Nice dinner, tasty, good choice of vegetables with an average serving of meats but a choice of 3 and nicely cooked.

Food was lovely and really quick service

Food nice. Parking convenient. Service excellent. Place is comfortable & nicely decorated. Disappointed that we were told that they close at 9.30. It was an old staff reunion & time flew & came to very abruptly end!

Place was lovely inside. Waiters were polite and friendly. Food was average which was disappointing for the price bracket. My friend had a Stilton burger which for some unknown reason was spicy, when we complained we had the landlady/manager come over and basically call her a liar, refusing to take it off the bill or make another one as her “chef of 30 years” had left, the kitchen was closed and the chef had assured her nothing spicy was on the burger. After theatrics of making one of her staff eat the burger to prove it wasn’t spicy she then removed it off the bill. Very weird experience. They even kept up the act when we were leaving having the waitress say she was full….very bizarre. It’s a local pub so very disappointed and won’t be returning.

Sunday carvery. Food was brill.

Lovely fillet steak, decent lasagne, ok ribs, worst T-bone I've ever had, had to go back, opted for the steak pie as replacement and pastry was soggy, as if microwaved, starters OK, bog standard dessert menu, disappointed after so many good reviews. will probably try again as prev meal was good there,. evone has a bad night in the kitchen and the t-bone was just such poor quality I think gordon Ramsey would struggle to make it edible. Staff lovely, zero atmosphere as restaurant extension area emptied just after we sat down(8pm) so we were only ones there,not a lot you can do about that I spose.

Fabulous Sunday lunch well worth a visit

Always looking for a nice Carvery! Boy have we found it! Absolutely delicious carvery all home cooked and fresh, three meats and plenty of vegetables. Super friendly and helpful staff especially with our disabled friends. Recommended but book on a Sunday!! Parking available at the rear and side of the pub. Carvery was £14.95 each and desserts £5 We will definitely be back!!! Thank you 💕

Lovely decor nice food friendly staff

Just visited the The Glais Inn for the first time with friends for an early 60th birthday meal, had a fabulous time. The inn itself is very welcoming and comfortable, the staff were lovely, friendly, and chatty, the food was simply delicious. All four of us had something different and each plate was given high praise, we had mains and pudding. Will definitely return, and will be recommending you to all our friends. Great atmosphere and plenty of parking on site. Thank you to all involved for the lovely time we had with you.

After booking a meal for 11 people. Arrived to a fantastic welcome. Sat down to drinks being served straight away. Starters and main course turned up with more drinks. Deserted delivered. All drinks spot on and food 100 % right and tasted fantastic. I would recommend The Old Glais Inn anytime. Thank you staff for a lovely night

Piping hot food coming out of the kitchen, each dish was of a high standard. Not overly seasoned which was good to see. Very efficient service.

Had a Christmas carvery which was excellent service was very good considering how busy it was. Will certainly go back to try the normal menu.

Had an amazing carvery at the old glais today !! The beef was so succulent it melted in my mouth , and the roasties were divine . Cath the manager was so lovely and welcoming , we will definitely be back soon

Went with wife and two kids was a rude on arrival with seating was told could only order off basic lunch menu, so ok wife and daughter had cavery was bland watery gravey and veg tasted old, I had the curry, please don’t order this was awful, rice like bullets rubbery chicken with weird taste and chips half cooked I let them know I weren’t eating it and didn’t want anything else but they still tried charging until I said I ain’t paying for it won’t be going again, don’t look like they can cope with the place very disappointed

Visited with my elderly mum and daughter. We both had weely carvery and mum wanted a childs portion was told abruptly. Cant give childs portion to adult. And then goes and takes order for childs portion of svampi and chips for mum. Doent maje sense.

So happy my local in Glais has now reopened. Stunning renovation and the food and service was exceptional. We were sat in the extension and we were able to see our food being cooked which was wonderful. Thank you to all the chefs, staff and Cath. Definitely be back in a few weeks

Sunday lunch visit. We both had the roast beef and although it was a little overcooked for my pallet it was still moist and tasted good and a decent amount for a hungry man. Their was plenty of veg to please us both and an enormous cauliflower cheese that we couldn't finnish. The waitress was friendly and efficient and asked if everything was ok and did we want more gravy etc. The lunch was good value and we would be happy to return

Ordered food I had bbq chicken and chips I went too it and found a long hair they tried too tell me it was a piece of cheese but it was not it was a long hair but I have short. They didn't even apologise they asked if I want some thing else so I mash and parsley sauce and the ham was like eating fat I was heaving trying too eat it the mash was bland and I also ordered garlic bread which was cold first and last I will visit it will not reccomend going there again

We stopped in for Sunday lunch and it was really tasty. You get a selection of different meats and the vegetables were well seasoned. It's particularly good for vegetarian options - my partner was given a lot of choice and a lot of thought had clearly gone into making sure there were good and varied options. The service is a bit slow but on the whole it's a good place to eat.

Lovely. Had lunchtime special. 2 meals for £15. Great. Definitely returning to try the main menu very soon. Decor modern. Staff so polite and nothing too much trouble.

First time for meal there, they had gammom egg and chips as a specia, huge portions all served hot with hand cut chips. Would recommend a meal there.

Just visited here with my wife for a spur of the moment meal and we were both delighted with the quality, presentation and service we received, large portions and super quality food reasonably priced.

Bar person needs a few lesson's in cocktail making & mixing. Food was good, did have an issue with ours, missing brisket. But all resolved. Clearing plates & glasses could have been a bit quicker . But overall, I'd recommend.

Food was pretty good, staff were excellent, things are obviously still a bit weird because of the pandemic. Didn't think much of the beer selection, who would decide Spanish lager a good thing?

Very good food, excellent service and a relaxed atmosphere. What more could you ask for.

First of all the young serving staff were very helpful but the older members of staff were very slow. We sat outside in a gazebo which was nice but could have done with some heaters. We had cocktails which were brilliant and absolutely delicious. One member of our party ordered the tapas which were ok but they came out as starters so they were left staring at us when we had our mains. The mains were great, nothing to complain about there. Lovely chips and plenty of food but very overpriced when you could go to the globe down the road and have a lasagne for half the price but still as delicious. We will probably come back but it is nothing to rave about.

Really nice meal, four of us had different choices and all beautiful! Will definitely be returning soon.

Nice local bar restaurant plenty of parking spaces available easy wheelchair access. A good selection of food on the menu not expensive meals are home cooked and large portions. The lunch menu specials are very cheap at £5 each enjoyed

A family birthday Sunday lunch out was shamefully poor. we paid for tin carrots tin peas frozen roast potatoes and more tin food; boiled potatoes which are seasonal for goodness sake! and the meat was just awful as Well! Everything was topped off with extra salt yuk. Most of the food went uneaten, we paid and left, to stunned at what was served to complain. Never again!!One star was for the drinks.

So it's very old and dated... But the welcome is always warm and friendly and the service is always great. The food. Is excellent pub grub. They have a 2 meals for £10 offer on that's amazing value for money as the portions on the offer are plenty. In fact we had less chips on our meals off the main menu than we did on the 2 for 10 meals and we felt a bit cheated that day. But we will keep returning as it's such a lovely little place

Nice welcoming pub. Called in on an evening week day and enjoyed the 2 for £10 menu. Great food with lovely home made chips and good size portions.
