted to find that the sauce contained gluten which limited me to a quater of the menu! Places like honest burger in cardiff have adapted their whole menu for people who are gluten free. If you simply changed the BBQ sauce to a gluten free version it would then be inclusive for people like me to enjoy! wouldnt return again until this happens as this used to be my fave place to go back in the day! the burger was supper peppery and quite dry

We decided to go on a spur of the moment date night and were delighted. The staff were all so lovely and accommodating and the food was delicious. Be warned, the portions are very generous!

Lucky to enjoy a lunch time delight her with my children and granddaughter. All our meals were superb, presented like a picture and tasting of so many flavours. The chef/front of house staff were extremely engaging and made us feel valued customers.

Good service, great vibe and decor, and excellent delicious, fresh food - The Pittmaster was amazing, I loved it! My partner has a peanut allergy and so had to use the 'nut free' menu which was a bit limited in comparison to the large main menu, but not a problem for him - he usually goes for steak anyway and had a delicious one with amazing onion rings and THE BEST sweet potato chips!

St. Louis rib, pulled pork and pulled brisket, all on the same plate! Too much food but the waitress kindly wrapped up for us to take home. If you’re a fan of smoked meat you need to go here!

A very nice place to go as the staff was very welcoming. Our waitress was Jess who was also really nice made sure we had the best service which we did. The food was also outstanding, definitely filled me. Would recommend it to anyone and overall just excellent.

Second visit to this small but lovely restaurant. We go as a large party for birthdays and have not been disappointed. The combo is lovely, but this time the ribs were a bit undercooked and fattier than last time.

Best sweet potato fries I’ve ever had, amazing giant rack of ribs with a smoky rub and great kids meal! Loved the music and the decor and the staff were very friendly-highly recommend 👍🏻

Lovely restaurant, great relaxed atmosphere, friendly and knowledgable staff and exquisite smokehouse foods. Portions are generous, so if your going for starters - share! Would definitely visit again next time we are in the diff.

Went with my husband on a Saturday night and we were really impressed. The food was stunning, and the atmosphere was great. All the staff we spoke to were really helpful, and they even offered to wrap the meat I couldn't eat for me to take away. The wings and the ribs were highlights, but be warned the portions are HUGE! The prices are really reasonable, and we would definitely go back if we were staying in Cardiff again.

Mi compañero y yo fuimos a Cardiff para un fin de semana y no hay nada más decepcionante que no poder conseguir una mesa en un buen restaurante. Encontré esto en TripAdvisor como altamente recomendado y definitivamente puedo confirmar que es UN NO DEJARSE! ¡Absolutamente increible! La comida era increíblemente deliciosa y me siento bastante molesto cuando no puedes saborear lo que estás comiendo, ¡pero esto era algo fuera de lo común y tampoco tenía el precio alto!

We came to smoke house as a few people had reccomended it, however we were quite disappointed. We went as a group of 4 and all ordered different things. The ribs were quite fatty with very little meat on them, the salad was one of the most boring salads I have ever seen, literally just lettuce with chunks of red onion and chicken chucked in. The burger was average, just nothing particularly special about it. I had the pulled pork which I must say was really lovely, but 1/4 isn't great.

Service was amazing and made to feel welcome as soon as you came in! Ordered promptly and food came in great time! No words can explain the ribs... they were the best we had ever tasted! Be prepared to eat and be very full! One of the best restaurants in Cardiff and will be returning soon!!

Went mid week and was very quiet, which was fine as we wanted to chat and take our time. We ordered our food with the waitress,s help she was very friendly. We ordered the rib and chicken combo and didn’t have to wait too long as it was quiet. The rib was very tender and cooked very well but the chicken was very disappointing two thighs with very little flavour the fries fresh and hot. After we finished our meal we felt that they wanted us to pay and leave so they could go home they made it very obvious we were holding them up, so much so that we asked if they wanted us to leave. We finally went around to the halfway to finish our evening. Sorry but won’t be returning such a shame because it used to be a great place

Comida fenomenal, y un poco de cerveza artesanal americana encantadora. Empezamos con langostinos, somos sensacionales y también alas de búfalo que fueron lo más parecido que he tenido a las alas americanas desde que estuve allí. Seguido por las costillas principales que ninguno de nosotros pudo terminar. Tan tierno y delicioso. Si te gustan las costillas, creo que te costará encontrar un lugar que supere este lugar.

The brisket was flavorful,moist having just enough fat. The bacon was thick and amazing. I couldn't eat all of my side salad as it was more of a meal in itself. The servers and the manager were all very attentive! I'll be back!

My family and I went last night to celebrate my grandson 21st birthday, all I can say is from the time we sat down to the time we left we had a wonderful time.

My family and I went for a meal here for my husbands 50th birthday last night. The staff were very welcoming and friendly when we arrived and very informative and knowledgeable about the food. I had one of there specials "pulled pork Burrito" which was awesome. My husband had a burger and they accommodated my sons pickness by letting him change the burger on the menu. We all enjoyed our food and will definitely be back.

The Mrs and I were thinking of going to TGI for dinner but fancied somewhere a bit different. I’d heard of this place before, but never been. We were able to book a table about 2 hrs in advance and were glad we did. The staff are really friendly and the food was great. I had ‘The Pittmaster‘ (beef brisket and pulled pork in sourdough with coleslaw etc etc) and the Mrs had chicken and ribs. Great food all round and a fantastic lively atmosphere. Will definitely be back. Thanks guys!

Nothing offensive happened and a nice evening with friends but a few annoying things. The tables and chairs are squashed in so close to each other that it is really difficult to get in and out; no salt and pepper on the tables; ketchup and mayo came in ridiculous tiny plastic disposable pots, and my brisket was very dry. None of it arrived at the table desperately hot either. Staff were pleasant though.

Lovely celebration meal, fantastic service, great food, relaxed and friendly atmosphere, good music in the background. We will definitely return, thanks for a great evening!

We booked here for my daughter's Birthday, our party consisted of 5 adults and 2 children, we had a friendly greeting and nothing was too much trouble. The food was excellent especially the steak, we ordered corn on the cob for the small people and it was cooked perfectly which was a refreshing change as in other establishments it's either been kept warm so tough or water logged. I would definitely recommend to friends and it won't be too long before we return.

He comido en la casa de humo antes con mi pareja y tuvimos una buena experiencia. Buena comida, bebida y el servicio fue estupendo. Como era mi cumpleaños recientemente, intentamos reservar para una mesa de 8. Digo que lo intenté porque inicialmente el miembro del personal que tomaba la reserva dijo que no podían hacer las reservas. Ella pidió nuestros detalles y dijo que nos volverían a llamar. (es comprensible, está ocupado en esta época del año y no todo el personal está capacitado en el manejo de números) Sin embargo, pasaron un par de días y quedó claro que no llamarían. Les dimos otra llamada y hablamos con un miembro del personal diferente. Esta vez no hubo ningún problema y nos reservó un depósito de 80, por lo que pensamos que era la mesa.

Vinimos en familia, nuestra mesa estaba reservada y llegamos 10 minutos tarde debido al tráfico deficiente. A pesar de que intentamos telefonearlos repetidamente (sin respuesta) nos dijeron que debíamos esperar por una mesa disponible que tomó 30 minutos. Nuestra orden fue tomada de inmediato, pero la comida tardó otros 45 minutos en llegar, faltaba una comida y mi hijo tuvo que esperar otros 15 minutos para obtener su comida. Tuve el pollo y gofres, pensando que esto sería un plato sabroso. . . Me decepcionó que me sirvieran una pechuga de pollo sazonada en un verdadero waffle de postre con mermelada, la combinación era horrible y no sabía nada bien. Mi hija tenía la pechuga cocida a fuego lento que estaba enlucida con mostaza, se quejaba del sabor que ella creía que se debía a la mostaza, y, en un examen más detenido, era la carne la que olía a rancio. La comida fue devuelta y el gerente no nos cobró por la comida, pero realmente nos quitó las ganas de visitar allí de nuevo.

No puedo dejar la comida, ya que era encantador, pero el servicio era tan malo que sentí la necesidad de dejar un comentario.

Cuando la celebramos el cumpleaños de mi marido y mi nieta, éramos 15. . .

Tuvimos una comida fabulosa aquí en este acogedor restaurante.

Entré por un poco de comida un martes por la noche. Tuve un filete chuletón con costillas en la parte superior. muy agradable y tierno! . aros de cebolla. Ensalada y patatas fritas. aunque diría que realmente no quería pimienta en mi filete y la salsa de las costillas también estaba en mi filete. aunque me lo comí todo, no me importó demasiado que en mi robo pensé que arruinaba el sabor de un gran bistec. Mi compañero tenía el filete de grupa negro con mantequilla de ajo. ella disfrutó eso En general muy agradable y volveremos. Pero la próxima vez tendré el bistec. Tal vez costillas pero en un plato diferente.

We’ve been a here a few times and have loved it but the last time was probably the last.

In work in a chain restaurant, so wanted something different & I wasn’t disappointed. I’ve been now on 3 separate occasions with my girlfriend & my daughter. The food is always great, a fantastic range of beers & the staff are great.

Great food, service was a little slow for a Wednesday night considering we'd booked in advance but we just ended up ordering more starters to compensate. Had calamari, fried chicken and nacho starters, all great quality. Beef brisket main was fantastic and good wine to flow. Pleasant evening and will certainly be back.

Went here with two friends. We ordered wings and burgers. We were asked how we would liked our burgers. We all said medium but these burgers were very well cooked. The wings were very standard. We also waited a very long time to pay. If your going for food I’d recommend weatherspoons over this place for quality and 100% quantity

Booked for 15 people for lunch on a Sunday. They'd just reopened after refurbishment so had the place to ourselves, which was great. The waitress was friendly and patient, given that we had three young children with us. Obviously the main draw is the food, and we weren't let down. I don't think there was even one minor complaint about the food. I had the jerk wings and then the steak and ribs. Both were superb. The kids meals were perfect. There was plenty of food left on people's plates at the end, but only because the portions are so huge, which isn't a bad thing. At an average of £25 a head including drinks and tip, it's good value too.

Had a great early dinner with my wife, didn't book but staff very accommodating. Buffalo wings to start, big, hot and sticky. Then my wife had the Mex burger while I had the Holy Trinity, which consisted of pulled pork, beef brisket and ribs. It also came with fries, onion rings and 'slaw. I struggled to finish it and it was really tasty, as good as any I've had in the states, we will return.

Ive now been to this place several times. On each occasion the food has been excellent, and the service warm and friendly. Everything I’ve tried has been executed well and I would gladly pay more than the meagre service charge they always ask if I’m prepared to pay. Try it!

We'd heard good things about The Smoke House, but were so disappointed. All four meals came out cold, and the staff weren't particularly pleasant either. Not somewhere i'd recommend at all.

Stayed nearby and luckily they had a table. The Burgers were fab. Beef Brisket was melt in the mouth and the Pitmaster was amazing. Best food I've eaten in ages. Great service too

I booked 7-8 days in advance for my husband's 50th birthday.My elderly in-laws had travelled about 200 miles to join us.We turned up at 8pm, the EXACT time of the booking.No table and a shifty little woman told us that there was no booking.BUT-she had the reservation book in her hand with an equivalent of our name and my unlisted phone number:Where did that come from if there was no booking?!!The time, 8pm,had also been biro'd over to show "845pm"We were told that we could "Wait in the passage" for 45mins! When we refused she offered a "free Drink".Needless to say,we were out of there.Infuriating and mortifying experience, a ruined day,incompetence & downright lies.Caveat emptor...

We travelled 200 miles to a 50th birthday celebratory meal booked 8 days in advance at the Smokehouse for 8 pm. Upon arrival at that time there was no reserved table although they had the telephone number and information supplied by the person who booked it. We feel let down and disgusted by the lack of service which ruined the occasion. We will not be going there again.

Stunning smoked ribs with a side of brisket slaw and salad added on sweet potato fries for a buck. Really well smoked meats. Full black bark on the outside leaving the meat succulent and juicy. My partner went for the brisket salad and was very happy with the portion size. It was all lovely washed down with a bottle of blue moon. Ill defo be returning soon. It blew away the competion really the best bbq in south wales. In the words of the great action bronson **** thats delicous

Umm‘ and aah’d about this place for a while, really glad we went for it. The ribs are huge and cooked to perfection, sweet potato fries and a delicious slaw. Pound for pound, genuinely can’t fault it, great restaurant

This great place came via a recommendation, booked a table for a very busy Saturday night. Although it is a small venue tables are suitably spaced. Would recommend the rib-eye steak it was cooked perfectly. I did not have room for dessert however will rectify that on my next visit.

Our 2nd visit in the last 6 months to The Smoke House in Pontcanna & it again didn't disappoint. We took friends with us this time and we each had the rib-eye steak & rib combo with slaw side. The steaks were cooked perfectly & as requested, the ribs fell apart and the slaw was very tasty. The wine list is varied in type & price and we had a bottle of the Malbec, which went down very well. The service throughout was attentive, without being intrusive. All in all, a great evening and would not only recommend but intend returning on our future visits to Cardiff.

We called in on the off chance of a table as only two of the tables were occupied. It was fairly quiet evening but they didn't want to try to accommodate us. It was 6pm, judging by the reviews they want a quick getway and don't want people calling in without booking. Shame it looked a nice place, the waitress was pleasant but the manager wasnt interested.

I have been to the Smoke House twice in the past month - both on rugby days. The second time was pretty busy and we could only book a table 2 hours before kick off. I talked to the manager and she ensured that we could pre-order so that we could be seated, eat and leave within the hour. It worked a treat - thank you!! We were a party of 8 people and everyone enjoyed their meal. It didn't feel rushed and the various choices of Ribs, Blackened Steak and Pulled Pork all went down well. I had steak on both occasions and it was excellent - beautifully cooked and melt in your mouth. The beer is pretty good too with a great selection of beers. It's a smoke house so don't expect fine dining and much beyond meat. But if that's what you are looking for it's great.

Based on a recommendation from a foodie friend I had lunch here before going to the rugby. I had the beef brisket and my son had a burger. It's difficult to go wrong with a burger and they didn't. The brisket was also very good with an excellent barbecue sauce. Atmosphree and service was good, I'll go back next time I'm in town

We booked it last week, looking forward to experiencing some good BBQ food. We turned up, the service was slow and we didn’t receive menus for about 10 minutes after sitting down. Then we were told that half the stuff on the menu wasn’t available, including the fact that they had NO ribs left. No ribs at a BBQ restaurant? Yep. Basically anything worth having on the menu wasn’t available. Nachos we ordered to start were pretty cold as well. Then as my food was served, I was told there was no avocado left (which my burger contained) and offered nothing in its place. Then, when we asked to have some bbq sauce on the side, we were unashamedly told it would be at an added cost. The food we had wasn’t bad, but not worth the £40 bill, especially considering the fact that we had to order food we didn’t particularly want, because nothing else was really available. I wouldn’t recommend.

Excellent surroundings, Excellent Food and Excellent Service.

Popped in for an early evening meal with some family and our 2 year old.We were the only people eating there at the time and the service was brilliant with great staff.I had one of my best ever steaks here. A great selection of beers. Everyone enjoyed the meals and we would have stayed longer but our tired 2 year old decided that he was going to scream the place down just as we were finishing desert.It's not cheap but the quality of my meal more than made up for that.Will definitely return to sample another steak soon.

My wife, son and I had dinner at The Smoke House tonight, as we're staying nearby for the rugby. From the first welcome at the door to the goodbye, we had a great evening of fabulous food & drink. From the calamari & chicken wings to start, through to the burger our son had & the steak & ribs combo my wife and I each had, it was all great. Excellent service throughout the evening, even though it was a busy night. Would thoroughly recommend that you book to ensure you get a table.PS - the previous reviewer was clearly referring to another restaurant, as The Smoke House doesn't serve Malbec by the glass (I know as we had a bottle of it with our meal) nor does it have Budweiser on its drinks menu, so disregard it.
