Lovely pub for a pint with the wife

Lovely pub with a modern yet cosy style. Staff are always welcoming and a good selection of ale. Edit Jan 2025: another lovely afternoon in the ship. Good beer and friendly staff.

Popped in as daughter had event at SVC. Lovely open fire (more pubs need these) pub was very quiet (but was 6pm on a Tuesday). Lovely pint, but crisps were a month out of date and lady behind bar seemed blasé about this. Didn’t really bother me, but I know some people get bent out of shape about this.

Went for a pint, no food. Was a lovely experience

Good prices for drinks. Nice outdoor seating area. Regular live music events

Went to the ibiza beach party ...it was an excellent night

Long time since been in tbe ship .the pub has had a very clean and tidy facelift since i was last here. Good choice of beer . excellent staff. Clean and tidy.

Went for a few pints , was quiet as no football on but served by a friendly fella, will be back again :) for the beer not the men lol

Nice and cosy. Good house wines. Just the place for a cheeky quick drink with your bestie. Outdoor tables available too if needed.

Very nice owner and very polite

Good atmosphere, staff are smiley and helpful. Would recommend the outdoor area - good start to the lockdown restrictions lifting.

Great visit as ever, and really well managed around reopening post lockdown 3 - gazebos and heaters, online ordering and quick service.

Always have a great time when we go here. Great choice of drinks, friendly staff and great live entertainment when there is some.

Great pub, cold beer and friendly staff. I live in Australia and when I visit my sister in England, I always make a point of going to this pub, they also have a fun quiz every Wednesday.

Would be even more great if staff had some excitement or perhaps enjoyed their work. I've visited many small pubs where others would not think of visiting, but everytime the service I received from them puts "The Ship" at the back of my queue for what I experienced. Sorry but true. The place is cool, but a smile might be a good start for a welcome visitor.
