Was invited to a friend's 60th birthday party/ Afternoon Tea. Party was held in the large function suite which was nicely decorated. Staff were great - THOROUGHLY attentive throughout producing more and more sandwiches and topping up drinks continuously. Being Gluten intolerant my friend had organised a special offering for me and it was EXTREMELY tasty. A couple of well filled sandwiches/ two sausage rolls and two cheesy rolls - very filling. I had four sweet offerings - again very tasty - but was only able to manage a couple. Would DEFINITELY recommend for any sort of Celebration/ party.

Another wonderful Christmas lunch at Scott’s in Grangemouth. Gorgeous food and brilliant front of house staff, Paul, Arron and Rachel. Every diner was treated like a precious jewel. Nothing was too much trouble. I can’t thank you all enough for the assistance and support you gave to Peter. As for Santa’s arrival and the children’s joy when they received their personalised gifts, my eyes leaked. See you next time Peter and Jenny xxxx

Visited here with friends to celebrate at a Ruby Wedding Party. It was raining when we arrived and staff came to meet us out of taxi with an umbrella never had that before at a function very nice touch It was a very good sized hall with a reasobable sized dance floor. The buffets was one of the best I have had in a very long time.Staff couldn't do enough for you Music was good too all added to the ambiance on the night. All in all I would definately think about gaving a function there in the future. Pity they are no longer doing the Bistro food since they have taken over the Park Bistro in Linlithgow that was a missed opportunity on my part.

It was the third of march and would you believe some roads leading to wood street were closed and under three feet of snow. So much for the first week of spring. It was the day of our marriage and we were fighting against all that mother nature was flinging at us. When my wife and I arrived we were pleasantly surprised by the amount of guests who actually made it to the venue. After congregating in the smaller function room we were piped through to the larger function room for the ongoings. After the speeches and the meal we were decanted into the smaller function room again so the layout could be changed for the night time proceedings. Mingling with the guests it was encouraging to hear that many enjoyed a fabulous meal. Many danced the night away to a good mix of music. The night drew to a happy end. We would rate our wedding experience as five star throughout. We had good food, value for money and excellent waiting staff. I would not hesitate to recommend this venue to any considering a wedding or function. Ask for Paul the wedding organizer and you won't be disappointed.

We were at the Scott’s for a friend’s wedding and must recommend it as an excellent venue. The Layout was very good with 2 function rooms with bar facilities in both rooms. The staff were very friendly and courteous whilst serving food or drinks behind the bar. The meal was excellent with 3 choices of starter, main and desert (I had steak pie as a main which I would thoroughly recommend). The drinks were very well priced for a venue of this stature with 3 pints of Lager, a bottle of beer and an alchopops all costing a very reasonable price of £16. The main function room was very nicely laid out with round tables which sat 10 to 12 people. To sum up the Scott’s, we found it a great venue for a wedding and would definitely recommend to others.

We had been to see the Kelpies and wanted something a little more special than the cafe at the Kelpies. We struggled a little to find the Scotts, it’s in a housing estate and I suspect it’s an ex social club. They have made a massive effort at the refurbishment and the staff are really attentive but it simply lacks atmosphere. The food was great and generous. In its defence it was a cold Thursday lunchtime in March.

I ate here with family on a Sunday evening, what a lovely, cosy restaurant. Friendly and welcoming staff accommodated us and the odd special request. The menu has something for everyone plus there is a specials board with something for each course. The lentil and ham hock soup was homemade and delicious, I had the roast beef with all the trimmings and it was very good (although I could have eaten more veg and less potato but that's personal choice) and the orange and cointreau cheesecake from the specials board was lovely.

We were visiting The Kelpies so I looked for a place to have afternoon tea and found this place on a Groupon deal. It has to be said that the area that the bistro is in certainly isn't the nicest looking but the building itself looks nice and once your inside it really doesn't matter. We arrived 45 minutes before my booked time but was instantly told by the friendly waitress that it wouldn't be a problem and they would simply bring the booking forward. All of the staff we encountered were extremely attentive and professional and are a credit to the business. Service with a smile. On to the food which I guess is why we went. Quite simply the food could not be faulted, the sandwiches of which there were 5 different varieties were fresh and tasty (leave the cheese savoury until last, they are divine!), the cakes were very nice, the meringue being my favourite with a nice chewy centre and some lovely tasty scones with jam and cream to finish. Mix this with a nice cup of fresh coffee and we left full and satisfied. Give Scotts Bistro a try, I don't think you will be disappointed.

We invited our friends along for company. We were greeted by two lovely waitresses who could not have made us feel any more welcome. We were shown to our seats and drinks order taken. Our starters were potato skin that were well portioned, a large plate of chicken strips, Nachos to die for and a very special stornoway black pudding with goats cheese. Our mains were a very tasty beef smorgasbord - compliments to the chef. Tasty fish and chips, amazing scamp, old favourite Steak Pie and contrary to previous reviews...a Black n blue burger that was cooked to perfection....Just the right amount of blue cheese to flavour without overpowering the rest of the burger. Well done again Chef!We could not find any room for desserts but what we saw on other people's plates....We might forgo starters the next time to taste the deserts.Everyone was so friendly and happy.Great dining experience in a lovely relaxed atmosphere.Keep up the great work!

Firstly, love the space between tables. Service was quick and friendly. My wife and I had come out on the spur of the moment and she had told me about the afternoon teas.As it was after 5pm we just had our meal. She chose nachos as a starter, which were original and tasty, not just cheap doritos and dips. I chose the potato and leek soup which was really tasty. She loved the Hunter's chicken and I was most impressed with the venison sausages in a red wine sauce. To top it off, we finished with sundaes. Hers a caramel one, mine an amazing strawberry one, which tasted out of this world. A first visit, yes but not my last for sure.

I went with my 90 neighbour who had been given a voucher for Christmas. The venue is very comfortable and well laid out, you're not sitting on top of the next table and can have a conversation without yelling at each other. Service was very attentive if a little slow but that could be because they were making fresh scones. Our afternoon tea was very substantial, finger sandwiches, still warm scones and a trio of cakes which we struggled to finish. All in all a very satisfying experience.

We have eaten here on many occasions but after Sunday will not go back. I opted for the Sunday roast and when I cut into the beef it was red and uncooked inside. The roast potatoes were obviosly frozen ones and tasteless. The mashed potatoes were under the roast beef and they were cold and pink coloured from the blood in the beef. I did eat the yorkshire pudding and the small amount of veg on the plate. Nobody came and asked how our food was. When the young female waitress lifted the plates away (she didn't appear to notice I'd eaten hardly anything) I complained about the food. She asked if we wanted dessert which we did order because I was starving. She came back and told me the chef had said 'thats exactly how the meat SHOULD be because it's roast sirloin' I told her I've had roast sirloin before and it's never been like that. She said the chef said if it was cooked any longer it would be far too tough??? My sticky toffee pudding came and the toffee sauce had been burnt, was covered in hard crunchy bits which tasted burnt. I just ate it because I was hungry and we went out to the desk to pay the bill. It was the same waitress and I told her about the dessert and I said to her 'by rights I shouldn't even be paying for this since I've eaten barely anything'. She said the chef had said not to charge for dessert. (big deal) This is the first time we've had issues here but the main reason for not going back is the complete lack of customer service.

Arrived for dinner very early on a Thursday evening before going back to our hotel, it was very quiet but that was fine for us after a long day. The location was unusual (or at least the satnav took us in through an estate) possibly because it does functions too, but the restaurant part was simply but nicely laid out and clean. Our young waitress was pleasant and service was very good overall. For our starters, the nachos were great and a real surprise, properly fried tortillas rather than some chips on a plate with cheese and jalapenos. The paté had a lovely smooth texture but wasn't strong enough tasting for me, however the orange chutney that went with the paté was delightful and more than made up for it. Mains were all big portions and tasty. I had beef stroganoff, my wife had the chicken enchilada and our son had the haddock (in breadcrumbs or batter, always a nice touch). The mains were especially good value at under £8 each, and much better quality than most pub food. The desserts sounded great (with a cheesecake of the day and a crumble of the day), but we were full up.All in all, lovely food, fresh ingredients and genuinely home-made, and at a great price. We highly recommend it.

We visited The Scott's whilst visiting our good friends in Grangemouth. They suggested it as a venue for a spot of Sunday Lunch. It's a lovely venue with tasteful decor and attentive friendly staff. There is an extensive menu. There were people having meals, afternoon teas etc. whilst we were there. We decided to have the value menu and had 3 courses for £14. Now quite often with value menus the food is the same but just smaller portions. There was no sign of that. The portions were huge! All the food was freshly cooked, piping hot and delicious. We had the nachos to start which were homemade - no sign of Doritos anywhere. Highly recommend these if you like nachos. The steak & ale pie was brilliant too and as for the sticky toffee pudding - it was huge but light as a feather. As we are over 200 miles away from The Scott's it is not a venue we will be able to visit often but is certainly one we would visit again when back in the area. We booked for Christmas dinner at the Scott's for my wife, my mother-in-law and myself. From the very moment of booking, the staff's attention to us and efficiency was exemplary. Helpful emails and telephone calls were made in the lead-up and each time we had cause to interact with any of the staff by telephone, they were extremely polite, upbeat and helpful. Come Christmas Day, we arrived to a warm welcome from all the staff and a first-rate meal was served to us promptly, but without any sense that we were being rushed. The function room was made as Christmassy as possible and the atmosphere was lovely. Once again, the staff could not have been more helpful or attentive. We very much hope to be able to return next Christmas Day, if possible. As a professional musician, I spent ten consecutive days (working) in Gleneagles hotel, and I don't think the guests there got better service or better value for money than we have had today.

The place was extremely difficult to find. Unsurprisingly only 1 other table occupied when we arrived. We ordered what was billed as their starring Sunday Lunch. We had to wait for over 40 minutes for 1 course of overcooked and re-heated chicken breast, packet Yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes which were fried boiled potatoes in their skins and cold mixed vegetables. Even the bacon on the chicken was far far too salty. Altogether one of the worst meals any of us has ever eaten.

Four of us visited for dinner. Each meal was gorgeous, cooked perfectly and served with a smile. Puddings were amazing and extra custard provided on asking. Definitely return and recommendations to friends and family.

Had a groupcon voucher to use. Have never been to The Scotts before and it is really lovely inside. Very well set out lovely decor. Afternoon tea was superb. Sandwiches were plentiful...nice fillings soft bread....white and brown. Only 2 cakes each and 1 scone but they were very nice and scones fresh. Cream and jam plentiful. Chose coffee instead of tea....next time will chose tea as u get quite a large teapot full...we only had 1 cup of coffee and didnt get offered amy refills ....this was the only let down x

I was taken to Scott's as a birthday treat for afternoon tea. The place was almost empty although it was 1pm. The sandwiches were dry, the cakes uninspiring and there were no scones! We had to ask for more tea, as none was offered. I was disappointed, as several places in Falkirk now offer afternoon teas and I have sampled a few of them. This was pretty average fare and I won't be rushing back. Sorry.

I went to the Scott's with my Mum and sister after hearing great reviews. We all thoroughly enjoyed our meal and I couldn't wait to come back with my husband so he could try it. When me and my husband came however I left rather disappointed as the food just wasn't the same standard as it had been the first time. I ordered the Macaroni cheese again as it had been so amazing the first time but unfortunately when it came there was this horrible pool of grease across the top and the cheese left a horrible after taste. My husband ordered the Sunday roast beef and said the gravy was completely tasteless. It was such a shame as we were both looking forward to our meal and it just didn't live up to expectations. We are both going to try it again and hopefully it will be as good as the first time.

Had dinner here tonight (Saturday) with my husband and it was lovely. They bring you warm mini crusty bread rolls and butter to eat before your meal arrives which is a nice touch. We had scampi and steak pie, both freshly cooked and piping hot followed by sticky toffee pudding and the biggest strawberry sundae with fresh strawberries on.The bill was £25 60 with drinks. Nice modern decor and friendly attentive staff.

We went for a Sunday lunch and their roast did not disappoint. Great choices on the menu, good wine list, family atmosphere and fantastic service. Friendly, welcoming and a lovely feel to the place once inside. Would recommend.

Food was ok.... cooked from fresh.... it was so fresh in fact... that i thought they had to catch the chicken in the first place?!!. Waited an absolute age to get served... but all in all a decent tasting meal. The 3 stars given only because of the really slow service!

Booked a table for seven people, we were greeted by the manager and shown to our table. Drinks ordered and served quickly given time to study the menu which was plentiful and varied. Food ordered and arrived quite quick, lentil soup was just as you would expect, delicious, service was good and food cooked to perfection and all at a reasonable price.

Lovely welcome very modern and clean establishment. Lovely afternoon tea selection. Nice waitress.Open plan with wooden floors made it a bit echoey. Not a problem but better to be prepared.Nice to see all ages indulging, including 4 young mums and their little ones enjoying afternoon teas also.

Fancied a nice lunch and passed by this place so gave it a try.Got nachos which was lovely, actually home made kind of nachos not a packet of Doritos shoved in the oven like most places. Delicious main meals and pretty reasonable pricing too. Good for s nice lunch or dinner as it's very pretty inside. Would definitely go back.

The staff are first class. A great atmosphere and the food for the most part wash perfection itself .The only negative comment is that the crumble had no sweetness to it at all .A spoonful of sugar would have given them top marks .

Very poor afternoon tea. I go for afternoon tea a lot and this is without doubt the worst. Skimpy sandwiches. Brick hard scones i asked to be replaced got lovely fresh ones was told had been "made this morning". Tiny bite size cakes and only two each. Service OK. Asked for an ice cream for take away for my gran child was charged almost four pounds in a tin bowl! Will NEVER return!

We stopped here en route to a trip to Airth from Glasgow after reading reviews online. What a fabulous find! We thought we had got lost as the satnav took us through a housing estate but we found The Scotts and I'm glad we did. We got a warm welcome on arrival and the waiting staff were lovely. As for the homemade Nachos, what can I say........they were worth the trip alone! After the starters the main courses had a lot to live up to and they did. The cajun chicken and steak pie were tasty (I'm told) and came with side salad and veg. I had the macaroni which defeated me after the nachos. It was a decent size portion of mac cheese, chips and garlic bread. Great value for money and I would definitely recommend The Scotts and visit again

Visited with a party of 12 for afternoon tea. staff were very helpful. Sandwiches were plentiful and varied, scones were yummy and there was a good selection of cakes in dainty helpings. Lashings of tea and coffee to wash it down. The surroundings were pleasant, Plenty of parking and disabled access. A good experience. Will go back for a meal next time.

Brilliant meal for average prices. Proper home made nachos and the main meals were really good. Friendly staff but the place was very quiet we went for a long lunch on a Saturday and were there for about 2 hours and not one single person came in which I think is due to its location in the middle of a empty bit of a housing estate but all in good food for a good price! Would recommend!

Went today with a groupon offer for afternoon tea. Very disappointed! The sandwiches were nice the cakes certainly weren't home baked and one of them tasted a bit funny, which it told the waiter about. When my coffee came it was only half a cup so had to ask for them to fill it up and the sparkling wine we didn't even drink because it tasty cheap and nasty. Certainly not worth the groupon price so would have hated to pay the full price

I booked the Scotts for a 50th birthday party. From my initial enquiry though to the end of the event the whole experience was stress free. I was given advice on menus to choose requests were all met. I took the extra package with the disco and balloons being provided.DJ played music to suit all ages. The hall is spacious an the tables were nicely decorated. All the tables were round tables and came in a variety of sizes catered seating differrent and being round easy to talk to everyone at the table. The catering was excellent with good choices. I forgot candles for the cake and they were supplied without question. The venue was very clean there was a great atmosphere. All staff were very friendly, glasses when empty were promptly cleared from tables. I would recommend anybody looking for venue for a function to seriously consider using the Scotts. A further bonus is their excellent restaurant for anybody wishing to eat out before the function starts.

Booked the afternoon tea as part of a birthday treat for my dad, and it was an absolute treat. Staff were extremely friendly, excellent serving of sandwiches, home bakes, scones and even a second pot of tea. Nice decor inside with plenty of room inside to relax and enjoy your afternoon tea.The outside of the building draws away from the appeal but the food and staff make up for it a hundred times over. They do say "Never judge a book by it's cover" and this is completely true in this scenario. We enjoyed the afternoon tea so much that we came back at night for dinner and the food selection and quality were top notch. After dinner we took part in the main function hall to play prize bingo, which is played every Tuesday night. The hall was full and all tables were taken but it was no problem to the staff to arrange a table and chairs for our group of 4.At our time of our stay in Grangemouth we ate at the restaurant at our hotel only on the first night, our second and third nights meal we had were at The Scott's Bistro. The second night we ate at The Scott's my dad and me were celebrating our birthday and 3 out of the 4 of us had steaks and they were extremely tasty and cooked to perfection. When our puddings were served the staff had taken the opportunity to put birthday candles on our puddings and the lights were dimmed and the staff came out singing happy birthday.I cannot thank the staff enough as they made our stay in Grangemouth that little more perfect. The Scott's is only a 5 mins off the M9 motorway and I would certainly recommend this family run Bistro to everyone. We will be back again.
