A few weeks ago my brother and l walked in and waited patiently at the bar for 4 mins to be served while the bar man continue his conversation with a customer and so we walked out after being ignored.

Always good service friendly staff.

Not same quiz night ,since they got rid of Tam !!

Order was wrong multiple times, took over an hour to get the order Croutons was bigger than the chicken( it was like a kids size pieces) in the salad The apple crumble was full of apple with a dusting of crumble - non existent! Fresh orange was diluted juice Over all was i shambles!!

Good food, friendly and fast service. We sat outside beneath a shade which helped with social distancing. I would definitely return.

My experience at Scotties,was excelant,we asked if the soup was vegan and the waitress went to ask in the kithen,then the chef came out and yes the soap was vegan but I was amazed when he told me he could make a plant based meal for me,he'd had some idea's about vegan recipes ,my meal was delicious,a beatifull tart with perfect pastrie,and vegetables that were fresh and flavoursome, It was lovely to meet a chef who after 25 years experiance was still passionate about new challenges,it made my day,thanks

Steak Filling portion was few lumps of beef which was reheated in a microwave , no liquid, very very small portion , There's been a change whether it's a new chef or what, This place use to be good & consistence, I will not be ordering again

Great food lovely staff great atmosphere will be back again went for my twins 34th bday they really had a great time went back a week later for lunch with my daughter which we really enjoyed the food again staff always check to make sure you have everything or top up off drinks

Typical Belhaven pub (the Scottish branch of Greene King). The restaurant menu looks interesting, but I was "only here for the beer." I usually drink the Abbot, Calledonian Deuchers is the alternative. There is a third, but in my experience, it's never on.

This was a first visit for us and likely to be the last. We arrived at around 6.30 pm and were told to delay ordering food for 10 minutes as the kitchen was busy. When I went to order drinks and food ten minutes later, I was told food was no longer being served. I said I had been asked to delay placing the order so after checking the staff member took our order. We were told none of the craft beers listed on the board etc were available. The meals were okay but nothing special and not too keenly priced but my son's arrived without garlic bread and we did not have the menus still at the table to double check that it should have been included. The kitchen anyway was closed by then. I checked the menus on line the next day and the pasta meal should have come with garlic bread so I contacted the manager via the on line address and asked if we could get a portion of garlic bread at our next visit when we ordered as we had missed out last time when it should have been included. The response from the Manager, Susan, was that she had no idea why we were told the craft beers were not available as they were. We ordered a pint of Bellhaven instead. As for the garlic bread being missing, she simply said if advised this would have been rectified at the time. I am not sure how that would have been possible if the kitchen was closed and, as we were the last meal of the night, the chef probably would have remembered that the garlic bread had been omitted less than 24 hours before on the last order of the night. It is just treating customers with contempt when a manager cannot provide any answers when a customer provides feedback and the manager is given an opportunity to explain what happened and rectify the error. It is their loss as we would have provided repeated custom with one member of the family new to the area but there are plenty of other places to dine out and get a drink in the area.

I love the Scottie. I discovered it 3 years ago when I moved to Scotland. The food is excellent with a great choice. They offer good gins, wine, and beer. I really love the very friendly atmosphere . I recommend it. 😍

Gone massively downhill. Used to be an ok bistro pub. Kitchen now closing randomly at a different time from the website, staff couldn't care less.

Very cozy and not as crowded as everything in the city center. Simple food but very tasty. Very good prices.

The haggis and black pudding fritters are both incredible, a genius version of both dishes really. And the black peppercorn sauce that comes with one should be offered with everything that comes out of the kitchen. Additionally, the selection of ales is top notch and the service is great.

Husband had his bag stolen from inside the beer garden today, so there’s no chance we’ll be coming back if that’s the type of clientele. Luckily nothing valuable was inside at the time but we’re monitoring its location anyway, due to it having tracking, so that’s fun

Great night at quiz night, Spoilt by ronag,s628, company bring in food from the chippy next door . When informed that they would have eat the food outside they got abusive towards the barperson who had asked them to eat outside. At no point was the barperson(claire) abusive towards them or as stated to her fellow barperson. , And as 2 off the 4 persisted in eating the food inside, they where only told that she would not be serving them herself that evening . If anyone was abusive it was the customer. Please take note ,the management on this replied review .

It's not gastro and it's not hip but I'd happily go back for the food. I had a burger and chunky chips. The burger was good but the chips were a little bit undercooked. Great service.

We are not regulars, but do frequent this place, when we can and have done so for many years. The hospitality and welcome has always been good. We met at 7pm, for drinks and some supper. Unbeknown to us, the kitchen now closes at 7pm (it didn't before) and so no food could be provided. Being hungry, we asked the loveliest of bartenders, an Australian, if we could bring in a couple of light bites, from the chip shop, next door. He said that we could and obviously, hadn't been trained otherwise. We moved to a discreet table at the front of the pub and began to pick on our supper. Like a whirling dervish, Claire...I'm not sure what her position is, came at us to demand we stop and take it outside, which we did. Let's just say that her attitude, customer relations and language, was somewhat lacking. Furthermore, she not only continued to give us grief, but openly reprimanded our bartender. Unacceptable !

Had to put 60 minutes late because I couldn’t find 2 and a half hours in the drop down box. Ordered at 5:30pm arrived at 7:45pm and the food was cold. Had to heat it all up in the microwave. The tracker didn’t update until after their closing time when it changed to preparing? I appreciate they are busy but the food could have at least arrived hot if it’s just come straight from kitchen. The restaurant is only about 15 minutes away from me too. Food tasted nice after it was reheated in microwave

food came after first delivery time was pushed back by (first estimate 1820-1840 but arrived 1848)but as just along the road not surprising it came reasonably on time, though according to Just Eat driver was at restaurant for quite sometime - how was the food? you ask - hmmm haddock pal had no salad or tartare sauce and the scampi was cold and strangely watery - macaroni was a complete rip off, £10,99 for a small foil container 2/3 full with very bland pasta and sauce (had it had more than a fleeting sighting of cheese?) and again no salad.........£25.94 for the food - defo not value for money if you are expecting to eat nothing else for your dinner.......

We were a party of about 20 and the staff could not have been more helpful. The food looked and tasted absolutely delicious. Highly recommend Scottie’s we will definitely be back. Thank you for helping to make it a great night.

Wow, how friendly is this pub, just up here on a short break from Redcar and this pub got recommended to me. So glad I listened, Susan, the manager served me and I couldn't have asked for better service, the Tapas menu is delicious, and I even got a £5.00 Scottieland voucher off my next meal, love it😀. Everyone here has been so friendly as well, I'm definitely coming back 👍

Great place for a beer, service is very good too. The food wasnt that great in my opinion.

We have eaten and drank here on more than several occasions. We have always been warmly greeted and accepted by not only staff but by regular customers. The food is home cooked, good, wholesome pub grub and value for money. Highly recommend this great place.

Delicious definitely Order again

Went for a dinner/disc with 7 off my friends, the food was delicious we all had different meals and not 1 complaint. The staff were so helpful and happy to serve us x thank you, the DJ was great and could also sing , which was an added bonus

This is a good old pub. The grub is great. The drinks are not expensive and the Rugby, football and other sports are addictive. There no pretentiousness just good and honest.

Scottie bar was not the problem it was just eat, 2nd time this week there has been a problem. I have waited nearly 2 hours for my food which is cold, not a bit of heat in it at all. The food looks perfectly good, I have eaten this before and was lovely. The issue was delivery not the food.

Very quiet Monday night. Really good coffee. Made it for us even though not serving it at that time.

Nice and warm and cosy. Nice friendly relaxed atmosphere. Staff were welcoming and friendly. Great choice on the menu. Fresh produce served on hot plates with hearty portions. Everyone cleared their plates - was delicious and perfectly cooked. Compliments to the Chef. Would definitely recommend. 😊

Stopped here for some drinks and food with friends whilst exploring Edinburgh. Great pub, we loved the food and the fact that we could order multiple small dishes to share. Loved the haggis neeps and tatties, overall the food was fresh and fabulous.

Placed an order online, order was rejected and a menu item was removed from their menu to get me to pay more for each item individually.

Meat, peas and potatoes were lukewarm. Meat was a bit tough and had too much pepper or something like that in it - not up to the usual standard - I was very disappointed. Did heat it up in the microwave, but ended up dumping it as it was not the usual standard

Very slow service know busy with Xmas lunches had such long wait for starter’s well over hour .Main course Luke warm Marconi had no flavour bland such long wait for main courses to come out , same for desserts

Here with friends, was very lively to say least. BIT DIFFICULT TO HAVE A CONVERSATION. But good to be together ❤ 😌

This is the second time I’ve ordered from the Scottie, both times I’ve ordered their steak pie, chips and peas and both times it’s been absolutely delicious, plenty of tender meat in the steak pie and the gravy is really tasty. I would definitely recommend it. Also there is no fat or gristle on the meat.

Exceptional! Truly outstanding. Best fish and chips I’ve had in I can’t remember how long. Turned up hot. Chips never travel well so the cover of the fish kept them good and hot as the meal wasn’t padded out with too many. Delivery driver was early, even in inclement weather. Fish looked and tasted as fresh as if I’d just caught it off the boat. Will 100% be ordering from you for now on. CUSTOMER TIPS: The salad dressing - never tell what’s in it because it tastes so naughty; a splash more would make the salad even more of a highlight. The stack of sauces in the box were grand, add a half lemon and a large packet of salt and vinegar (as these aren’t options available on Just-Eat) to round them out and meet every taste. Thanks for the glorious meal, really made my day!

The food was great, however the delivery was abysmal, driver did not go to corrrct address, phoned to ask where i was as no houses at my address!! Even after i confirmed my address he was adamant he was there, which he was not. He had a major bad attitude on the phone and I ended up hanging up. Whilst trying to find details to make a complaint on Just eat, he phone back to say he was now on his way to me and would be 4 minutes, 16 minutes later he arrived, still with a bad attitude, and the food at this point was cold. I ended up heating in microwave, pasta was fine, but chips ended up soggy.

Steak pie & chips after the service charge & delivery charge £16.49? No where near worth it, the steak pie is a very small portion & it’s a frozen one at that, very pricey for what u get.

On visiting scotties for the 1st time in 3 years because covid pandemic. We found one of the bar staff who had been working there for many of the previous years visits greeted us like old friends. To my amazement she remembered my beer I like & the other person dietary dislikes
