Park RD Fish and Chip Shop in Pembrokeshire

This is a great chip shop with food cooked fresh. Good location. Plenty of choice on the menu and healthy portion sizes!! Clean and tidy also has seating areas/ cafe.

Having visited this chip shop in the past and found it fine however on our last visit found it very disappointing. Purchased 2 bags of chips after eating 3 or 4 chips my husbands went straight in the bin and mine followed straight after. The chips were more like scraps and tasted like they had been re heated from previous night. Won't be back again.

During January, we didn't expect much to be open in Tenby however this chippy was. We chose to sit in as it was cold outside. We chose a table but were not greeted or welcomed by any members of staff. Food menu was good and reasonable prices. We had 2 kids meals which were great portions, a burger and cod bites. All the food was fresh and really tasty. The toilets were not maintained well and were very dirty. This was the only downside of a pleasant lunch.

Staff are friendly and very kind. Easy to get to from the multi-story car park. The gravy is delicious.

We sat in for our meal. Disappointed with the chips, they were just frozen chips ! Fish was slightly undercooked and the batter was soggy. Tea was weak. Young man that brought the fish and chips over to us was quite abrupt.

The best place for fish and chips in Tenby. All fresh, lovely ingredients. Keep the chips the same always.

Overcooked and 3 large bones in the fish which completely put us off 🤮 you could maybe expect the odd bone but not 3 big ones, gross

Has always been my fav chippy but the prices have shot up! Being local I've pretty much had this as my fav for over 20 years. No way are locals going to pay them prices. Large chips was even missing. Sadly wont be going here again, a chippy has always been a nice cheerful cheap takeaway as a treat. Will be going else where now

Being a local, I have visited here many times, but really disappointed by basic customer service, which has sadly put me off returning. No hello, no acknowledgement of order by mean of "yes" or eye contact, no thank you and no goodbye. Such a shame

This in my opinion is the best fish and chip.shop in Tenby... The chips were perfect, proper chippy chips and the fish..absolutely Beautiful 😍 chunks of boneless fish, in a lovely batter. Well done Park Road Fish & Chip Shop 👏 When I'm in Tenby next time, you will certainly be my go to Chippy !!! P.s the fruity curry sauce was perfect too, sweet and fruity. Probably the best chip shop curry I've ever had!

Really disappointed by our order. We ordered a standard chippy order, battered sausages, large chips and a cod, and paid a fair amount more than we would usually. Massively disappointed by how small the portions were. A large chips regularly serves three comfortably, with leftovers, but there was barely enough for two. The sausages were fine but small. Everything tasted alright, but not worth the money for the portions.

Chippy dinner is starting to get very expensive. 2 adults and 2 children. £50+

We visit this chip shop most months for our family get together and always enjoy it we went yesterday for dinner there were 8 of us we all ordered and food arrived promptly boiling hot fish however chips were cold we mention this to one of the staff who simply replied cooked fresh.... we said I'm sure they were cooked fresh however they were cold on all 8 dinners he walked off saying nothing more.... we ate the fish but left the cold chips the costumer service really needs to improve no apology or offer to cook more just a huge disappointment we mention it again on leaving and again no recognition of our complaint if we hadn't already paid we wouldn't of paid for the chips. Won't be returning in a hurry

This must be some of the best Fish & Chips I’ve had in a long time. Fish was lovely and hot and the chips were tasty and cooked just right. I highly recommend everyone that they need to sample the lovely food. All of our party of six adults all had a really lovely tasty meal. Keep up the excellent work Park Road Chippy.

Food over priced. Burger was disgusting and the staff were very moody and not thankful for our custom at all. Toilet was filthy. Won't be visiting again!!

Chips could do with a bit longer fried to be fair, sausage wasn't good. Curry sauce and Gravy were packet mix (personal preference is that they arent) Fish was lovely mind, tad pricey but it filled a hole. Apparently toilet facilities weren't good but that was just from what i was told. Food came quickly, but again chips needed that bit longer in the frier. Would come here again, but I think some changes would be needed compared to others in the town. 3/5. Definitely has potential!

Used to be good but not anymore. Very small portions. Poor service and left items off our order. Also, both of us felt pretty ill after eating there.

Firstly, some of the reviews of this place are clearly fake/paid for. Secondly, the food was cheap: under £20 for two fish & chips, but it tasted cheap. The chips were soft but also soggy with no flavour and the fish was overcooked and rubbery.

Great chips but a bit of customer service training for the staff wouldn't be wasted!

The unassuming look of this 'chippy' belies what it produces. Our meal was freshly cooked, generous in portion and well presented. Each chip was for us, perfect. Crisp on the outside, creamy and smooth within. Our fish had a crisp well seasoned batter, and the Haddock was firm and flavourful. I had become tired and quite disinterested with this British Dish, because the national standard is on the whole appalling. Ben's quite honestly and most pleasantly, shocked me. This is probably the best Fish and Chips I have ever had, and I believe a Benchmark for the dish. Ben only takes cash but that's not a problem as there is a cash machine right outside. Don't expect to sit down (it's too small), and wait patiently for your order to be fresh cooked, You won't be disappointed.

Highly recommend a visit to this fish and chip shop. We visit every time we’re in Tenby on holiday. We had cod bites and chips,, fruity curry rice and chips and fish and chips with Chinese curry. No complaints, everything was spot on. Will definitely visit again. The takeaway next door is the same place and that’s great too. Son tried a battered sausage and enjoyed that.

Fabulous. Chunky haddock & cod, cooked in clean oil & to order. Clean modern restaurant area also a takeaway. Good prices. Much better than a lot of other food we had in Tenby. Highly recommend.

Fish was piping hot. Chips were smaller than traditional ones but portions were large. Plenty of seating but there are probably other places with a better ambience.

This is a chipper with a sit down lovely food can’t compliant but be aware that to sit down you will pay for it literally double the price food is very good and you must read the menu then go up and order fish and chips are lovely gravy delicious just to say it’s not just this place that’s costly to sit in it’s every where but that aside nice grub

This is the one! Having now visited all fish and chip shops in Tenby, this is the one for me. Everything is fresh and tasty, cooked just to my liking. This is the only one I will visit in the future as I feel they are reliably consistent with their quality and excellent service. Prices are good for the area too.

Very poor customer service, they were moody and didn't care. There was 3 staff members and it took 20 minutes to get our food when there were no other customers in the shop. We visited at midday and the chis were like they were the end of the day chips and hard. Not proper chip shop chips. I wouldn't not go back or recommend in the slightest.

Absolutely disgusting, worst fish and chips I've ever had the misfortune of eating. Over priced, took forever to deliver food to us and in the eat in prices were extremely high. (Almost 30/40% markup to eat in).

What was one of the best around to the most definitely the worst I’ve ever encountered family of 5 all had fish and chips not one of us could even stomach eating a fraction of our meals absolutely disgusting thick gloopy curry probably a spoon full in a pot….stale fish thick greasy batter half cooked chips and half hour wait and it was empty …….gutted stay well clear

Quality far inferior to others in town. Look at the state of this sausage provided (see picture). Chips were cold too. Really poor, far better options.

Fish was clearly not fresh and tasted/smelled like ammonia, couldn’t eat it and had to go to the bathroom soon after. Looks like they have new staff running the place which might explain it, my guess is they’ve gotten lazy with meat produce to save money.

decent chips. the ones that were edible. they scraped the bottom for mine. shame they didn't cook the burger fresh. and the bun had to be microwaved. we all love a soggy bun after it being in a carton, don't we!. I've used this place for years when visiting tenby. might have something to do with the new owners/staff. they didn't look like they wanted to be there. they just stare at you it's quite unsettling. the one didn't look very sober 🙈

We went here this evening for our supper. £29 I didn't know whether to eat it or frame it. The fish tasted off and the Chips were not home made they were frozen chips oven it looked like. We always use to come here but it must be new owners because it was absolutely awful. I wasted mine. The mushy peas were watery and tasted off aswell. Avoid with caution. Never again.

Felt very sad for one of the employees here, felt that there was lack of inclusion going on. Food was nice but feel its not as good as it used to be.

Used to come here often, years ago. Used to be the BEST. Clearly has new owners from when I used to come. Staff didnt seem over friendly tbh but Im there for the food not a chit chat. Had Cod chips and mushy peas, was excellent. Id rather nice food and shabby customer service than the other way around personally 🤣

It was very quiet when we were there. However, our meal was really fresh, piping hot, and the usual excellent standard. Highly recommended 👌

If I wanted fish with my chips I would of ordered it !! I absolutely detest fish in any way or form . Was not impressed that my large chips were covered in disgusting chip batter resulted in me not eating them

Very disappointed with the food today. Batter was almost 1cm thick on my fish and very 'cakey'. Really disappointed. Sausage and chips was OK.

On our visit the fish batter was a little soggy, chips were slightly under done for our liking. Mushy peas great and a nice mug of tea.

Visited on the 5th of September around 5pm for fish and chips, I picked the large cod and chips for both of us and took them back to the apartment. We stay for a week in Tenby around 5 times a year. Have been here before and they were good, we used to go to feccis but they are not the same as they were, not the same quality and service has gone downhill, this time park road was not just good they were excellent. The fish was pure white inside in a really (I mean really) crispy big and fat free batter. the chips were also excellent. Queue time was around 10 minutes as they cook the fish from fresh which I prefer to wait for. I also notice that there were a lot of locals buying here which is always a good sign for me as they can vote with their feet.

It was the best fish and chips in Pembrokeshire (and I have had a go at quite few!). That was until they sold up. Then the place burned down and when they reopened the magic touch was gone. The staff that were working there were gone, and the new guys are giving it a good go, but they just don’t have that magic touch need to take fish and chips up a few notches. We’ll give it another go in the winter, but we used to like going in there every fortnight, as it was that good. I even had a cousin that would make a 140 mile round trip from Gorseinon because he liked it so much. Hopefully, they can get it back on track.

This is by far the best chip shop in Tenby. The food and service are both outstanding.

If you like your chip in a half cooked mulch your fish batter undercooked this is the place for you absolutely awful don’t think anyone in there knows how to cook but full of tourists so they probably do t care

Would agree with some other recent reviews that the interaction with staff is minimal but the food itself was very good. Cooked to order and the fish was excellent. We had one portion of large chips between us which was more than enough. It was recommended by a local guy as the best in town

This chip shop has clearly been taken over by new management. Awfully disappointed in my return after a couple of years ( or more). The staff were surly never saw 1 smile or comment, cearlyrather be anywhere than there! the seats were sticky. cutlery was blotchy. We ordered cod and chips(twice) and chicken nuggets and chips ( twice). The food took a while to come, which was good as it meant it was being cooked freshly. The chips looked very anaemic when they arrived, with lots of small bits of chips.. They were bland and pretty tasteless. The cod and chicken nuggets looked lovely, but the batter was so hard and crisp we couldn't cut through it, although they were not salty. Inside the cod, the ends were hard and very much overcooked, in fact my husband left his after trying to pick his way through the batter. Very much disappointed after our previous wonderful visits.

Great tasting fish and chips and not bad prices. Really nice fruity curry sauce too. We will be getting it from here again in the future. Cooked just how we like it. Crispy batter and nice inside, not squidgy/soggy or dry. The kids portion of fish and chips I would suggest is small enough to feed up to an 8 year old. It was way too small for our 11 yo, but you never know the size until you get it. But we know now!

This place felt quiet, and no locals…this should have been my first warning. Chips are bad and hair found in my food..twice. Walk in and you will see why - do not let fatigue and desperation fool you into buying from here. Two doors before the food and quality is much better. You have been warned

We popped in for a jacket potato with chicken curry and a chicken curry with a small portion of chips. We ordered our food and waited 10 to 15 minutes. The food was a bit slow coming considering we was the only people there. We went and sat down and had our food. I had the jacket potato with curry. My partner had the chicken curry with chips. The jacket potato was OK. The chicken curry wasn't brilliant. My partner wasn't overly fussed with his curry. It tasted like school curry. The chips were OK. Overall I would not have the chicken curry from there again.

Never come across such poor customer service . No please or Thankyou whilst ordering at the till .brought the food to the table and then had to wait for cutlery etc. frozen chips just don’t cut it !! Wasn’t cheap either . No customers in there apart from 4 of us .now I know why . Won’t return on our next visit to Tenby . Never felt so uncomfortable to be honest. Staff just stood behind the counter staring like we had done something wrong . Doesn’t even deserve the 1 star . Fish was like a Birds Eye slab out of the box from Iceland .

Visited with family and chose this place as we wanted to eat inside. Restaurant area was fairly quiet considering it was Saturday lunchtime. We were handed a menu on arrival and told to order food at the till when ready. Fish was cooked fine but slightly odd aftertaste from the oil used. Way too many chips and they weren’t anything special to want to get through them all. I would have expected peas included for the price paid. Ketchup was cheap and nasty. The service and general setup is very much a no-frills experience with the atmosphere of a motorway service caff. A no-frills approach and lacking a few basic ‘heirs and graces’ from a staff friendliness perspective. Not terrible but I wouldn’t return.

Still one of the best chip shops in tenby, portions are large so share if not hungry. Clean and tidy.
