4 visits this week food was always fresh, good quality & good value with generous portions. I found some of the previous comments about the staff unfair as they are efficient & considerate, even getting people to bunch up so people are sheltered from the rain outside. Looking forward to visiting again on my next visit to the area. :-)

Possibly the rudest lady I have ever met in my life, food was adequate at best

People seem to come from miles around to get food here. Their fish and chips are really good!

Moreish chips, they're doing something right. The lady serving was grumpy but I don't think it's anything personal.

Extremely rude women (presume owner) taking the orders. Could not understand what we were asking for. Asked for a mini fish and chips to be wrapped separately and she point blank refused. Why ? What difference would it have made to her ? Will never go in there again. Don't give them your custom. Vile woman should not be in customer based job if she can't be pleasant and accommodating to customers.

Absolutely disgusted with the service from this place. Pre-ordered in person an hour ahead of collection as it looked so busy and we thought it may help the owners only to be served sub standard scraps... and that's an understatement! Beyond terrible, avoid at all costs!

Had fish chips and mushy peas from here the other night and it was the tastiest fish and chips I’ve had for a long time the portion was more than enough I will definitely be calling in again

I would love to know where the people who have said this is 1 star usually get their chippy. We got fish & chips, steak pudding and chips, curry sauce, gravy, small sausage and 2 cans of pop for £23. All excellent and would recommend it in a heartbeat!

Pretty good food but a bit overpriced and can struggle to serve people in a reasonable timescale at peak times

Stopped with the kids, they take card payment which is good, good portion sizes. Good place to stop after black rock. Wasn’t cheap, but I was happy paying what we did for fish.

Ordered fish n chips...only wanted sm portion of chips so asked for a cone size. Cooked to order and a large portion for the money...£8.50. The chips were scrummy...the fish was fresh , but the batter was not crispy as I'd prefer. However for the money it was fantastic value. The staff including the grumpy woman (she's not...she's just doing her job in a hot environment with probably some rude customers often!!) were all great and my order was ready in 5 mins. I think previous reviews have been misleading...this is good food in a place where there's not a lot on offer. I am staying at greenacres but their reviews for fish n chips are always bad so will not buy from haven. Hope this helps you choose where to buy

Stayed at the haven round the corner. Came here instead of the chippy on site after seeing the ridiculous prices they have. Really nice food, quick service and friendly staff. we were so impressed we went a couple of times during our stay! Would definitely recommend if you’re staying at the haven, really easy to get to and a no brainer.

Excellent fish and chips and chicken and chips. All cooked fresh. Very good portion size. Good value for money. Would use again.

Decent chippie, we all enjoyed the large variety of stuff we ordered. But service is slow, the woman you order from is very glum, & the curry sauce is bland.

Brilliant food, only minutes away from the drive on beach where you can sit and eat.

Try to visit when possible. Decent food with average pricing. Much better than the chip shop on Green acres and better priced

Been staying at a caravan park down the road. The chip shop on site was shocking quality and expensive. Thought we'd try here. Food was great and quick service considering it seemed busy.

Worst burger ever. Patte had no taste or smell i thrown almost whole thing to the bin. Unbelievable for the price. At least the lettuce was fresh and fish and chips was edible

We’ve been coming here on and off for 16 years, the food has always been top notch. Considering there are only 2-3 running it at some incredibly busy times, everything has been well cooked and the order always perfect.

Worse and most expensive fish & chips I've had in all my life !!! Not to mention the service. The woman who served me never smiled and never spoke. It felt like you were in a concentration camp ! When I took my Fish & Chips home, the fish wasn't cooked properly and the chips were hard and tasted sweet. Only afterwards I realised I had payed £10.80 for Fish & Chips which were inedible. I know prices have gone up but £6.50 for a fish and a whopping £4.30 for chips. Writing this in-between throwing up. My advice is AVOID AND GO ELSEWHERE !!

After a long drive down to Black Rock Sands, we thought it would be lovely to have chips on the way home. Sadly, what a rude and unfriendly woman we encountered serving. I am partially sighted and have slight hearing loss. Her lack of patience and manners regarding the "much overpriced" menu was not good at all. If it wasn't for my partner, I would have walked out. The food was really overpriced for what we got. Pie, small chips and drink X 2 = £15.00!! We really paid for convenience shame we didn't have enough left to pay for service with a smile. Will definitely return to the beach, but will drive straight past that shop! Here's the tip... service with a smile goes a long way 🙂

Friendly staff, quick fresh tasty food.

The only reason four stars are given it's because as it's located in The Quiet Village other than those people in nearby holiday and caravan parks there isn't a great deal of business so the hours of business are usually between 4pm and 8 pm and everything is pretty much cooked to order. There are advantages to this and that is that you always get fresh food and it's hot the disadvantage is that you do have to wait for most things. The qualitie of the food is very good indeed and if you want to Great suggestion other than taking it back to your caravan or holiday chalet why not drive onto BlackRock Sands beach and watch the sunset there's no better way to eat your fish and chips at the seaside from the warmth of your car lol. The raw fish and chip shops in nearby campsites but nowhere near as good as this

Overall not bad although the prices were definitely seaside prices almost putting a takeaway in line with a sit down meal but the chips were nice the fish was good but they did seem to be cooking everything to order which is why it's only four stars. Obviously a busy times this causes a five minute wait. Best advice is to get your chips and drive down to Black lots and a quarter of a mile away and watch the sunset, fabulous

We got our tea from here this evening. The food was great and would definately recommend it if you are in the area. However, as others have commented the staff could be a bit more cheerful. If, like us, you are staying at Greenacres it is only a five minute drive away. However make sure you have cash on you as it is a cash only establishment.

Yummy fish and chips!! Curry sauce one of the best yet! Fresh food, and batter was nice and not soggy! A lot of food and not bad prices for location They only accept cash, so make sure you’re prepared!

Called in this week lovely chips£3.70 for large chips x 4 plus curry£1.50 per tub x 2, £17.80. They only take cash but next door is a free cash machine for withdrawal. Staff not friendly but not rude. Had our chips on the beach.

Cracking fish and chips. Cheaper than on site and was cooked fresh. Cash only so make sure you take money. Saves you a drive in to portmadog

It's a shame really because these are really nice chips. The womans attitude was atrocious and they were incredibly rude. Also they got our order completely wrong.

Notice it says ‘Fish’ not cod. …. Smelled off too me. Charge you five pounds and feed you Coley. Even the dog spat it out. Vile.

If you are camping at Black Rock Sands Area or staying in that area don't bother dragging yourself to Porthmadog for Fish and Chips as these are just as good. Cash only when I was there. The shop next door has a cash machine. Can get busy.

Visited because my partner and I were staying at a campsite around the corner. Great chips and mushy peas. Vegetarian so I cant comment on their other products, but the chips were spot on. Good portions for the price, after having once we had to come back the next day for a second helping. Would visit again if I was in the area.

No review of the food as its cash only and no working cash machine nearby. Who the fudge has cash in 2021??? Had to settle for soup bought from the shop next door... Paid for with contactless

Well what can I say changed hands over the years but I remember as a little lad going for chips there when I was 8 years old .

Food was OK. But they have a funny way of doing things You can join the cue, which the were a few people waiting. You can bypass the cue of waiting people, join the front of the cue, shout your order through the front door. Which bypasses everyone waiting in the cue and that's OK according to the lady inside. Apparently that's OK because there is a sign outside...the sign doesn't say push to the front of the cue and bypass all other people waiting.

Food was alright but my god the employees were miserable. Was quiet awkward actually as they looked like we made them go out of their way just by offering some fish and chips. Will probably venture and try else where next time.

I found staff pleasant although person in front of me had an altercation with the lady 🤷 Food was excellent, prices were reasonable compared to fish and chip shops in porthmadog town and Cricceth 👌 Watch your car in the car park though my car was reversed into and the driver made a speedy get away without leaving details 😡👊

Customers are expected to wear masks when visiting. You place your order through one window then collect your order at another window. All customers are encouraged to maintain two metre distance away from each other. The fish and chips are a reasonable price. Staff are friendly and helpful. Food was of a high standard and tasted great.

Awful. Unpleasant staff, very slow. Food really poor, so greasy you could wring it out like a sponge. Soggy chips, tasted like very old oil. Cash only - it's 2020, no excuse, and with Covid-19 Contactless payments should be priority. Given 1 month out of date mayonnaise. Expensive for what it is, avoid.

We went for drinks in the evening as other places were full. Table service was in place although it was fairly slow. Was set up more as a cafe than somewhere for drinks. If I'd gone in midday for food then I would have given this place a higher review, however I'm reviewing it based on the purpose of my visit.

Tasty, well priced Fish and Chips that are conveniently close to the Black Rock Sands beach. Make a quick stop there before, during or after you visit the beach-you won't be disappointed :) There is limited parking out the front, and a number of spaces behind the store. Parking is free. On a side note, there is also a convenience store next door which sells all manner of goods, including some beach accessories etc.

Lunchtime. 11th July 2020 Appalling chips. Worst Ive ever had. Incredibly soggy with greasy and cold as well. Looked like they had been cooked several,days before and then heated up again.

Mini fish and chips was very enjoyable. Surprised how large the mini fish was. Staff were helpful and friendly. Large car park around the back makes parking very easy. Prices were very reasonable. Will use again. A+++
