just would like to say thank you for amazing afternoon, The macaroni was spot on and the service I could not fault the staff was so efficient and so polite I definitely would have dimension Laura who was so efficient and so polite and welcoming. We will definitely return again.

I wasn't quite sure how to book, not having ever tried before..And yes I got it wrong, trust me. We arrived and was seated. Waited maybe 5 mins. Only to find our booking couldn't be found, although my receipt told otherwise. Anyway. blah blah blah. I was 100% to blame. The manager although extremely busy took time in explaining. That lady deserved a medal. So after apologising at least 1000 times. We sat and possibly ate the best of meals, absolutely nothing more to say. Other than a massive thanks to the lady (manager) the chef and staff, sorry for the inconvenience I caused. 🫣🫣🏆🏆🎖🎖✨️

Love The Ship in Preston, Paignton, food is excellant and Sarah and staff so kind and helpful my family when visiting from the Midland always want to visit the Ship as they love the Old Faithful Beef and Chicken burgers also the Fish and Chips and Gammon are so tasty highly recomend paying a visit.

Went in there for lunch wasn't that busy still had to wait 45 minutes for the food to turn up, then when it did one of the kids meals was completely warm. Took nearly 15 minutes to get the right food and then brought it out on a red hot plate for an 18month old, the food was average at best and luke warm don't think well be going back. The place is desperate need of a refurb aswell

Busy Sizzling pub in Paignton 7 or 8 minutes walk from Town Centre or Seafront.Ale was drinkable.Food very enjoyable.Initial service was good but then we didn't see our server once the main course arrived.

My husband & I have this afternoon have had a wonderful meal. It was priced reasonably. We intend to make this our regular place to eat. All staff are very helpful....wish we had known about earlier. Well done to ALL

A great place to stop after visiting Preston beach . 5 minutes from the main road and bus stop it is convenient and we always receive a warm welcome. Food is excellent value and well presented

I always recommend this place to people who would like to have burgers. Always hot and packed full of flavour. The atmosphere is amazing the staff loves to have a laugh and are also professional and accommodating to the guest needs.

The Ship in Manor Road has been our local for many years. We have always been happy with the food and service. This week Sara and her staff have excelled. We were lucky enough to be able to hold a funeral wake in the private area upstairs. The food and service were excellent at a very reasonable price. They did one of their regular customers proud. Thank you very much Sara and staff.

Visited for lunch as it was my Wife's birthday - nice meal & a drink, service was good. The only downside is was the place felt cold so we had our meal & returned home - we would have stayed longer if it had been warmer !

Working away so poped in for something to eat, a nice fresh pint, had the mixed grill, steak was cooked perfect, so was the rest, couldn't fault anything dog friendly and really good polite staff always happy to help 👍

Absolutely Fabulous. Have been coming here for nearly 20 years or so and has changed a few times. After the recent refurbishment and new menu it is the best it has ever been - shame I couldn’t give 6 stars. Exceptional value, great service and lovely atmosphere. Usually you can get parking round the back. Came here twice with the same server recently on a Friday I think and she was great, tell she was rushed, working very hard but was still friendly and recommended dishes etc. Is now my go to place for a meal with friends and family more than ever! Recommend the Tandoori chicken.

The establishment has certainly gone down hill over the last few years. Pre COVID, the food was amazing and the prices great. The atmosphere hasn't changed, it's very family friendly and sort of a pub classic sort of vibe. You do get the overly obnoxious people speaking too loudly and kids pretty much every time you go though, running around. They do have colouring and crayons. I ordered a halloumi burger. I am by no means vegetarian, but it is mostly seen as a vegetarian meal and I have purchased this from other establishments many times. What I received, was a cheeseburger, with halloumi on top. After taking out the meat I did not want, I basically had a salad in a roll. Now, my bad for not reading it properly, but it took an hour for this meal to come. We pre booked the table, and I wouldn't even say it was manic busy. That is just typical service time, an hour. The food that came was fine. It didn't change my life but it wasn't so disgusting I couldn't eat it. By the time you have waited an hour you'd eat anything. There is parking around the back, first come first serve. There is about 20 or so spaces (maybe less) so it is near impossible to get your car in most days. For reference, we got the last space on a Thursday night at 7pm. You have to type in your car reg, so make sure you do that too. It is good prices, for my 'halloumi' burger (which came with chips and onion rings), some garlic bread on the side and an apple juice, it cost about £17. That isn't too bad at all for the prices nowadays. The upstairs seating area is almost always closed off and half of the place is a bar, so it goes to show it wasn't that busy at all. We tend to go for birthday meals, which is fine. It's cheap and there's something for everyone to eat. I would recommend going for those easy cheap meals but don't expect more than what you pay for. Outside seating in summer.

Visited a lot of times when ive been in Paignton and tbh the last few times its not been as good as it was. But this time it was much better. It was busy but got served quite quickly and the food was really nice

Amazing place, they have great food, madri on tap and allow for DnD sessions on Wednesdays but still give room for other events while it’s on! Everyone there is super friendly and great service!

Came in as on hol and had a voucher to spend aswell and love a sizzling pub. Lovely and spacious inside and found table easily. Ordering was easy and girl who served me was nice and friendly. Food came in reasonable time,ordered two gammon meals the pineapple was dried out and small and gammon chewy cz fatty. Skin on fries was fab. We asked for salt and was told they had none by girl then table next to us asked us if had salt we said we been told isn't none so they wasn't pleased either. My family member used toilet and a bucket down hallway maybe for a leak but they said was a unpleasant urine smell from toilets as walked by.

Myself & husband visited the Ship last Sunday evening (13th) and we would both like mention how warm and friendly all the staff were, also that we both had exceptional meals, especially my husband's mixed grill, cooked really really well, and as he described it " the best meal in over the years of visiting the Ship " so a big shout out for the lads in the kitchen who I believe were Liam & Anton. Well done to them, and we will look forward to more visits in the future.

Very nice but it could do with a good clean. Salt in the pots were all congealed- don’t they know by adding rice to the pots absorbs the moisture!!

Lovely meal. Very reasonably priced. One disabled user in a wheel chair with us. Staff more than happy to help and friendly. Customer service was excellent.

I came in for dinner out with best friend this evening and was served by Tracey. She was the most attentive and jovial waitress we've had in this establishment. Previously all other waitresses have been miserable and cranky,csp it was a joy having her serve us with such a pleasant and friendly attitude. Thank you Tracey.

Weather in Torbay was lousy yesterday & had my family visiting. What to do ? So We all went to Sunday lunch at the ship in Preston sands had a fantastic time. The roast dinners were sumptuous & I enjoyed 3 Yorkshires 😊. This is a proper pub were they will serve you outside or in the pub or restaurant. Staff are friendly & efficient & deserved their big tip ! Great selection of beers, lagers & wines in a friendly atmosphere, only spoiled by watching Villa on TV in the afternoon. Many thanks to the glamorous Sarah & her good looking staff for a wonderful day 😊😊

Came here for the murder mystery, absolutely great value and great night

We visited on Friday 20th September for an evening meal which was delicious and service was great. There was a Murder Mystery event happening and we watched what was happening, everyone seemed to be very enthusiastic and the actors were great. We had fun watching so maybe next time we’ll take part. Who ever organised it did a great job. A member of staff called Elisha (I think) is a very competent server, always had a smile. We will definitely visit again.

Attended the murder mystery event and on Sunday and had a fantastic evening. The staff were dressed up which really helped create a great atmosphere. I have the steak and chicken which was cooked exactly how I like it. The whole evening was incredible highly recommended!

Good location with only a short distance to Preston and Paignton beach. Staff are really friendly and accommodating. Really good that they let dogs in the bar area with plenty of space and treats available for your furry friends. Lots of choices on the menu, the dessert shop waffle was sooo good. Highly recommend this place. Can get very busy in the evening so I'd book a table to avoid disappointment.

Recently had a wonderful experience at the ship, the food was lovely and came out within good time, my kids really enjoyed their meals and the staff were so friendly and kind towards them even when they were being loud. I would 100% recommend this restaurant and me and my family will be coming back again very soon.

Staff were all very welcoming and friendly especially the young girl who served us at our table very friendly. The food was excellent really good value and very tasty . We had the curry and tandori skewer, with salad, nan bread, pop a dom, chutney, samosa and rice and the tandori skewer with roasted vegetables and skin on fries. Both meals were excellent

Was not impressed that I had to send my dinner back twice cause I asked for no onions, and this was left on my plate. Even my steak was not what I asked for. We did complain but was face with we are busy and a chef down.

The food was lovely and very reasonably priced, the ladies toilets could do with an upgrade!
