Good food and atmosphere, slow service..

Food was really nice , bar did shut earlier than expected last orders at 9 and we felt like we had to rush our leisure time . But maybe due to to first Monday of January , although they was a few groups in there .

Everything was good, just service was slow. Took 40 mins for our order to arrive even though it was not busy

I went to the Sheepscar Bar & Grill on new year's day for my birthday, it was my first ever time going there and it's something I was looking forward to for a few months. The prices are kinda crazy but atmosphere is great and the service wasn't too bad, now I say it wasn't too bad because if everything went smoothly this review would probably be at least 4 stars. My order apparently didn't go through (now idk if this is true or if my food went to another table by mistake but it is what it is) and I had to sit there as my family all ate without me, until my brother finally decided to go check on what was happening with my food. They told him that my order didn't exist, my friend that paid for my order had to prove that we actually did make it and show that he paid for it which felt a little condescending tbh. I did eventually get my food and it was great but by the time it came everyone had finished and they were just waiting on me so we could all leave, I ended up packing up most of the food and eating alone at home which defeated the whole purpose of going out for a birthday meal. They were apologetic and the man in the grey suit was accommodating after the fact, they even gave me some free food on the house as an apology which is why I've put off writing this negative review but the only thing that comes to mind when I recall my birthday is how bad the dining experience was. Plus the food I ordered was for everyone to share but by the time it came everyone was already full so I didn't even get to order what I actually wanted to eat. Would probably never return

Best Indian food ever in Yorkshire or could it be the UK

Absolutely fantastic! My husband had been a few weeks ago for the first time with his work team and we had been meaning to try it for a while. Today was the day. Absolutely great atmosphere. Clean, plenty of space and most importantly great food! It was fresh, not too spicy as we requested the medium spice and was quick on getting the food out. I find it really hard to find great Indian food places (as we are Indian so we are picky!) but this hits the spot in every way. Plenty of sports screens around which was cool but not in an invasive way either. We tried the cheese naans (highly recommend). Thin and soooo tasty. I’m not usually a fan of naans due to them being heavy but these are light and just right. They were so moreish. I also quite liked how the food wasn’t too oily too. Fresh and super tasty. Really impressed and will be back.

The chicken tikka is so spicy I couldn’t eat it. Why make it so hot? It never used to be like that. I wish you could tone it down a bit. I like spice but this is ridiculous. I think someone’s hand must have slipped with the chilli powder!

Beautiful food good service great time 😁

I’ve visited a few times over the last couple of years with family, a couple of times we have had a large group and the service has been great, food is excellent always around a 9/10 albeit a little pricey. We will visit again I’m sure! Next time my brother in law Pav must remember his wallet, I wouldn’t mind but he always orders too much food and needs to take a doggy bag home!

A massive thank you to the whole team at sheepscar, they made our evening event special. A big thank you to Dhamini , front of house, who made sure everything went smooth, constant communication which was perfect. All round lovely experience. My family and I will definitely be returning.

I’ve got really conflicting opinions about this place. It’s a smart place, great toilets too. The music is too loud and the menu layout is the worst I’ve ever seen - it’s really hard to understand if you not visited before, and this was our first visit. BUT, the food speaks for itself! If you can separate the food from the environment, it’s outstanding. Tasty, freshly cooked, very high quality ingredients and great service to boot. This was our first visit and won’t be our last, but I’d really appreciate a more formal menu. If you’ve not been before but fancy a superb, contemporary curry, I can highly recommend the Sheepscar and I’m already looking forward to eating there again.

I have been to the Sheepscar many times before, for a few pints, to watch boxing, even to eat. As a vegan, I found it disappointing that the only vegan main course was Chana Masala. However, they have expanded their plant-based line recently, and I thought I'd try an Apna-style Vegan Chicken Balti for my Christmas dinner. There didn't look to be much there for a £12 takeaway, but it sure was good! Hope to have time to eat in next time, and I'm looking forward to it.

I have to say, the service was fantastic! Riya, Sidharha and likhita were incredibly attentive and made sure we had everything we needed throughout our meal. To top it off, they surprised me with a complimentary birthday cake to celebrate a special occasion, which was such a lovely gesture. Overall, it was a wonderful experience, and I highly recommend this place for its great service and warm atmosphere!

Just a huge thank you for looking after us last night had a great night and the staff at sheepscarr were amazing including Sudhir....thank you so much for making my daughters birthday so special. Always highly recommended 👌🏽 and food was absolutely 10/10.

Never had a bad experience at Sheepscar. Food is always 10/10, with varying flavours per dish (quite rare for other South Asian restaurants!) Very well priced, service is great and plenty of on/off-site parking.

We Went for our works xmas do so was a large parry we arrived on the night and the service was appalling the so called resturant manager doesn't have a clue he Lacks basic customer services and basic understanding of anything and no professionalism at all. 2 of our party got their food extremely late even though we chased this up lots several times it's arrived after most of the party had finished and several items where missing. We chased this up several times with this staff member. He tried to rectify it by offering free desserts which no one wanted because we was full then proceeded to offer everyone a free drink for this to be then taken back at this point I had lost my patience with him. He even asked a fee of the larty if everything was OK and when they replied saying no still waiting for food he ran away literally. On paying the bill he tried to charge us for items we didn't order or recieve so as you could imagine at this point I was quiet frustrated with him. He tried to talk to me several times whilst leaving to apologise but I told him when you have a parry spending over £600 you expect a better service than we got. There was 2 other tables from our company their seperate booking and they also got their food late and one of their orders was the larger mixed grill to share which they was brought 4 mixed grills which again they didn't order and refused to pay for all but the one they ordered one was taken back as it was too much food which they took the majority home. I think Friday night they took too much on the food was nice as always however the service was shocking the only nice thing to say was Damini the reservations host is a credit to you and does a better job than the resturant manager.

Sheepscar Bar and Grill is hands down the best grill in Leeds so far! The Sheeps King Grill dish is an absolute standout—delicious and full of flavor. The bar staff were amazing, offering great recommendations and creating a fun, lively atmosphere. The floor staff were incredibly helpful and friendly, making sure we had everything we needed. A special mention to the hostess Damini Gupta ,who was so welcoming and made us feel right at home. She helped us pick the top dishes and really made the experience memorable. Can’t wait to come back!

I visited Sheepscar bar and grill on Saturday, the ambience is so lovely and Christmasy, love the decor!! The food is banging, best food in leeds hands down! The staff is friendly and helpful!! Damini came to our table multiple times to check if everything was okay and it made me happy that they do care about the customer satisfaction!! 100% recommend this place and going to visit soon.

One of my favourite places to go and eat. I’m never disappointed when I go. The food is incredible and fantastic service from Likhita. One of my favourite places to eat out reasonably priced and great atmosphere and friendly and welcoming staff.

Amazing food. Amazing service. If I didn’t live in London, I would visit everyday. Harsh and Shreya were our servers and made sure we were very well looked-after! Sudhir went above and beyond to make sure the food was piping hot on delivery and that we had everything we needed throughout our time at the restaurant. A beautiful restaurant, with beautiful food and beautiful people.

Waited 1:45 minutes for it to arrive stone cold and had absorbed all the moisture from containers so was soggy.

Came for my mums 51st birthday and we all LOVED the food so much! It was packed full of flavour and the staff were extremely friendly and accommodating! It was definitely worth the trip all the way from Castleford! We will definitely be back!

Great ambience and nice food with quite large portion sizes, so worth the wait Harder to get parking during busier hours, but overall really enjoyed the resteraunt

Sheepscar eve The service we have received has been impecatabl from this person the manager Sudhir came up to my table and asked everything is okay as usual. This I find a very personally touch. I would recommend this place to my relatives. And last the staff are creative and polite.

The food order was taken wrong but the manager wasn’t the most helpful at first but did get sorted in the end. The service from harsh was amazing he was kind and helpful and promised a better experience next time.

Me and my boyfriend came here this evening and it was my first time the food is unreal and the servive was so good likhita was so lovely and made sure everything was okay all through out !

The paneer butter masala was sweet and tangy however the service was amazing but a few minor issues such as the waiter saying the opposite things from what we said.The chef was awesome to help us correct the mistakes in the paneer.Atmosphere was perfect it was not too cold or too warm.

Iv been going to Sheepscar bar and grill, at least twice and month, for a number of years and the food has always been absolutely spot on. The staff are friendly, the service is on point, the food is perfection and the venue is very relaxing.. highly recommend everyone and anyone to go down and experience it for yourselves.

1st time eating at this restaurant with the family. Food was great and would definitely try it again. However did not understand why you had to order food at the bar and not at the table. The waitress was really helpful and did take our order for us to the bar as we had a bar tab. Only thing that was disappointing and would stop me returning was the loud music that hindered ability to have conversation.

I don’t think the chefs here know what a chicken khari is. The dish was full of tomatoes seemed like they put a tomato soup tin in there too!! I think they need to go to Akbar’s or Aagrah and try their khari so they understand what a khari is or they need new chefs. Absolutely ridiculous of a khari. Don’t even attempt to buy a dish from here

Phenomenal food. Mixed grill was suggested and didn't disappoint. Fish pakora was a surprising star of the dish. Service was perfect. Lakhita was great.

Was a great experience. Luquita (sorry for the incorrect spelling) was a great host and she handled a complicated order really well, my Uncle ordered a customized dish and she advised him on that and made sure the kitchen and the order point, knew exactly how he wanted it.

Sheepscar Leeds is an outstanding place for the real deal punjab desi food .mix grill is exceptional mouth watering and great sized portions. Currys out of this world so fresh and tasty.rav is the perfect host with a warm and humble welcome and made us feel like family to the sheepscar crew. Rav made sure we had everything we needed and was happy with the food and service .the staff simran ,dhammini ,anil are a great asset to sheepscar and delivered an excellent service and showed so much warmth and welcoming making sure we was OK and needed any further assistance. They are truly amazing in there work and delivered excellent customer care and service. Thanks guys for and truly amazing experience and we appreciate you guys .

We've enjoyed both dining in and takeaway here multiple times and have left stuffed and with zero complaints every time! Food is delicious and always pleasant to wait for a takeaway collection in house with a beer. Great service from Divya & Damini for takeaway collection this evening.

I’ve been looking forward to trying The Sheepscar Bar and Grill for a while now, and was so glad that I did! The food was so delicious and the service was really great too! Thanks to Ayush who checked upon us during the evening. The Sheepy King was so yummy and we ate the whole thing, even though it was quite heavy for three people. The chicken wings were tender and went well with the sauce. Perfectly cooked and the flavour was amazing. We also got the chicken tikka pizza which I would recommend! The selection of beers are good, Liv and Sami were great at the bar! Everything was honestly delicious and I cannot wait to go back!

Shreya was our waitress tonight and went above and beyond for us! So friendly and helpful. She made our experience 10/10 and couldn’t thank her enough for our experience here! Would definitely come back again!

Went on Sunday, wasnt even busy but food took awhile and chicken was raw. Manager didnt care and waiting staff didnt know what to do. This place has gone down hill, dont know what the manager is doing.

I’ve given these a good review before when I ate in but I’ve just had a takeaway delivered and felt compelled to write another. The food is outstanding. Very tasty and obviously marinaded well same as before. Keep it up 👍

First visit having heard from others how good the food was. And they weren't wrong. Be warned, though, this is properly spiced curry. Whatever you have at your local takeaway, this kicks it up a notch. And a shout out to Shreya, one of our servers. She was fantastic.

Went on sunday 15th September waiting staff dont have a clue rude and unprofessional.

We went for the mixed Indian grill with naan - and all of it was very very tasty. The naan slices were cooked to perfection and the meat had obviously been marinated well making the overall taste 👌 👌 👌 👌

Poor service manager doesnt know what he is doing poorly ran. I feel sorry fornthe waiting staff as the get left to deal with complaints while managers and owners hide away.

I recently visited Sheepscar Bar and Grill with my husband and two children, and unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. While the food was decent, the atmosphere felt uncomfortable due to the manager’s constant staring at us while we were eating. It made my family feel uneasy throughout our meal. We were hoping for a relaxed dining experience, but this kind of behavior was unprofessional and distracting. Sadly, we won’t be returning.
