The Scullery in Sunderland

Lovely meal with teens and elders. Warm and welcoming atmosphere. Great service. Generous portions. Delicious food. Will be back.

We visited this restaurant as part of a party of 20. I had looked forward to catching up with family and having a nice meal, however that wasn’t to be. We were seated in the front end of the restaurant and it was absolutely freezing to the point where most of the party kept their coats on. No effort had been made to seat the party together, and we were seated at opposite sides of the room. The food was ok, apart from the fries which were absolutely swimming in oil. My desert was sticky toffee pudding and custard and it was the worst desert I have ever experienced. We won’t be returning.

Came for solo dinner as my husband was ill and really needed to get away from his constant "sniffles" 😂😂 I've eaten here a few times before but what really stood out for me this time was Caitlyn who served me Really attentive, polite, nothing was too much trouble and really efficient. Good staff really makes a difference to whether I'd return or not so this was a huge winner for me!! A credit to you all

Still my favourite restaurant, absolutely delicious food. Hubby had fillet steak which was gorgeous. I had king prawn in garlic and white wine with rice. Starters were calamari and mozzarella cheese which far exceeded expectations. The best restaurant in the north east let along Sunderland. We travelled from Hexham and will be back again.

Incredible food across the board, from standard menu to Sunday dinners. Great atmosphere, lovely staff and reasonable prices.

Been here a few times and the food is amazing. And every time we have been we have had the pleasure of Michelle being our waitress. She is brilliant, fantastic customer service skills, polite , friendly and helped entertain out 2yr old Heidi so we (mam and dad could eat) . I've said it before and I'll said it again, she is worth her weight in gold. When you have a waitress like Michelle THATS what brings you back to the restaurant. It's reasonably priced, food is amazing, but to be honest woth you it's the service that stands out the most. It's Top notch 👌. All staff are brilliant but Michelle is on another level. Highly recommend and will return. 10/10 all round. Portion size of food is also amazing. Never had a bad meal. Next time I'm going to Tey the lasagne. The kitchen staff will accommodate what you want ANOTHER thing to tick to the box. Can't fault the place . Must visit you will NOT be disappointed :)

Top notch breakfast today, we had the “skinny breakfast” & the Full Scullery breakfast and we weren’t disappointed. Good quality ingredients, served fresh and quickly. Beautiful surroundings & very attentive staff. Keep on doing what you’re doing 🤩 Sorry no pics we wolfed it down!

Honestly, I've never had such a poor Italian in my life. The pizza was extremely salty with lumps of what looked and tasted like precooked chicken and splodges of barbecue sauce. The pasta dish was made with dried, packet pasta and was so salty i couldn't eat it. dessert (I rarely have dessert) was atrocious. They only have squirty cream...no actual pouring or freshly whipped cream. The potato skins were delicious but the only thing I'd eat if I had to go back.

Another amazing meal from Karen and the team. Food was beautiful as alway and staff are always around should you need anything more. I wish I took photos but we were hungry so dug right in.

BRILLIANT JUST BRILLIANT!!! Went for lunch with a family friend. I had spaghetti bolognaise and my friend had the fish and chips. Great food, great staff, great service and the place has a lovely atmosphere. Highly recommend.

Decided to give it a go here with my bestie for our monthly lunch date and wish we hadn’t bothered. Tuna sarnie was 2 white, stale slices of basic cheap bread, very thin layer of tuna and a slice of lettuce, 1 slice of tomato and cucumber. It was horrid. My friend ordered a pizza and it was cold and greasy/tasteless. Table was sticky and in general the room didn’t look clean. Wont be back.

Took my Mam for afternoon tea yesterday - it was absolutely lovely. So worth the money 😊 the staff and service werebrilliant. We couldn’t eat it all, so they kindly boxed it up for us. Would highly recommend 😊

Been here a number of times and it just seems to get better. The lunchtime specials are excellent value, pizzas the best, table service exceptional will be back sooner rather than later.
