The Seagull in Weymouth and Portland

Went for the last night of the season for Halloween. Food buffet was awesome. There was a Halloween party, but didn’t stay for that which was a shame. Place is really good.

As a free entertainment venue it's great but don't rely on it for food. Takes forever to arrive, barely warm and often bits missing

Went for the country music festival and kept going back. Good food and service, dog friendly in the conservatory. Other music festivals are available!

Always busy ,plenty of entertainment

Went for a country and western weekend yet NO LINE DANCING allowed after 6pm and if you do the security tells you to stop.

Have been quite a few times during cowboy week, the place was decorated out fantastic the bands and other artists where great, I must pay special tribute to the bar staff who were run of their feet but did such a great job. We only ate there once Pizza, fresh, large with loads of topping very good, looking at other tables all the meals looked very appetizing, will eat there again next time in Brean.

It's okay, food is on the more expensive side but was rather nice! Always ask for medium rare as I know the steak comes out rare 😅 and that's what I want! Staff are friendly and quick service :)

On holiday googled nearby places and this place popped up. Looked at menu and dropped in.really glad we did ..Sharing platter was awesome . We had chicken tower meal and was lovely. Friendly staff.. Really enjoyed my food .

I would like to thank Alex and all the staff for making Saturday evening a brilliant night. We will definitely be there next year.

Great night on country and western weekend but whos CRAZY IDEA was it to take up the space of about 8 xtra tables to put 2 pool tables in an area thats ADULTS ONLY. no common sense whatsoever.

Just a bad place, it's nothing compared to how it was! Staff were friendly but even collecting food that's been left there for 5 minutes on the side is quite strange! I'm not sure I'd go back!

Keith Slater is extremely good. Thoroughly enjoyed it. DJ played really good dance music. Sorry wasn't fussed oh Herman's Hermits. All said and done . Enjoyed the night

Popped in for a drink as they had a singer on . Not sure who he was but he was really good. Finished with operatic tenor . Standing ovation

So sad to see its current state. Mostly closed all week and way too expensive. The entertainment if you can catch it is largely disappointing with little to keep the children occupied. It has very expensive parking which puts a lot of people off so most won't even give it a go. I've been coming here every year for 20+ years and this is the first year I simply haven't bothered to spend any time here. A hollow shell of what it used to be.

Popped in on Saturday 31st. Nice place. Live music was great

Food was very mediocre and a little cold

So sorry to see this place go down hill went there last night no security on so when the act came on children were running round him the one act tried to his show on stage but no one to shine the light on him no dj on just looked under staffed such a shame used to really like this place

Really disappointed ! Used to love coming here and was so pleased when we heard it had reopened. Trust me, it's not what it used to be. When we got there (7.30pn) it wasn't that busy at all but most tables had dirty plates. As a family of 9 and no staff around we had to remove the dirty plates and clean the table with wet wipes. Food came and what a disappointment! The fish was so over fried it was chewy.. the steak was full of grisel. No vinegar, the chips were also over fried. No staff around (fair play to the one waitress who was obviously rushed off her feet working solo). No free WiFi anymore. Waste of money. Edit: 2 hours after leaving this review I got quite sick on the evening - I had the fish 🤢

We spent a couple of nights had some decent food and watched a couple of shows well worth a visit

Based on our breakfast it was appalling, stone cold food, stone cold plates, even the toast wasn't toasted on one side! Member of staff asked her colleague if breakfast was still being served at 10.35am when it clearly states 11.45am on the menu. Some nice staff,some with bad attitude,like they didn't want to be there, well find another job then! However the Elvis tribute act was fantastic and like the Seagull of old so 'New Management' are getting something right but have a long way to go to match its previous first class reputation.We won't be eating here again. I got a refund and gave our business to a smashing little cafe very nearby instead which was thriving, why?because they clearly care, polite and welcoming staff, clean, great menu,great food and great price to match.

Outdoor entertainment on a weekend is brilliant, lovely afternoons, price of wine is expensive though

Nice fresh food clean place few slot machines for the kids reasonably priced and friendly staff

Had a lovely time and the kids injoyed the entertainment that they had on and food was spot on

Would give 0 stars if I could. AVOID!! Ordered food as a family of 4, the first 3 meals came out (Peri peri chicken) waited 10 mins for the 4th meal to come out (chicken tikka) in the time between the first 3 and the tikka we asked the restaurant staff twice where the tikka is. When it was finally out it was stone cold of which we sent it back. Waited another 10 mins for the second attempt of the tikka for that to also be stone cold. Sent that plate back. With no sign of the 4th plate of food we went to speak to the manager to which they replied “it’s not my problem” we asked for a refund but then they refused to give the 4th lot of food back to us (it was going to the youngest in the family) of which we didn’t take as we wanted the food. After MULTIPLE visits back and for the bar to find out where the food was we were no closer to getting anywhere with them. The assistant manager laughed at us when we complained about the food. It was only after 5 other tables consecutively behind us complained of their food being stone cold too is when he offered a full refund for all 4 meals of which we did take. However in the process of trying to get to a solution the manager and assistant manager threatened to call security to remove us as we were complaining about our food. We had to find food elsewhere for the youngest of our family just so she could eat tonight Wouldn’t go there.

The carvery we had yesterday was amazing the best we've had! And the afternoon entertainment was great. Love this place. Staff are so nice too

Undercooked chunky chips that I took a bite into and said can I have replacement that are cooked. They gave me back the exact same chips albeit stuck back in the frier. I know because the chip I bit into was back on my plate. Surly against health and safety? Curry stone cold & got my sons burger meal completely wrong and just blatantly scraped the things we requested not to be on his plate off and come out saying we happened to have exactly what we ordered available in seconds despite it being covered in coleslaw residue. Imagine my sone was allergic to something and they think this is acceptable. Absolutely disgraceful service.

If you ever listen to a review listen to this one because honestly I’ve never been more disappointed in a restaurant than I have with the seagul, compared to what this place used to be I can tell you now it has gone downhill and stayed there!! I found plastic wrapping in my coleslaw which I barely even got an apology for just sent a new one out, then a hair in my daughters pizza which they refunded us for but by that point with most of the food coming out cold no one wanted to carry on eating ruined the meal because she wouldn’t eat anything else from there so a wasted night and a wasted £60, the place was dead on a a Sunday night in high season that should of been the red flag we needed to turn round and find somewhere else, if you can’t get food out quick and hot with only two tables of people in there then there’s no hope, probably best to close it back down until they can figure out how to cook food without choking hazards in them!!

Visited this little gem today.Staff were really accommodating adapting the childrens food to the sides they like.Dog friendly which helped as we had 2 dogs with us.Toilets and facilities immaculate.Menu very appealing not just burgers and the usual holiday fast food.Wish we discovered this place before as this is our 3 visit to Brean.We will be putting this as our no1 place to visit next time we are here

Went there for a meal the other evening with 3 friends and had wonderful meals. The piri piri chicken was fantastic as was the steak and the steak pie and mash. Would definitely recommend going here. Plus the lad that served us was extremely curtious and friendly nothing was too much trouble, well done.

Went to the seagull inn today for the first time to watch Josh Graylish and Luke potter. First time seeing them both performing. Brilliant entertainment, lovely crowd and compliments to chef Andy (i think ..... the Irish chef) food was delicious, very friendly staff all round. A lovely afternoon

Staff were polite, and service was fast. However, EVERY aspect of our meal was wrong. We visited when there was 6 people maximum and they still got it wrong.

Food was ok chips was under cooked prices are abit high but thats my opinion

Since Covid this place hasn't quite got back to its former glory. New management in 2024 seems to be slowly getting there, though. With outdoor entertainment on weekends in the daytime, it is picking up. Hopefully it will keep this upward trend.

2 out of 4 meals came out stone cold and had to be sent back. One of the other meals was a meat free burger but the wrong one came out. Masala curry tasted nothing like a chicken tikka masala curry. We we're only ones in the restaurant, i could understand these mistakes if it was busy. (They did do a partial refund) However it was a wasted night.

Friendly staff. Clean toilets although no soap in the ladies which is not good at all. Very busy, lots of food orders being placed. Fair pricing of drinks etc. Lovely garden with views of the sea. Very dog friendly and next to a car park with all day parking for £5.

Absolutely amazing food and service. Sam and Tina were polite, friendly and very helpful. Definitely worth a visit.

Absolutely terrible food!!! Would not waste anymore money in here, pizzas were cold, orders came out wrong, and it wasn't even busy. Never again.

Had a family meal, sitting outside under cover. Was really looking forward to the Loaded Fries, as I have had these previously, Pre-Covid and they were fantastic. Unfortunately they were disappointing, not a lot of pulled pork and it wasn’t very tasty. Another member of the family had the pepperoni pizza, it was undercooked. We also had a chilli loaded fries, with half an avocado stone in the guacamole.

Shocking tried to palm 3 veg curry's off as chicken tikka fgs! Asked for lasagne, mash sausage and gravy and burger instead, lasagne was disgusting, mash was hard, Sausages were cremated, burger and chips was lovely. Then no ketchup, I mean come on like 🤦‍♀️😪 Won't be coming here again then! 🤢

Wow this place for meals has gone right down the pan.first our cheesy garlic bread was stone cold asked for reheat came back stone cold the simply chicken burger came out cold the chips our rock solid poor poor poor

We had a mixed grill and rump steak off grill menu. Peas were only Luke warm and black pudding was overcooked and gammon was salty otherwise it was good. Have done pizza night and was brilliant. Will be trying other nights.

If your after this quality of customer service your better of going to McDonald's at least there food is served hot me and my fiance went in for a meal on Sunday at 4 pm there's was only one other couple there yet I still had to wait 40 mins for my pulled pork burger once served the pulled pork was cold and the chips were solid I also asked for no tomato in my burger and they put no lettuce and still put tomatoe init the staff are very unprofessional they were to busy acting like kids behind the bar playing around with the music no one checked on us to see if are food was ok I'd avoid this place at all cost

Brilliant night spent at the seagull with my Grandchildren Will definitely visit again

First time going there this season only to find out that entertainment is now only on weekends and nothing during the week to keep kids entertained or to draw people in. Very disappointed as spent alot of time and money in here last year while down with kids.

Visited twice this weekend and had a great meal both times. Food is good pub grub that you can't go wrong with. Have deals on various nights and can vouch for the pizzas we had tonight. Staff are lovely and polite and provide great service. Been very quiet this week but can imagine it gets busy in high season but there's no shortage of indoor and outdoor seating space. The conservatory is nice for eating in the evening.

Went to the Seagull Inn for the first time this season on Sunday 24th March 2024 and we very impressed with the service and the carvery. There was a choice of 3 meats and a very large choice of vegetables. Returned today (Easter Sunday), and even though it was a busy, there was plenty of space available and staff were very attentive clearing tables. Carvery was again delicious and we will be returning. Thank you 😊

Not great, the entertainment is from the 80s and the prices are for 2037 don't recommend

Entertainment was advertised as illusionist got changed for yet another band madri £5 a pint adult only area massive compared to family area this could be a great family venue if more family seating often people with kids waiting for tables whilst aldut area half comasity

Don't try getting food here they never seem to have main meals that are on the menu

Had a great night. It was my first time at a country and western night at the seagull Inn. The staff were really nice, especially the security staff. The security woman called Jay went above and beyond to make sure we had a good evening. She was very friendly and she gave us the chance to chat with her. She even arranged for a member of the security staff to have a dace with a older woman who had been dancing on her own all night. That was truly amazing of her. Thank you so much for a great evening. Excellent venue with fantastic acts(all free entry) with good food & drinks

Went last night to watch a country and western band , nice venue lot's of seating, big bar . The only let down was the basket meal, over priced and small portions ,,,never again would I eat in there, the fish in batter very disappointing, I'm really not sure what fish it was !?!?

Visited on a Thursday and enjoyed the singer who performed songs from the past 40/50 years. Then attempted to go again on a Friday to find 50% of the seating closed and the open part rammed with people stood at the bar and anywhere there was a space. Failing to find a seat we left disappointed. Drinks are reasonable as the entertainment is free,pity they only open half of the place.

Was packed prices okay just had to wait to get a seat. Door man tried to sort for everyone asap..

Enjoyed an evening in there... bingo was fun for all age groups

We come here whenever we are in the area. It closed for a time so we couldn't but it's been great for a family meal followed by family entertainment. I have to have more than one dessert. Really did not mind spending money here and that's saying something for anyone who knows me.

Great place for entertainment and food. Had the burger and a pint for a tenner. Well worth the money as the burger was amazing.

Over rated over priced food and drink it is just not like the old seagull

Service was slow, when it did arrive it was shoved on the end of the table with now explanation of what food was what. I ordered pulled pork bun. Only comes with the bottom half of the bun !!! When I ask for the top I was told i had to pay for it !!! (Let's hope hovis dont start leaving the tops of there buns while we do our weekly shop!!!) Two of the orders came wrong but were too hungry to send back. Needlessly to say we won't return.

Not dog friendly and the outside area was completely away from the entertainment area.

Six of us had an evening meal very expensive and disgusting. The scampi was dried up and chips had still got black eyes in. My friends gammon was tough and salty. We left most of it realise we should have complained now.

This place doesn't even deserve 1 star! Upon approaching the entrance your breath is taken away from the smell of piss coming from the toilets! Food is poor quality. Do yourself a favour and avoid the place like the plague!

Manager was pleasant but place was dirty. Couldn't stay for evening entertainment as nowhere to sit. A whole half of the room was empty and just for adults only. Everywhere else was taken and people were leaving as there was no room to sit. Shame. Food was OK. Toilets were filthy. As said, shame as this place used to be very good.

The burgers were soggy and not good quality. Pizzas were alright and came in a box so you could take leftovers home. Service was particularly disappointing as waiter was patronizing and rude. Drinks person behind the bar on the other hand was lovely and so friendly but unfortunately rude food server had fogged the experience

Lovely food, lovely staff! Definitely a place to visit! Update 2023; popped in for a carvery while on holiday, as before lovely food and staff! We'll be back next year!

Only just reopened so only had drinks on patio but club looks nice inside but patio needs a good clean stuff dumped at one end and inside roof canopy looks like it never been cleaned since lockdown with thick cob webs and other rubbish thought they would have jet washed everything outside before reopening .
