Booked a table and we were given a window table with a fantastic view of the sea. Staff are amazing and very attentive. Food was well cooked, tasty and great value for money. Place is clean, spacious and airy. Nothing was too much trouble and would certainly return again. Recommend to book in summer months though.

Lovely pub. We came late on a Friday evening after arriving late to our local Airbnb. Pub was a lovely spot with plenty of parking and a sea view. The garden itself was clean however we had about an hours wait for food, maybe our mistake for not booking. Food was standard and we enjoyed

I was not too sure about the place when we walked in , but the food was so fresh and delicious. I've had the fish and chips and my daughter had chicken nuggets. I would have liked better quality condiments and a small wedge of lemon with my fish but it's a small thing. I guess with the price of everything I am glad that they choose to buy quality produce over anything else and it was cooked to perfection too. Menu priced well. Staff friendly and informative. Excellent all around, thank you.

What a lovely rural pub with a stunning view of freshwater east beach. Let’s talk about the staff: When arriving at the pub we were greeted with smiles from the staff behind the bar. They were very friendly and couldn’t do more for you. As we had my toddler with us they couldn’t have been more accommodating small cutlery and a plastic cup too which was great as I’m always forgetting these things when we go out to eat! The staff were very polite and helpful throughout offering prompt service for drinks and food. There are high chairs too so this again was great and allowed my little one to continue eating independently. The food: Exactly what you’d expect for pub grub all the pub classics! Plenty to choose from and even a specials board to make your decision harder, something for everyone. The food was warm tasty and hearty. Could not fault it! Location: If the warm welcome and tasty food isn’t enough alone to get you through the doors the view is a must see! Couldn’t think of a better spot in the beer garden on a sunny day. All in all a great pub. Something for everyone!

We visited the Freshwater Inn twice during a recent visit to the area. The food was great and the staff were very friendly and helpful. It's pub food not gourmet dining but what we had was tasty, well cooked and good value for money. My vegetarian friend was particularly impressed by the wide selection of choices for vegetarians on the menu.

This place caters for everyone inclusively. It was the second time we have visited. They have a separate vegan menu. We had the vegetable curry and chilli and shared them, both with boiled rice or there is an option of half chips, half rice. Both meals were home cooked and delicious. The staff are friendly and efficient. There were vegan dessert options and we had the treacle tart with vegan ice cream which was delicious.

We visit the pub as often as we can, always good food and good value. Last week we attended a wake following the funeral of a friend. The buffet food was wonderful, a wide variety, freshly made and a great choice. With about 100 people attending there was enough for everyone, with a fantastic selection of cakes and Petis Fours, and unlimited tea and coffee. Carol and Eichard were there making sure everyone was ok

Very poor service and food, booked for food upon entering nobody greeted us with a smile, the old women behind the bar did not smile much or say good evening, had a drink before ordering, when asked where we seated just a point, table had a tray with the cutlery on it not wrapped, cheap nasty sachets of sauce and vinegar, ordered food from a limited menu nothing special, I ordered rump steak cooked medium, came to table well done,no seasoning eat a few mouthfull while waiting for a young waitress who asked was it ok,informed her steak overcooked, asked if wanted a new one,yes replied,I ate this recoiled one,not seasoned again, still slightly overcooked, had to eat alone as friends had finished there underwhelmed meals, no dressing on the salad I ordered, very poor frozen chips, spoilt the meal,,not a busy place turning people away and hardly anyone there, just run as a hobby, pub grub at it worse, poor menu, service was non existent,no welcoming smile, could be something special if owners could even be bothered, will not return and deffently will not recommend overall a bad experience,

Ordered Fish & Chips for my wife & I and was left distinctly unimpressed. The microwave pinging away whilst we were waiting for our food was a sign of things to come. The battered fish was absolutely scorching hot, far hotter than you could achieve by deep frying - was it microwaved? The lack of flavour and general sogginess of the batter certainly suggested so. Same went for the chips, scorching but with that leathery outer which again suggested microwave cooking. Looking out to sea (there is a nice view) you fondly imagine a guy with his rod catching your fish a day or two before it lands on your plate, but no such luck. It's not that the food wasn't edible, but the fact you're being charged £25 for it left us feeling a bit sore. Atmosphere didn't really invite feedback either, despite what the owner has said in response to other reviews, and we had to move on quickly anyhow - best to cut our losses and run.

Appalling. The fish and chips came almost certainly out of the freezer, maybe from Tescos or similar, and the lamb tagine was cooked by someone who had vaguely heard of spicy Mediterranean food. Lamb in spiced gravy and not good. The staff was nice enough, but had the charisma of a potato. Even the puddings/ Afters were barely above low average.

Really don't understand negative reviews. I've never seen so many interesting and creative veggie and vegan options on a country pub menu. I was very tempted by them, even though I'm not veggie or vegan. Went for the rabbit and bacon pie, a signature dish of the chef. It was excellent: really good pastry with generous filling, busting with flavour. Others in our group had veggie or vegan options which they thoroughly enjoyed. Excellent and cheerful service. Beautiful views. Lovely Welsh cider. What's not to like? It's a coastal gastro pub, not a plush city restaurant. Thoroughly recommended.

Limited vegetarian option. I had a veggie pie with chips and peas. Very dry meal. What a shame the meal did not have some sort of sauce to enable it to be swallowed. Plentiful portion, looked as if all had come straight out of the freezer. There was inadequate seating ( we were advised to book) as the place was busy. We ate outside on some inadequate, low picnic table seating. As I am 70 years old we did struggle to get up! The seating is sinking and needs to be looked at. My wife had the veggie chilli - she said it was not terribly thrilling. As we were staying a few days in the area, we chose to not eat here again. The service was good. A very busy pub.

As a fellow attendee of the previously mentioned funeral wake, I felt compelled to write a review for the first time to share my own experience. The wake was held in the Freshwater Inn as it was a firm favourite of the deceased. It was a lovely buffet, of which I saw every attendant eat from. The staff were friendly, serving drinks and continuously helping with the buffet. Although a sad occasion, the staff here made us all feel welcome and comfortable, ensuring that the establishment was only open for those of us who were there for the wake. What a lovely place, I can see why she loved spending time here. I can’t believe that someone would take the time to be disrespectful towards an event that was organised very carefully by the family themselves.

Really disappointed by our order. We ordered a standard chippy order, battered sausages, large chips and a cod, and paid a fair amount more than we would usually. Massively disappointed by how small the portions were. A large chips regularly serves three comfortably, with leftovers, but there was barely enough for two. The sausages were fine but small. Everything tasted alright, but not worth the money for the portions.

10 of our family went to celebrate 2 family birthdays. The service and food was fabulous and as it was my husband and daughter’s birthday, we were also given 2 small bottles of Prosecco for them and 2 desserts with candles in them. We were made to feel very welcome and the atmosphere was very celebratory. Thank you to all the staff.
