The Shipwright Inn in Pembrokeshire

I can not recommend this venue enough. During covid they have been delivering food to local residents and the quality is awesome. They are so helpful, fun and engaging.

Pre booked our evening meal for the Friday night as we were just down for the weekend. I have to say, with the covid situation, everything was handled very well. We try and have a meal here whenever we are in Pembroke. They never fail, we always find the food and service excellent. Gemma our waitress is so professional,informative and friendly, she really is a credit to the business. I had Tempura battered hake with new potatoes and salad, hubby had ribeye steak, chips and trimmings, then we both had a lovely cheesecake for desert. Sadly, I forgot to take pics of mains, the desert was very generous. Oh, and the beer and gin were good too.We would recommend having a meal at Shipwrights if you're in the area but,pre book first in the current climate. ⭐⭐⭐

High quality very tasty food. I get the impression it’s a firm favourite with the locals and tourists. Honest home cooked unpretentious food with friendly welcoming staff and extremely reasonable prices. We will definitely be coming back.

Our first visit to this restaurant has been amazing even though it’s 5 hrs from home I know if we’re in the area again this will be our first stop. Be prepared for large dinner portions and very friendly service x the food was home cooked and amazing. The team were so lovely

We just had a Sunday roast delivered. We had the chicken, pork and beef followed by apple crumble and fudge cake. It was amazing. Lots of tender meat, wide variety of vegetables and gallons (felt like) of rich gravy. The crumble had large chunks of apple in it and just the right amount of topping with a generous serving of custard. The fudge cake was moist and rich. The whole meal was just amazing and thankfully we can just relax now as we are too full to move!

Serving high quality tasty food during lockdown period for delivery or pick-up. Staff really friendly. Food always delicious, have never had a bad meal here. Good choices on menu Also they sell the most amazingly tasty cheesecakes!!

I have been ordering food from the Shipwright for delivery, It has arrived piping hot and tastes absolutely gorgeous, the staff have been very kind as well.

Called in after a recommendation, was a bit weary at first but as soon as we walked through the door we were greeted by a bubbly, chatty lovely woman. The food was hot and delicious and well presented. Dessert was equally delicious...we will be back....fantastic, thank you!!

Went here today for Sunday lunch. What a friendly and lovely place. Made us welcome has you walked in the door and loved the banter right up our street. Then the food came out a choice of turkey,beef,pork or lamb and lovely fresh vegetables and proper gravy. Plenty on plates and well cooked.opted for pudding great choice and all homemade just has I like it. Most definitely go here again not just for their superb food but for the great hospitality ❤️

We went for a meal at the Shipwright Inn on the recommendation of a neighbour. The atmosphere is lovely and the food is amazing. I have never before had such a huge Prawn Cocktail (a meal in itself) and the steak I had for the main course was cooked to perfection. This is a very popular establishment (for obvious reasons) even out of season, so it is well worth booking rather than just turning up. I can assure you that if you do have a meal here you won't be disappointed.

First time I have ever been to the shipwright for food! Can't believe I have never been before the food was absolutely amazing. It all came out at the same time, food was hot and all homemade where it could be, the lady that served us throughout the evening was great, always smiling and couldn't do enough for us. A gorgeous Sunday lunch as always, generous portions, wide variety of vegetables and vegetarian options, four types of meat. Very friendly and efficient staff, lovely surroundings.

Had lunch there today Fri 21 Feb very warm welcome very friendly food amazing garlic mushrooms and prawn cocktail for my wife home made lasagne home made chips and salad and the best home made steak and ale pie chips and peas absolutely superb will definitely returning thankyou

4 people managed to get a late booking atmosphere great service fabulous food excellent we all had steak for mains all cooked differently and not one complaint and that’s unusual as normally one is not cooked correctly would recommend and will definitely be returning

Went to this establishment with some friends for some food. Had high expectations due to the raving reviews on trip advisor. The gentleman behind the bar was somewhat rude , the food was average - the veg seemed over cooked and had a funny taste to it, as if it was gone off.

Enjoyed a lovely Sunday lunch here great value huge portions will definitely visit again, a gravy boat each was a winner with the kids too

This more like going out to visit fiends than going to a restaurant made so welcome by the staff and then all four of us had different meals and everyone was excellent. Good banter and food what more ones anybody want?

Having read many positive reviews I was expecting a good Christmas meal but it was sadly okay at a push. Shame. My roast potato was a very strange colour on the outside and grey inside. The meat was dry both the turkey and the beef and the yorkshire puds were way overcooked.

Great Sunday lunch, 2 courses and a drink of £15, main meal was lovely and filling with a splendid dessert. Owner and staff were chatty, friendly and helpful. Will certainly visit again.

The Shipwright Inn was recommended to us by a local lady on the street when asking directions and advice for a good place to have lunch. She wasn’t wrong. The restaurant is a little blue corner venue on the water’s edge. The couple who run the restaurant could not have been more friendly or accommodating. The food arrived quickly and every one of our dishes was excellent (fresh, tasty, good size). Very reasonably priced and definitely recommended!

Come here often with work colleagues, family and friends! Honestly such a lovely place, amazing food and amazing staff! Always make us feel comfortable! Was disappointed I couldn’t go here for my birthday as they was fully booked. Obviously no fault of themselves. My favourite place to go hands down!. Highly recommended!

Fantastic lunch excellent value for money. Landlord brilliant could do enough. Meal come in 3 sizes plenty of meat and fresh veg homemade puds to finish.

We visited the Inn for a family meal this evening. We were made very welcome and the food was first class. The Thai Chicken Curry, Steak and Ale Pie and Vegetable Lasagne were delicious and nicely presented.

Would just like to say what a absolutely fantastic place to good to have food. The food was and the barmaid had us in Stitches what a lovely Person I think her name was Jem or Jemma keep hold of her as she is one in a million.

Sunday dinner is to die for! Visited here a few times with my partner and the food and service has been amazing. The staff are all lovely and chatty and make you feel very welcome! Only down side is the size of the place as it’s very small and limited seating area - an expansion would do the place great justice as it’s always popular and high demand! Keep up the good work!

I visited the RAF museum in Pembroke Dock. I asked if they could could recommend a place for quick lunch.and the Shipwrights Inn was endorsed by several of the staff..It not fancy but just plane good. Parking is available on the street outside. The view is over the harbour. Not outstanding but better than many.

We've eaten here as a family on many occasions. Always given a warm welcome, huge menu with plenty of choice. Meals are all fresh and cooked to order. Home made deserts are delicious.

We eat here regularly as the food is always excellent , matched only by the customer service. We booked a surprise 50th birthday Party and it exceeded our expectations. I ordered a buffet style menu for 40 with meats , quiche , salads, potatoes etc and desserts.

Nice atmospheric old pub.p, just across a narrow span of water from a splendid Martello tower. Staff were lovely, food very good. I was really impressed with the vegetarian choices. Not expensive either. Highly recommended.

Had a great evening at the shipwright, my husband & I both had steak. He had the sirloin & I had ribeye, both of them were delicious, he said it was the best steak, he had, had in ages.

We haven’t been here for years because it was not good!! (Previous owners) Gone are the nasty plastic table cloths replaced with lovely linen ones.

Called in lunchtime today whilst out riding our cycles. Needed drinks and some food and as soon as we arrived we received a very warm welcome from the landlord. Had some excellent beer and a lovely lunch. Good was excellent and the homemade steak and ale pie was lush served up with homemade chips. We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch Sat outside overlooking the water. Would definitely recommend to others.

Cozy restaurant with large selection of dinner alternatives and everything was delicious. Just next to seaside. Local drinks are available and you are allowed have your beer at the seaside while waiting for your table.

Enjoyable food but they did not seem happy seeing a assistance dog with us. We were only allowed in the cold area by the door.

We visited on a Saturday evening. Really glad we did. There was a big guy behind the bar that was very friendly and welcoming. Service was just right. I had a mixed grill. It was massive with decent cuts of meat, not the cheap cuts that are often served with large meals. My partner had the steak and ale pie. She Thought it was perfect.

Booked table, arrived ten mins earlier and once again service with a smile and bit of humour. Never had bad service here and can't understand how anyone can ever give it anything less than 5 stars - Think it must be the individual with the issues - its certainly not the staff, food or the premises.

A great traditional pub and restaurant by the waterfront in Pembroke Dock. The food was sublime - the gammon was the best I have ever had. Service excellent - nothing too much trouble. If ever in Pembroke Dock I will not hesitate to return!

This is a step back in time to a traditional pub . There is a good choice of food and drink and a welcoming atmosphere . Oh so many pubs are being modernised with no thought that the customers might respect the real thing that has been built up over time . This dwelling is of constant interest please don't change .

Cracking place with friendly welcoming staff . Food all home made and nothing too much trouble . Fantastic location overlooking the martello tower and Neyland beyond . Two of us fancied the chilli but in a jacket potato (not on the jackets menu) but not a problem . My partner had a cheese omelette which was fab as was the cheese and onion toastie one of our party had . Lovely and toasted not soggy . We all heard the crunch when they took a bite ! Very reasonably priced too and loads of local Navel memorabilia. Also very convenient for the Maritime museum. Thank you for a great experience.

Went here for a meal whilst staying in Pembroke. The owners were extremely helpful on Facebook answering our questions and helping us book a time that suits.

What a fabulous meal we had tonight, didn't wait long even though the food is all homemade. The staff could not do enough to meet our needs, waitress was really friendly and made us feel at home.

You may have to wait for your meal to arrive as everything is prepared and cooked to order. However, your patience will be rewarded by an excellent, well presented meal, the best I’ve eaten out for a long time. The Shipwrights is a small, friendly pub, well worth a visit.

An impromptu visit to Pembroke Dock today and popped into The Shipwright Inn for lunch. It’s rustic, friendly and the food was delicious. You get to sit where there’s a space, food is cooked fresh to order so a bit of a wait but definitely worth it. A little gem of a place and will revisit if in the area again.

Having dined at an apparently top local restaurant on Friday (massive disappointment) we had a table booked for stage 2 of birthday celebrations for wife's 40th. A table of 12 was booked and we pre ordered our food. Having all arrived to a friendly welcome we were served drinks and seated at the table. Within 5 minutes starters were being devoured. Plates cleared and the mains arrived. The children were served first which was a nice touch and then the rest of all were eating pretty much at the same time. Everyone enjoyed the food and lots of empty plates. My rib-eye in contrast was easily an inch thick and had a lovely cooked exterior, although slightly over done for my liking it was still perfectly tender and was soon disappearing nicely with the garlic spuds. It had double the flavour for half the price of the previous evenings offering. If you want good,honest,hot food with a warm welcome then you wouldn't go far wrong by going to the shipwright. Just had a lovely lunch before the ferry. Excellent range of gluten free options including curry, chilli, gf onion rings and even sausage, mash and gravy! Caters for Vegetarian as well with an interesting menu not the usual stir fry veg. Great find. Friendly and welcoming .

Was really looking forward to staying at The Shipwright Inn next week. However due to a combination of poorly trained staff and an inefficient booking system- we have had no option than to book alternative accomodation!

Great restaurant with home cooked food, plenty to choose from. You can also enjoy the sea view after or before your meal. It’s a nice place to dine in the quiet sea view.

Lovely food lovely atmosphere easy to find plenty of parking. whether for the ferry or visiting. you will be made very welcome.

After reading reviews of copyright arms decided to visit as staying in area. What a delight.

We chanced to park opposite the pub one lunchtime. Do not be put of by the blue paintwork.It looks nothing special on the outside,but do go in. It is quite small, but full of maritime interest. A welcoming landlord and a good chef. We enjoyed our unbooked visit, but be warned - it appears to be a popular place to eat so booking would seem likely in the evening. Good value and generous helpings, with excellent chips!

My friend took me to the Shipwright Inn for lunch last week, and although we only had a sandwich and a cold drink as it was a hot day, she remarked to me that the snack was delightful.

Visited the Shipwright Inn Pembroke Dock this evening. Did not book however the host welcomed us in and advised we would need to wait a little while as they had just booked a large table in. We had a couple of drinks and our meal was served, all I can say is that it was fabulous. We managed to squeeze in a pudding and if you ever visit try the cheescake, it is to die for. Would we visit again....Most Definitely

My husband and myself had a meal on Saturday 23rd June. My husband had gammon and I had scamp. Both dishes were cooked to perfection with generous portion sizes. The meal was that good we booked a table for Sunday dinner the next day. As we could not make the time we booked we phoned up and they booked us in for later, nothing was to much trouble. I would highly recommend the Shipwreck for wonderful food and very friendly owners and staff.

Very friendly family pub . We went here for a double anniversary meal . It was a beautiful evening and we was sitting outside b4 we had chosen our meal . When the landlords mother came out and brought the menus out,we had a good laugh and joke with her made us very welcome even the owner came outside too see if we wanted more drinks b4 our meal. We all placed orders then went inside . The meals were all excellent and as we ordered very fast service everything was done to perfection. We had a good laugh with the landlord even having a chat on our table with us . Lots of choice on the menu would highly recommend this pub if you want good food and a friendly atmosphere

Visited last night for food for the first time a lovely welcome from the staff especially the barman food came out plenty of it and nice and hot home made chips we're lovely for deserts you have to try the homemade cheesecake it was great will be going again very soon

Popped in for Sunday afternoon drinks,very cosy place with a strong Nautical theme, great views of Martello tower, sea and Neyland beyond.

This pub is exactly what it ought to be. A historic pub run by someone who values the local history and is a mine of information. The food is well-cooked and presented and it is a great place to relax and have a break before the ferry. The Guinness takes six and a quarter minutes to pour and I was told that was the correct time to produce one as it should be. I agree!
