A great atmosphere and lovely food. We were a large group and really well looked after by Holly, Barbara and Lorraine! Thanks so much. Carvery was fab and old fashioned desserts hit the spot! We’ll be back

As per usual, a quality, lovely visit. Lovely location, good river views. Quality, efficient, friendly service from the front of house staff. Quality cooked food from the extremely hard working chefs. Well done to the entire team. Especially a male member of the front of house team. Tallish guy with dark hair and glasses, fantastic genuine friendly customer service. One of the best places on our Island.

This place just gets worse if you want a Cavery.... we had a family meal with approx. 10 people.... luckily I had Pizza which was very nice... but my word... Do not touch the Roast Potatoes and Vegetables, I think they started cooking them at 9am, we were eating at 6pm.... Just plain DISGUSTING, soggy and tasteless... Meat was Lovely though, well it would be slow roasted all day LOL. We were very polite and did not ask for refunds, but we should have, just means we won't be back any time soon, and I give them 1 star on here to add to the others. Manager, you need to up your game if you want a good reputation and return customers, the Island is a small place and people love a good natter about bad things.

Unfortunately a quick visit was turned in to a dilemma. Exceptionally attentive bar staff but the food wait was abominable so we asked for a refund as was looking for a quick lunch before other plans and ferry timetable. In the end we vowed for the tesco meal deal .. a property with such promise just very badly run Unfortunately. No floor staff circulating the restaurant. If informed there would be a 35 min wait after ordering a starter then we would have left . Such a pitty that a prime venue that offers good value was such a shambles!. If I do return again ( doubt it) I'll just have a pint and a packet of crisps.

Absolutely foul, do not eat here, table of 8 all food came out randomly my poor wife was just starting her starter the server threw at her whilst the rest of family were ordering desert. I gave up and refused my meal so I could get a refund for the disgusting experience. I should have cottoned on when our server (Chris) finally delivered my starter and spat all over me when he was talking. Whilst trying to complain the manager hid in the kitchen and only made an appearance when I stated doing the staffs job and letting the customers know there was a very long wait on the terrible food. Whilst waiting all the staff were laughing saying how awful the days service was

Just awful! Bland, Bland, Bland! Dry meat, black carrots, watery gravy! Grumpy chef! No roasts until a few of us asked! Getting the claggy stuffing off the tongues was like attempting an Olympic sport, in fact it almost ended up on someone in the queue. It’s not even like it’s a cheap meal anymore. Don’t bother…get a ready meal or go to the chippy! Should rename it The Slop!!!!

We have just eaten at the Sloop for mid week carvery and kids meals. Turkey on the carvery was delicious, vegetables and gravy were lovely too. Roast potatoes a bit over done and yorkshires were not the best I have to say but was happy with the price. I do think the staff are good but our drinks took such a long time to arrive at the table. The pub advertises they are dog friendly, we found that they were not too accepting of our terrier sadly. She barked a few times as the staff approached the table but was not aggressive in any way and stopped quickly. Whilst we were eating, a staff member approached us to say our dog was too noisy and we needed to calm her down. The pub was not busy at all and she was not out of control or aggressive by any means, just a little chatty at times as she is only young.I could completely understand it if she was continuously barking but she really wasn’t. I left before finishing my food or drink. We will not be returning to the Sloop. A shame.

The food, when we eventually got it, was lovely, but the service was very chaotic. My 4 year old granddaughter waited so patiently in line for her carvery, and just as she was about to step forward, the Chef carving said, young lady, I need to stop you there, I need to go and prepare the next gammon and pork joints, and off he went, leaving us to wait a further 15 minutes for the Turkey she was about to ask for, of which there was plenty. To be fair to them they were clearly short handed, but to make a little one wait that long was unnecessary, and by then the queue had built to around 30 people. So more staff to serve your delicious food would be great.

Nice place for a carvery. Lovely setting by the sea. Food good & it's nice that you can put on your plate the vegetables you like

DO NOT GO TO THE SLOOP INN!!!!! I have been a customer since 2011 for breakfast, dinner, and we have spent more than one Christmas Day there. I went on 3 May for breakfast... and have just received a PARKING CHARGE FROM EURO CAR PARKS for £100!!!!!! Until this dropped through the post box, I hadn't been made aware anything had changed at the Sloop re parking. There is NOWHERE ELSE TO PARK TO EAT AT THE SLOOP except the parking area outside! I am absolutely disgusted that, clearly, some cowboy parking charge company has been allowed to purchase the land to entrap people into fines. This will cost the Sloop their business, because now I, like others, will simply go somewhere else to eat!

Went to this pub today 18th may 2024 around 4’ o’clock with husband and adult daughter and our female cockapoo dog . I ordered a carvery with some pigs in blankets and some drinks. My daughter ordered a margarita pizza and garlic bread and onion rings and chicken strips . The staff were very friendly , but the chef ( I didn’t get her name ) , was very very welcoming catered for every our need . She hand makes the pizzas and garlic bread fresh and was absolutely the friendliest chef I have ever met . Friendly and chatty while she made them. We were table 11 opposite the bar. We all enjoyed the food and it was such a nice relaxed atmosphere. We went here on the way back to the ferry . Highly recommend for a meal . Thanks very much

£5.00 carvery deal and half price pizza on today. It was very busy, but despite this staff were still very friendly. They had run out of turkey, but had beef and gammon left, meat was very nice, all fresh veg and roast potatoes and plenty of it. If I had to moan the stuffing was a little under done. Pizzas were big and very tasty. Cannot fault the food or staff. The staff were working really hard.

Went for Sunday Lunch ,booked several weeks ago for table of 10 with window view at the back. When we arrived the lady who greeted us tried to sit us at any table as it was a free for all. We got a table near to what we ordered and had to clean it are selves ,once we had done this we went to the bar to order a drink, once there we were greeted by a very rude lady who clearly did'nt want to be there and after serving us with 2 drinks said she was off as she didnt do the bar and went back to waitressing ,A replacement turned up and starting serving someone else and i pointed out we were next and eventually got served . We ordered food on the app as we wanted to avoid the bar as the que had become very long out of the door. Four of us had roasts and when Queuing for the carvery the meat run out, the very unpolite chef who was carving the meat said to us all in the line 15 mins as we have been rammed. My daughter who had got to the next stage and was choosing her veg was asked what she was still standing there for replied she was waiting as four of the veg trays were empty and she wanted cauliflower chees was told No more all gone now. I eventually got served some 20 min later with only have the things on offer it was cold and uncooked ,I wanted to see the manager to explain but there was some que to see him so never as we had a ferry to catch. Also when my daughter went to the toilet there was poo all over the floor. This place is terrible ,rude staff, and dirty with no organisation and should be avoided

Being a bank holiday decided to be lazy for lunch and go out. So decided to go for a drive first place we went by was the sloop, the car park was full so parked around the corner, even with a busy pub the food was amazing and all tasted fresh, all the staff amazing as always.

We wanted a nice meal and we were tempted of the idea of having a carvery …. Once we got there , the carvery looked dry and not fresh …. Not impressed…. so we decided to order individual meals….the fries were black, looked old and squishy….not impressed…. We ordered fajita burger , we were brought, I think , simple chicken burger … when we said something, the burger was taken away and brought back with added sauces but still no guacamole therefore not really a fajita burger as in the menu … we were told that the chef forgot to add the sauces … not impressed…. The apple pie was brought with custard even though we asked for ice cream … not impressed … the unlimited ice cream was tasteless , therefore what was the point for being unlimited?? Not impressed … So , unfortunately a disappointment for all of us … Sorry for being so harsh and I really hope things will improve!!!

We wanted a quick easy dinner and this restaurant was close to our holiday home so popped in. It was quiet and plenty of tables to chose from. Order at the bar once you decided. We had Calzones which were amazing fresh well cooked and good value for money. Bit thin on the ground for staff so the tables were a bit sticky and some of the beers on tap were not available. But good overall dinner experience.

Well I can honestly say it was that bad I didn't even no whether to eat it 🤣 potatoes were so dried up and hard, they would literally break your teeth. The gravy was so lumpy it was like having extra potatoes on your plate, the veg was dry and shriveled up. This was a Sunday afternoon 3pm so not that late in the day. When I asked about new potatoes and veg the lady chef questioned me on what's wrong with whats there with a roght attitude... my reply was are u seeing what I'm seeing? Apparently that was the norm. I'm really not that fussy actually but this was Possibly the worst food I've ever consumed and left over half of it. Complete and utter waste of money. The Pepsi was OK though 👍
