After many years of being loyal customers, we've decided we won't be using them anymore! Their website won't accept our postcode, we are a 2 minute drive down the road. Usually we have no issues with them honouring any online discounts because of their online issue. But tonight they refused, even though it isn't our fault. We've spent so much money here over the years probably thousands. We will spend our money elsewhere from now on....

Rural Restaurant: Great Food, Poor Management. 👩‍🍳 Local Restaurant: Fabulous Food, Disappointing Management 🍴 Enjoyed scrumptious, authentic cuisine but experienced poor management during my visit. Friendly head waiter and recent renovations are positives, but customer feedback was met with hostility. Perfect spot for casual rural dining if you're willing to overlook unprofessional service.

I went as a solo diner and was refused the banquet deal. Never in 50 years of eating out at Indian restaurants have I been refused because I was on my own. Disgraceful.

All the food from the Jewel is top quality, tasty and the portion sizes are spot on. As a lover of chillies and garlic the Jewel don't disappoint, the garlic rice is loaded with sliced garlic, GREAT. Keep up the good work Jewel.

I’m a good curry lover! And this is at no.1.. we tried this as something different from our usual takeaway and we’ve not gone back! We have tried a fair few different dishes and all have been outstanding and flavours you won’t find elsewhere!

Awful, awful, awful. The acoustics are absolutely terrible so the one table of eight at one end and the noisy music at the other triggered my PTSD ist as soon as I sat down. I My seat was so low and saggy that the waiter couldn’t hear me order so my partner had to order for me, which I hate. And then my starter came. I asked if it was vegetarian and they said yes. It was not vegetarian. Which then meant the owner came across and shouted first at my partner for ordering a non- vegetarian thali for me and then he shouted at me to say I should have ordered it myself and shouted louder to the waiter. I sat in disbelief while trying not to cry. But I had to give in, go outside and have my panic attack quietly. I was in an abusive relationship for 30 years hence my being triggered by someone shouting at me and then starting to hide my emotions. The starters were dry and tasteless so we asked for the main courses to be packed up as a takeaway which they eventually did, I asked the owner if he made a habit of shouting at his customers and apparently it was my fault for not talking loudly enough. I also have asthma so I can’t always speak up especially when I am stressed. This incensed me so I waited outside in the rain while they cooked the food. As we left one of the waiters was staring out of the window in what felt like a threatening way. So he got two fingers stuck up at him. The hot food was good. Until I found the green rubber band in the takeaway container. To summarise - avoid.

Starters, mains, garlic rice, peshwari naan QUALITY, restaurant quality food. The Masaledar Chicken is very special, strong flavour, spicy, bang on. Keep up the good work Jewel.

The salad for the starter was fresh, crisp and the mint sauce was also fresh, very nice. Onion bhaji, Quality, crisp on the outside perfectly soft in the middle. The chicken Masaledar is amazing, spicy with the sweet peshwari naan and garlic rice. Quality and very tasty. Keep up the good work Jewel.

Always really enjoy the food here and the staff are really nice. Chicken and Spinach is my favourite for sure.

Great food great service highly recommend

Great service and wonderful food. We shared a Thali meal and were astounded at the quality of the dishes. The food seemed to be cooked in a more old-fashioned and traditional way than most restaurants. The Tandori chicken was a little sweet for my taste, but cooked well so that it retained its moisture and pleasing texture. The other dishes were all very good with lots of flavour. The starter was a good if slightly novel kebab with a superb samosas. Served with shredded lettuce beautiful mint sauce and a slice of very fresh lemon. We got four small main dishes a small portion of rice and a naan. Everything was good. The lamb was tender and succulent in a pleasing sauce. Two of us dined for less than £17, I did leave a good tip though, after all, it was the best meal that I have eaten in years!

We went for Christmas Dinner 2023...on arrival we were quickly settled into our table.. There was a Christmas menu for 29 95 and an a la carte menu..we selected the latter we had poppadoms.. 1 starter and 3 main meals 2 glasses of wine 4 pints of kingfisher...it was not explained that we could only have the Christmas menu. ..which included 7 courses half of which we didn't take..the lager was extra ..we were charged over £100 had we known we would have taken every course..and brought most of it home...The food as usual was excellent..it should have been explained fully but wasnt..the food and drink we actually had would have been no more than £20 each..I like the place and the food but they were taking the proverbial

Being new to the area we didn't know where to go for a meal. The hotel we were stopping at recommended the Pearl of India Bridge Street, Otley. We were not disappointed and and had a lovely meal provided by a friendly knowledgeable staff who answered any queries we had and what to choose. A jolly good evening - would highly recommend. Thankyou!

We had a take away ordered 2 Chicken Tikka Balti’s .. well we’ve had many a Balti but never Red .. and not chicken but king prawn .. the pilau rice was brown when it’s supposed to be Yellow .. terrible food grizzle and just hard

Very disappointing!!! Tried Jewel of India for the first time and will NOT be going back. We got 3 different curries which were totally different styles and all of them tasted the same- vile! Naan's were stale and had no flavour and the curries themselves certainly didnt taste freshly cooked nevermind have any depth of flavour. Very poor overall, one of the worst Indian meals we have ever had!

Had a great family meal here. 12 of us included 2 under 4s. Nothing was too much for the waiter who was professional, extremely friendly and very knowledgable. Food was spot on, tasty, fresh and plentiful. A very enjoyable experience and would highly recommend.

I dined here on a chilly Wednesday evening, the place was very welcoming and I was soon shown to a table and had a nice pint of draught Kingfisher and a menu. I asked for chicken and spinach which wasn’t on the menu, this was not a problem and when it arrived, it looked great and tasted even better. I got a couple of chapattis to go with it, they were large, soft and still hot from being freshly cooked. I ate the lot, very tasty and with a starter and a couple of drinks came to just over £20. This was always one of my favourite restaurants and they didn’t let me down. Will definitely be back

ordered food waited an hr rang got told sorry order was cancelled but not there fault I told them I was going to review them and got told by the manager to do what I want !! disgraceful and such a shame I always used to enjoy there food but never again ! don't oder food for delivery because they can't be arsed delivering it !!

Haven't been here for nearly 5 years. Ordered my favourite- Lamb minty Buhna special. The head waiter came and said "it is you. You are the only person that has ever ordered a lamb mint Buhna!" Well it was as good as ever, and I fully recommend it. Very tasty meal 👍

Superb food at very competitive prices. We have been numerous times and never been disappointed with our choice of dish - prawn, meat, vegetarian. The service is excellent and and although the interior isn't particularly imposing, the cosy atmosphere more than makes up. This very busy and popular Indian restaurant is well worth a visit - we went early evening with two five year olds and were made very welcome. Jewel Of India - Jewel Of OTLEY!!!

A great meal out 2 bottles of white wine, 6 pints 2 oranges and 1 lemonade and 4 bottle of water later plus foods all is good defo will use again. This is an otley must and defo recommend.

Absolutely stunning! Thanks it doesn't look so great from outside, but, trust me, it's more than worth visiting! All of us agreed it was by far the best Indian dishes we ever had! I've been really everywhere in Bradford and Leeds, but this little place defeat them all! Maybe only Bradford Akbar Lamb Karahi can be better, otherwise hand down on everything!

Great place. Presume the negative reviews are from competitors. The service is friendly and the food is spot on. This is from someone who has been to about every curry house in Bradford.

Fantastic customer service and quality food, definitely be back there. My son and his girlfriend use these and love it so we gave it a go and ws loved it.

Great tasting food at reasonable prices

We went to Jewel of India as a large, eclectic group last Monday (30 January) and were all so impressed. The service was swift and friendly and the food was delicious. All allergies and dietary requirements were addressed efficiently without fuss. It made for a great end to a long day for our big group.

Gorgeous meal and really great service! Despite a rude, self entitled, condescending customer coming in and shouting at the staff regarding some samosas whilst we were in the restaurant...We have had them many times they’ve always been lovely! Just seems like a customer that always has to be complaining about something. But the staff still kept up their brilliant service even though the customer’s attitude was disgraceful. I couldn’t recommend a better place for a curry!

The best curry I've had in YEARS. Absolutely spot on! Quality ingredients perfectly cooked with a huge flavour. Mixed pakoras were unbelievably good and the prawn puri is to die for. Well done Jewel! We will be back! Amazing!!

Omg where to start here. The starters were chicken pakoras and the batter was soggy the chami had no meat in it and it should have been minced lamb, the mains prawn dupiaza was so hot I was unable to eat it, the lamb passari was full of lentils , very little lamb and again so hot we were unable to eat it, the mixed grill was cold dry and inedible , the service was none existent, we did complain and they were apologetic but I wouldn't go back

We normally go to Westbourne spice but decided to give here a go and what a mistake that was. The service was slow, the food was absolutely terrible and 3 of us didn’t touch the mains they were in edible. The toilets were filthy all in all it was a horrible experience and 1 we won’t be attempting again x

Was in friday night for the first time.yes not bad the staff where magic.i asked to see there tandoor oven t0 which they invited me to the kitchen yes they have a tandor.food was decent .tasty enough.no complaints.handy just next to hotel where i staying.prices are very good.

Always been our favourite Indian restaurant and we had a takeaway tonight instead for a change and honestly it was amazing everything was spot on , full of flavour and piping hot

I was pleasantly surprised, the food was excellent, poppadoms and pickle then had a prawn started, delicious. Then being from Bradford, I would normally have what you may call a classic dish, but I had a special one, third one down on the right hand side of the menu. It's was really, really good. Chapattis where spot on, forget your big posh places, go to Otley. Excellent staff, spoke to one of the guys, he was really passionate about the place. Prices not karachi cheap, but not agra expensive.

This was the first time I'd actually been to an Indian restaurant,I found the staff extremely friendly and efficient, my partner and I shared a pickle tray which I loved, I had chicken pakora starter and chicken korma with rice as I knew it wouldn't be spicy, my partner had Vindaloo which I tried some, was very tasty but very spicy for me, the food was lovely and service was extremely good,

First the bad bits. The restaurant was empty and looked very spartan. Not welcoming at all. My friend and i sat down and were immediately given pickles and poppadoms. The poppadoms were horrible. I literally spat it out. Just tasted of rancid fat. My friend prdered chicken nuggets and chips, which seemed to make the waiter angry as he had already put a poppadom down in anticipation of her having the early bird menu. The chicken nuggets were £6.50 but he insisted that this was part of the early bird menu and we would have to pay £11.95. He got quite confrontational but I stood my ground and said if it was on the bill I wouldn't pay it. I also pointed out that the extra poppadom was untouched as they tasted so rotten. The good bits My starter was chicken tikka. It was a very large portion. One piece was so tough I coudn't get my knife or fork into it, but the rest of it was very pleasant. My main course of chicken karahi was absolutely lovely. Very smoky and corriander tasting. I thought it would be dreadful after the poppadoms fiasco but I have to give credit where it's due and say it was very nice indeed. Service was terrible, food (apart from the poppadoms) was actually pretty nice.

Lovely food, friendly folk, good value, fast delivery

We have been visiting and having take away from here for lots of years. Gone down hill....chicken tastes old and tough in starters and mains! Not pleasant..mango chutney disgusting watered down and awful...is a shame but feels below average now.

Speedy, but not good. The pops were burnt and went in the bin. My starter was passable and my curry not good either; that too went in the bin.

I recently ordered a takeaway. They charged significantly more than the price that is on their menu. When I queried this they told me they had increased their prices by 20% due to increased costs because of the coronavirus!

Especias secas y bien y un Shahi Sabzi Masala: papas, garbanzos, berenjenas cocinadas en salsa tandoori con almendras y coco. Y un peshwari naan y un poco de arroz pilau para compartir.Guau. Usamos Jewel of India esta noche para la hora de la calle 1 (solo recibimos quizás tres comida para llevar al año) y preparamos la comida vegetariana para dos. Entregado temprano por 17!Selección de entrantes vegetarianos (bhajis de cebolla, champiñones, ensalada y un puré mixto de verduras) todo bien y en abundancia.Los platos principales eran bhuna de vegetales mixtos, que era mi favorito y un balti de vegetales mixtos que también era bueno y tenía algo de calor, lo que me sorprendió gratamente, ya que hemos tenido varios curry de verduras mixtos decepcionantes anteriormente (¡de otros lugares, no de Jewel of India! ) Los platos principales fueron servidos con pan naan y arroz hervido.Muy recomendable por precio, tiempo de entrega, calidad y cantidad de la comida y otra mención rápida de la picante agradable.Un plato mixto de carne y un pollo Madras la próxima vez para que pueda comparar sus versiones de estos clásicos.

Honestly the best takeaway in the area, got a 1hr 15 delivery time delivered within 20 minutes, driver forgot to drop something off, came back to apologize and gave it to us before we even realised it wasn't there. Friendly driver and overall the food is absolutely amazing first choice for an Indian!

After a few drinks with my Brother and his Wife Jackie 4 of us decided we needed a Curry! Well we didn't need one, but you know what I mean! We hadn't booked and after trying other ones in the town that were full, at least an hours wait. We only had to wait for 10 minutes before they had sorted us a table, top service, and Top Food!

We visited the Jewel for my husband's 60th Birthday excellent food and very helpfull friendly staff x will definitely be going again x
