Wonderful fresh food. Friendly staff. Excellent service. Couldn't decide whether to have ice cream or custard so they gave us both.

Really lovely Sunday lunch today. Wonderful to see The Ship back on track. My husband had beef and I had chicken, all very tasty.

Visited here yesterday for Sunday lunch! I opted for the beef with yorkshire pudding which was delicious and melted in my mouth. It was served with creamy mash,red cabbage, carrots, broccoli, peas and green beans and I can honestly say the best roast potatoes I have ever had!! The food was so delicious if I could give it a 10 I would. Will definitely be back for more, Well done 10/10

Went to the ship for Sunday roast yesterday and it was lovely! All home cooked and plenty of it! Chicken was nice and tender and very moist. My partner had the beef and it was melt in your mouth beef Mmmm. Would definitely call again.

Visited the ship tonight on their opening night. Its now under new management and wow can you tell. The staff were amazing so friendly. Food all home cooked was absolutely amazing. Expected a few teething problems but service and food was faultless. Cant wait to return.

Great Sunday lunch , massive portions which included, mash and roast potatoes, carrots, parsnip ,broccoli, red cabbage, peas and leek, cheesy cauli, pigs in blankets, Yorkshire pudding, with plenty of beef, stuffing and a boat full of delicious gravy. All this washed down with some premium San Miguel. A great dog friendly pub with a homely country pub atmosphere. We will definitely be back . Thanks Alex and Faith.

A great local pub full of local characters that made our visit a very enjoyable one ! Bar staff very friendly and attentive . We had only planned a couple of drinks but stayed for hours due to the craic ! If you’re in the area you must visit . We will certainly be back .

I visited with my partner as we were in n abersoch for the weekend, we eat at a lot of top end restaurants but I can say the food here was far better than most of them it was as gorgeous! The Sunday lunch as amazing! We even met a couple at the pub on the beach and we brought them back to you for lunch as they we’re looking for somewhere to eat and we couldn’t recommend you highly enough! They also thought it was absolutely gorgeous and amazing value for money! The staff were also brilliant and really friendly we will definitely be back xx

Fabulous meal which was a birthday celebration. Loved the tapas style menu - we were hard pressed to choose! The whipped feta with honey was lovely and together with hoisin duck flatbread, prawn toasts, belly pork and patasas bravas - we happily tucked in between us. Mains were equally as delicious, large bowl of mussels was a highlight for me but all were thoroughly enjoyed. We were made to feel so welcome and with a mix of diners and locals having a drink and watching the rugby, the place has a lovely community feel too, with a brilliant outdoor area in warmer weather. The dogs loved lying by the toasty log burner, being fed treats by the staff was a bonus!!

Casual feel, rugby on telly, inexperienced server but very polite. Food a mix. Pork belly, chorizo, flatbread, halloumi all excellent. Lamb koftas dry and lacking flavour. Overall elsewhere the menu is a mix of very salty or very sweet. Some of these dishes are excellent but others quickly become cloying and sickly (chicken sizzler). Prices good. 9 small plates and 4 drinks for £86. All in all a pleasant relaxed meal - if chef is reading, just tone down the sugar content a little and include some less highly-seasoned palate cleansers, also cook the koftas 10 min less and add some garlic, coriander, molasses, chili and crushed roasted fennel seeds. Am being very critical as overall food was good, and would come again.

The food was excellent and reasonably priced. The sizzling platter and the teriyaki belly pork were particular highlights.

Four of us enjoyed a lovely evening meal at The Ship. It was the new “La Marina” menu, served tapas-style, with a couple of dishes coming at a time. The welcome was hospitable, the beer local (Cwrw Llyn’s Brenin Enlli on tap that evening) and the food was lovely. We wish them well.

The Ship used to have an excellent home made menu with ample choice, but this has been drastically cut down to what can best be described as tex-mex junk food. Also it not only opens for food Thurs-Sun. The venue has no garden yet their post a picture of one on their landing-page, which is actually of a completely different Ship Inn (I think it’s the Ship at Llanbedrog). I understand their enthusiasm in trying to keep open a local pub, but on social media they express hostility to second home and incomers, who paradoxically used to be the main spenders at the previously excellent restaurant. Bashing one’s main client base does’t bode well for the future.

We have visited the Ship on a few occasions over the last two weeks as we’ve been staying in Edern. Every time we have been there all the staff have been really friendly and accommodating. We have had food on a few of occasions. The food has been really nice, presented well and good quality. We had Sunday lunch there (on the 17th September) and it was absolutely beautiful, the nicest Sunday lunch we have had in a very long time. Also, all the staff made our dog feel very welcome and kept giving him biscuits from a jar kept on the bar. We would totally recommend this pub and will definitely visit again if we are ever in the area.

We booked a table for a family of 5 with 2 large dogs in an outside hut, however we were running late due to our sat nav directions, we called the restaurant who were happy to still serve us later than their cut off time, when we arrived the staff were very friendly and helpful, the atmosphere was great all round. The menu was a 3 course Sunday lunch (it was Sunday 3rd sept) we all had various forms of the meal and were all really happy with the quality and pricing of the food 100% recommend this place and will definitely visit again upon our return to the area.

So disappointed and disgusted. We come to Edern every August and have done so for years. It's where we were raised and moving away for work was so hard for us we made sure to come back every summer to visit family. We have so many good memories here at the ship that seeing it reopened made us so happy. Nothing better than a dog friendly pub for some great drinks and food. We were so disappointed with our experience. The food was fabulous but the waiters were rude and horrible, no order, no training, swearing and arguing with other staff. I was embarrassed just watching this happen multiple times over multiple visits. Its a great place for drinks after kitchen has closed and waiting staff have left but the place itself then lets you down. Dirty toilets, women's out of order all the time, some broken glass on the floor outside and the restaurant floor is absolutely disgusting, the carpet is so dirty and your shoes stick to the hard floor. Better atmosphere outside and beautiful with all the lights , the sheds provide privacy but would be better to designate a smoke area during the day to make it more family friendly

Absolutely beautiful Sunday dinner. Starters and mains were amazing. Had Malibu prawns, pate and soup which were all gorgeous. The beef wellington was lovely. Best carrots, cauliflower cheese and roasties I have ever had and the Yorkshire pudding was to die for. Really great value for money and so nice to see the Ship so busy.
