Our server josh was very lovely, made such a nice atmosphere for me, my mum and sister, we had such an amazing time:) Thankyou Josh!

Food was 10/10, best service I’ve ever received, Josh is a top guy! Very friendly staff would defo recommend Also gave us some free ice cream for our 2 year anniversary

The burger was ok, the patty was overdone and quite tasteless. However the steak in the burger was cooked lovely Regardless of it being a fairly average meal, the service from Josh was superb. The right level of conversation and interaction accompanied with a great eye for detail, thanks Josh!

Enjoyed another incredible meal at Miller and Carter this evening, having an early 2 year anniversary with my partner. We've always had a great experience here, but this time was made extra special by our fantastic waiter, Josh. What ever wage this man is on.... ITS NOT ENOUGH! He was not only extremely pleasant and welcoming, he also catered beyond tentatively to our dietary needs. Will 100% be back soon, especially if Josh is serving.

Got the wrong dish, requested medium rump, recived a well done sirloin. Happy with resolution offer to bring out correct dish from waiter, waited another 20 minutes and recived a 'blue' steak, which I couldn't eat. I was done by that point, it was so busy, felt for the waiter, so just ate what I could and left, wouldn't return.

Great service provided by Josh and as it was my birthday meal had a nice dessert too.

Quite disappointed by our visit. We had booked a table for 2 at 2pm. The staff were not welcoming whatsoever and ignored us for 20 minutes. A table that had come in after us had their drink and food orders taken before we did. The short haired man said he would be right with us after 15 minutes of being sat then a women came over, no effort or enthusiasm which made us feel quite uneasy and as though our money is any different to others dining at the restaurant. We did not receive a check back on our main courses but the table next to us has a check back on their desserts. I believe the waitress could tell our dissatisfaction as when we paid, there was no option to tip, yet when I dined there previously, the tip was an option before presenting the card. Meaning she decided for us. From this experience, I will most definitely not return as although the food was nice, the staff ruined it.

We had to wait 25 minutes to even be served and then we asked to order and the lady was very rude and blanked us. We had Camembert for starters however the bread was stale and the Camembert was undercooked. To be fair the steak was cooked to perfection but when it was served we weren’t given steak knives and I had to go find a server for one and they still took ages to bring steak knives over. So if you don’t mind stale bread and poor customer service you should go.

After a really bad experience on New Years Day with a limited menu we decided to try again. Our waitress Angie was brilliant. Food was beautiful and it was an enjoyable experience. Learnt our lesson not to book on a busy day

Food was hurriedness. My partners food come over cooked, as it was asked to be medium rare, we then swapped the meal and it then come back as BLUE RARE, this whole process probably took around 2.5 hours. Which is a joke, the food was cold and we ended up asking for the bill and leaving

Our server Lia was fantastic, she was diligent, approachable and extremely helpful and friendly. The steak which is obviously the main attraction of the meal was cooked perfectly however the onion loaf was over cooked and extremely crunchy and the fries were stale. It wasn’t a bad meal but could be better. Lia made the experience better

Had the set menu on a Tuesday day time and it was brilliant. Food was cooked beautifully and the portion sizes were spot on. Our waiter Lia was fantastic and was always available when we needed something.

She maintained the perfect customer to server relationship and always made us feel welcome. The food was good but Sophie was even better. A truly outstanding waitress that made us feel comfortable, welcome and very much at home. I very much look forward to my next visit and hope Sophie is our waitress!

I understand the time of year and it gets busy but when it comes to service you need a personal touch and politeness when you dine somewhere a little more expensive than other restaurants in the area and the waitress serving us on our visit couldn't handle the pressure of a busy restaurant and was very rude. Food was ok but had better at Cardiff bay restaurant. We won't be returning

As a frequent diner at Miller & carter, visiting more than twice a month, I am deeply disappointed by the appalling service I experienced at The Hayes during a recent family occasion. It was, without question, the worst dining experience I have ever had, leaving all parties both frustrated and disheartened. After being initially served, our waitress did not return to our table. We received our starters within 20 minutes, but then waited over an hour for our mains without any updates or attention. When we finally asked about our food, it arrived 10 minutes later in an unacceptable state—steak and chips that were dry, tasteless, and clearly left sitting for too long. The steak, ordered medium-rare, was overcooked and inedible. When I raised this with a staff member, they corrected me with unnecessary attitude, insisting it was medium-rare, before reluctantly offering a replacement without an apology. The reorder arrived 15 minutes later but was of similarly poor quality. By this point, my family had already missed their train and were forced to wait two more hours for the next one. I had to leave halfway through my meal to retrieve my car before my parking ran out. During the entire three hours+ we were at the restaurant, no one came to check on drinks, ask if we wanted dessert, or provide any form of basic hospitality. We had to repeatedly call for staff to request the bill, as our server was nowhere to be seen. Even at this stage, no one apologised for the poor service. While three meals were removed from the bill as a resolution, we felt unable to request my sister’s M&B employee discount due to the discomfort caused by the experience. Overall, this was far below the standard I have come to expect from Miller & carter. The lack of professionalism, absence of an apology, and poor-quality food ruined what was meant to be a special occasion for my family. I will not return .

My wife and I eat at Miller & Carter regular and we always order the butchers block to share. Every single time the food is on point and the steak is cooked to perfection. The gravy sauce is just 😍😍😍 amazing value for money and the staff in the Hayes are always very helpful and super friendly, we can’t ask for more. It’s even more beautiful at Christmas 🎄 Shout out to Mason the chef for the expert grilling and the staff who work their fingers to the bone during the festive season - especially Maddy and Cassie who looked after us. Looking forward to returning pronto! A+++++

We booked here for a group family catch up in December 2024. They seated us in one of the corners which was ideal as it almost felt like we were at home. We were able to choose between having the festive menu or the normal one which kept everyone happy. Drinks were good and arrived quickly. Starters and mains were tasty, with the meat all cooked exactly as ordered. It also helped that one of our party also worked at M&C for nearly two years so knows the menu inside out; he was satisfied with everything so that says something. Desserts were good too and the only slight grumble was trying to get the staff’s attention to pay quickly as train cancellations meant that we needed to get that sorted quickly - it was all fine, and appreciate that staff always prioritise other things over people paying up. Overall a successful visit and we’re thinking we’ll return next time.

Lovely evening for my birthday! Beautiful food and atmosphere Our waiter, Josh, was so kind and readily available for any requests! The experience is always even better when you have a friendly and enthusiastic waiter! Will definitely be returning. He also reassured me with dietary requirement as I have coeliac disease, which made me feel more comfortable and relaxed eating here.

Stopped by for a couple of drinks after doing some Christmas shopping. Our bartender Evan was brilliant. Great speed of service, really helpful and recommended the best drinks!

I ordered a couple drinks from the bar and I had a lovely employee serving me the whole time I was there, her name was Hollie. Nothing but good things to say about her she was friendly, respectful and a hard worker. I’m glad she was my server, she put my social-anxiety at ease the moment I started speaking to her.
