The Ship Inn in Suffolk Coastal

We booked a semi-private area at The Ship for a reception (around 25 people0 following a funeral. It was perfect for this - we went for a buffet option and the food was delicious and plentiful. The staff were helpful and kind, bar service was great. It's a very nice pub with plenty of character and is just a great setting.

The Ship was packed when we arrived, as any good place should be on Mothering Sunday! We were warmly welcomed and shown to our table. Great choice of menu! No awful set special menu but a good selection and a choice of roasts. Both the lamb and beef roasts were ordered for our table and all came piping hot with extra gravy, crispy roast potatoes and a selection of fresh vegetables. After delicious desserts and a gift of a cute scented candle for the Mum's we left the Ship happy with both the quality of the food and the attentive service. Thank you

If you are looking for great food, wonderful service in a warm and cosy environment look no further. We had an amazing meal picked from a wide variety of different dishes served by a very friendly and welcoming member of staff. Nothing was too much trouble for her. Taken here by a friend for an early birthday meal on 1/2/24. Had the chicken stack. Was extremely poorly with food poisoning that night and the next day. Noted that another reviewer suffered the same as me only a couple of months previously. Definitely will not be going back.

This place seems to have zero space for anyone wanting a drink just to avoid any confusion with people actually mistaking this place for a PUB! Walked in - every table was set up like a diner. I asked a member of staff if there's any space available for us to have a quick coffee and beer - this was around midday. We were told a seating area was free as it wasn't booked until 1230pm. Unfortunately, the people who made the 1230 booking, then turned up at 1210. And rather than them be told their table wasn't available until 1230, instead the staff began to stare over at us - suddenly we began to feel very uncomfortable and unwelcome. Not content with simply trying to stare us out, eventually one of them braved the "confrontation" to ask us to move - rather than simply politely as the early arrivals to exercise a little patience. Or maybe not book every single table to maximise profit over customer experience? We won't be back.

We arrived late due to traffic problems and were still looked after very well indeed. The food and service were excellent

A Birthday evening dinner with family. Vanessa and Dani were outstanding and went above and beyond,especially as they were a member of staff down. The menu is well thought out and the food is very well presented. The Levington Ship is a lovely Deben Inn overlooking the River Orwell. Visit either with family and friends as a couple or solo. It won't disappoint.

We had the Christmas menu and the food was fantastic. Great staff and service and even a free bottle of Prosecco on arrival which we were not expecting! Will definitely be returning in the new year.

I had the winter vegetable wellington off the Christmas menu. Rather dry and unexciting. Starter filo prawns, more pastry than prawn. Very good service but not over impressed at the price.

Beautiful location,across the road from a footpath down to the river. Large car park and lots of outside seating. Dog friendly which is great. Inside the low beams and tiles floors give it a lovely feel.The staff are efficient and friendly. Good is brilliant and nobody could leave still hungry.the vegan burger is very tasty. The southern fried stacked burger was huge! The puddings were fresh,piping got and delicious,and the portions large. We went for an anniversary dinner and thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

Had a party of 6 Adults & 2 Children, staff very helpful, food came out quick, but first course was ok, but main course was not so good, I had slow cooked shoulder of lamb, which was re-heated and tasted not great, Same with 2 others that had the pie, not a great flavour, chicken stack was dry, sorry but not worth what we paid.
