Great home cooked food. Limited menu. But what they have is the best and home cooked. Bar staff and owner were great very helpful. Great old fashioned atmosphere. Would recommend for great night out.

Didnt eat the the owners are lovely, the atmosphere is greate and when the suns out it is just such a nice pleace. 10/10.

First time in here tonight as moved to the area made to feel welcome thanks to the owners son!!!

Popped in for a couple of pints just by chance as we like to explore pubs around the county. We were made to feel welcome and a very nice and cosy place it is too. We like to try out different ales and first we had a Shipyard ale at £4.30 and then a Wainwrights ale at only £3.50 which is good at todays prices. The ale was kept well and tasted great, there were a good selection of lagers and ciders too as well as the usual spirits. We will certainly be going back there frequently.

Just moved around the corner from the pub just popped in and the staff very friendly haven't made my mind up 100% as need to go in there couple more times for the first time staff were friendly the Venue was clean and tidy and does have a pool table

Really nice little pub and I definitely plan to come back. Overheard some of the locals dismay at the fact I was masked up when going inside to order but you can't always stop people being offended by what you wear.

Had a Sunday lunch take out yesterday 16th may. Was beautiful, piping hot, meat cooked very well, roast potatoes lovely. Couldn't fault it. We will be back.

Had an enjoyable home cooked meal for the four of us. There is a good range of beers and three handpull's, also lots of different Gins to try.

Four of us had a wonderful afternoon tea this afternoon - fresh produce and homemade cakes and scones - wonderful!! We noticed that they did teas after a great lunchtime meal so booked - keep up the very good cooking and very welcoming and friendly atmosphere.

I went with some friends and it is very down to earth, simple but good food. I certainly enjoyed my vegetarian option.

The first time we'd been in since a recent refurbish and we were impressed. Pleasant surroundings, good music and a good choice of beers and wines plus good service. A great start. Talking of starts, we both chose the garlic mushrooms - just delicious. Both mains were tasty and came with home made chips, definitely a bonus. We'll be back!

This little pub has just been saved. On downward slide towards who knows what (oblivion!)? - until new tenant management arrived a month or so back. Great publicans who are offering a great range of drinks including real ales (beautifully kept), lagers, wines and spirits in very convivial surroundings. There is a planned phase of improvements for the bar and overal property which will also add to it's already remarkable transformation. This pub typifies what the old British pub used be, so why not drop in and have a drink and/or meal ? and meet the guys who run it, and also some of the locals (some are strange, but worth getting to know as they are a very friendly bunch)... highly recommended

Lovely pub with a real 'local' vibe to it - super friendly atmostphere created by great hosts. Good selection of beers, lagers, wines and spirits. Good food served most days too... If you live in the area or are just passing - drop in and see for yourself.

I haven't been to The Ship in years but my Dad lives opposite and every time I visit him this flashes up on my Google Maps so: 5 stars as it looks great from the outside, keep meaning to go in but a cuppa is free at my Dad's so........

Been drinking in the ship for 20 years now. Its what I like to call a proper little pub. Under new management now so hopefully will still be as good as it's always been.

Great home made food and fair prices. Steak pie in particular is always great. Real hand pull ales are always in good condition. Bar maid never smiles unless you're in every day and she knows you; the only thing that lets the place down
