Awa Grill House in Swansea

I used to work here and people always found hair in their food and Awa were/are very bad with their employees. Never felt comfortable working here or coming for food as a customer.

Possibly the best falafel I have ever eaten anywhere in the world, including in Israel and Palestine. Light, crispy, and delicious. Decor a little cheesy, but perhaps usual for a Turkish restaurant.

Delicious food and drinks, big portions. Recommend any of the grill mains, especially the lamb. Wish they served alcohol but understand there may be a cultural reason to not. Some staff were warm and friendly, others weren’t as friendly but it was getting late, maybe they were tired. Overall I really enjoyed.

- Food was bland - Waitresses were inattentive at best - When attempting to pay, the teller made me do the maths to work out how much I had to pay

Awful service.. We have ordered 2 platter, we had to wait for more than 1 hour for meal for 10 people. Table came after us got their food way before.

We celebrated our friends bday there on friday..it was such great fun..wonderful place..the service was great...the food was delicious...everyone working there was so friendly...!. We were all happily surprised when they played happy bday for our friend... thank you...

What a fab restaurant, food was amazing, big portions, the shish kebabs were amazing the lamb was so good but the chicken shish was amongst the best I have had. The fresh juices were softest and tasty. The restaurant was busy and the atmosphere was lovely and our waiter was fantastic. Brilliant will be back 👍

I believe they've got the best customer service. Even as a delivery driver, their manager always smiles and talks to me so beautifully. Their food is great as well.

Really accommodating, managed to seat 6 of us just walking in. Ordered a mixed platter between 6 of us, food was amazing, the potions were huge, I mean huge, and it was only a mere £15 a head. What's more the staff were really friendly. It was a great way to fisnsh the night. Highly recommend

Make sure you look at your bill, they are adding over the top services charges with out letting the customers know so check your bills. This should be optional to the customer and how much the customer wants to provide if they want to provide. Because I brought it up I got shouted at by one of the remembers of staff not to come back if I don't like it. I have been a loyal customer and now will not be going back. It's a small kebab shop not a 5* restaurant from London!

This place only care about the money, quality of meat is poor, full of fat, and overcooked. They pack you on a table of 4 when you are 3 adults and 4 children, no because they are full, just to have space for (in case) future customers.. 1 friendly but busy waiter for the entire place. And the bill is given to you with the total cost, no breakdown at all just in case you start doing math of the overpriced total.

I have dined here before but I swear it’s like they get better every time. Today I wanted to try out some of their juice from the juice bar. And a very polite Egyptian man made me what has to be the BEST juice I have ever had. I’m not exaggerating when I say that it had me singing with delight. No matter what I say I cannot describe how delicious it was. You really have to try it out yourself to get what I’m talking about. It was so delicious I just had to order another one. If I could I would give them 10 stars. I love this place and I’ll definitely be back for more!!!

I recently dined ordered the chicken shish, which unfortunately came with a hair in it. I promptly returned it and handed over my fork, expecting a quick resolution. However, I ended up waiting double the time for a replacement without any discounts offered. While the food was tasty once it arrived, the lengthy wait dampened the experience. It's also important to note that the cooks should wear hair nets for hygiene reasons to prevent this from happening again. I hope they can improve their service and hygiene standards in the future!

I visited Swansea for one day only I ordered spicy hummus with chicken swarma and one nan bread Taste was sso awesome And Sam served me , he is very friendly and good hearted person with a beautiful smile on his face I really enjoyed there will come again x

After waiting for over an hour my food never arrived, restaurant offered no help at all poor service, I will never order again.

Ordered a takeaway for delivery whilst working away and the food never arrived, contacted the restaurant and was told its been delivered and there is nothing they can do to help, 30 quid down and no food, not very helpful at all, dreadful customer service, I can safely say I will spend my money elsewhere.

I love the food in Awa usually, but the chips were expensive and cold, so very disappointed. Also, the time kept changing it took ages.

Food never arrived and resturant not helpful at all when i spoke to them.

They charged £2 for a can of coke on deliveroo whist showing a large bottle. What a rip.

AWA Grill house offers delicious food with great service. The menu has a wide variety of grilled options, all cooked to perfection. The portions are generous, and the prices are reasonable. A great spot for a satisfying meal!

My first visit to Swansea, a friend recommended this place to me. Really nice Lebanese cuisine, we had the sharing platter of rice, salad, naan and mixed grill for two. They certainly don't let you go hungry here! That was an incredibly generous portion and at an amazing price. The meat was really well-cooked and seasoned. I'd certainly recommend it.

Food was good, came quite quick but wasn’t pipping hot. The service was good the lady was nice with us the atmosphere was just normal as every restaurant. Would I come back again ? Yes !

The food was really bad , wasn’t well cooked and it wasn’t at all as showing in the picture. It had a bad taste and the meat was on the fries which make the fries really wet . I am not going to order from them again

My girlfriends and I had a fantastic meal after our spa day. Everything was just perfect. The service was A*friendly. The food was cooked fresh. So much flavour!! The restaurant has a lovely family atmosphere. Will definitely visit again. ☺️

I'm a big fan of Turkish/middle eastern meze style food. Back in Essex and surrounding London areas we have some seriously good restaurants in this cuisine. Locally, this is one of, if not the best. Starting with the main meals. The meat is decent enough and cooked with nice enough seasoning over hot coals as it should be. Rice & salad is fine. But it could be jazzed up, sometimes there large clumps of lettuce and red onion that should and could easily be given some more care. They serve mini nan breads with the food, which are better than you'd expect, and VERY cheap to add if you want more.. but a good upgrade would be if they did proper Turkish style Pida breads for each dish, removing the kebab with the bread for all the flavour, again just a preference. The fresh fruit juices here are excellent. And well priced.. Many great options to choose from Staff are friendly and attentive. Restaurant atmosphere is a bit mix and matched. I've been when there is large families with groups of children running around bare foot jumping on the furniture, and I've been when its pretty low key and quiet. Both are uninspiring. Cost to quality ratio is fine. Would recommend for Grilled meats and social catch ups with groups. Worth a visit if you haven't been.

Great food. We usually sit in, but I was returning from the train, so takeaway seemed good. The food is always tasty and hot.

Every possible area gets 5 stars. The whole staff was welcoming, attentive and personable. The food was off the charts. This is a must visit in Swansea!

Excellent place.family friendly. Food was good.. steak was perfect .. platter with the Kebabs was perfect... Halal and no alcohol served.... parking can be a issue. but will visit again, the waitress did a fantastic job.. always attentive.. Tea on the House was awesome.. but second time was charged 😞.. also service charge was added... Wasn't happy as my 3rd time coming back.. was my goto place in Swansea.. Wheelchair accessible Service is always good. Toilets clean.. well done

Absolute tastebud paradise! Awa knows how to make a shawarma. 100% would go back there again, but a little pricey since I ordered at uber eats which takes £1 more than normal price on the menu. But one of the staff told me do a phone call than online since its cheaper. A lifesaver my man is.

I don't know how they got high ratings. The food here is sooooo Salty !!!! I love Turkish food and been Turkey. This is worst grill house ever. Rice is not nice either 😕 😒 😐 Also be careful of food allergies I ordered mango juice they must put milk with it without list it my boy had reaction to dairy after drinking it. That's really bad.

Family didn’t really like it due to blandness, children is cooked well so overall just ok.

I'm a big fan of Shawarma. Ask anyone. You can say "Is Ganondorf Salad a fan of Shawarma?" and they'll say "Yes. A BIG one". They do a chicken shawarma wrap that is so tasty, I could keep on eating until I expired from overconsumption. There's a wide range of starters, and I've not had one I didn't enjoy yet. Fresh fruit juice and milkshakes for the kids if they're that way inclined. The service here is friendly, accomodating and quick enough. I would happily eat here every day if my body allowed it.

It was our first visit to Awa today and we weren't disappointed. It was one of the nicest meals we have had for a long time. The steaks were cooked to perfection, and just the way we asked for. Presentation of the food is wonderful. The gentleman who took our order provided superb customer service and was so polite whilst helping us with our order, recommending different things on the menu. We will definitely be returning to Awa.

Food is delicious and you can smell it cooking from across the street. The staff have great customer service and even offered roses out to couples on Valentine's Day!

Came back to eat after 10 years, amazing food as always neither the taste or service has changed. Absolutely incredible, always would recommend to try their platter. Khushi was helping with our order this type and she went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we need.

We were looking for halal food in Swansea city and after 30 minutes looking around then we found this resturant we entered and the waitress and manager gave us a very warm welcome . We ordered platter number 2 expecting only just enough for four people only realising ,when the food came , that there was plenty of food for at least 4 people. We got four drinks which were superb . Later we got free tea from the house . Management and staffs were very friendly and very polite. I forgot their name , it was one girl ( waitress ) who served tea free . We decided to go there again today .

The sharing meze is so good. The music is great - close your eyes and you could be on holiday. Very nice people. Ooo and the chicken shish is great. Fresh squeezed juices with garnishes are lovely too. The bread is fresh and hot. Take me back!!!!
