Slug & Lettuce in Durham is one of our favourite go-to spots for a night out or a chilled afternoon with friends. The atmosphere is always lively but relaxed, and the stylish interior makes it feel like a proper treat without being over the top. The cocktails are absolutely brilliant — loads of choice, great presentation, and excellent value, especially during the 2-for-1 offer. Whether you’re into fruity, sweet mixes or something stronger and classic, there’s something for everyone. We’ve tried everything from Pornstar Martinis to Strawberry Daiquiris and Mojitos, and every one of them has been spot on. Food-wise, the chicken burger is a real winner. Served hot, fresh, and full of flavour with crispy fries on the side — it’s honestly one of the best you’ll get for the price in the city. Portion sizes are just right, and everything is plated nicely, even for casual dining. The service is always friendly and quick, even when it’s busy on weekends. Staff are attentive, helpful, and make sure you’re looked after without hovering. Located right by the river with lovely views outside, it’s a great spot day or night. Highly recommended for food, drinks, and a good vibe in Durham.

We visited as a group of 8 for the birthday bottomless brunch for my friends 23rd birthday and I must say it was a fabulous day! The waitress Rachel was absolutely amazing couldn’t have done more for us, drinks on arrival and super speedy service throughout and very helpful with spillages etc. The food was lovely and filled us up just enough! The music in the venue could’ve been a touch louder but other than that it was a lovely atmosphere and well worth the money, thank you Rachel for making this visit so fab! ❤️

Don’t recommend for bottomless brunch when they are busy apart from the odd few members off staff who will come and give you drinks however we have also waited avery long time to get served when we first arrived we waited 30 minutes as nobody had informed the server we have arrived despite being seated down by a member of staff however to the two waiters who would come over and serve us drinks you made it worth while however the rest of the staff weren’t helpful at all despite us having no drinks for a long time thank you to Amal who served us and the boy with curly hair. We were also made to pay before hand despite paying half of the deposit.

Non alcohol options on bottomless brunch very poor. I accept that it is designed for those who do drink alcohol, but those who don't drink should not be penalised by poor availability / limited choices. Why not just make your whole non alcohol drink menu available? Especially non alcohol prosecco when it is clearly available ! Poor food choices, all day breakfast basically till 5pm.

Visited the S&L and the Wi-Fi and app defeated me. Tried for 30 min to get my free drink on the app and failed😱. What is that app about!!! lost the will to live and left.

Came for bottomless brunch, was fantastic food, our server was Danielle and she was amazing all night

Danielle was very observant and was ready to refill drinks as soon as we were low, keeping us topped up the whole time. Food was lovely and overall well worth the money

I ordered two food items to table 204. After waiting 40 minutes with no sign of the order, I asked a waitress who said she would look into it. When there was still no update, I asked to speak with a manager. The manager (wearing a blue shirt and checked trousers) told me that the transaction hadn’t gone through — despite the payment clearly being approved and showing on my bank statement. I was told that if the refund didn’t appear by Wednesday, I should email them. Given that we were part of a large party spending hundreds of pounds, I was very disappointed with the service and the lack of urgency or accountability. Unsatisfied, I returned to question it further - only to find out later that the food had been served to the wrong table all along. Overall, the situation was handled very poorly and left a bad impression.

Fantastic day only made better by the amazing service provided by Rachel. What a friendly, attentive and quick member of staff. She a credit to you.

I want to also recognise Courtney for her amazing customer service during our bottomless brunch. She made sure we didn’t wait long for our next drinks and was very friendly :)

Almuerzo sin fondo para celebrar mi 60 cumpleaños. Nuestra camarera era Rachel que era excelente, nos recibieron con una botella de Prosecco que era encantador. Luego también tomó una orden para nuestras próximas bebidas, que fue un servicio muy rápido. La elección de la comida, aunque se limitó principalmente a los artículos de tipo desayuno era un aperitivo encantador (porciones bastante pequeñas) No puedo culpar al servicio, aunque Rachel era tan acogedor y hablador. Sin duda volvería de nuevo y si tienes la suerte Rachel será tu camarera!

Came to Slug & Lettuce Durham on a Thursday night for a bottomless brunch. Decent selection of drinks without having to upgrade and the food was great! We were served by Lilo, she was great! Never had an empty glass and she was always around if we need anything. Would highly recommend 👌

Had a bottless brunch here on Saturday 5th April for my hen doo , Rachel was our waitress as well as other staff . Drinks were kept flowing food was lovely !

Pasamos por un almuerzo tardío y una pinta y media de cerveza de barril. Teníamos Brixton Pale Ale y aunque el precio no estaba escrito en el menú vi al barman marcar hasta £ 7. 20 por la pinta y £ 3. 60 para la mitad. Ahora estamos en casa y busqué en Google el precio de la cerveza en el Slug and Lettuce Durham y parece ser mucho menos que eso. Pedimos Steak & Fries que era bastante incomestible y un sándwich de carne que estaba bien, pero no lo habría hecho de nuevo. En general, sentimos que nos estafaron y ciertamente no volveremos a un Slug & Lettuce de nuevo.

What a fantastic time we had. My partner, meself and brother brought our mothers for the ABBA Bottomless brunch. Drinks were like a revolving door thanks to our server, Sam. What a polite, well mannered lad, a true asset to the place. Thanks to him and the atmosphere, us and our mams had the best time and are leaving mortal haha. 5*

Steak dinners for two. Food was great, steaks were cooked just as we requested and were juicy and delicious. Quick service by friendly and attentive staff. It was very quiet, though we visited on a random Sunday lunchtime. Will definitely visit again.

We visited Slug & Lettuce in Durham for bottomless brunch and had a great experience. There was a good selection of food to choose from, and while the cocktail choices were a bit limited, there were still enough options to enjoy throughout the brunch. We went as a group of four, and it was a great setting for a double date. It was quite busy, but that was expected for a Saturday with nice weather. Despite hiw busy it was, the service was excellent, with staff frequently checking in and taking new drink orders. For the price, the brunch was great value, especially considering that a single cocktail normally costs around £12. One small downside was the photobooth, which we couldn’t quite figure out how to use, and it seemed a little on the pricey side. Overall, it’s a fun place for a casual, lively brunch, and we’d happily return!

Gran bar. Sólo vine a tomar un cóctel una tarde temprano. No es tan fácil conseguir un asiento. Buena oferta en 2 por 1 bebidas. Tenían el Pina Colada y eran buenos. La música tendía a ser un poco fuerte, pero tal vez esa es nuestra edad. Personal muy amable.

The service was quick and friendly considering it was a Friday night. There was a huge range of food for the brunch and the pasta was sold out which was the 1st choice for our table. The cocktails, well as you can guess at a brunch very watered down. Just tasted like the juice.
