Lovely pub benefitting from a fairly idyllic location by the canal. Nice selection of real ales including a local owl beer new to me. Friendly staff and customers, great relaxed 😌 atmosphere.

Had a little drink out by the river. We missed the cheese and pork pie platter though it did look nice and a lovely touch! Did feel a little shunned at the bar, perhaps it's because we're not regulars? It did have a hint of that feel about it unfortunately

Excellent pint of Taylor's at a reasonable price in a grade 2 listed Pub with plenty of character. Well worth a visit.

Lovely wee local by the River. Nice range of beer and wine on the menu & they have a dart-board (bring own darts). Would be lovely to while away a day watching barges on the river. Dog friendly.

A must visit if your in March great choice of ales with v friendly staff right on the canal can get v busy at the weekend but worth it

A proper quaint old pub with loads of character and an eclectic mix of furnishings.. Staff & customers all friendly & welcoming. Dogs are welcomed and given treats every visit. No food but excellent beers at reasonable prices.

Brilliant night in a very good pub. Friendly, pleasant staff who don't keep you waiting. Had a live band the night I was in and they were great. Would go again

Dropped by this morning on the off chance of having a breakfast, staff was very friendly and helpful, probably the best breakfast ive ever had out.... recommended by the local postman.

Lovely traditional friendly pub with a revolving range of real ales. Enjoyed an excellent pint of Thornbridge Jaipur there on Sunday afternoon. Nice atmosphere.

Great breakfast, my friend and I try different places for breakfast and this is currently one of the best on our list. We go by flavour rather than quantity and this is just the right size too. I didn't have the black pudding it's about an inch thick and my friend said it was excellent.

Great little pub. And great local people. 1 st pint and people just chatting away. Mixed in straight away. Nice bar lady, chatty and helpful. Located next to canal. Seating out side and a good range of beers. Call in again when passing.

Local pub Great riverside location. Summer evenings spent watching the world slip by on the old course of the River Nene Always a good strong set of real ales.

We went for breakfast which was first class. Staff welcoming and all covid rules in place. Felt very safe and recommend a visit.

Stayed in March for a few days. Went to the ship for our first evening. We were very impressed. Fantastic service from Hannah when she wasn’t wiping down the services constantly Thanks for a nice evening.

A really nice old pub close to the river bank. To be fair the breakfasts were very well presented but the only vegan option was avocado on toast, which was lovely with the coriander too, but I was hungry and it didn't quite hit the spot. A veggie sausage would have been good. No dairy milk alternatives and the coffee was rough.

Traditional pub with pleasant atmosphere and generally chatty customers, friendly staff that take the time to present drinks attractively in the right glasses. Breakfast is always excellent, booking is advisable.

Called in twice when kayaking up the river. Very friendly staff and decent beer. Lovely to sit or stand outside by the river.

Visited once in all of 13 years, it's definitely improved as it used to look like a bit of a dump. Had a pint and breakfast (c'mon I'm English) sat outside and it was pretty good for the price.

8 of us today had the Ship breakfast. Our order was taken and despite the various requests on what not to have from the menu description, everything was acted on and served to perfection. Quality food ensured that all of our meals were of a very high standard and excellent value for money. Best to pre book if you want a breakfast here as table space is fairly limited. Once you have breakfast here, you will come back again another day.

We had breakfast today it was superb. Excellently cooked to order and piping hot. Served by friendly and polite staff. Excellent meal and good value for money. Would highly recommend. We then did some shopping and went back for drinks. Wide range of beer and gins. All in all a great experience My London no 1 gin and hubbies goose ale

Mick , jenny and Eva went to March on their narrowboat . We had already booked Sunday breakfast . It was superb . After 62 years it was established that I do like Black Pudding. Everything was top notch . This pub also sells the best beer in town . Thank you The Ship Inn team .

Long old wait to get served. Maybe because it was a busy friday, but the bar staff seemed very inexperienced. No chance of parking on the narrow road the pub is on so you need to park in the centre of the town and walk the last bit. Pub atmosphere seemed ok.

8 of us come here for breakfast once a month, service is superb and breakfast menu is fantastic. All food cooked perfectly - highly recommended

Its got nice ambience and character. This is a real pub at a lovely location by the river. Plenty of good beer, updated regularly. Perfect for a sup and a read of the free papers. The breakfasts are brilliant for the price.

A lovely little boozer with a very good choice of drinks & the opportunity to sit outside, which we did, and catch some sunshine.
