Stayed in Aberdovey for a week and went here 5 mornings for breakfast and 5 evenings for dinner. Food on all occasions was excellent and the staff were brilliant. My husband thought the mussels were the best he has ever had and I had the steak 2 evenings and it was amazing. Can't recommend this place enough.

I booked a table online for 2 for supper on Saturday 3rd August. As the holiday was a last minute booking so was our table booking. I think we were VERY lucky to get in as quite a few people turned up without bookings while we were there and had to be turned away. We were very warmly welcomed by the owner/manager. We had some great garlic bread to nibble on, absolutely dripping with lovely garlicky butter, then we had seared scallops on a bed of chilli crab, and fried whitebait to start - both delicious; followed by catch of the day (plaice), on some of the best smashed potatoes my husband has ever had - he reckons it just might once again have had something to do with the amount of butter used - but ignoring the sound of his left ventricle slamming shut at this point (if you can't do it on holiday, when can you??) he thoroughly enjoyed tucking in, while I did the same with my moules frites - in a divine leek, cream, wine and garlic sauce and bread to mop it up. We washed it all down with a chilled bottle of portuguese white wine. Service - faultless, food - all delicious, every single bite; atmosphere - cozy and buzzing. We had a really enjoyable evening, and it was certainly the best supper we've had eating out in a long while. A very happy memory of a lovely weekend. THANK YOU team 'Coast'!!!

My 6 year old son wished to try his first taste of crab from Coast, however we were told that it was usually dine in only. The waiter however was super accommodating and really kindly allowed us to order a take away portion, and it went down a treat. A big thanks to the staff for being so helpful and understanding with my son, we'll come dine in for our next visit.

Well we came here for coffee & cake , loved the feel so booked for Tapas, lovely choices Service was good, really casual & dog friendly. Great little deli near the beach. We all had pizzas but the other food we saw being served looked good too. Not cheap snacky lunch - more than £70 for 4 pizzas and soft drinks - but well made and tasty.

High quality foods in the cooked breakfasts The only really disappointing thing was that there were no cockles, despite being advertised as part of the breakfast. As no explanation was given to why the cockles were missing, I had to ask. The answer was that none were in stock Little things like this are the difference between a great breakfast and a truly outstanding one.

A lovely little place to eat, the food was great, I ordered fish finger sandwich & to my surprise ( a good one ) the fish inside & was chunky little fish rather than fish fingers which I loved! & it was on I think Italian flat bread.. I will be doing this at home! & my partner had a ploughman's sandwich also packed with filling. A lovely little place to eat, small and intimate. Also love the fact it is dog friendly. Having spent the afternoon walking on our favourite beach at Borth, my wife and I decided to return home via Aberdovey and look for somewhere to get an early evening meal in the process. Having looked at Tripadvisor reviews for eateries in Aberdovey we opted for Coast and as they had just opened, we were their first guests of the evening. Without beating about the bush, the tapas were simply amazing !! From their extensive selection of tapas, we opted for 'fish of the day', chorizo in honey and rioja, confit duck leg and pigs cheek. All were hot, well presented and tasted excellent; I can't say more !! For reference, as sharing dishes, the 4 dishes (plus bread) were just enough for 2 hungry souls (I'm glad we didn't order more). However, I'm glad I left space for a desert. We shared a creme brulee which again, was excellent (I could quite easily have eaten 2 !!). Service was great .... but then we were the only ones in at the time ! I'd highly recommend this restaurant if you're in Aberdovey and will definitely be coming again when we're in the area. As an aside, a couple of years ago, my wife and I stayed and ate at the nearby Ynyshir restaurant, a 2 Michelin star venue. To put our experience at Coast into perspective, when we were leaving Coast, my wife said 'you know, I enjoyed that meal more than the one we had at Ynyshir'.

The food really shines as does the service. The restaurant is very compact with not many tables, so make sure book because the food is fantastic! We had Moules frites for a main, with olives and bread and oil to start, while our friends had 2 different styles of lamb. All incredible as were the puddings. Cannot recommend the food enough. The service also excellent, lovely friendly waiter. Local beers, gin and whiskey as well! Only thing that might put some off is there is no toilet, you need to go to the pub next door, but if you can cope with that it's worth it!

This place is a bit like an unfamiliar roast dinner. There are parts I liked, some quirks I certainly didn't like and then some standard components that were as expected. So we arrived on time to find that our table was not ready, this is ok, its a fairly intimate setting so we went for a drink next door. Good local village, so when our table was ready a waiter came across to the pub and brought us to the table. Within no less than 5 minutes the waiter was pushing us for our order. He tried to make a joke of it but was being serious. We weren't late, so why rush us? The demeanour was over friendly and slightly uncomfortable. Next one of our party asked to use the facilities... they were sent down the street, to use the public toilets (hopefully not the bushes). This is a major note. Either drop the kids off before you visit this establishment or be prepped for a night time stroll to the local beachside public loos. The food was generally good, but with all the above thrown in (and more that the word limit prevents me from adding) I feel 3 stars is not only fair but possibly generous at this price range.

We are staying in Tywyn to start the New Year and decided to drive to Aberdyfi last night for some food. We went into Coast and thankfully they had a space for two available. The ambience and aesthetic were great and the staff were really friendly, attentive and considerate. The wine selection was great (we had the house merlot which was lovely) and between 2 of us had 7 tapas and 2 deserts which was more than enough! Croequetas and Mussels being our favourite. Really wonderful evening and certainly somewhere we will visit again next time!

Went for dinner. No pizzas available so we had the tapas. Ordered the mussels, most of them were closed which means they we dead before cooking. We also had the squid which was inedible, like rubber bands. The bay fries were also inedible. People we're sending food back all night. Apparently they were just using up old stock before closing for the off season. Hope they sort them selves out for the new season.

We had another lovely evening at Coast. Very good service and our food and wine were as good as they always are at Coast. Best small restaurant around the area. Thank you Team Coast

A shame that the staff don’t understand that the customer is an important element when operating a cafe. All was well until the temperature in the cafe dropped and there was a significant cold draft. It was -2 outside when the staff decided to open the windows so they could cool down. I asked for the windows to be closed as it became very uncomfortable. The answer was, they were hot, so no!! I had to put a coat on to eat my lunch. Asked again, but again refused because they were still too hot. I should have sent the soup back and not paid, but didn’t want to spoil the family get together.

What a fabulous restaurant, we visited two nights running and had excellent food and service. They should feel very proud of what they have achieved. I’d go back in an instant. Superb

Fantastic, from the moment we arrived until we left the service, food and drinks were bang on. We spend a lot of time in Mallorca and love Tapas the quality here was top draw, Will call again.

Let's get this out of the way first. Despite what it says on the website, you can't get a takeaway pizza yet. They are applying for a licence, which might suggest newish owners. Anyway, on to the food. We went for tapas, and I like tapas, and this was better than a certain eponymous tapas restaurant named after a famous chef in Birmingham. The prices are keen, and the bacalao croquettas are probably the best I've eaten. Local hake with puy lentils was a stand out too, as was the duck breast. The friendly servers could not have been more charming. In the end, we were pleased that takeaway pizzas were off the menu.

Very informal and friendly. Young enthusiastic staff with a "start up" vibe. Tasteful music from previous decades. Quick service despite being busy - amazingly so considering dire autumn weather and quiet seafront. We had a seafood selection, not cheap but very fresh, mostly local and skillfully prepared.

Visited Coast last night to celebrate my daughter’s birthday . A superb meal was had by everyone . Thoroughly recommend the seafood sharing board and also the rack of lamb . Service was attentive but unobtrusive and a fantastic atmosphere . Can’t wait to return . Thank you Phil and all your lovely staff .

Really nice local produce for sale. There is a takeout shop and a sit-in cafe 2 minutes from each other. Dog friendly! The staff were friendly and the food was great!

A very friendly café, the staff are very friendly and with good food in a lovely location. But and it’s a big but for me the coffee I had was really bad. I had a decaf cappuccino with oat milk. The quality of the decaf coffee was really poor and it was clear that the had no idea what to do with oat milk. It was a frothy hot drink with scorched milk, not a cappuccino. You should be able to balance your spoon on the foam. This one failed every test.

We enjoyed our food here. It was freshly cooked and tasty. However one of my pet hates is a gluten free meal where the menu is just has the gluten items crossed off and not replaced. None of the gluten free dishes had carbs! Even the fries (ok in themselves) were not cooked in gluten free oil. And I wasn't happy that there were no toilets to wash my hands - had a 5 minute trek to use the not very clean public conveniences.

Definitely the best food we ate in our week in Aberdyfi. The room is crowded and noisy, hard to get a table but can totally see why. Delicious and reasonably priced. Do yourself a favour and book ahead for an evening meal.

Lovely food but service is not good at all. Too slow…… Serving people at counter who arrive after people who are seated for long time. Need more staff and better staff. Won’t be back for a while which is sad.

Ordered 3 tapas dishes each, making 6 in total. They came out a little spread apart for our liking, most dishes were delicious if a little small for the price. Had to send back the lamb dish as raw and had finished other dishes when it was returned cooked some 15 minutes later. Ordered a Cherry Sundae as still had room for dessert, was very disappointed as one scoop of ice cream with a few bits of cherry and meringue for £7.50 (extortionate).
