Cute little cafe, very conveniently located. There is an interesting history to it as it is located within an old tram station. There is plenty of sitting both inside and outside. The view is great. We have enjoyed having our picnic lunch here with hot drinks from the cafe. Reasonably praised with a good selection of hot and cold drinks as well as cakes. It is a great pit stop to take a break on your walk around Scarborough.

So glad to have found this cafe! Right on the edge of South Bay, this little gem serves a range of hot and cold drinks with freshly-baked cakes, croissants, and other goodies. Beautiful views with indoor and terrace seating available. Try the white hot chocolate, it's amazing! Possibly the best cafe in Scarborough.

We've been meaning to call in here over the years and this holiday we did, it's a delightful little cafe that's been converted from the old funicular railway, we were warmly greeted by the hostess who makes all the cakes on sale, we had tea, white hot chocolate and the homemade flapjack, due to the windy weather we couldn't go on to the terrace, so we sat downstairs. The next time we are in Scarborough we will be sure to call in again

A little treasure of a place located under the spa footbridge over the valley overlooking the South bay.The coffee is a superb blend with full flavour (so many places the coffee tastes like burnt acorns)Treats of homemade scones, flapjack are always fresh and tasty. The little rooftop is a perfect location to enjoy the views of the South bay. An amazing entrap!Hospitality is genuine and a real pleasure to be served.

An unusually cafe which is actually the bottom section of the old cliff lift in scarborough. The cafe is outside, however is covered but open to the elements. They sell a range of cakes and Sandwiches which are all hand made. Coffee is excellent and service is with a smile. There is also a second floor which provides excellent views over south bay. Well worth a visit

Walking past we decided to have a quick drink as this place looked too cute to walk by. Lovely inside and nice balcony to sit out in the sun with a view. You can see the old trams that used to run there above the balcony and there were also magazines and things if you wanted a read. Friendly and cute, would recommend and the soup smelt lovely even though we didn’t try any.

With a beautiful roof top space and delicious home made cakes, this visit was an absolute pleasure. Blankets were provided for outside. There was indoor space to sit downstairs too. I had apple and cinnamon cake, and there was a choice of soya or oat milk for non dairy options. There was nice little quotes on the walls and a booklet for people to write a poem, if they wished, tucked away in a corner. The lady that served me was lovely and the whole place was delightful.

We visited whilst other members of our family were on a boat cruise. We looked round some cafés but many along the shorefront were busy. I had noticed, earlier, the funicular railway whilst driving in. It seemed odd that both cars were positioned at the top and so I went to investigate and came across, to our delight, this quiet coffee shop. The young lady serving was very polite and very we enjoyed a good conversation - something that many servers nowadays struggle with. It was nice to be served by someone who conversed with such ease. We ordered our drinks and sat up on the terrace to both have a view of the sea and the old cars positioned at the top. It was relaxing and very enjoyable. I made sure to pick up a loyalty card as I will make sure I return!

One of the most environmentally friendly cafes in the local area, Seastrand has become an absolute favourite of ours. Friendly, welcoming and always willing to go the extra mile, Seastrand serves the best coffees and the hot chocolates is the best I have ever had. Also a great spot for an ice cream on a sunny day on the roof terrace with great views over Scarborough's South Bay beach. I can highly recommend it!

Stumbled across this lovely little place by accident - we usually go to Greensmith & Thackwray but it was closed as it was sunday. Just had a couple of lattes which we took up onto the terrace, with the disused tram/lifts looming above us! Lots of vintage headscarf 'flags' flying in the breeze and a fab view over the beach and Spa.Coffees were superb and the ice cream menu looked good too - shame we'd already had one elsewhere as the selection sounded so much better. You can tell this is a family business run with care and love.

A wet and windy day, coffee was needed and found this lovely, shabby chic style coffee shop!! The coffee was smooth, rich & delicious. The service was outstanding, and (I believe she was!!) the owner was one of the nicest, friendliest people I have ever met. She chatted away with my 7 yr old daughter whilst preparing our order, told us there was plenty of books, magazines and newspapers to browse. She made my daughters day when she asked if my daughter would be able to give a home (and some cuddles) to a small soft toy rabbit that had been left there the previous year, and was obviously not going to be claimed. My daughter collects toy rabbits!! The Sea Strand is a 'must visit' place. I will definitely be going back. A well deserved 5 stars from me!!!

This coffee shop was recommended to us, by a local, whilst walking along the beach with our dog. The friendly service was extremely welcoming and set the tone for a lovely relaxed experience. The setting provided comfort and great scenery of the picturesque Scarborough seafront. The coffee in the latte was not overpowered by the milk and was a lovely roast. The locally made iced Bakewell was delicious. Our dog was also welcomed on the terrace which meant we could relax and not hurry our break. Thank you we will definitely visit again.

This cafe only opened this year but is well worth a visit during a day in Scarborough. It is based in the converted lower hall of one of the now-defunct famous Scarborough cliff lifts and takes its form and inspiration from its location. the owners describe it as being in a borrowed space and many of the features of the cafe continue this theme with old fridges used to house milk, sugar and a magazine rack and a light fitting make of recycled plastic bottles. Quirky.....? yes, but the coffee is also great. And next time, I must definitely try one of their ice-cream creations. Please support this new local business run by a lovely family.
