Finn was an amazing server. Friendly and helpful, advising to get the best drink selections. He came over frequently to check if we had enough drinks for bottomless brunch, and recommended a certain gin & tonic. His service was great and so friendly, and he advised us well on getting the tastiest drinks. We genuinely would love to come from Newcastle to come in again if he serves us.

Me and my boyfriend booked a bottomless brunch on Saturday and it was very good. We had endless drinks with staff being friendly and helpful. Excellent service from Finn who made the experience fantastic. Although the music was very loud we had no complaints. Definitely recommend 👍🏻

For a Monday we really enjoyed this, it didn’t matter that it wasn't busy. Leera was our server and she was so attentive and brought our drinks and even asked us if we wanted more drinks before we had finished. The round brought out just before paying was amazing and a good value for money. I would definitely recommend as we felt very accommodated.

Special mention for Caitlin from my old neck of the woods, Liv and Finn who looked after us and kept us flowing with gorgeous drinks. Food was amazing too and such good value for money! Made our special day extra special and they’re a credit to the Slug and Lettuce brand!! We’ll definitely be back xx

Asked for drinks including 241 separate cocktails. The rude dark haired barman with round rimmed glasses demanded with attitude that we had to order the same 241 cocktail. Very unfriendly towards us, so we won't return here

Myself and three friends visited on a Saturday afternoon, our table seemed in a great location but the music was so loud, but we managed to have a great time. Connor our waiter was absolutely 1st class and very attentive and friendly, soon as drinks were finished he was at our table. We were quite disappointed with the choice of drinks and cocktails, no wine and no expresso martini or pornstar martini, only woo. Woo’s and sex on the beach and other boring choices, I was going to upgrade cocktails for £10 but it turned out that the whole party had to. The food was absolutely abmismal, I ordered a bacon cheeseburger and it was burnt to smitherines, the one piece of streaky bacon was cold and undercooked, I ate one burger because I was hungry but the rest was awful. Everybody else’s meal was the same but we said they’re cooks not chefs, we didn’t complain and left a tip as Connor’s customer service was second to none. I think we’ll try somewhere else next time .

Awful racket music. Was still very hungry after steak fries and garden peas. Rip off £42 for 2 small 'meals' and 2 drinks.

Our waiter Finn was absolutely incredible, attentive, charismatic & just a fab waiter. He looked after my mums table as it was her surprise 50th with ease. He dealt with allergies & dietary requirements amazingly. Drinks were amazing, food was fab. If you need a table in York this is the place to go. Get Finn to be your waiter. Thank you so much to everyone that contributed to my mums table she had the best time. We cannot wait to get back. We all travelled from different parts of the country to be there and it was just superb! Thank you x

We did the cocktail making session with LUKE. What can I say he was fantastic, we had such a good laugh. We’ve done cocktail making before but Luke made it different by making us play a game while doing one of the drinks. Some great memories made and a great cocktail class. Highly recommend especially if Luke is delivering it.

My partner and I visited for our anniversary as we used to go here often on dates, i decided to book a bottomless brunch for us to enjoy. The options were good; i do wish they had more “dinner” options that weren’t just burgers and that the cocktail options on the menu were more varied but we still enjoyed it. Food wise; i enjoyed my vegetarian burger and my partner got a full slug breakfast- which was enjoyed but they did get the choice of egg wrong (why ask how we want our egg if it’s only fried egg available? bit weird but that’s okay). Our server was lovely and let us get one more bottomless cocktail before we left eventhough we were a couple minutes past our available time, which was very lovely. One note that’s not of worth; i don’t like the “new” renovation they had, it’s much more jarring and dare i say, boring. To me, Slug is bright and floral and friendly but this felt more plain and, mediocre with plain walls and then paper flamingos hanging from the ceiling? quite odd in our opinion. Either way, £33pp for Bottomless brunch is worth it and we enjoyed ourselves

Not only was the food amazing but we were looked after by Caitlin and Fin whose customer service and attention were second to none. Easily the best slug and Lettuce that I have been to. Caitlin looked after us all night and made sure that our drinks were always full and that we had a good night. Thank you Caitlin and Fin

Lovely tome spent today for a friend's Birthday. We had the special Sip and Share. Great value 2 small meals plus one desert and 2 cocktails all fir £20 I ordered side order if chops but I did not need them really as portion size was gud depends on your appetite. All lovely. Fin our Waiter was fabulous attentative hard working and cute always with a smile. Take a bow lad x

I was served by karagh on the bar, I asked what cocktails would she recommend for someone who likes a whisky mix, she recommended whisky smash and they went down a treat, I will 100% be coming back!

We had our Christmas party at the slug and lettuce and it was nothing short of amazing! Was so easy to plan we had our own space and buffet food which was served promptly and was really really tasty too! Yesterday my husband and I was waited on by Fin in York. We could not complain once. He made our whole time we was there for our Bottomless Brunch perfect. This place is set on a beautiful street within York center. it's a great place with fairly cheap drinks. The staff are great and the atmosphere was great, we have been here several times when visiting York and we shall be back again.

Fairly quiet when we arrived but soon filled up. Found that drinks were expensive. 1 x gin and 1 x pint of peroni came to nearly £13. We didn't eat so I can't comment on the food.

Came here on a Friday night and didn't expect it to be so packed! The drinks were pretty good, but the play the music so loud it's difficult to have any kind of conversation, which just isn't my kind of venue.

Nice bar. Friendly staff. Really. Can’t go wrong. Visited on a Monday after being at Xmas market before having dinner across the street.

The cocktails that we ordered, Mojito and Pina Colada, just tasted of water and were full of ice that was just piled in to the glass, had to have them changed and literally say how they should be made. Apparently its 'company policy' to pile the ice/water in and make poor cocktails. The 2 for 1 offer was more like 2 glasses of water. Then the food, due to 'staff shortages' there was a 45 minute wait and when the food did arrive, the steak sandwich was cold and the grilled chicken was burned and tasted burnt. After that we just asked for our money back, it was very poor. Won't go bacl there in a hurry.

Very busy venue, with a good atmosphere. Typical Slug and Lettuce affair, you know what you are getting and can't go wrong. Opposite las iguanas and near Turtle Bay - so we made a nice little bar crawl and drank lots of cocktails. Comfy sofas!

What an amazing place and great team. Was served by fin at bar and he was our table server. Such a lovely guy. Even got a little supprise for my birthday. Fin was constantly all over each table and no one had to go up and ask for drinks, he was on the ball.

Booked a bottomless brunch at probably the busiest time of year and was worried that we wouldn’t get served enough. However, our server freya was amazing so nice and friendly. We got to order our next rounds of drinks straight after we were finished our last one. We got constant service and the vibes in the evening were amazing.

Fab food and drinks, although you need a torch to read the menu x christmas cocktails are fab especially the chocolate orange martini. The Afterwork squad offer was amazing.

Awful, 2pm and it was like a nightclub, couldn't here anything - service was slow due to it being so busy, it was just a messy experience especially for the fact we spent over £400.

Strange place, limited menu with very little above burgers or sandwiches. The steak sandwich was good, steak cooked beautifully but small portion for cost. The way you order at the bar was not smooth, staff struggled to cope and it was quiet.

When you're a legend, you go on a Monday night! It's not their fault that the atmosphere wasn't 'banging'! You know what you get with S&L and it didn't disappoint!
