Tres de nosotros llamamos hoy para el almuerzo del domingo. Nos sentamos en nuestra mesa rápidamente por lo que parecía el propietario / gerente. Un joven sirvió nuestras bebidas y estableció que estábamos allí para el carvery. Esperamos unos minutos mientras mi nieto ordenaba el asado de nueces. Y luego visitamos el carvery. Se ofrece una selección de tres carnes de res, pavo y cerdo. Decidí probar los tres mientras mi marido iba por el cerdo. Todas las carnes eran sabrosas y tiernas. En cuanto a las verduras algunas estaban bastante frías y es por esto que solo hay 4 estrellas y no 5. El queso de coliflor estaba frío como piedra y el puré sueco apenas tibio. La salsa estaba sabrosa, pero el nieto se quejó de que no tenía suficiente salsa vegetariana (estoy seguro de que podría haber pedido más). Tengo que mencionar el crepitar del cerdo que estaba delicioso. Voy a pedir otra pieza la próxima vez. Y sí habrá una próxima vez.

Lovely meal plenty of tasty food. Staff very attentive without being overly keen, good value for money. Will return!

Love this place! The staff are all lovely, the food is the best we've had in a long time. The chef and his team clearly love what they do, and it shows in the quality of the food. The place is immaculate and it's such a lovely atmosphere. We'll keep coming back again and again!

We were 11 plus 2 children and our bill came to £344.60, there were a few things that weren't up to scratch, the children's chicken goujon 's were over cooked, my husband pre ordered catch of the day which turned out to be Salmon which I'm pretty sure wouldn't be caught fresh the 1st week of February. Disappointed with that as my husband doesn't like Salmon we ended up swapping. My daughters battered cod was very dry, also over cooked. The rest was OK.

You can see the staff take their jobs seriously here and the chef has every right to boast about it. In a word: Superb!

Our first visit, really impressed with carvery, good selection of vegetables, all beautifully cooked, meat tender and tasty. Our friends had been several times and stated how much this venue had improved, especially over past 18 months. Don't often have dessert but we did on this occasion, my Husband was blown away by the crumble and custard, stated just like I make at home. We will be back.

Great food, the management have transformed the whole premises and a wonderful place to spend an hour or too

Arranged a surprise 70th birthday celebration for my wife with the help of Dave the owner Nothing was too much trouble for them and everything went off without a hitch. The food was excellent all served hot and together with all 23 people ordering different meals which were arranged in advance. A good choice from the menu. The staff were all very friendly and helpful and helped the the gathering go well Thanks Dave and your staff 10/10

I can’t praise this little gem enough. After a last minute phone call hoping for a table, a lovely woman booked us straight in for a carvery today. Even arriving early the woman at the bar was super sweet and helpful, having the table prepared for us. Our waiter was also lovely, got us straight in for the carvery and to my surprise, even the chefs were just the nicest guys!! The food was top notch, super fresh, super tasty. I’ve never been here before but can’t wait to return, thanks guys x

Had a Roast Dinner tonight with my family absolutely gorgeous meal we enjoyed it .The staff are very helpful and always back and forth checking that we were OK thank you and keep up the excellent work .

Still my favourite place for food. David and his staff are so attentive, even with a huge group booked in for Christmas lunch. she atmosphere is amazing and the food is second to none! The only downside is that it isn't my local! (Is that a downside though, as I would be like a barrel and bankrupt through eating there so often???) We had the Christmas menu today but I love their new menu too.

This is a lovely pub which was spotlessly clean and the food excellent. They are very adaptable at catering for dietary requirements and provided me with delicious gluten and dairy-free food. We went at a lunchtime on a cool day and it didn't feel very cosy.

My friend & I had the lunch special you can have 2 or 3 courses. The food was superb generous portions quality produce delicious fantastic value for the price we paid. The service was efficient staff friendly & couldn’t do enough for you the restaurant was spotless clean it was our first time visiting the pub & certainly will not be the last we shall be definitely returning actually next week intact for my birthday well worth visiting for a fabulous lunch & a lovely afternoon out together.

First time trying the Sunday dinner here and won't be out last! Seen really positive reviews on here and trip advisor so gave it a try and the food is beautiful! Very well run and such a lovely pub vibe there too! Will be returning for sure!!

We have been here three times since David has taken over and every time the food has been spot on , we have tried various dishes and the three meals for £18 on a Saturday is incredible value and a firm favorite with my wife and kids , I can highly recommend you take a visit to this little gem .

What an amazing birthday meal for 16 ppl this evening, from making the booking, preordering, arriving and eating. Super friendly staff, amazing service and outstanding meals. All dishes arrived within minutes of each other with no issues. Will definitely come again well done 👏

Went to the Old Glais for lunch with friends. All chose different starters and we agreed every one of them was outstanding. Similarly, the mains were some of the best meals we have ever had as a pub lunch, top restaurant quality. Excellent service and amazing value for money.

We had a lunchtime meal at the Glais Inn yesterday, thoroughly enjoyed, the food was delicious and very well presented, great service, we will be going back.

Had my husbands 60th birthday meal here on Saturday there were 21 of us and service was great meals were amazing compliments to the chef thank you Sian&team .

Visited the Old Glais Inn for lunch. From start to finish it was absolutely fantastic. A lovely, comfortable, and welcoming restaurant. All the staff were attentive, very friendly, and helpful. Our food was very delicious, we had mushrooms & duck liver pate as starters, we then had the chicken stuffed with brie and chirizo along with sweet potato fries. Both dishes were freshly cooked, and very tasty. We had a fabulous meal, for a very good price. Will definitely return.

Has had a massive revamp since the new owners took over, visited for Sunday carvery, was plenty of meat given and a good selection of veg, my only personal negative was the lack of mashed potato but instead boiled ones but that's just me. Staff were very helpful and the ser ice was spot on. the dinner had plenty of flavour meats were lovely and all the veg I tried. the bar area has been opened for access into the lounge and the carpark has been extended.

No food on this occasion, just a drink after our walk. Very nice pint of Abbot ale.

Closest thing to home cooking. Stunning delicious food, couldn't fault anything. So much variety, beautifully cooked. Staff really friendly and helpful, great environment.

Visited here with friends for a meal, the service was lovely & waiters very friendly. Many of us had the brie for starters which we really enjoyed and some had nachos which they also said were great. For main I had the capper cod, which did not have much flavour to it. Others had lasagna which they said was tasty.

The 1,2 or 3 course menu has a variety of options on the menu and the portions, the food are excellent value for money. There is a welcoming atmosphere with friendly helpful staff. Though could not sit out there today there was a lovely size beer garden, would highly recommend visiting will certainly be going there again.

Visited the Old Glais Inn tonight for an early dinner. From start to finish it was an absolute delight. A lovely, comfortable, welcoming restaurant. All staff were attentive, very friendly, and helpful. Our food was simply delicious, we had garlic mushrooms & duck liver pate as starters, we then had the chicken stuffed with brie and chirizo & hunters chicken along with the best sweet potato fries. Both courses were freshly cooked, and as already said delicious. Only one very small disappointment was I couldn't have the chefs welsh starter as it was unavailable, however I know I will definitely return and shall order it then, however what we had more than made up for it. Overall a fabulous meal, very good price, made all the better by the attentive staff. Will definately be returning, thank you all so much. Mags

We visited last Saturday with friends and I must say, we all had a great experience! The staff were really pleasant and our meals were outstanding. I must mention the chips, which were homemade and gorgeous! It’s a lovely venue to have a meal and/or drinks. There’s also a very nice beer garden outside. We’ll definitely be returning!

Delicious food, starter: (fried prawns and mushrooms in cream sauce) and main course: chicken and steak. Excellent, nice service and we could look into the kitchen, very hygienic!

Haven’t been to the Old Glais for a few years, heard new management so thought we’d pay a visit. Warm welcome from front of house and seated promptly in a comfortable and well presented dining area. Attentive knowledgeable staff took drinks and food order. Food was exceptional- all home made and cooked fresh. Will definitely be back - one to recommend highly.

Booked a Meal for Family of 5, Very welcoming staff and a Beautiful Restaurant We had Starters Whitebait and Breaded Mushrooms which came well presented with a lovely side salad For Mains I had 20oz Steak which was cooked to perfection and the chips were also amazing My son had the smaller steak and as he doesn't like chips we requested mixed Vegetables which again was amazing, Others had Scampi and our daughter had chicken nuggets We all left saying how nice the meal was and I'd say the Best steak I've had in years, This will be a regular place to visit for us within 15 minutes to where we live Well Done to All the Staff can't wait to call again

Went as a couple and had whitebait and pare starters, both lovely. Salmon and chicken burger mains. Slight error with the burger but sorted quickly and food tasted good. Not sure if our young server was new to the job but had several queries about what we ordered so confidence in what we would get was questionable. Food was great.

Its been taken over by new management an cooks an i tell you somthing they going to see the numbers dropping. Ive come away from there feeling sick. The meat they cut as thin as wafer ham the gravy is like water no mash potatoe so my son couldnt have nothing to eat as all he likes is bit of turkey an mash. An top it off took ages to call our table up and when they did we was behind a woman taking boxes an boxes of the food for take aways so left us all the dregs! They take forever bringing drinks out not prepared there at all. Well definatly lost our custom

Lovely place. Staff were very welcoming, and so helpful. Went for a carvery lunch with friends, and the food was delicious! So many carveries get it wrong, with the meat left under the heaters and so dry, but not at The Old Glais! Meat was so tender, excellent choice of vegetables, absolutely perfect. I would be glad to visit again, and I thoroughly recommend a visit if you're nearby, too!

Nice dinner, tasty, good choice of vegetables with an average serving of meats but a choice of 3 and nicely cooked.

Food nice. Parking convenient. Service excellent. Place is comfortable & nicely decorated. Disappointed that we were told that they close at 9.30. It was an old staff reunion & time flew & came to very abruptly end!

Place was lovely inside. Waiters were polite and friendly. Food was average which was disappointing for the price bracket. My friend had a Stilton burger which for some unknown reason was spicy, when we complained we had the landlady/manager come over and basically call her a liar, refusing to take it off the bill or make another one as her “chef of 30 years” had left, the kitchen was closed and the chef had assured her nothing spicy was on the burger. After theatrics of making one of her staff eat the burger to prove it wasn’t spicy she then removed it off the bill. Very weird experience. They even kept up the act when we were leaving having the waitress say she was full….very bizarre. It’s a local pub so very disappointed and won’t be returning.

Lovely fillet steak, decent lasagne, ok ribs, worst T-bone I've ever had, had to go back, opted for the steak pie as replacement and pastry was soggy, as if microwaved, starters OK, bog standard dessert menu, disappointed after so many good reviews. will probably try again as prev meal was good there,. evone has a bad night in the kitchen and the t-bone was just such poor quality I think gordon Ramsey would struggle to make it edible. Staff lovely, zero atmosphere as restaurant extension area emptied just after we sat down(8pm) so we were only ones there,not a lot you can do about that I spose.

Always looking for a nice Carvery! Boy have we found it! Absolutely delicious carvery all home cooked and fresh, three meats and plenty of vegetables. Super friendly and helpful staff especially with our disabled friends. Recommended but book on a Sunday!! Parking available at the rear and side of the pub. Carvery was £14.95 each and desserts £5 We will definitely be back!!! Thank you 💕

Just visited the The Glais Inn for the first time with friends for an early 60th birthday meal, had a fabulous time. The inn itself is very welcoming and comfortable, the staff were lovely, friendly, and chatty, the food was simply delicious. All four of us had something different and each plate was given high praise, we had mains and pudding. Will definitely return, and will be recommending you to all our friends. Great atmosphere and plenty of parking on site. Thank you to all involved for the lovely time we had with you.

After booking a meal for 11 people. Arrived to a fantastic welcome. Sat down to drinks being served straight away. Starters and main course turned up with more drinks. Deserted delivered. Piping hot food coming out of the kitchen, each dish was of a high standard. Not overly seasoned which was good to see. Very efficient service.

Had a Christmas carvery which was excellent service was very good considering how busy it was. Will certainly go back to try the normal menu.

Had an amazing carvery at the old glais today !! The beef was so succulent it melted in my mouth , and the roasties were divine . Cath the manager was so lovely and welcoming , we will definitely be back soon

Went with wife and two kids was a rude on arrival with seating was told could only order off basic lunch menu, so ok wife and daughter had cavery was bland watery gravey and veg tasted old, I had the curry, please don’t order this was awful, rice like bullets rubbery chicken with weird taste and chips half cooked I let them know I weren’t eating it and didn’t want anything else but they still tried charging until I said I ain’t paying for it won’t be going again, don’t look like they can cope with the place very disappointed

Visited with my elderly mum and daughter. We both had weely carvery and mum wanted a childs portion was told abruptly. Cant give childs portion to adult. And then goes and takes order for childs portion of svampi and chips for mum. Doent maje sense.

So happy my local in Glais has now reopened. Stunning renovation and the food and service was exceptional. We were sat in the extension and we were able to see our food being cooked which was wonderful. Thank you to all the chefs, staff and Cath. Definitely be back in a few weeks

Sunday lunch visit. We both had the roast beef and although it was a little overcooked for my pallet it was still moist and tasted good and a decent amount for a hungry man. Their was plenty of veg to please us both and an enormous cauliflower cheese that we couldn't finnish. The waitress was friendly and efficient and asked if everything was ok and did we want more gravy etc. The lunch was good value and we would be happy to return
