I initially left a critical review because of problems with the food not being warm across three out of the four courses that we got during their Scottish Versus night a couple of months ago. However, staff took our complaints seriously and we subsequently received a refund plus free tickets for a future event. That is excellent customer service and made it clear to me that the manager, Alex, is very keen that his customers have the best experience. So we went back last night for the Italian Versus event and they had clearly fixed whatever the original problem was. Food was terrific (my wife said it was the best osso buco she’s ever had!), piping hot and served quickly by the table staff. At an event like this where everyone is getting the same dishes at the same time, it means the staff are run off their feet but they did a great job. And our table never became cluttered, as the staff were always efficient at clearing away empty glasses and plates. Definitely the best waiting staff I’ve come across, always smiling and friendly no matter how busy it got. I’m delighted with how they reacted to our original complaint and how they’ve shown that they can put on a terrific night of food and drink. I’m already looking forward to the next event in November :-)

Can't comment on food didn't have any. The beer however was excellent. Its a bit of a barn but okay, the staff are friendly and efficient. Happy to return anytime.

Took my Dad here for a 69th birthday treat. The service was so amazing, I didn't get the girls name but she made our day. Let us try diffirent beers and explained them all. We did the steak dishes and they were great.

Excellent, what a find. Beer is fab, try the Caribbean cask red ale, oh my word. The food is delicious; had the lunch menu sandwiches (which come with a free half!), with a side of loaded fries - think Scottish poutine. And cheery, helpful staff. Wish we'd found this before the last day of our Glasgow trip.

Booked for a large event (25 people) on a Saturday night, service from Mhairi and the team was brilliant and there was a great atmosphere. Would highly recommend for large bookings.

Excellent service. Can’t fault them at all went above and beyond. On arrival on a busy Friday night, we hadn’t booked a table, they found us somewhere to sit and upgraded us to a booth. All staff provided recommendations for beer to drink and our food and drink came quickly every time. and the food was excellent!!! Very friendly and accommodating. They all deserve a payrise.

That's fine for two or three quick beers or to test the varieties. I wouldn't want to spend an entire evening there, it's too uncomfortable for me.

The two girls working were super nice I can't fault them. On the other hand the steak was inedible. The fries were great and the hispi cabbage was delicious. The steak sauce was also flavoursome. I ordered my steak pink as the options are pink or well done. The "pink" was raw, unchewable and spat every mouthful out. Then the well done I ordered in place of the "pink" to see if it was edible came out after a long wait which was also very very tough. Cheap bad quality meat that should be stewed not served as a "steak". An honest review from a chef with 17 years experience

Had a nice lunch we had the chicken burger along with the beef burger. The onion rings were very tasty. Had the Caribbean cask ale which was really nice. Service was very good.

This place is very cozy, the waiters are super polite and attentive to the customer, the place is super clean and very beautiful. PS: they accept dogs inside

First time visit on Saturday 10th , my friend and I had a beer , the ladies wanted a wine , was served by a manager ( she told us that for some reason ) … what wine do you have ? , “ red or white “ we asked for some more info on the white … she it seemed grudgingly answered “ a Pinot and 2 sauvignons … your fed up with our questions aren’t you “ a wee bit “ she replied . We decided on a bottle of Sauvignon …. “ we don’t have a bottle “ two large glasses then “ we don’t have enough for two large glasses , only mediums “ … ok then we’ll have them , she put them in 2 measuring pourers , had a tad left in bottle “ we asked , you don’t have enough left for another glass , why don’t you top up the glasses with the remains , “ can’t do that “ she replied …. Nothing to stop you we said . Clearly don’t cater for wine drinkers , only beer …….. the whole wine experience was a struggle whilst being served by someone who didn’t want to be there …. A wee bit more training required in customer skills , and starting with a smile would be nice . First & Last ☹️

We really enjoyed it here, came for steak frites for £20. A 1/3 of a pint of Original, a chef's starter, ours was veg pakora, a steak & one refill steak, unlimited fries & peppercorn sauce. I had the mushroom option which is slightly cheaper but I didn't like the sauce that came with it, I put peppercorn sauce on the second lot. The frites were devine. Really enjoyed your Mango IPA. The vegetable pakora starter would have been better with pakora sauce. Those that got steak said it was cooked to perfection. Nice staff. The toilet is down a lot of stairs so if you have mobility issues like me do yourself a favour & use the disabled loo.

What a brilliant lunch and drinks with great welcome and customer service throughout. Burgers were very good and the beer was excellent as expected. I will definitely be returning soon and a big thumbs up to Cameron for his attention throughout.

Charged my partner twice for one round, weren't able to offer a void receipt as their "machine had broken" but they were sure it had only been charged once (they were wrong) Have since ignored all communications attempting to get a refund. Doesn't really matter how good the food and drink is if they rob you

Lovely staff and great quality beers. I experienced American and German tourists all having a nice time outside which was great. Just beware though if you need to venture downstairs to the mens toilets. The men's toilets were the worst smelling toilets I've ever been in. As they don't have running water in the large urinals I was surprised to see the floor covered in what can only be pee. So come on, such a lovely atmosphere inside but don't put off people wanting to come back because you basically have stinking toilets.

Great beer selection. The Gunnpowder IPA stands up with the best IPA’s from the US. But……The best onion rings I’ve had EVER ANYWHERE!!

Was first time here yesterday. I've come back today for the second day running food was excellent. Service was very good and was looked after very well. Just happens. I do like the lager here. What a bonus.we had the steak frites and you can have bottomless garlic fries and extra steak 👍 really did enjoy it

Was shown to our table at 4.15 by a great server who found us a second chair and cleaned the table, all good but at 5.45 a notice was put on our table saying it was reserved from 18.30, asked the server what was happening and was informed that a booking had been taken explained that we had been there for 90 minutes but server said it was a management issue. Asked to see said manager, when manager appeared I again explained that we had been there now for nearly two hours and that a booking had been taken on our table affectively asking us to leave. Manager said that they were very busy and that they would try and find us a table. Not good enough we had the table were spending money at the bar and they just evicted us, never have we been treated in such a unprofessional manner by a hospitality team. Never leave a bad review as it could impact on the business in these hard times but this is just awful. Will not be back, said manager needs training on how to run a establishment.

If you are looking at these reviews because you are thinking of going then stop reading and go now, and have yourself/selves the delicious steak frites deal. It features a glass of their own strong beer, an appetiser of the day and then the steak and garlic fries experience. When you are sitting there with an empty plate in front of you the waiter offers you seconds. Yup! The picture is my second serving which is the same as the first one was. The bar is quite loud as it has a tall ceiling and solid walls. We were sitting at the back which was quieter than in the midst of things.

Pints were great, staff excellent but unfortunately had to mark you down on the inability to cater for my friend who is allergic to all 57 of Heinz varieties. There are other prominent ketchup and mayonnaise suppliers who would protect you from this disfavour.

Nice beer selection, but £6 for a small bowl of stale chips is pretty extortionate (apart from the £5 slaw, this was the cheapest side, and we had to order food since we had children with us).

Food amazing we had thd rrgillable steak and chips option, service fab ... we were in late afternoon and left around 6/6.30pm place quiet initially however was becoming busier when we left. Think would be more of an atmosphere in the evening

Booked the Steak Frites offer - dynamite 👌🏻 Disappointed you only get a schooner as part of it rather than a full pint but hard to complain when you're getting steak Frites x 2 then unlimited Frites n sauce after that.

After visiting I&G Ashton lane and having an amazing experience we decided to try the city centre bar. Service was abysmal. Servers couldn’t care less. Or frites were over done and brick hard. Had to be redone. No atmosphere in the bar at all. Will stick to the west end from now on. Won’t be back in. Don’t waste your time, and money. Really disappointed.

On my first visit everything did seem okay? Wasn't till my second visit till I realised how much of snobby they can be? Was turned away for no reason . Apparently if your face doesn't fit your ######😏

This night night was far from class and as soon as you walked you could smell the putrid smell of literal jobby and the chicken wing don’t get me started on the chicken wings it was like eating sand paper it was that dry but there was this glimmer of hope in the chicken burger which was ok and the bill was extortionate

Huge portions of tasty food. The day we visited there was a taproom tour, overloud musician and rugby on too. Each of these are good but three competing made for very noisy surroundings unable to follow any one never mind 3!

My first ever Innis and Gunn Original was approximately 10 years ago, at a hotel in Kirkcudbright, and it was an excellent draught pint. Since then, I’ve enjoyed many bottles too. On a rare visit to Scotland, and with an hour to spare when changing stations in Glasgow, I went enthusiastically into the Innis and Gunn city centre taproom. This was mid-afternoon on a weekday. It was almost empty, and rather stark, but never mind, I thought, I’m only here for a good pint. Well, the pint I got was beginning to go off, and at a pricey £7.90, I left vowing not to return. And I wish I’d checked other TripAdvisor reviews before going to this taproom, when, evidently, there are other decent pubs in the centre of Glasgow. So, it was disappointing, and has put me off visiting any Innis and Gunn’s outlets.

I had a little bit of time before catching a train to London so popped in for a quick drink. Wasn't particularly busy but it was a Sunday afternoon. Having had a heavy weekend, I was a bit run down and my voice croaky. The lovely woman who served me not only told me a little bit about the beers but also offered to make me a hot honey and lemon drink. That was such a lovely thing to do so hats off to her. Alongside my hot drink (no charge obviously), I had a Gunpowder IPA which hit the spot. I couldn't stay long but I will definitely return next time I'm in Glasgow. Thanks for looking after a weary traveller!

Love this place generally and especially for watching Six Nations, great service, beer and food. Atmosphere is great for Six Nations but quieter in the week which is great for dinner.

Steak Fries night was sooo good. Great service, great food.. I was so stuffed. The Beer that came with it was really really nice with a nice whisky aftertaste. - I also had a Coconut Bourbon stout that really hit the spot. Will be coming again

Bought the Valentines steak frites deal, small haggis starter with a small glass of Original Innes & Gunn, steak frites + second helpings & bottle of prosecco for £50. Absolutely stuffed, really good deal and hope that they continue the offer 🙏🏻

We had a late lunch on a Monday so the place was quiet, but the staff and service were excellent.The beer selection was very good and small samples were available if required. We both had the steak frites and found that be an excellent choice. The steaks done exactly as we like them. would definitely use again when in Glasgow.

This was a birthday gift, bought on Groupon for my mum. She said that the atmosphere in general was nice and looked lovely. Food looked good too, but they never ate there as had dinner plans. But I was really disappointed to hear that she felt very uncomfortable being asked two separate times to prove she had paid to be there. Once is fair enough, but I personally booked the experience and asked all what would be needed when arriving, I forwarded over all I was told would be needed and this turned out to be wrong. I had to call later in the evening after she'd been called twice for proof of payment to give details, which was completely understandable but it is disappointing to know it was my parents that received the brunt of this and felt very awkward. Communication is key.

Nice drinks and friendly staff. But the burgers are absolute rubbish. Basically a Big Mac, but with worse chips and £10 more expensive Burgers look great (see pic), but the meat is awful. Very thin, flavourless. For £16 it is incredibly overpriced and poor quality.

Despite having pre-booked a table, we left without being served. The bar staff completely ignored us, even though the bar was not particularly busy. The door staff were very polite and friendly though.

Popped in for a last minute bite to eat and drink on a Saturday night and I’m glad we did. Staff, food and vibe are fantastic and will definitely be back.

We enjoyed the Steak Frites deal on a Wednesday night - unlimited garlic and parmesan fries, two steaks (if you can manage) cooked pink or well done, a starter (toast with smoked chicken and cowboy sauce) and a 1/3 of the Original beer with whisky notes. Very good value deal. The place was very busy so booking is recommended.

Food absolutely sensational! We went for the steak frites Wednesday deal and it did not disappoint, delicious and big portions. We got a couple of sides too and they were excellent. The service could have been a bit better, but so worth a visit for the food!

Good taproom in the centre of Glasgow, a bit noisy when full and not as good as the Ashton Lane taproom but still worth a visit if in Glasgow. Had food as well and it was very good.

We’ve been here many times before - it’s a fab friendly place. Staff go above and beyond to ensure you’re having the best time. Beers are awesome - food tasty. Lively without being rowdy. Traveller tip: licensing requires you to purchase a meal if visiting with a child :-) Thank you to the staff and management who went above and beyond to ensure we had the best Christmas afternoon.

Went for the Wednesday steak and frites, definitely worth a score for two steaks way peopocorn sauce and unlimited fries and the wee chefs haggis sourdough mash was tasty to , all washed down with a glass of there fine in house brewed lager. Music and staff were all pretty much spot on especially the guy in the bar whom got my first drink 💪

Booked in for an early dinner and drinks before heading out to the hydro for an event on a Saturday. Took advantage of the 30% off offer. Staff on the bar were friendly and efficient enough. Table wasn't cleaned properly as there were some bits of food smeared across it. The table itself is really uneven so did nearly dump my drink over myself a few times. Ordered some of the starter/small plates and a special. Food came out fast, was really tasty and portions were good sizes. Unlike the bar staff the floor staff were difficult to get service from and a few times when wanting to order something they were all by the laptop at end of the bar by the table chatting. Would advise not trying to get served at shift change. Food definitely warrants a second visit, even if service isn't the best.

Husband and son went to Brewery School and also had a meal and drinks. They both had a great day and told me that all the drinks were excellent as was their lunch which was included in the price. All in all a good experience. Just hope their barrels of beer are worth drinking in three weeks' time!

Love it in here. It's a great looking pub with some of the best beer I've ever tasted. Their Ossian 4.1% oat meal stout is highly recommended. It's the best stout I've tasted, and I'm getting on a bit. The beer isn't cheap but it's certainly worth treating yourself.

Great tap room with the beat staff and service. We come here fairly often for casual drinks and catch ups. We've been for the versus menus which are fantastic value and great fun. Brew school with Alice was fantastic can't wait to pick up our beer! Steak frites night as a perfect midweek treat! Baked camembert and the mac and cheese are awesome ! Cannot fault the service here from staff ( Philly, Mhari, Cameron and Phoebe to name a couple! ) The beers are fantastic always a great selection to suit tastes. And lots of cute dogs to pet mist days

When visited it took them 20 minute dto serve us with no one about, the place was filthy with all tables full of old food drinks and further... The one in the other part of Glasgow was amazing and could learn a thing or two

We booked for the steak frites offer on a Wednesday evening. We arrived a bit early and got a couple of pints. The place was quite quiet. When I went up for our next round we were still early for our booking but I asked the staff anyway and was told our reserved table was ready. A very nice staff member showed us over and talked us through the deal then offered to put our food order through so that as soon as the offer kicked in at 6pm our food would start coming out. Snacks came before 6 and were excellent, along with a sample (1/3 pint) of the very tasty original beer which had lovely whisky notes. When the steaks came they were excellent and with generous serving of peppercorn sauce included. The staff serving the sauce couldn't have been nicer offering to come back if we needed more. The garlic butter and parmesan chips are tremendous. We quickly finished our first lot then took them up on the offer of a second steak. Both were cooked pink and perfect for my liking. I have recommended this deal to others and will continue to promote it. Please bring this to the West end branch. Excellent food, staff service and by the time we were done the place was jumping so recommend booking.

Met people here for a drink. Not my choice, I'm intolerant to almost all craft beer. I thought they might have a tap of something else on, but no. Every beer, even bottled, was craft. So, a couple of glasses of red wine and I moved on.

My girlfriend and I always have a great time here. We've done the steak versus event, and the rugby championship. Last night we attended preview of the new Steak Frites night -- highly recommended! Eat all the steaks, get more chips, try all the amazing beers, and most of all talk to all of the amazing staff, who are always smiling and ready to help. Just a great place for an always great evening.

We came here for a beer tasting experience and it was brilliant! The beers were delicious and our guide was excellent!! Cameron gave lots of interesting information about each beer, he was so friendly and welcoming and really went out of his way to make our beer tasting experience fun and exciting. Love the fact you can book a table quickly online for this place. Have now been a couple of times and all the staff we’ve been encountered have been super friendly and provided brilliant service. Great selection of drinks and fairly priced for a city centre bar.

Great beer, nice service, lively atmosphere. Only had burgers to eat but they were good. I will be back just for the beer alone! Only disappointment is the quality of the gents toilet, it was early evening so should have been better/cleaner.

Lovely place for lunch. Really good vegetarian burger & tasty, salty, crispy chips. Student deals available (£3.95 for a pint). Modern interior, super friendly staff. Recommended!
