Stay away from from this place I went with my partner and the minute we walked in the restaurant was cold and I had to wear my jacket the full time I was in. The food was tasteless, I have had a better microwave Indian out of Iceland and it came to a whopping £85. Also we asked for one rice and we felt that the owner talked us into getting 2 because they were “small” they definitely were not small one would have been enough for 2 people money grabbing we felt.

Fantastic food. Came up to visit friends and family. Worth a trip just for this restaurant. So many vegetarian options ( just ask when you’re there) and they swapped some ingredients out to make us some vegan options too. Best Indian restaurant north of Edinburgh without a doubt.

A good standard of curry. If I were local I'd like to try lots of different dishes. Atmosphere is a silly category.

Called for a take away was not disappointed really tasty I don't think the rating reflects the quality of the food and service will definitely be returning

We were recommended to go here by a local, a little apprehensive as not the most inviting looking place, but you go for the food right ? And we were not disappointed. Easy parking right outside too. Four of us ordered , staff lovely explained the menu , staff spoke with chef, came back with answers for us, honestly the food was great ( we are not the easiest pleased group) served nice, looked good, served hot, and all four of us finished all our dishes , Chef came out too and asked if we enjoyed, Please try it if you fancy Indian/Bangladesh/ authentic food , Oh the place was very busy too , always a good sign.

Very sad experience, staff was rude and hygiene was an issue …..despite mentioning the plate was dirty it was not changed and just wiped with tissue, were overcharged and while disputing the staff was aggressive and general attitude was not nice…food was average Would never recommend anyone to have a meal there

Food was generally good, although the peshawar naan is probably worth missing. The bill was a little creative and I advise checking this before paying, on reflection and consulting the online menu it appears we paid approximately £10 more than the dishes we consumed.

Just had two of the best dishes in a long time. We had a Lamb Bhuna and a Chicken Lemon and Coriander. Very good and excellent service.

Best Indian food for miles (and their Fish and Chips from their shop next door is brilliant too). Lovely large menu and everything we've tried so far has been delicious. The staff are always very friendly too. Like many places in Dornoch, the prices are a little higher than surrounding towns but in this case, their food is definitely worth the cost.

We visited on a Sunday evening. Google’s results suggested it was permanently closed but we went to look anyway because everything else was closed after 8. It was very much open and we had a great meal. Very typical of a decent local Indian restaurant. We had rice, naans, popadoms and mains. All good. Service was also good.

We visited Highland Spice for a takeaway on our last night in Dornoch. We had the Tandoori platter which, despite our initial worry that the bag felt very light compared to our takeaway at home, was plenty for 2 of us & very tasty. We were able to walk back to the campsite & still enjoy a hot meal. Highly recommend

Lush chips and beautifully cooked fish with no flobby batter. Very quick service too.

Went here for dinner on our overnight stay in Dornoch and I wouldn’t visit again. Customer service was so/so. Popadoms were fresh and hot, lovely with the dip tray. Starters were nice also. The problem was with the main, rice is small probably only suitable for one person, we were served chippy chips which to me is awful with an indian dinner! The chicken tikka masala tasted like what can only be described as a sweet and sour sauce it was awful. Garlic nan bread had nothing garlic about it was burnt and tasted like oil. Definitely wouldn’t visit again.

Was a bit unsure of going after reading some reviews but WOW, it was amazing. From the minute you walk through the door you are made very welcome and the service was fab. The food was outstanding. Generous portions and wonderfully tasty. If I'm back in the area will definitely be back. Tha k you for a very enjoyable meal.

I was a little unsure of this restaurant after reading some reviews. But I'm glad I went with my gut, it was amazing. From when you walk in the door the service is first class. What a hidden wee gem! We had a lovely takeaway meal here. The food was outstanding and very authentic, freshly made and very tasty. The guy was very friendly and took our takeaway out to the car when it was ready. Definitely worth a visit. Best meal we had whilst in Dornoch.

On holiday with friends and was advised that this was the only curry house in Dornoch so was a bit apprehensive.... but don't be... the Onion bhajis were amazing and the Madras was so tasty and and chicken tikka chunks were massive!! We were the only people eating in that Friday evening, seems to be mostly takeaways. When the first person in our group was asked what he wanted to drink he asked for water (he was driving) and the waitress didn't ask the rest of us, just rushed off and came back with water for all of us. We had to ask for some beers next time we saw her. We were served poppadoms but our main order wasn't taken, despite our knowing what we wanted to order, until the poppadoms were cleared away. So it all took a very long time, despite being empty apart from us! The food was ok though but we probably won't return as the service wasn't good or at all efficient. We all had vegetable vindaloo.

We had a mix of 4 dishes. All good and very tasty. Tandoori chicken tops in my opinion but the shahi malai dish was a new one to us and became an instant favourite .

We had the mixed munch box, chicken tikka kebab including fish and chips. All the batter on all food was soggy and the chips weren’t cooked properly. Perhaps the fat wasn’t hot enough, or needed changed but it was the worst takeaway we have ever had. Ended up throwing most of it away as it was in-edible. Our other friends who ordered similar had to do the same. Would not recommend.

The owner is a very nice guy and welcoming. Couple tables already in and they all seemed to enjoy their food. I had a simple curry which owner recommended with rice and garlic nam bread. Food came pretty quick and service was fine but the curry was bland to the point if I did not know I was in an Indian it would never have passed for a curry. Curry is by far my favorite food. Paid £25 for the dinner with bottle Cobra. Not bad I thought. A few hours later my body started to react to some possibly bad chicken, not sure but I fought all night not to vomit and had to go to restroom all night due to this food. Make of this what you will but this wasn’t my first time, I have visited here over last couple years several times. I won’t be going back. It has always been mediocre at best but I have tried several times now. Lol, I actually went there a few days ago to catch a chip butty, @£3.75 I expected a proper decent portion of chips and a nice Scottish am roll, err try old crusty sesame roll and the chips tasted awful. I certainly and most unfortunately won’t be supporting this restaurant in the future. Shame there is pretty much nothing else in Dornoch.

When you don't know what you fancy, ask the owner. I don't know what he ordered for me but it was delicious! This is now my go to meal from this takeaway, thanks Jaman!

We had a takeaway from Highland spice and it was decent but that's all. The curry's could have had more taste to them as they where quite bland. The portion size of the chicken pakira was quite small considering the price.

Had carry outs a number of times when visiting Dornoch and the quality of the food is consistently great. Brilliant chicken tikka sagwala and fantastic Sabzi Samba vegetarian dish.

This restaurant is situated within a retail park. Too much colouring had been used in the food hence it was very red. It was not an enjoyable experience eating here.

First time visiting Highland spice and it was really good..I am a curry head and cook curry every week..I ordered veg pakora which was cooked perfectly, nice crisp colour, filled and spiced well with a light not greasy texture and bite. chicken tikka chilli garlic again fresh and bang on, lovely onion, garlic,tomato rich sauce with a lovely flavour, pilao rice and garlic nan...we had to bail out from our camping trip early due to rain or I would have been back to try the butter chicken..I reheated the leftovers the next night when I got home and it was still superb..il be back..thank you..ps. the staff were warm and friendly.

Bought take away dinner for 4. All the food was cold. The chicken korma looked like a yellow sludge. Weirdly there was none of the nice curry smells you normally get.

Has to be the worst chippy I have ever experienced, the chips were raw and tasteless, king rib was swimming in a foul grease , red pudding was disgusting, and it was all made to order which is far worse ,, never will I ever go back ,, yuk !!

While on holiday we used this restaurant twice, had take away and sat in one evening. The food and service on both occasions was excellent. I am happy to recommend this restaurant to others who enjoy spice authentic food.

We ordered via phone and picked up. I couldn't find a proper menu online but were only staying round the corner so popped and took photos of the menu displayed in the window earlier in the day. There's a very large menu with practically every dish you can think of listed.  Along with lots and lots of specials. Friendly chap answered the phone and was told it would be ready in 20-25 minutes. True to their word it was ready on time and piping hot. I ordered a madras which had a good level of heat a very red rich sauce and plenty of chicken. My husband ordered a Kerala special with lamb and whilst nice it was practically a korma and some parts of the lamb were a bit tough. Peshwari naan was a very bright orange colour inside. Not seen one this colour before but it tasted OK. Shared a boiled rice. Total cost £29.65 for 2 mains, 2 bread and one rice. Nice average curry.
