Great staff, enjoyable food at a great price and great real ale choice. Place was busy, staff kept customers served quick whilst also keeping tables tidy.

crap !!! enough said , crap food made in a microwave service. what service couldn't understand a word as person didn't speak English , I mean none !!

The food is mediocre. 4 people we had burgers a salad and a pizza. Overage burger and quite small. Same about the salad but the pizza was horrible. How can you possibly destroy a pizza margarita? The crust was biscuit crispy and the cheese on the top was little. Low prices.

Staff not trained and not helpful! Asked the chin pierced waitress if there is any gluten free burger buns or Pizza, and she pointed me to allergy board. There you go meal my meal and no info about gluten. I tried my luck with same waitress and she called the chef, who told her I must look at the board for allergies. I said I am not allergic at anything just want to know if they do gluten free bread/ pizza/ burger buns. Chef told her I should go other place to eat. My husband tried to explain I am not gluten intolerant just don’t like other bread. But he was told I should hi eat elsewhere. We stayed as we invited our friends out and they had a baby , Ordered curry and asked for fries was told that curry comes with rice . Pointed at the menu as there options fries or rice but was told NO! Had it with rice, My son order triple burger and was told they don’t do that, pointed at the menu but received it without bacon and a bit of fried brown paper. Yes! Never going back there.Year 2024 and they could not answer to the question: do you do GLUTEN FREE burger buns or pizza?

Ordered my food and drink on the app. Had order confirmed on the order history. Had an email confirming the order. Had an email from PayPal confirming the payment. When my drink didn’t arrive within 20 mins I asked at the bar only to be told they had no orde and despite having clear evidence I had ordered and paid. No refund and no order put through? When I walked off as I had already wasted a large part of my lunch hour, the manager could only shout a sarcastic remark. Tool

We really enjoyed our visit, we ordered via the App and it all came super quick. Was lovely and hot. Cheap and cheerful what more can you expect. Thank you

Great atmostphere as per most wetherspoons cheap and cheerful. We went upstairs and the barstaff were very friendly and responsive to attention to detail when preparing drinks by adding lemons and limes to certain drinks. We ordered curries and they were very tasty the food was presented really nice. I would say if your in the area and you want a drink and average pub meal with no frills this is up your street.

I ordered a fried egg muffin and they bought out a sausage and bacon and egg muffin and it was cold and coffee latte was cold

Went for a couple of drinks on a day out decided to go on the gaming machines and won £80 but the machine malfunctioned and wouldn’t pay me my winnings I spoke to Mark who works there and he tried his best to get the money out but he could so he said he’d try and get the machine people out before I left swindon at 5.30 but he went above and beyond and went to the cash point and got the money out from his account for me which was great thanks mark your a top guy and Wetherspoons are lucky to have you

Just had the worst pizza I have ever had. The base was raw in the middle. Just awful. Avoid eating here

This wetherspoons has the rudest most unhelpful managers I have ever seen. I came in for a meal with my daughter and arrived to a dirty table. When I went to order a drink at the bar a lovely barmaid greeted us with a smile, however she was the only staff in sight. Our drinks were good and cheap. We were there a good few hours and this poor barmaid had zero help for the entire bottom floor. Every now and then we saw a blond girl with a pony tail who was clearly a manager step behind the bar and do nothing to help. We were served by this manager once and she was rude and clearly didn't care for customers. Sir Daniel arms needs to rethink their management!!

I only ordered a tuna and cheese jacket potato,how anyone can mess this up ,well the Sir Dan's did .Had to send it back twice as stone cold in the middle ,then asked for a refund as was well and truly fed up by then .I was then told I would have to wait as it was the manager only who could issue the refund and that he was busy in the kitchen helping out .What a shambles , eventually got a refund but I'm afraid l won't be setting foot in there again for a long time

Ordered breakfast over a hour to arrive no cups for coffee eggs under Cooked breakfast cold side beans cold ordered extra bacon came out cold was told thats how it's served the manager could not care less over 6 people waiting over 50 mins for breakfast shambles and staff member said to customer glad he got a refund so can use it for another table

We called in mid morning, midweek in November when the pub was pretty quiet. Service was friendly and helpful, and the breakfasts ok, though they were unable to offer fried eggs that morning. After shopping we returned that afternoon for drinks before the train home, by which time the place was quite busy. I had a decent pint of cider. I thought the pub was ok, though not one of my favourite Wetherspoons, my partner did add that the ladies toilets were very unclean.

Went into this pub Thursday lunch time, my husband & I. We’ve been in there dozens of times for lunch, it’s a Weatherspoon pub so not really fine dining, but it is usually ok. It wasn’t at all busy, in fact upstairs there were only about 8 or ten people and not all of them were eating. We got a drink and sat and looked at menu and decided what to gave . Ordered the meals along with the drinks that come with the meals. Ordered a ham & cheese panini and a medium to well cooked sirloin steak & chips . When the meals came the panini was fine but the steak was rare so it was returned . The girl behind the bar said they would cook another steak ! Presumably it was another steak as it took a long time to get replaced. A young chap brought it back to the table, no apology, nothing ! This time it was cooked medium to well but the meat was so bad my husband had a job to cut it with the steak knife let alone chew it ! Nobody came to check if it was ok ! So after having to saw through with great difficulty only about half was edible, the other half was either chewed and spat out or just not able to cut. No one still had come to even take the plates away so I wrote a note to the bar staff about the steak and their service and took it up to the bar and left it ! That got their attention then, both the bar staff were stood reading it as we left. Surely if the food isn’t cooked as requested and it is replaced , that replacement should come with an apology and a little later someone should come to check if that replacement is suitable ????. Even in a Weatherspoon, ?

We was being harrassed by this man all night and started to act really inappropriate we complained to the manager and all he said that just order a taxi and leave it as that, we said about it another time and he said that he would check over cctv but can't do anything about it.

Well what an interesting but annoying lunch we had as a family. They gave my daughter chips instead of soup.they then forgot a few things that was on the menu example no salad in a burger bun or sauce. Then because their where alot of mistakes then offered us all a mini pudding .that was funny as they messed that up and so one person had to wait and eat after everyone eleas finished just like we had to with are mains.when it finally arrived it had to be sent back as had four hairs in and they know it was not mine or my family's as we had a different colour lol.oww what a interesting meal it was I said to them please I don't want another one and walked out.

This pub is very conveniently situated close to the town centre. It is a large establishment and the "pub grub" represents good value as it was generous and well prepared. The service we had was very good.

Came in no sanitizer in the dispenser and staff didn’t care that multiple people came in without masks

Breakfast today - lovely treat - I’m GF so have freedom breakfast and ordered extra GRILLED tomatoes and mushroom. Put not busy but food took forever. Said veg arrived completely fit for raw food diet not even marked by griddle stripes. Asked for replacement -no more cooked than before. Would have made a great salad. Husbands toast never came so requested it and mentioned it seemed like a bad day! No apologies just understaffed in kitchen and bar staff were cooking!

I visited the bar for the first time today and I had to leave a review, your staff are fantastic, very welcoming, friendly and a joy to talk to, one staff member in particular Kennedy was incredibly helpful and accommodating, will definitely be returning!

Yesterday evining we visited at long site restaurant .sir Daniels ..........was osome food was served at the table delicious .the service was enough well served by mr.Brandon .classical cocktails well served by Bartender. Good team work ..enjoyed along site ..amazing

Awful Dreadful Wetherspoons, staff completely unhelpful, ordered two things on the app to be told had neither. Customer service shocking and atmosphere was non existent. Never returning

Arrived at the establishment, picked a table to sit at. Walked over to the bar to be abruptly told everything is ordered on the app. Download the app and order the food using the table number stuck to the table. 25 mins pass and still no drinks or food. We politely ask about our drinks as we thought they’d be out before food is cooked, only to be told no drinks order is on the bar. I show my order that is emailed to my phone only for the staff to say “oh you’re the ones who’d ordered food!” Apparently it was my fault I put the wrong table number even thought that was the one on the table!! Food arrived warm and stale looking. No apologies were made for THEIR mistake. GF almost jumped over the table in anger.Very poor communication, attitude and customer service. Will not be coming back again.

Wandered in today as we were at the bottom end of Swindon and it looked nice and clean. Download the app. no intrusive registration in the app just order food and drinks, table number, pay and it is delivered. meal deals most days. Fish and chips worth trying as fish is just right with a light batter. Chicken strips nice with excellent dip.nice friendly staff. Only downside is it is so busy clear your own table as walking in and grabbing a table does not give them time to clean it.. Two excellent meals and two drinks for £16.63? Really nice staff. Do not really mind clearing my table. Was not dirty just untidy. You will see it is busy so expect a queue. Unless you get the app :) Recommended.definitely.

Visited this pub today with my wife and daughter with our two dogs. Sat down in a quite area outside, one of the female bar staff came out and rudely told my wife, “No dogs are allowed here” she shouted this so loud a group of gentlemen ever heard! I was inside and already ordered drinks, when I asked for a refund the bar staff told me I could sit on the street and have my drinks, I refused and requested a refund. The attitude and manners of the staff were shocking and certainly needs addressing. Might I suggest a sign clearly stating NO DOGS. Regards.

In a time of infection control this place is filthy...the staff are mainly female ..the men's toilets have a check sheet that is susposed to be signed after the the toilets are checked for cleanliness ...the sheet is signed but nothing is checked or cleaned ...this wettherpoons is in the centre of town and it's main customers base all day drinkers , for the staff this causes obvious problems. They seem to have zero tolerance and speak to customers accordingly...but I'm afraid this has moved on to staff talking to every customer in the same manner ...very rude .. no ..please...no thank you ...very abrupt. Do these staff really want a job in customer services?? In short ..not very friendly rude staff and really filthy toilets those germs pass on to the eating areas

Food was as expected, good value for money and quite tasty. Great bunch of lads on the table next to us, taking advantage of the two for one pitchers. A good night had by all! Would recommend!!

What a shame that the bald waiter advised us about the two drink policy for parents with children. It would be nice for him to use his discretion and clearly see that my young teenagers were impeccably behaved. Wont be returning!

Big place, well done out and the usual mix of seasoned drinkers and families. Apparently the toilets are quite a trek up a few flights of stairs, so maybe worth bearing that in mind if you pop in for a quick snecklifter.

Still one of the better Weatherspoons in Swindon could do with some improvement may be extra staff as well as start serving the beer first then asking for the money

Went to the JDWeatherspoons pub , Sir Daniel Arms in Swindon Town after going to the busy nearby McArthurGlen shopping Centre . Although the pub was busy, We managed to find a table upstairs nearby the bar (122) . After a few minutes as there were a few people ahead of me I was served by the young lad with circular glasses who was polite and courteous. We ordered a pint of Bud Light and Lager Shandy to drink , Risotto with pulled chicken as an extra also Fish & Chips with Garden peas, this didn’t take too long to arrive at our table. We thoroughly enjoyed the meal here and the staff were great .

Lady with glasses behind the bar has an attitude, felt uncomfortable when ordering drinks from her! Young boy with glasses however was very polite. Food was delivered promptly.

My visit here was mid morning on a rainy Sunday. It all felt like there had been a big party and this was the morning after the night before. There were few staff on duty, and at times the bar seemed totally unattended.The presentation of my gluten free breakfast was not as good as I have had at Wetherspoons elsewhere, however it was tasty and a good price, so overall not too bad.

Went about 8pm on a Monday night. Despite the place being quiet nearly every table that was empty was full of dirty dishes. Once I found a clean table I ordered drinks and food on the Wetherspoon App. A short delay saw my drinks come which were followed swiftly by my food. My food was tasty, quick and extremely good value. So aside from the dirty tables which were off putting I was very satisfied with my visit.

Went to have a quick lunch with the family, had to ask for the tables to be cleaned, they still weren’t after 3 tiles of being asked, had to clean myself with alcohol gel and baby wipes. One of the meals was stone cold. Would not recommend

I ordered the same food that I always have from weather spoons. The chicken wings and I asked for them to be on a plate rather than in a bowl but it came out in a bowl so I asked them for a plate and asked for my hot sauce to be heated up because it was cold! But 10 minutes later I had to go back to the bar and see what is going on with my sauce and then it arrives back out just as cold as before so I sent it back with my now cold chicken! And was told that I would get new chicken wings! But again the hot sauce came out cold so that was 3 times they couldn’t get my order correct so I had to get my money back because my wife and 2 kids had finished their food

We visited this restaurant about 9 30 on a Sunday night ,it being one of the places still open for food.The food was good ,the service a little slow ,as it was Wetherspoons the prices were very good for the food and drinks,the food was served until 11 pm,a good choice all round

I visited this place on the 1st of August 2019 and I was one of the first customers. I ordered a traditional breakfast and a latte. The breakfast was absolutely spot on the presentation was excellent the temperature was great and the taste was fantastic. The staff were also very welcoming and friendly.

How rude are the staff in this pub ! We where told we will be seen in dew time ! 10 minutes to get a pint only to be treated WE should be thankful for being served. How’s about a smile and a thank u !!! It wasn’t even busy !!! We will not be back ! Shame on you

We had a little tiff with one of the bar staff about who was next to be served, a very surly answer came my way. We had one drink and left. Not enough staff on duty at 13.00 . The bar down stairs and up stairs looked ok and clean. Not bad dinks though.

Had a great afternoon with friends, early evening no signs of any bar staff for at least 10 minutes and people are starting to que, I stick my head in the area where food comes from to ask if they can call someone to serve, a screaming midget tells me I’m not allowed in there, I ask again if they can ask someone to serve, didn’t get anywhere with this one so walked out to the bar, the midget follows me telling all the remaining staff not to serve me, . Get your staff sorted out and there wouldn’t be any problems

We visited for lunch today (3 of us). Such good value. We have the app so ordered from our table (upstairs). Drinks were delivered very quickly with food a few minutes later. 2 of us had pizza and 1 had the Thursday curry special. Staff were friendly and courteous.

My doughter and grandson and myself went into The Sir Daniel Arms in Swindon to have a meal my grandson and me went for the large mix grill which we had to wait for when it arrived I thought that looks good thay got the eggs right and not over cook but that was the only thing that was right the all the meat was lukewarm as I was thinking what to do one of the staff came to the table and ask if the food was ok I no as my meal was cold he said ok sir would you like me to warm it up to this I replied no the meat is overcooded he then told me that thay had on more mixgrill left and then offered to cut a steak in half to which I decilned I ask him who was to this he replied I am the Manager I will leave up to you with that he went away then cam back and put five pound on the table and said is that ok I replied no he then said what more do you wont I said for get it he then walked away on leaving he cam up to me and shook

Came to sir Dan's with my mother for lunch. I went to the bar with her as we walked in and she ordered me a lager and herself a Becks, at the time of purchase I was not asked for any ID. We sat down with our drinks, and decided what to eat and then I went to the bar to order along with the same drinks again, this time I was asked for ID, I told the lady I had already been served and was with my mother, she refused to serve me. She brought over our food and told me I should not drink the pint I'd already been served. We asked for a refund but was not happy at all with the way they dealt with the situation. Even at the age of 16 I was able to have a drink with a meal. I am now 21 and absolutely disgusted. We will not come back.

Spent an hour here with the family ( all adults) for pre drinks before a meal booked up the road . Service was quick and done with a smile , nice pint(s) of Doombar 👍 and reasonably priced

I usually love this pub and the stuff and come here all the time, however a blonde lady i’ve never seen before was rude when my friend had forgotten her ID which I do understand is her job but I run 20 minutes to go get it and after seeing her ID she was rude and nasty to us still and i didn’t feel it was necessary however the manger was lovely about it

Great meal and cheap prices. Aaron, a staff member, went out of his way to make sure we had some deluxe pigs in blankets made especially, due to none being available on a Xmas burger order. Great venue. Fantastic atmosphere. Perfect location. I will be coming back soon. Keep up the great work guys.

Although the food is generally hot on hot plates they are not always sure what should come with the food butter 1 or 2 pates, sizes, not all count foods/snacks available. A bit loafed to go the extra mile but better than the other JD In town.

Popped in for a pint. Chose hand-drawn Abbot. It was well frothy. During the first pull the bar maid openly coughed into the glass. Appalling hygiene.

It's a Wetherspoons.... Big and newest in Swindon. However, tables are sticky and food comes out differently depending on who the cook is.

Having booked for a business retirement (40-50 people) very disappointed with service and organisation. In particular the team leader dealing with the top bar, right from the offset had an attitude (even though a vast amount of money was spent on drinks and food) customer service from this team leader was abrupt and aggressive. As a corporate booking this is the second time service has been under par - will not be using for future functions - do not recommend. Concerns raised with bar manager who will hopefully take on the constructive criticism so other patrons do not experience.

Good Wetherspoons in Swindon that served very cheap beers and competitively priced food. Came in here for lunch and a beer.

Whilst it took forever to be served, the atmosphere and people were very friendly. Prices were extremely good - like you’d always expect from a Wetherspoons. Recommend a visit.

Its alright door staff elite security are ok but dont work in there as its not nice and get told not to come back to the pub but shame about the glasses tho

as a non smoker i like the idea that smokers and non smokers have a separate area prpblem is, its not managed at all and all dtaff turn a blind eye. when reported tjey say they will come and enforce the rule but they fail to do so. not good service

Popped in to try the real ales. I think about six ales up and down but not too exciting. Tried 2 and they were ok. Not the best selection.

I was in the sir Daniel weather spoons only a few hour ago upstairs toilets very bad very long walk from downstairs bar

So after such a wonderful lunch at (a different establishment) in Swindon, then a general wander around the township - we decided to stop at The Arms for a quick rest before moving on with our countryside drive. Well that was a mistake. Other than the use of their bathrooms, I am not too sure that we can say that it was a pleasant experience. It needs to lift their game a little. Sorry.

The bar staff were rude on arrival, made out like we were an inconvenience even though they were quiet. When our drinks arrived the glasses were dirty, smeared in lipstick and when we took the glasses back we were just offered a new glass to pour our dirty drinks into! When we asked for a fresh drink in a clean glass the waitress stormed off and ignored us. Wish I could vote lower than a 1! Avoid and go to the Goddard arms instead!

Diabolical! Only ate the cold hash browns and cold toast because I was hungry! Food was cold, sausages tasted like ash, and hard eggs! Staff don't want to be there, and frankly after that breakfast, nor do I!

Stopped here for a mixed grill and a pint! They had run out of steak so had to have a burger. Very average meal at reasonable price but that’s what is expected from this chain. Friendly helpful staff and the place had a good friendly...

Went for lunch with partner and sister in law and can only describe this place as grotty. Tables not properly wiped down - got mushy peas from the last customer stuck on my sleeve. Wanted to order an all day breakfast but its not on...

Called for the curry night, food served quickly and to a decent standard. Only groan is that a couple of the ales were off and they'd run out of first choice of meal.

On our trip round the town next stop Sir Dan. A couple of interesting beers to try. Quite good but not brilliant. And usually only three guests.

A nice meal had that was quickly served. Staff were pleasant. Wish we’d eaten upstairs where most of the eaters were rather than downstairs where it was mainly drinkers.

My husband and I have just had a pleasant evening at the pub. Food was nice, staff was friendly and it was nice a quiet with no loud music for a Thursday evening.

Spent a few days in Swindon recently and visited the 'Sir Dan' as it's known locally. Nice and clean, ladies the toilets were pretty decent even on a very busy Friday night. Food as you'd expect from a weatherspoons cheap and cheerful. Nice atmosphere would go again if I'm ever back in Swindon.

Continuing our real ale sampling we tied Sir Dan. Not the choice of the other Wetherspoon but one or two nice beers.

Just finished my Ultimate burger and coffee. Cannot fault it for the price. Burger was served 10 mins with a tasty side of onion rings and chips, all hot, burger was cooked well and the salad and sauce portion was balanced. Happy bar staff as well. Great value.

Been in here a few times for Sunday lunch or a cooked breakfast. Generally a good experience with helpful staff and great food. However the quality of both can slip from time to time.

Very nice food the staff are friendly and the place is airy and fresh second time here. I had the chicken strips and chips very family atmosphere too

And so to Sir Dan. Good news is there were some really good ales on. We tried three an d some great tastes.

This is a great pub, good beer and typical spoons food but really the toilets are just disgusting. Both the ladies and gents toilets are well below par. I don't want to go into detail but Wetherspoons are so say proud of their loos - here not so much

I will be honest we were a bit sceptical when we went in but the Sir Daniel Arms proved to be a pleasant surprise. Its a big restaurant on two floors and the food was seriously awesome. Well presented, generous helpings and very tasty. Bar staff and waitresses were great.
