The Scotts Arms in Leeds

We arrived for dinner on our first night in Wetherby and were really pleased to get a table. The pub is really warm and cosy so even though it is quite big it still feels very friendly and welcoming. Excellent service, really friendly and efficient. We had the gammon steak and the steak pie with chips. Both were gorgeous, beautifully cooked and served and generous portions. You can tell we're in a farming area as the food was obviously as fresh as can be . I liked that they were family and dog friendly, and welcomed everyone. I noticed that they offer boot covers at the door for visiting farm workers, and they had walking maps on offer on the back wall beside a shop selling stoves. Excellent place that seems to have become a central meeting hub for the village, so you get a very warm and friendly vibe whilst serving excellent range of food and drinks. I was pleased there was a good choice of non alcoholic drinks too. There was an excellent and very tempting choice of desserts too but we hadn't left enough room to try them! There was no way I was leaving any of that pie!😆

Sunday Lunch ,,, lovely place nestled in sicklinghall village , family run which adds that extra attention to detail very welcoming & good service, lovely atmosphere very homely & cosy. We went for beef Sunday lunch, vegetables cooked to perfection, mashed potatoe which was extra wasn’t the best although the portions were very pleasing. Good choice of starters mains & desserts, priced very reasonable. Only downside to the food was the temperature could have been a lot warmer. But if visited Sicklinghall again would be tempted to return. 7/10

From first entering the pub/restaurant as staying guests the friendly welcome was great. We were able to check in a bit early as our room was ready, and a lovely room it was too. Soon downstairs with the Saturday papers, a Rhubarb G&T and an excellent pint of Landlord, (or 2)! We both ordered the Rare Breed Pork Loin steak, char-grilled to perfection, smothered in Bramley Apple Compote & Aged Gruyère Gratin with Wholegrain mustard mash and stem broccoli. I expected 1 steak, but there were 2 and a bargain at £18. The staff were great and absolutely nothing was too much trouble. A nice bottle of White Rioja completed the meal. My daughter, who is a foodie and lives 16 minutes away had never tried it, but I’ll certainly be telling her to. Excellent overnight stay, can’t comment on breakfast as we had to leave before the kitchen opened at 8am.

Just called in for lunch after driving around the local very scenic area with family from Tingley. Nice comfortable pub with friendly staff, good food and a comprehensive drinks menu, all at reasonably prices. Service was efficient, parking was easy. All you need really. Recommended if you’re up in that part of Yorkshire.

Comfortable 4 night stay. Nothing too much trouble for staff. Breakfasts and dinners were varied, tasty and well presented. Handy for Wetherby, York and Harrogate.

Really enjoyed our meal, the waitress was really helpful making recommendations and the food was lovely with good size portions and very reasonable in price, we aren’t local but said we’d happily visit again next time we are in the area

My friend and I came here for pudding as we couldn't find anywhere decent in Wetherby town centre. Well, we certainly weren't disappointed with our choice to come here. What a beautiful ambience, with fairy lights and such a cosy vibe. We both ordered the sticky toffee pudding and I must say it was one of the tastiest puddings I've had for a long while. Service was also really quick and staff all were very friendly. What a great find - I'd love to come back for a full meal or perhaps a mulled wine when the temperatures drop over winter.

Excellent Sunday lunch, tasty beef, great Yorkshires and vegetables. We also enjoyed the Tiramisu. Lovely staff, efficient service. Looking forward to coming back here.

Have been going to Scotts Arms for almost 40 years, but not again. Smashed head on corner of fireplace trying to leave the table. Bruised and on inspection at home a tiny cut. Staff very half hearted when enquiring if I was Ok. Knocked a glass over when reeling from the bang on the head and staff very slow to help, meaning my wife was was blocked in trying not to stand on broken glass.Terrible table not suitable for a couple. Luke warm vegetables, but passable meals To cap it all, I queried what the side dish was on my bill. Apparently, because I asked asked for a little ice cream as well as custard they had to charge me. Couldn't stand the loss of £2.50 cash!! No sympathy for my experience! No underestanding of my experience. Could only think of grabbing my cash.

Called today for Sunday lunch with friends having booked and ordered the steak pie twice and two Sunday lunches of beef and turkey. The restaurant was quite full so glad we booked. Our drinks arrived promptly and shortly after the meals. The meals were absolutely delicious. Meats were so tender and the pies were full of tender beef with vegetables to match. Opted for mash instead of chips and glad since we saw the chip portion ordered on another table to be huge. Really ample and super food and finished with two desserts of Tiramisu and Stick toffee also delicious Great pub with great atmosphere don’t miss out on going here

Excellent stay, wonderful warm friendly welcome, modern, fresh room which was spotless, and spacious. Bed was extremely comfortable. Lovely village pub, the food was absolutely excellent, although starters and main course was a little overpriced. Imogen and the team were friendly, attentive and nothing was too much trouble.

Had the salmon with spaghetti, fairly tasty but probably a quarter of a salmon fillet with smallish portion of spaghetti and a few bits of veg for £22!!

The two pies we ordered had soggy bottoms and were not edible. The manager ( a female blond older woman) was very patronising and sarcastic and thought she was above everyone. Awful rude woman

Lovely place to stay. Nice quiet village. All the staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and tidy. Meals were excellent on an evening. But I would advise you to book a table as it did get busy. The breakfast is really nice. All in all, it's a really nice place to stay.

Superb little gem. Stayed for 2 nights, rooms were fresh, clean and warm. Beds very comfy, added bonus of tea & coffee facilities in the room. Ate there both nights we stayed, food was fresh and fantastic, staff were friendly and helpful. Can't recommend it enough if you're looking for a cosy home from home on the doorstep of some fantastic scenery and interesting towns and cities. Perfect location. 👌

Absolutely gorgeous little find. Staff are so welcoming and friendly. Myself and partner stayed and wanted somewhere peaceful we could relax for the evening and we did exactly that. The food is delicious and the room we stayed in was immaculate, the bed was so comfortable and the shower was lovely. Definitely planning to return.

I had an excellent one night stay at the Scotts Arms. When I checked-in I was greeted by a friendly member of staff who took me to my room. The room itself was modern, very clean and the bed was super comfortable. I had dinner at the Scotts Arms which was of high quality and reasonably priced. The pub serves a good selection of ales and beers on draft. Service was attentive and welcoming. In the morning I had an excellent full English breakfast before setting off. Overall, I was really impressed and would definitely come back.

We had a really enjoyable lunch in a traditional country inn. There was a wide choice of pub classics and a good specials board. The gluten free selection was more than adequate. The staff were friendly and professional and we will return.

We had booked for Christmas lunch and thoroughly enjoyed our food and the lovely atmosphere on a busy Saturday. The service was excellent and all the staff have a warm and friendly approach .

Been here for many years - however there seems to be one older short bobbed haired waitress who is very curt and abrasive - we arrived at the bar and she didn't even say hello - just looked at us - we announced ourselves and she just took us to the table - no welcome or anything! When taking our order again was very short with us no smiles just very direct and curt - she has definitely lowered the standard for service when you travel to eat here and get that appaulling welcome and especially when you are paying guests its not great experience and leaves you feeling uncomfortable- Ted needs to bring back Laura!! She was amazing...

When we arrived, ( having pre booked a couple of weeks ago) we were left waiting at the bar for a good 5 minutes and then not shown to our table and not asked if we wanted a drink. When we were eventually asked, the waitress was completely unfamiliar with the wine list - I ordered a bottle of no6 to make it easy but she still struggled. The meal was rushed, within 5 minutes the starter was in front of us - sadly the pate we ordered had come straight from the fridge, was still very cold and hard, difficult to eat . We sensed we were being rushed so hung on to our dirty plates as long as we could - within minutes of letting them go, our mains arrived, sirloin, sadly the garnish looked very tired and sad, steak was fine but for £29 we expected far more effort. We ordered some peppercorn sauce, it arrived but in a disposable plastic carton! The owner and his wife were absent - I suggest they need to review the suitability of some of the people who work for them in their absence as this standard will lose them good customers. Did we we see the chef roaring off on a scooter at around 9.30 as we were waiting for our taxi?…… Could this be why everything seemed so rushed?

Great Sunday lunch (roast beef and the venison special). A cosy atmosphere. Excellent staff, professional service, well priced. This is a lovely pub to walk from too if you’re feeling lively. Will be back soon.

We go to the Scotts arms every couple of weeks, the food and service is consistently spot on. The staff are lovely and friendly and excellent at their job, and we are always given a warm welcome. The homemade steak and ale pie is amazing as are the sunday roast dinners, cannot fault anything about the scotts arms. We have recommended to family and friends and they regularly come here too.

Lovely atmosphere great staff great food. Rooms are lovely. Can’t wait to come again. I read the other reviews before we visited but I’m afraid we couldn’t find fault with anything

We really enjoyed our visit on Sunday, it was very busy but there were enough staff on and food was very prompt coming out. They were also very friendly, loved it!

Nice pub, good range of drinks & food ok, bit limited choices on a Sunday but presumably most go for traditional roast. So we had Sunday lunch. The veg was nice, particularly red cabbage & decent size Yorkshire but meat was less than generous & lacking in flavour. And disappointed no cauliflower cheese (not even available to order as an extra). Have been before but not this year and was looking forward to a return visit but not as good as I remembered on any level & prices increased quite a bit since last year. If you are looking for value for money this probably not the place for you but if you want traditional looking pub &basic Sunday lunch albeit without much meat, it's a nice location.

We arrived early, but this wasn't a problem. We were met with smiles and a love welcome. Our room was spotless and excellent, everything was as it should be. We didn't go down to the bar on the night time as we had had a late lunch, so just stayed in the room. We did have breakfast from an extensive breakfast menu and it was delicious, if that is the standard of food offered I wish we had be able to go down on the evening. We will most certainly be back.

Had the Sunday lunch was so disappointed been previously and it was excellent the veg was so hard it wasn’t edible and I like them crunchy no one asked how the meal was and only came over when we asked for the bill shame as we lived this place on precious visits

Had not visited for some time, so met up here with a friend for a midweek lunch. Pleasant welcome and good range of choices on the menu. Very friendly and efficient service. Good to see that little had changed and the good quality food and service is still very much in evidence.
