Delighted to realise this restaurant's kitchen is open for later evening dining after the theatre. Just a few minutes walk from Babbacombe Downs. Busy and atmospheric when we arrived at 10pm. Excellent quality and value. Extra hot at my request. My acid test for quality and cleanliness is that I am not holed up in the bathroom the following morning. 🇬🇧🇳🇿

Had an enjoyable meal. So nice to see goat curry on a menu. Asked for my main dish to be hot, not sure whether a mix up or not but it was actually quite mild.

Ordered momos via the phone. Very friendly and helpful lady took our order. Delivery was on time and came right to the Travelodge in Torquay. We ordered lamb momos. Oh my goodness! They were absolutely delicious. Freshly steamed. Juicy. Full of flavour with a delicious chutney. Highly recommend momos for a starter or a main.

Great food especially the home cooked nan bread. A nice variety to choose from. I would recommend if you're in the area.

We booked an early doors table on the spur of the moment and we were not disappointed. We were greeted by the lovely Dolly and once seated we had s lovely chat with her.(We were the only people there at this time). We decided on the set meal for two as we haven’t got big appetites and the selection suited our tastes. Lovely poppadoms and pickles, followed by onion bhajis and chicken tikka. We enjoyed this (my husband doesn’t eat too spicy food) so much by the time the mains came, Nepalese curried lamb and chicken Korma we were struggling to eat it. The lovely Dolly, once she knew we were only unable to eat much as we were full, offered to pack it up to take home. At £36 for 2 people and a take away I think that is great value. The drinks were very reasonable too. It was all delicious and the service was excellent so we will be returning again soon.

Beautiful Food , Friendly Staff

Food was great and fairly cheap. I was with a friend with specific dietary requirements (Vegan and gluten free) and the waiter was very helpful.

A lovely meal out at the Himalaya redden hill road , I don't like spice but this meal was really nice chicken peshwari with peshwari nan , nice table service and enjoyable conversations with the staff , highly recommend for an evening out with the other half , or a take away meal too , yum yum 😋

Just had a superb evening at Himalaya Restaurant in Redenhill Road, the food was amazing, very tasty and brilliant service, would highly recommend. This little gem is certainly worth a visit and they also do takeaway for when you want a night in.

I love spices, Tandoori mixed grill, very disappointing, lots of dry tasteless chicken, not marinated for long enough, overcooked prawn. Even the Aloo Gobi was bland and lacked spice. £32.65 meal for 2 so…not a cheap meal ! Very disappointing.

Fancied a curry and found this place close to our hotel. As it was a Nepalese restaurant we decided to go with the Himalayan goat curry and Chicken Shazani, both were delicious as was the lemon rice and peshwari nan. Could not fault the food and the service was also excellent. Friendly and polite but not in your face. If we’re ever in the area again we will definitely go back. Would totally recommend.

We had a fabulous evening last Saturday. The food is always brilliant, piping hot, beautifully prepared and extremely tasty. The menu is wide ranging. There was a slight mix up with the table reservation when we arrived but it was sorted out very quickly and charmingly. Service was great all evening and a very reasonable price. We usually have a takeaway from here every week!!!! But it was lovely to eat at the restaurant, thank you all very much.

I've been eating here for a long time now, Omin is a top chef and a decent bloke, if you're looking for a curry in Torquay I would definitely recommend.

I love my Indian food but this was far from the 4.3 rating it currently has - I'd say more 2 star than 3. The prawn rogan josh was terrible and we had to bin it. The daal & paneer dishes were acceptable but nothing outstanding.

Food is stunning, staff are wonderful and really trying to constantly improve on what is already one of the best in the bay imo. Price was surprisingly good. Go and visit!

That was one of the best India meals me and my partner have ever tasted,we are from Gloucestershire area and was on holiday,and we will definitely be back next year for another meal like that,as that was the most tastiest Indians ever 10/10

We ate here several years ago and loved it. Having recently moved to the area we ordered a meal to be delivered. We waited 70 minutes when we were told 50 minutes, hence 4 stars instead of 5. The food was gorgeous, every dish was excellent, so much so we've booked a table for next week for my mother's birthday!!!!

A bit dated inside but that was fine and the photos online showed that. Around 8 tables inside so a fairly small place but cosy enough. Poppadum's and dips absolutely fine. I ordered the Nepalese chicken chilli which was poor. It was like a cross between a a stir fry and a curry. No sauce and the chicken was very dehydrated, had a dark colour and tough and chewy. Garlic Naan bread ok but a bit stodgy to what were used to. I did complain and got a "sorry" from the waitress. Nepalese bottled beer hit the spot. Partners Bhuna curry ok but her chicken was tough also. Overall, not the best food and if this is an advertisement for Authentic Nepalese I'm not a fan unfortunately.

Booked for 2, the food was wonderful, superb service from the young man seving but sadly he seemed on his own most of the time and was very rushed! The restaurant is a little worse for wear and needs a refurb, in future i would order delivery or take away as i said, the food is wonderful.

Decided to have a takeaway on a friend's recommendation, just had a tikka massala with rice and bhaji not cheap and I guess the sauce was a tin of tomato soup with a few spices in it very disappointing 1st and last time for me

We have been here a few times now and the service is excellent, really friendly people. The menu is a mixture of Indian and Nepalese food, some really nice dishes. Our dinner for two with drinks was around £50, so great value as well, no wonder the delivery man was do busy. The decor may be a bit dated but that just add to the charm

After our wedding we chose the Himalaya for a Indian with our family.We had such a fantastic night,all of our meals were gorgeous,piping hot food and the taste was fabulous, the best curry in Torbay by far.The staff were brilliant, they even gave us a wedding day card and a bottle of wine when we left. Thank you for making our day so special. Looking forward to coming back again soon 😀😀

We called to place an order at 5.50pm and was told it would be a 60 minute wait. 2 hours later still no food. We called them multiple times and every time, they put the phone down on us after we asked for our money back. 3 hours later and still no food, and no refund yet. Really terrible, I used to really like a Himalayas but now I won’t order from them again. Totally ruined our evening. Do not order takeaway from them!!!

Regularly get take away from here and normally OK. Disappointing this time, they clearly can't cope when their restaurant is busy in the summer months. Told 20mins for pick up and waited almost an hour. Food average and don't get me started on the "fresh squid rings with green salad" for £5.20. Think we'll head back in the Autumn when they are hopefuly giving better food and service

Delicious fresh food. I ordered the momos, paneer shashlik, garlic naan and vegetable curry. The paneer shashlik was sizzling and full of flavour. The staff are so kind and helpful with information about the menu.

So me and my boyfriend took a walk and we seen this place and decided to give it a go. They were very accommodating and attentive as well as being polite. The food was honestly very good. The chicken curry the curry goat and the rice was spot on. The poppadoms were lovely and came with 4 different dips. I can’t fault this place and the prices were really cheap ! Will deffo be back again.

Haven't been here for three years due to Covid.. Service was good, food was good. We had Himalaya Curry and Nepalese Chicken Chilli. The latter was especially good. We ordered papadum and because it has been so long that we have eaten out fell for the chutney offer (bye bye £1.40). I am old enough to remember when the chutney onion and stuff was complementary... Anyway that was down to me. What hacked me off a bit was that we ordered two diet cokes, watched the waitress open two cans and pour. When we got the bill we had been charged £4!!!. That is why I chose 3 out of 5 stars. Will go back again but won't have a drink. Food fine but watch out for extras. 2 xPapadum 2x Chutney Himalaya Nepalese 2 x Pilau rice Chapati (actually we ordered an aubergine side dish but could be my fault) Peshwari Nan ( probably the best we have ever had). TWO CANS OF DIET COKE FOR 4 QUID... Bill came to £37.10 We had a good experience and an enjoyable meal

So pleased we decided to treat ourselves to a meal in this delightful little restaurant as a change from hotel food. We chose the Himalayan Goat Curry and Himalayan Butter Chicken, both of which were delicious. My other half enjoyed the Ghurka Beer as well. Cosy friendly little restaurant with delicious food. Highly recommended.

The food ordered looked phenomenal (as if we were ordering from an expensive restaurant) and tasted great too.

The food we ordered were all piping hot and was served in good time. The staff were kind and helpful, definitely going to return.

Fantastic freshly cooked indian meal with imaginative new dishes as well as some old favourites. Everything from the Roti’s to the black lentil Dahl were really memorable.

Used to love ordering from here, then they must have changed chefs because suddenly everything was spicy and I couldn't eat anything.

I understand that it was understaffed at front but being seated while the 2 families that were behind us get attended first is wearing on our patience. Should have gotten our orders before theirs because they were making up their mind after reading through and discussing what they want on the spot; end up took too long before we were attended to. Seriously need to prioritize who to service first unless you're trying to discourage dine-ins. — Honestly, food is good but will not dine-in again and just stick to takeaway by ordering over the phone instead of making other customers wait longer.

The food here was superb. I had the Nepalese chill chicken and it was fantastic. It tasted so fresh and the chicken was really flavourful. The rice and naan were perfect as well. All washed down with delicious Nepalese Gurkha lager. The service was excellent. Very friendly servers.

Had a meal delivered. The chicken tikka forgot to pick up some spices on its way to the tandoor. The chapati were crispier than a packet of Walkers! Maybe they were yesterdays and they couldn’t be bothered? The lamb Bhuna was bland to say the least. I was really looking forward to a nice meal and have now had to cook a meal that has flavour for myself. Please don’t get excited as you will be let down.

Without doubt the best Indian cuisine in Torquay. Restaurant is pretty tired and dated, but the food always amazing!!

This a great small indian restaurant with all the normal curry choices but with excellent specials too. We had a takeaway which was delivered within a hour. Worth a visit if you are in the area.

Had to wait 2 and a half for food when it eventually turned up starter incomplete and food not hot. Ordered the chicken pathia which wasn’t of normal taste and consistency.

This isn't a restaurant. It's a takeaway with a few tables thrown in. If you are a sit-in diner you are definitely not the priority. We waited 10 mins to be asked if we wanted a drink. Ordered a bottle of wine & two glasses of water & poppadoms. 10 mins later I had to go to the bar to remind them. 10mins after that it arrived. Main course was ordered. we waited 30mins no food. The wine wasn't the wine I order on the menu it was a cheap swap out. We left the money for the 2 pops (we ordered 3 but hey who is counting), the wine and tiny amount of pickle they begrudgingly gave us and left. Don't do it to yourself. To be clear, it wasn't even busy - two tables had eaten, the pair of us and another table of two were left waiting while the delivery driver was coming and going. I left a two star review as nobody believes a one star and they don't get read. The only positive is that you remember bad meals more than good ones. This was so awful it was actually funny.

Unfortunately not following suit with other reviews. Ordered madras and it was more like salty gravy. All three dishes were no where near a decent curry, blandest curry I ever had. Will not be ordering again. Such a shame used to be good.

I cannot in all honesty even rate them 1 star but had to to post the review, after I ordered a takeaway for 2 at 18.25 on a Thursday for delivery which I was told would be 40 minutes. I phoned about the order a further 4 times after the time I was told I would receive this and it hadn't arrived. I eventually cancelled the order at 20.09 as I think they should have been able to walk it the 2 miles to me in the hour and four minutes it was late at that point, what upset me more than anything was being lied to everytime I called that it was out for delivery, that and the fact I received no apology at all from them.

fancied a curry and found this little place not far from the hotel. When we realised it was run by a Nepalese family we decided instead of an Indian style curry we would try some Nepalese and it did not disappoint. Service was slightly slow but they were so apologetic and actually was quite nice having time and not feeling rushed. Tried the momo which is a nepalese dumpling and was so delicious. For main we had the goat curry and the himalaya garlic lamb. Cooked beautifully and full of flavour. Very impressed

We wait for vegetarian stater for 45 minute, but when it's come it was very nice main course was very tasty and parking is free AFTER 6PM ON ROAD and size of NAAN IS VERY BIG. IT'S WORTH IT FOR POCKET.

Greeted on entry and seated in window where we requested. The new waiter really pleasant attentive and helpful with direct discussion questions with the chef. My son enjoyed the lamb and goat, I ate 2 veggie courses, which were lovely with fresh vegetables and herbs both rice dishes light and flavorsome and I really enjoyed the Peshwari nan. Drinks more on the expensive side overall enjoyed and will visit again .

Rang on a Saturday expecting to wait but told it would be an hour, I thought, that's not too bad. However, it arrived after 2.25 hours. They wouldn't give you a correct approx. time as I would have said "two hours, no thanks I'll go somewhere else"It would have been a nice touch as a way of apology to put some free papadums and mint sauce in with the order.I would recommend any people ordering on a Saturday night to at least double the delivery time given.

AMAZING FOOD! Nepalese Garlic Lamb was far better and quite different to a normal Indian. Look forward to trying some of the other dishes on the menu that I've not seen on a menu before (like Nepalese Goat) and will be having another Peshwari Naan for sure. Loved it!
