A few days into our IoW holiday we booked The Seapot specifically for a lunchtime seafood sampling for four. We were not disappointed. Although quite busy our booking reserved us comfortable seating in one of the three beach huts with magnificent sea views and once ordered at the service hatch our food and drink was quickly delivered by the friendly staff. We anticipated having mussels on the table but having seen the seafood platters pass by with great chunks of crusty bread, dish of prawns, pots of crab and salmon pate, mixed salad and more every member of the party ordered that and thoroughly enjoyed every morsel. All agreed that not only a great start to our holiday but we must return and do it again before we leave. But will we see the mussels? I’m not sure, the Seafood Platter is so memorable!

We love to discover quaint little hidden places with delicious food and magnificent views, so I am glad to say that The Seapot ticks all the boxes. Granted, my old knees got quite a lot of work out down the fairly steep stairs on the way from the parking lot to the beach, but it was all worth it. We were lucky to get a small booth, which sheltered us from the breeze and sun. The service was pleasant, the wine, cool and crisp, and the food absolutely delicious and beautifully presented - very pleasing to the eye. Highly recommend stopping by.

Everything about the Seapot is spot on. The little beach huts are adorable - super cosy and with superb views. They're pretty handy when the weather is a bit unpredictable too! Nice food but terrible service. I hope it’s not racist. My son saw a ‘young adult’ at the order counter and was about to place order, then the young man just went away. My son stood there for more than five minutes and no one turned up. It ended up I had to ask another lady when we could place order. We asked for an umbrella and was said to check the availability. It turned out that after at least 20 minutes I got to restate my request and the lady finally fetched me a broken umbrella which could not be fixed in the stand. It was made leaned against the wall. Finger crossed, the umbrella did not drop because it was only sunny but not windy. We asked for a jug of water. They did serve us one but then later on I noticed that other customers got a jug of water with two slices of lemon, but ours got nothing inside. I even observed them greeting other customers, asking how their day was, acting very politely using words like ‘please’, ‘lovely’ and ‘thank you’. And we received a very opposite attitude of service. Local British are warmly welcomed. If you are not, I sincerely hope that my experience will prepare you for the worst. Lucky that we enjoyed a real beach in Ryde later that evening.

The staff were lovely and incredibly flexible about our annoying food allergies. You'll rarely find somewhere that is willing to alter a platter to meet your needs like at The Seapot, rather than just taking stuff away and charging you the same price. On the platter, it was absolutely delicious and incredibly good value. It was also a real treat to drink cider from just up the road in such idyllic surroundings. You must make The Seapot part of your walk from Ventnor to Bonchurch, it is very special. Despite the Ventnor end of the path currently being repaired, it is very straightforward to access it via the stairs which run directly behind this restaurant.

On our last day of a short break in the Isle of Wight my boyfriend and I fancied some fresh mussels before we went home. I Googled the best place to go for this and was recommended The Seapot. This super little waterfront cafe is about as good as it can get. Easily accessible in a great setting, it offers a good range of drinks and food at sensible prices for the area and competition. It is what it is...a rustic outdoor seaside cafe. But the staff are friendly and good humoured and the quality of the food and portion sizes are excellent. The Crab salad is delicious and the Victoria sponge arguably the best I have tasted and made with a passion by the owners. Real strawberries - not just jam in the middle. If only this place was open for breakfast or afternoon tea...I think that would have tipped my vote to a 5. But if they can earn a living in 4hrs a day then good luck to them...I wish I could. Looking forward to going back - note to self closed on Tuesdays! No indoor seating so don't be disappointed if they are closed on bad weather days.

We always stop by at The Seapot when in Ventnor, sometimes for food, sometimes for liquid refreshment. There can’t be many better places with such a view, even on an autumnal October day. There was a path down to the sea front at the top end of the car park, down a series of stairs.I had the seaman's platter, my wife had a ploughman's. The food was plentiful, tasty and well presented. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal sitting on the top deck overlooking the sea. All of the tables are outside, so if you enjoy alfresco dining it's perfect. There is no passing traffic, so the only sound was the waves crashing on the sea wall and the conversation. There was a good selection of drinks, I had a strawberry milkshake which was scrumptious, including a big dollop of ice cream, real strawberries and a chocolate flake, very decadent indeed.I recommend visiting, we will definitely be going back next time we are on the island.

We had read the fantastic reviews for Seapot and were really excited to go, ordering was simple and the young girl was pleasant and helpful, we took our seats in one of the lovely hut themed booths but were saddened to see a lot of furniture haphazardly left in another booth, this made us feel like we were sitting in a broom cupboard. Our food when it finally arrived was set out beautifully and was very tasty, no problems there. My partner and I both used the toilet facilities attached to the cafe, and were spectacularly disappointed, more furniture badly deposited, once again it didn't feel like a welcoming space. In addition to this the toilet nor the sink looked like they had been cleaned for some time which can only make us wonder about the state of the cleanliness in the kitchen. Finally, the children's high chair stashed away in the loo is about as unsanitary as it gets.Such a shame for a lovely little cafe with great food.

We’ve been coming on holiday to the Isle of Wight for 10 years and we’ve only just discovered this little gem. Me and my family are staying in Shanklin and did the coastal walk from Shanklin to Ventnor. We stopped off at The Seapot and we were not disappointed! I’m vegan so I was pleasantly surprised by the vegan options on the menu as it’s often hard for me to find good options. I got the vegan board which was delicious (see photo). It had houmous, toasted pittas, sundried tomatoes, gherkins, pickled onions, capers, olives, stuffed vine leaves, aubergine, courgette, artichokes, peppers, garlic cloves and salad. It was a great size and absolutely delicious. The other members of my family had the seafood version and a prawn baguette and all of their meals were delicious too. For dessert it was great to see a few vegan options of the menu, and none were fruit salad or sorbet which is usually what is offered if there’s a vegan dessert option. There was a vegan apricot bakewell tart and a blackberry crumble, I had the crumble along with a tub of vegan banana and honeycomb ice cream (see photo), and my partner had the bakewell tart. They were both really tasty! The service was a little slow as it’s only a small place and I think they were a staff member down when we were there, but it was absolutely worth the wait. The woman who owns it is really lovely, and they are also dog friendly - they brought us water and dog biscuits for our dogs which was really kind. The location is also perfect, we had lovely views of the sea. We will definitely be back again next year!

Would definitely recommend and we will certainly be back.

A friendly little walkers' stop along the coastal path from Ventnor to Bonchurch. To sit a watch the sea break onto the rocks below while sipping a cappuccino or slurping on some wonderful tasty hot and spicy chicken soup and feeling the sun on your face on an otherwise cold November afternoon is to know what life is really all about. Its just really simple!

This ex is the best tea shop me and my wife have ever visited. Good fresh food, good portions at a reasonable prices. The outlook over Wheelers Bay is lovely.

We can never not stop off here for our mid morning break whenever we are over at the island. The homemade cakes and this time a friend with us tried the bread pudding which apparently is the best he has ever had so moist. The service is always top notch and over the years become well known clients.

It is an incredible cafe in Isle of Wight. This is the more famous cafe with a good indoor ambience, friendly staff and an incredible soft spongy soft icing carrot cake. They roast their own beans which are from the Isle of Wight. I found this experience to be very good and suggest any one to visit it. Best place to walk to it is from the hope long stay car park. The walk is 3 minutes from this car park.

Lovely cosy and friendly place. Amazing poached eggs and a good size omlette for hubby. Good pot of tea for two & decent coffee. Staff are attentive, offering alternatives. Also noticed popular with the workmen & their breakfast takeaways. Well worth the visit

Had wandered around this shop many times but this time was with my Nephew and on seeing what he wanted he decided to purchase a hat. Very helpful owners and lots to choose from for anything like shoes to clothing & hats and hot drinks of the thermal flasks and mugs from the brand Yeti. It has a cafe in the shop and has a seating area outside. We will be trying their breakfast soon as i have heard it's delicious from a friend.

We were recommended to go and one of the best we've had. Everything was perfect. If you're in Sandown and don't go there you've missed a treat!
