The Secret Beach Bar & Kitchen in Swansea

I haven’t eaten there yet, but the coffee and toast are delicious. The ambiance is relaxing, the staff are helpful and friendly and the location perfect on the beachfront with views over the Bay. It is very popular and fills quickly. However there’s plenty of outdoor seating with a van selling a variety of options.

Lovely food and an amazing Sunday roast. They cater really well for gluten free, plenty of options and a gluten free roast and pudding. Would highly recommend.

Have to say we picked a perfect winters day with blue skies to eat here. Service and food were top class. Will definitely be returning.

Great atmosphere and a lovely welcome our server Zaid was exceptionally attentive and very helpful. Food was good we had fish and chips, non fish burger and fries and jackfruit bao buns which I did think was pricey £8.50 for two but they were very tasty! Will definitely be back!

Visited here last week for a roast dinner and it was lovely, it was really busy so we had a drink first outside then they were able to move us inside to eat, will definitely come here again when visiting Swansea.

This is one of my favourite restaurants in Swansea. The restaurant is right on the beach and has stunning views. The staff are always friendly and the menu has lots of gluten free options.

We ended our holiday here after being recommended to go. Zade was serving us and despite the place being fully booked stayed calm and professional a real nice lad too. The calamari starter was great and we both had the fish and chips which was so good. For the location and quality of food and service I thought the price was fantastic too. We will definitely be going back when we come down again

Lovely Sunday lunch in a great setting.

We had a lovely meal yesterday lunchtime . We were served by Zaid who was excellent. We had a lovely welcome, first class service and pleasant conversation with Zaid . He looked like he was enjoying his job and is a credit to the place. Food was delicious too. We’ll be back .

We arranged a family Christmas catch up here, to allow some of our less mobile relatives an easier way to attend. The pre-brunch communication and helpfulness from Sophie was great, and our welcome was equally as welcoming and friendly. The menu has plenty of choice, catering for everyone from the less to the more ambitious. We all thoroughly enjoyed the location, meal and experience, made even better by the excellent service from the staff, who all deserve special praise. We have travelled significantly, and eaten at numerous restaurants, but our experience at The Secret was up there with the best.

Wasn’t very hungry and ordered a side of chips, they were cooked but for £4 it was good enough. Music could be quieter for better ambience though. It was quiet when I went.

The Secret Beach Bar, Mumbles Road opposite the Cricket Ground. I recently spent a superb evening there with a group of people who were alone. Musicians and singers gave a lovely performance both before and while we ate a superb ample main course of roast turkey, a wide range of vegetables, stuffing, yorkshire pudding served with a range of sauces, and a desert. It was all cooked perfectly, and served warm. The quality of the meal was the best I have tasted in the many years I have lived in Swansea, as was the perfectly balanced Prosecco, neither too sweet nor acid with perfect satisfying after taste. The seating, atmosphere and lighting gave a perfect ambiance to facilitate me to talking for hours to those seated close to me who I had never met before. All parts of the building were clean and tidy. There are superb views of the total sweep of Swansea Bay from much of the seating due the large glass windows and wall on its south side, which during the day makes the interior full of light. The staff and owners showed great, genuine, and ongoing interest in their guests, our personal circumstances and ensuring we felt everything about our evening was perfect and enjoyable. They offered me and I accepted a lift home afterwards because the buses were near to finishing for the evening. Some of their young children helped serve and clear the dishes, which made the evening more enjoyable especially with their perfect manners and attention to detail. There is a carpark adjacent to the building. The location adjacent to the hard surfaced walk way that is contiguous around the whole sweep of the bay make the bar ideal for walkers who just want to stop briefly for an non-alcoholic or alcoholic beverage. The flat surfaces are ideal for those in a wheel-chair of little electric scooter.

stumbled across this place whilst walking along the beach, felt welcome like we were one of the locals. Plenty of choice on the menu, light lunches offer a decent portion size and the peach ice tea is amazing 😋 both had baguettes in lovely bread too. DOG FRIENDLY WHICH IS ALWAYS A PLUS WHEN YOU’RE LOOKING TO GET OUT THE RAIN ☔️

The business may be booming but they treat their young staff unfairly and it is downright disgusting. My son worked here for a long time, they have all youngsters on minimum wage, zero hour contracts, and cancel shifts with no notice. Send them home early if they are quiet without pay. Sometimes, this equates to cutting a 4 hour shift in half, having travelled and set time aside to work for 2 hours. I urge them to consider new zero hour legislation coming into force -The government is introducing measures to tackle one-sided flexibility in zero-hours contracts through a right to guaranteed hours with a contract that reflects the number of hours regularly worked, and a right to reasonable notice of shifts with payment for shifts cancelled or curtailed at short notice. 21 Oct 2024 And I urge customers to boycott this restaurant until young people are treated with the respect they deserve for working hard!

Great place to go for a coffee/ and or a meal. Nice atmosphere & great view!

My third visit and today we were between storms. The tide crept in, leaving a sliver of golden sand exposed. The Wind? For today, The Wind had decided to remain at home, a stillness held the air taught. We sat. Sunlight now streaming in over the now dormant and shamefully neglected, Port Talbot steel works, which sat grumpily in the far distance across Swansea Bay. Coffee flowed. Delicious Flat Whites. Then came the food, a flying mixture of French Toast, Eggs Benedict, and my colourful Welsh Breakfast. All delicious. The service a delight, as always. We stayed and chatted, loving the view and the atmosphere. But there, on the opposite side of Swansea Bay, sits a reminder of what once built South Wales and I see nothing coming soon to light the fire of hope, that once fed those blast furnaces. So for now we can chat, drink lovely coffee, eat delicious food, and look on as "our" country slowly festers.

Good variety food a feeling like you are on holiday x

It was a Friday evening, so Staff were very busy. Food was excellent...Table for 5 ordered Calamari, spicey linguine and beef and chicken burgers with fries. Food was hot, fresh and tasty. Staff very attentive. The only negatives were paying for parking £4 for 2 hours (should be free if dining in restaurant) and the slaw which was basically just shredded red cabbage. I would recommend and I will visit again

Very tasty food but long wait, and one of the guests meals was given to the wrong table and he had to wait an hour for his meal. They did refund the meal though. Also so busy at breakfast they said we had to come back at lunch

El personal me pareció muy grosero y cuando pedí hablar con el gerente, ella también fue grosera. La comida era demasiado cara para lo que tenemos. El personal se estaba peleando entre ellos, lo que no entendí. No volveré a visitar este restaurante de nuevo tristemente no vale la pena el dinero y el tiempo.

Did the Swansea bay park run and called in for coffee and cake was full inside so sat out nice cakes breakfasts looks really good

Great views, good service but a little slow at times probably due to how popular the place is and therefore how busy. Very tasty Sunday roast with a great selection of veggies too go with it. Be ware, the carpark can get very busy, bookings advised on the weekend.

We visited today as the weather was lovely for sitting outside and we like the location. We have been many times but we hadn't been in over a year since a very disappointing meal and service. Today we had the Sunday Roast, I had the Nut roast which was the best roast dinner I have ever had. A huge portion with so much variety and the quality was excellent, worth every penny. We got chatting to the waiter who said the Sunday Roasts are very popular, and I can see why. It was delicious and friendly service.

Lovely restaurant bar on the sea front. The staff wanted the table back and moved us outside (it wasn't very warm) but it was disappointing to plenty of empty tables inside.

Had a lovely lunch there today with our grandchildren. Had a little accident of a spilled drink over my food but it was changed straight away with no fuss . .Lovely polite staff. Thank you ❤️

Descendió enormemente colina abajo desde la última vez que estuve aquí. Huevos que Benedicto XVI sirvió en un platillo con dos pequeños trozos de tocino. El café también se sirve en tazas más pequeñas, así que todo lo que puedo pensar es que están reduciendo costos y aumentando las ganancias. Decepcionado ya que este era el lugar para un buen desayuno en Swansea.

Been to the secret many times always had a nice experience,Good service food is average but nice.Tried the fish and chips this time cause iv had all the other items,and the pea puree was just horrible no flavour just bland,then the fish was smelling really fishy and no taste it was just bland too and then the salad was absolutely blasted with salt I thought I'd done it by mistake but my partner then asked me was mine salty cause hers was.I don't like to complain but it's put me off going bk there for a while.

What a shame the best ever eggs Benedict I’ve ever had has been spoilt by greed!!! Used to be a bun with two poached eggs, now HALF A BUN with one poached egg!!! Left me feeling still hungry and cheated. More expensive and half the portion. Not everyone is a tourist and remember previous meals. The waiter was a joy but the waitress was glum and rude.

Views are amazing while you eat or drink. Remember to pay for the parking.

Beautiful spot right on the beach with indoor and outdoor patio options. Patio is partially covered. Service was great, food was delicious and prompt. Great coffee too!!

Nice coffee, fish and chips great. Chicken burger great. Best thing though is the view and it’s dog friendly. Visited here loads over the last few years and haven’t had a disappointing experience yet. It’s nothing special, but it’s not too shabby either. Happy with the service too.

Very disappointed in the front of house service. I booked a table for 2pm today and at 2.50pm the gentleman at front of house told us he was giving us heads up of 10 mins to vacate the table. My husband had not even finished his drink. I told him I was not aware there was a time limit on the booking and we had only been sitting at the table for 50 mins. He explained they were busy but there was no queue? Plus I had booked the table 3 days in advance. The waiter was pleasant but front of house really need to work on their customer service skills. I will definitely not be back. Went elsewhere for desert and coffee. Will definitely be telling my family and friends about this experience.

We were a walk-in . Team were great food was great and when my wife knocked over her wine they replaced it foc. Lovely location on the beach , worth a visit. AP

Came here on 2 occasions recently and it was brilliant. The staff are really lovely helpful and polite. We have only had off the lunch time menu on the twice we visited. But both times the meals were lovely. Plenty of food on the plates - really tasty. The deserts look amazing but we were too full to have any. If you visit the orange crush is brilliant 👌🏼

This place is super cute. Right on the beach and has such a cool vibe. The food is great and we had some Wrexham lager and cocktails. Great place to watch the sea, go on the beach or just relax and listen to some music.

Terrible service - I went for long walk along the waterfront and came to this place at 8:55 AM whereupon the rain started - I was standing outside and a worker came out to set up some chairs - he said they did not open for another 5 minutes and told me to wait in the rain - I left for a more hospitable coffee and breakfast shop which I found with Sam's cafe in town of Swansea (see my review for Sam's Cafe).

Amazing food, our waiter was lovely, I think he was new but is a credit to this place. Views are outstanding as literally on the beach, unfortunately it was dull and raining today, but still a lovely location. Would definitely recommend, will be back.

Went here for the first time, it was a great experience, the staff were so welcoming and friendly, the food we had was excellent, even though my granddaughter wasn’t keen on the mac & cheese, she said it was tasteless and needed more flavour. We enjoyed our visit and will definitely go back .

You pay a premium for the location which on a nice day is totally worth it, maybe not so much in bad weather.

This has to have one of the most amazing views of any coffee shop I've been to lately. The staff are incredible friendly, sadly we only had time for coffee but will certainly be back for food as it look lovely. Certainly a place to go if you're ever in a need for a coffee with a view.

Had a really enjoyable family meal here with really friendly considerate staff, lovely location and scrumptious food. Big thanks to the manager who totally understood my son's sensory issues and who helped provide a solution. Luna my Labrador loved it too.

We visit Secret regulary, usually with our dog. It's a terrific venue, year round, and the welcome from all of the staff we've encountered is first class; friendly, attentive and eager to please. My wife has some complex dietary needs, including intolerance to gluten and dairy. But the chefs invarariably provide safe - but also very tasty - alternatives to the menu items. Oli and Angelo are excellent at front of house. And last week's waitress (Ffion) was particulary frienddly.

Great location. Good to average food. 3 panko breaded prawns for £9. Prawn linguine prawns overcooked and visually disappointing. Steak salad was nice but short on steak.

Lovely place for an evening meal. Great location, very friendly staff, good atmosphere and food. Came across it as it is near the stating point for parkrun that morning. Nice walk back to the marina area after the meal.

Only went in for drinks, but was surprised how nice it was and the Service was excellent and Elen was lovely and polite. Could definitely recommend it to anyone well done guys keep it up guys.

Charity event for children started there at 7.00, (bike ride) but it still didn't open till 9.00, no in sight to what was happening, we all would have loved a coffee before setting off on our 64 mile ride.
