The Seaforth Fish and Chip shop in Highland

Nice restaurant. The staff is friendly and the food we got was good. However, the first thing the server did when we sat down was list off everything on the menu that they didn't have; which was a substantial amount and included every fish dish.

Stopped off after not visiting for about 20years,went from a lovely local bar/chippy restaurant ect to sadly a lifeless tourist trap,restaurant decor pretty poor lacking any character,apart from the lights made out of fishing boat wheels! Bad music chose plus volume was loud,Baught 2 fish and chips at £20 each which I think for what we got was disappointing,hardly any chips,and the ones we did get where the scraps that lie in the bottom of the fryer,2 draft cokes at £4.50 each again weren't the best. Only thing good about this place is the friendly staff,our waitress chloe was fab very attentive!! 5* to her! Was told the bill price with out looking so only noticed after walking out that there was a 10% service charge put on the bill.which I would of asked to be taken off due the fact the food was already very expensive and not great! Sadly will not be returning or recommending this restaurant.

Incredible service, cannot fault, food was amazing and quick and still high quality, very accommodating of our young children and walk-in without booking, 5 star.

We had lovely Sunday lunch here. The staff were fabulous. Food lovely standard. Mussels were wonderfully prepared in a cream sauce.

Carry out. First the positive - the haddock was AMAZING! The most beautiful piece of haddock I have had in a long time perfectly cooked and I think it must have been on steroids in the Minch as it was a very large portion. Thats where it stopped though unfortunately. Chips were not nice, service wasnt great and wanting 50p for a small 5p tub of carry out sauce in a place where the food is already expensive was a bit of a joke - being asked to pay for sauce in a chip shop is not something I have come across much if at all. If you go, I would recommend just the single haddock - its what has pulled this review up to averageand if I'd just had it on its own I'd probably have gone for 10/10. Everything else, give it a miss

Still reeling from being charged £19.50 for a large chips and two sausages. Nuts. I'll be back in Ullapool, but won't be back at the Chippy at The Seaforth. I understand businesses exist to generate revenue and profit, but I'm not the first person to suggest the pricing here takes advantage of hungry tourists. Genuinely intrigued to know what the margin was on my order.

A bit disappointed, although staff were friendly and the atmosphere was good the food lacked especially for the price. We ordered two soup and baguette combos and the bread was rock solid and the "cheese" filling was processed slices. The soup was lovely but even that didn't soften the bread. We did let the staff know and they gave us a discount but I can't believe they even served processed slices. The fish and chips were small for £20. Draft cola was expensive too at £4.50.

When we ate everything was great. Amazing salmon and scallops, though we didnt try the curry and haddock since they were out of it. Otherwise, great service and recommendations.

Arrived for dinner 45 minutes prior to kitchen closing. Was told “there is still a lot of customers to serve so we cannot seat you”. Even though there were plenty of tables available. A real shame.

I was staying at a nearby hotel where the WiFi was out of order, but I managed to log on to the Seaforth's WiFi. And because I rightly gave them my email address, they have asked for a review - unsuspecting that I have never visited their premises. So I can say nothing at all about the food, the prices, the service or the atmosphere. But I can say that the WiFi is good, and that I am very grateful for it.

Went in for lunch and was friendly, quick and tasty. Good options for kids and even had live music at lunchtime.

Pretty average restaurant was alright not too sure about pricing on stuff as other places I have been have been better on pricing so average experience from my visit

Dear ! Very expensive, £55 (€64) for 2 burgers and 2 beers, it’s stingy. And that’s what’s in the lowest prices. The burger was pretty good even though the bun wasn't toasted.

This restaurant is 100% amazing. I ordered haddock fish & it arrived to my table in less than 10 minutes. Best fish I have tasted in UK. The staff are extremely good & kind too. I would come to Ullapool just to eat here. It’s amazing.

Not the best for vegans! Burger was expensive for something average. They automatically add a surcharge onto bill. Staff were very friendly and the service was good however.

Excellent ! The welcome, the service and the meal were perfect. We had starter, main course and dessert and we were not disappointed. I 100% recommend this restaurant

I came in with my bird 2 get food and the server lyndsay looked like she had bin dragged thru a hedge. She was looking my bird up an dwn cause she used 2 sleep wit her ex fella. She had filthy finger nails. An give us about 10 chips, over charged an then 2 top it off the was hair in burger. No hygiene wt so ever as she should of had hair net an she was chewing gum and stunk of ale.

Delicious Fish & Chips, Sticky Toffee Pudding and great selection of drinks. Staff went above and beyond and I'll be forever grateful for their help.

Just be aware that compared to other establishments in Ullapool, the Seaforth is ridiculously expensive. £13.95 for a pint of lager and a pint of ale.

Dropped in on a Saturday night after travelling to Ullapool on a whim. The guy serving behind the counter wasn't particularly friendly but we ordered a fish supper, smoked sausage supper and 2 large chips. The food didn't take long to make. The fish was lovely but the chips could have had a bit longer in the frier, they were rather pale! Most surprisingly they have a wee stand by the door for you to salt your own chips instead of doing it for you. Ketchup was free. Strictly contactless payments only. I think if I were to be in Ullapool again I'd go to the chippy round the corner with heaps of folk waiting..

THE worst fish and chips I've had in a very long time. I was so hungry I ate what I could but, as you can see, that wasn't a lot. Chips are very dry, over cooked or re-cooked. Fish was okay but the batter was greasy, flat, slightly raw inside. I don't like being so negative but I'd rather that no-one else has to waste their money, as I did.

Don't listen to the negative reviews, got fish and chips last night, very good , plenty of fish and chips , had mushy peas and curry sauce, only negative was that the curry sauce was a little bit too thin . Overall tho very good , will be back..

This place is incredible, the food was amazing very fresh and well presented. The staffs attention to detail was on another level and very friendly couldn't do enough to make us feel comfortable, credit to Demi who made this a very nice experience.

Nice pub with food overlooking Ullapool harbour. We had a pleasant evening. If there isn't room right away, don't despair, just leave your name, sit at the counter sipping a good beer and wait😉

Avoid! It’s a rip off… Extremely expensive, for food that is way below average standard. I feel very sorry for people who live in Ullapool. Fish and chips, Fish in batter was not freshly cooked. Pie was a joke it was a stew with a pastry lid

I have been visiting for 20 plus years and always always look forward to a dinner at the Seaforth. It is always busy (in a good way, nice atmosphere) and the only compromise we have had to make is sitting outside. Which to us is perfectly pleasant and has always been warm enough as late as September. Food is perfect pub grub with some of the items being a bit of a step above. Haggis is world class. Beers are always cold and well priced and staff have without fault, been super pleasant.

We had 3-courses for a great price. The food and service where also good.

I would like to say that this is the TOP 1 fish n chips in UK, 100% sure! I traveled all around UK from Isle of Wight to NC500. To be fair, fish n chips is just not my type and preference. If someone ask me any UK special food such as fish n chips, I ll still say not recommended, EXCEPT a fabulous restaurant at the far north of UK called The Seaforth👍 Thank u guys for the amazing tongue treatment today, it is one of my sparking memories in UK😊

Perhaps being a Sunday evening, but the worst bouillabaisse I’ve ever had! £28+ for tinned tomato soup, a few peas, 1tiny scallop, a couple of not so well cooked potato chunks, and about 8 pieces of fish!!!! Not good but my friend had the haddock soup which was lovely! Waitress super friendly and service good. Check bouillabaisse before you order!!!!

One complaint. Too big a portion! I'm a big eater bit i struggled to finish. Very tasty and the service was quick and friendly.

Last year stumbled upon this great restaurant . A year later, with the weather getting bad, Headed back to a place I knew from last year. Same Lodging Facility and decided to come here again for a great meal. Highly recommended, As the service is great, and the food is wonderful. The atmosphere also makes it highly enjoyable. Five stars for everything. Till my next trip to Scotland.

Draft Beers not so good. Tried them all and not certain why they all taste either too hoppy or of citrus fruit. Some decent real ales please!

The Seaforth made the largest impact on our journey on the basis of culinary experience. The staff were very friendly and attentive. They went out of their way to help celebrate our wedding and surprised my wife and I with a heartwarming, teary message in the dessert. It was honestly an amazing experience and we would recommend this place to anyone for a very tasty plate of food and excellent service.

You can drink a nice beer there.

Paid £12 for a fish super. Chips warm. Cold half way through eating. Fish was no more than six inches in length. I would have expected two for that price. It was also thick with grease. Yuck !

What a little gem of a place, the atmosphere is great. food was fantastic. great choice of beverages. All staff were polite and friendly. I would recommend booking a table, though.

Have never been, have never sampled their services, but they emailed me for a review unsolicited, so this is it. Food looks decent enough from the photos they have online though.

It's great when you walk in and it is indicated that everything has been reserved, but you can still eat until the table is actually occupied. That meant we still had an hour and a half. The boiled mussels for me and fish & chips for my friend were delicious. Friendly and attentive service, the food came quickly. We were tired, so we were back outside within 40 minutes with full stomachs.

Extremely helpful staff. We showed up without a reservation and the man at the door was able to get us in because there was some time before people started showing up. The lady that waited on us was very kind and helpful. My wife got the Haddock Mornay and it was delicious. She really enjoyed it and I got to have a bit of it also. I got the venison burger and if I'm being honest, I've had better. It seemed a bit overcooked. All of the seafood I saw other people getting looked delicious though. I suppose I get what I deserve for not ordering seafood in a town right on the water. You gotta live with your choices though. Overall, delicious and the staff is amazing. Great little upscale stop.

Was here last year, and we drove 50 miles each way to come again for good reason, so 4 of us in for lunch today. When we arrived all the tables were taken or reserved, so we were 1st on the waiting list and cosied up at the bar for about a 15 minute wait. Between us 4 main courses, a Seaforth burger, venison burger, fish and chips and a roast salmon. I had the Seaforth, was really good. Crispy onion rings and chips, the chips real fluffy in the middle, juicy patty and a magic bbq dip, same for the venison one according to Shep. Dad had the battered haddock. Good batter, succulent and fresh haddock with a great flavour. My sister had the salmon with spinach and mash, I never tasted that, but she was well happy. A nice ambience today, a load of tables held for a tour. We ordered just ahead of their arrival so we had no delay, the musician on the accordion belting out a few reels. A wee delay on coffees during the tour clear up, and a cold one so in fairness they were comped before we brought it up. This place is a sure fire guarantee for a good meal, attentive and professional service, it's clean, and we were well looked after by a lovely New Zealander. My only negative would be that I felt it a little over priced. £100 for 4 mains, 1 side including 10% service. However, I also understand, prime location and far NW 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 drives pricing. I'll see ya next year, thank you for a lovely meal. 😍 (my auld fella just had part 2 of his fish & chips for his tea. Nice one for the take away box)

The chips was probably the best chips I have ever had! However, the lady got our order wrong and the entire team was then talking about us, seen and heard. Which undoubtedly makes you feel very uncomfortable. Very pricey for 2 chips and 2 soft drinks and also paying a surcharge on top of that.

Served spontaneously, served quickly and hot, good beer.

Had fish and chips was brilliant food and quick service even though they were busy great service value for money

Ordered one large haddock which was enough for two of us. Great chips but the fish was a bit on the thin side. Had to wait on order as cooked fresh.

The food at this restaurant was excellent. We had seafood, and we really enjoyed it.

Had the misfortune of ordering panko breadcrumb haddock. Firstly they weren't panko bread crumbs. Blatant lie. Secondly, the fish was paper thin and dry and tasteless. I realise it is mostly staffed by people working there way around the country, but someone should care. Dreadful quality and even worse value for money. Beware.

As a coeliac eating out is often very hit and miss. It was a delight to find a Chippy serving gluten free fish and chips. They gave you a beeper to let you know when they were ready and you could sit in the garden area on benches. The food was lovely, not greasy and large portions too. None of the usual side effects for me. Total thumbs up.

Food was ok but staff were not very nice. They seem not so pleased that we were coming to lunch. A bit rude. I think they only welcome local people from Ullapool. I don’t know why they act like this as we spent a lot for the meal.

We had a wonderful lunch here and langoustines were delicious. Debbie was a star and looked after us beautifully. Many thanks and highly recommended.

Without a doubt the worst chippy tea I have ever had. Tasteless chips?! The haggis was truly awful, I hope people aren't trying it for the first time, it tastes absolutely nothing like haggis. Dressed fish overcooked. Fish in batter was good. Save your money, go to the Seafood Shack round the corner.

Good friendly service, nice food. We had chilli prawn linguini and scallops (plus chips and salad) - all fresh and very tasty. Excellent chips! Not cheap but you get what you pay for. A pleasant place to eat in Ullapool - nice ambience. Was busy in August so recommend booking.

My son has just got fish and chips from the chippy for £13 and the portion size is like a child’s! He is 6ft and 22 years old. He is too nice to go in and complain. He won’t be back. Such a shame as he has good memories of this place. He is working up in Ullapool but will go else where now. What a rip off.
