The oldest bar in Glasgow! Very typical. We feel that it is a place for regulars. No TV, only an arcade machine: the bar has remained authentic. Very friendly staff! A wide choice of beers and whiskey. To eat, there are only 3 pizzas, but they are good.

The Scotia Bar in Glasgow is a historic gem, recommended by locals. The history of this place is obvious from the moment you walk in with the dollars hanging from the bar ceiling and the worn wood bar. They have a great selection of whisky, and I recommend trying the dram of the month, or check with one of thethe friendly bartenders who are always ready with a great recommendation. If you have a case of the munchies, order the “Pizza & Pint” deal. It’s a limited pizza menu, but does what it needs to do. There are regular live music performances, so plan according, or just show up for a surprise.

As many of you will know, this is one of Glasgow's classic pubs. Very traditional, very old. Low ceiling, crooked walls, somewhat small seating areas. However the atmosphere is outstanding. Lots of locals. Lots of friendly banter. When it's busy service can be a challenge. They only have two bartenders. But this is an essential stop on your pub journey.

The Scotia is and always has been an absolute institution of the city of Glasgow. You're always sure to find the most colourful characters of the city in this beautiful little bar. Considering it's 233 year history it has remarkably maintained a wonderful standard of service and reputation in the city. The Bar staff are always so welcoming to locals and tourists alike. They are always happy to offer recommendations on drinks and the local area. Vicky in particular is always so attentive and a wonderful ambassador for the city. If you're ever in Glasgow this bar is an absolute must visit. Long live the Scotia Bar ❤️💪🏻

We liked this pub so much we came back the following evening. The day bartender, cannot say enough about her. She was great to talk to, explained some of Scotlands culture, was happy to make some dinner suggestions and great conversation. The pub is old and love they kept the rustic feel. Other patrons were so nice and made us feel welcome! Husband loved his on tap Guinness and another brand the bartender recommended. I don’t like beer and she recommended VK (very similar to Smirnoff ice ) which was very good!

In general, a cool pub, the bartenders are very nice and efficient, the atmosphere is really an old pub. There’s not a lot of space, but somehow there was enough for everyone) there were a lot of people, everyone was friendly and everything was fine. I didn’t have enough beer that I love, I’ll introduce it, but it’s very nice that the guys suggest and let you try so that you can decide - it’s great. In general, I recommend it. Awesome authentic Scottish bar, we went on a Thursday evening where there was live folk music which was a great experience. The bar itself has a great atmosphere. However, the same blonde bartender that other people on Google have been complaining about for some time now was also quite rude. We came in asking for our table as I made a reservation on the website (which in hindsight shouldn’t be possible as she told us there weren’t any reservations). This bartender was quite aggressive and rude and told us to just sit down as they ‘obviously’ don’t do reservations, despite the fact one of the tables by the entrance literally was reserved for a large group. She also said they don’t serve food so we should go somewhere else for that, but clearly they do as other people on here have said. Great bar but I suggest the management team look into this as there have been so many complaints about her, she was quite hostile and trying to get us to leave, maybe because we’re not Scottish? But strange nonetheless

„The Scotia” in Glasgow is a true gem and a must-visit for anyone wanting to experience the authentic charm of a traditional Scottish pub. Oh my word, good luck trying to spend any money at this delightful pub. The Tennent's pints were £2 and a splash of the Malt of the Month, Bruichladdich, was £2.99. We visited here three consecutive nights while staying at a hotel that was walking distance away along the River Clyde. Different music every night, some traditional and some rockin'. Mostly the same hustling bar crew. By Friday night, the crowd was so large we sometimes found ourselves standing outside, which is allowed up until 10 p.m. Even with the larger crowd, bar service was never slow and the experience was just as pleasant. I'm sad this pub is 6,000 km from my home!

A blonde bar tender with a tattoo on her neck made me feel very unwelcome. Me and my friends all entered meeting a very hostile welcome, we were all ask for ID which we gave happily, I ordered one pint of beer. After over an hour of nursing my beer i decided to go back to the beer to get another. I was told that i, personally, was “too drunk” and wasn’t to be served anymore. I took this on the chin as not to ruin any of my friends nights. Not minutes later she came to our table to tell us we all had to leave because of myself personally. This is obviously a personal attack and she had a vendetta against me. I had one singular beer the whole night and she made my whole friend group leave the bar. Looking back as soon as we walked in this woman didn’t like us as she made her colleague serve us and she clearly didn’t like me, maybe because I had tattoos and a funny hair colour, assuming I was a student. I was made to feel very unwelcome and was victimised by this witch of a bartender. I hope in future this bar hires workers that are far more welcoming. This stings even more as I recommended all my friends to this bar for a nice time to be met with such a hostile member of staff. She truly picked on me for no reason. I’ve lived here for six years but would certainly not recommend to any visiting tourist. This is the first time I’ve ever felt necessary to make a review that’s how strongly i feel about the way I’ve been treated.

Been here probably 3-4 times. I know Costa Coffee has a popular image around here. But honestly, they can’t even brew a latte properly. The milk has no taste and the latte feels absolutely bland. I could literally see the barista using the same milk (not cleaning the pitcher) which he frothed for the previous coffee he made. Just go for an Americano if you really need a coffee in these big coffee franchises/chains
