The Schoolrooms in Sheffield

visited 15th may 2025 Lovely setting and restaurant, food was great reasonably priced, we were seated upstairs in a small room to the left, just a couple of niggles, The chairs seemed a little low for the table, and the bench seat was too high to be comfortable. With it being a small room, we were very close to the next table, luckily no one was seated there but it would have made us uncomfortable had there been people seated. Just wonder why other diners feel the need to shout across the table when they are only a couple of feet away, but thats just other people being inconsiderate, nothing to do with the restaurant. Beautiful spot, nice menu. Ordered quiche after being told it was tomato + basil, it clearly wasn't, more like goats cheese but the accompanying salad was excellent. Then ordered carrot cake which was very dry + tasteless. Disappointing as the location is stunning + staff very friendly despite being super busy.

Visited on Saturday 12th April, a sunny day. The restaurant was extremely busy but surely they would know not to take more bookings than they could handle - it seems not. Our table was booked for 12.30pm but at 2pm we were still waiting to be served. We all chose different meals varying from Quiche, Flatbread, etc. but all were served with a handful of vegetable crisps on the plate - very odd. We did not stay for dessert being exhausted from the whole experience. Would I go again - no.

Everything was perfect from start to finish. The staff were friendly and attentive. The food..wow! French onion soup, sunday lunch and sticky toffee pudding. Not sure I'll have a better lunch again. I will definitely be back

Para el Día de la Madre decidí invitar a mi mamá y a mi abuela a un té por la tarde en las Salas de la Escuela. En primer lugar entendí que era una tarde ocupada y me dijeron que esto estaba afectando el tiempo de servicio, sin embargo, no excusa la calidad de la comida que recibimos. Para empezar los bocadillos estaban en el pan cortado más grueso, algunos todavía con costras puestas, así como luego sin apenas relleno (como se muestra en la foto, esta era la mayonesa de huevo). La rebanada de quiche fue una linda sorpresa, sin embargo la base de pastelería todavía estaba cruda. Los bollos estaban duros y los pasteles sabían como si hubieran sido comprados, por ejemplo, la esponja victoria no era crema fresca, era crema de mantequilla. Por último, al llegar a casa y revisar el menú me di cuenta de que nunca recibimos las patatas fritas vegetales que también estaban incluidos. Fue una lástima que el té de la tarde no cumpliera con las expectativas, ya que estábamos realmente deseando que llegara, especialmente después de reservar con semanas de antelación y pagar depósitos.

Nice cosy cafe, relaxed atmosphere and great cakes. The Veggie burger needs changing though please. It did not taste good, rather bitter and it was a crumbly consistency. I eat Veggie burgers everywhere, ranging from vegetables in breadcrumbs to fake meat, beetroot, cauliflower, bean burger, moving mountains etc. I had to leave this one half eaten (I never leave food) Coffee and cake was great!

Pub grub, menú limitado, comida simple, no es genial. Decoración de nuevo bien, pero definitivamente comprado a granel. Si te gusta el pub grub está bien son otros lugares cercanos con menú más extenso, mejores alrededores, mejor comida.

Mi madre y yo fuimos a tomar el té de la tarde y nos encantó! El personal era increíble y la comida era tan buena! El té de la tarde fue uno de los mejores que he tomado!

Fue a tomar el té de la tarde. Los sándwiches eran sándwiches de dedos que eran sabrosos. Vino con ensalada y quiche. Había bollos con crema y mermelada y una selección de rebanadas de pastel. Fuimos atendidos por Maddie G que era muy servicial y atento. Ella organiza una ensalada separada para nuestra hija debido a las necesidades dietéticas. El ambiente y el servicio era de primera clase. Lo recomiendo encarecidamente. Esperamos volver y probar otros menús que ofrecen. Gracias.

A mí y a mi marido nos encanta este lugar, es nuestro destino si nos apetece un pequeño placer. En primer lugar, está en el hermoso pueblo de Bradfield y es un edificio precioso que se ha hecho recientemente con buen gusto. Siempre hemos disfrutado de la comida aquí y usted recibe una porción generosa también! El café es bueno y hay una muy buena selección de pasteles. El personal es siempre amable y nunca hemos esperado mucho para nuestra comida, incluso cuando están ocupados. Recomendaría un paseo por el hermoso Frasco Dam o Embalse Agden mientras estás aquí para hacer un buen día de ella.

La comida y el servicio eran de primera clase. Recomendamos encarecidamente este establecimiento. El personal es muy amable y servicial.

Visitando esta encantadora zona de Lower Bradfield y regresando a un encantador renovado Schoolrooms. En general, gran experiencia, personal atento encantador y gran desayuno tenido por todos!

Por alrededor de £ 10. 00 more Puedo sentarme en un entorno lujoso en mi restaurante local, Mcgilverays en el Wortley Arms en Wortley Village y tomar un delicioso y delicioso desayuno o almuerzo y ser servido por un encantador personal sonriente y eficiente.

El servicio y la comida muy bien con lo que no estábamos de acuerdo era con el cargo por servicio en nuestra factura que pensamos que era muy alto que debería ser hasta los comensales lo que dan propina y no se sienten obligados a pagar lo siento, pero por esto no recomendaríamos a los amigos

This place had gone down hill in a big way. Had fish and chips for £17 and the fish was disgusting. Hardly any fish but lots and lots of batter that was rock hard. I’ve been here lot of times in the past but never again.

We have been here a few times and always experienced fantastic fresh food, wonderful attentive staff and lovely decor and surroundings. Yes it can get busy but this is because it’s so lovely. Prices are appropriate for the quality of food. I can’t really understand some reviews that have been left.

We were very disappointed with our meals. For the price we were expecting something special. The staff were very polite but we had to ask 4 times for a jug of water which took over an hour to arrive. The bar area which is tiny was crammed with people making it very difficult to communicate with the staff. Wherever you stood in the bar area you felt you were in the way of staff trying to get through. The music was so loud we had to keep asking for it to be turned down. Other diners were also complaining about the music. Overall not a great experience, had much nicer meals elsewhere for a lot less.

Budget graded bacon not much of it with low value bread bun Very disappointed for this kind of establishment. They need to use better produce not low value low cost to make more profits by selling higher. Certainly be more generous on the portions. Seriously my bacon bap is better value at Greggs. Hopefully this feedback will be constructive.

Second visit and again did not disappoint! Friendly staff, relaxed atmosphere, delicious food and THE BEST cocktails!!

Love the new decor of the restaurant. Delicious food and great service. Good choice for children which was a reason we visited as had my 5 year old nephew for the day. Thank you.

Today’s lunch was exceptional. We had the steak and ale pie from the specials board. The pie is delicious with a lovely crust and plenty of meat. The fat chips are delicious especially with the extra gravy. Service is very friendly and efficient and we are looking forward to going back to try the Supper Club.

Called while walking and it's an unexpected find. The car parking is good and the entrance is flat. There is both inside and outside seating with umbrellas. It's dog friendly. The welcome was warm and it's spotlessly clean as are the loos. We had a fish finger sandwich, it was first class, beautiful fresh bloomer bread thickly sliced and crispy battered fish finger filling in a good portion served with lovely coleslaw and salad with a nice balsamic dressing. Absolutely excellent. The drinks were very nice and served good and hot. The menu is varied and changes during the day but varies from breakfast to cream tea. You may have to book cream tea so be sure to check in advance for that. The service was friendly and efficient. We will go back.

We were a party of 5. It took that long for the waitress to serve us we ordered drinks and food at the same time. The food was delicious. We had starters, mains and dessert. When asked if we wanted more drinks we just had water. (The cocktails we had weren’t that cold so didn’t want to order again !). The glasses from the first drinks stayed on the table throughout the whole meal, and were still there when we left!! It wasn’t even that busy. Asked for tomato sauce and was given a bottle that was nearly empty. So had to ask for more. Waitress took ages to return and when she did there was about a tablespoon full in a small dish. Expected better service due to how expensive it was. Couldn’t fault the food but the overall evening was let down by the service

£9.00 for beans on toast - absolutely ridiculous, quite absurd. £12.20 with an americano coffe. Quite absurd, don't know how they've got the cheek to charge that !

Very disappointed with the meal, over cooked quiche and the salad and coleslaw was poor. It was very expensive as well. The surroundings were very nice, but if you have mobility problems there isn't much room downstairs and there are a lot of stairs to claim to the upstair restaurant.

Visited with friends for our monthly meal out together. The Wednesday/Thursday evening menu is really good value; 2 courses £19, 3 courses £24. The quality of cooking is excellent and the service is friendly and relaxed. We will going here a lot in the future.

Recently extended/refurbished to an excellent standard. We have eaten here on many occasions for lunch and also in the distant past when they had bistro nights and it was excellent. Unfortunately this time the food was poor, being overcooked although members of our party who had soup and pie were pleased with their choice. It is not cheap so on reflection I wouldn't return.

We discovered this little cafe a few years ago and have been regular customers, usually opting to sit upstairs or on a sunny day, outside so our child can play on the little play frame. It’s always been a bit hit and miss for good service, but they are often very busy here and we’ve never minded, but the last few visits we’ve been left feeling disappointed. The menu seems to have gone up a lot in price, and the portions aren’t very big at all. £12 for a fish finger sandwich that doesn’t even come with chips, I mean it’s just extortionate really. We ordered 2 sandwiches, 2 soft drinks and a kids sandwich and it came to over £35, which is just a ridiculous amount for some lunch in a cafe. I can only imagine we paid for the beautiful views, which yes it is in a lovely setting but I don’t think that quite warrants the price. The service is usually slow and they’ve now gotten rid of the gift shop which is a real shame as that was one my reasons for visiting. It’s a shame really as it’s always been such a firm favourite but from now on we will stick to one of the pubs or take a picnic into Bradfield, it’s really just not worth the money

We have eaten too many times to count. Mainly for breakfast. Never had a negative experience. Always busy. Even more so recently. Which is brilliant and considering the building work/renovations going on. Debbie and the staff and excellent. With the bristro opening soon, this place is going to boom.

Enjoyed visiting the schoolrooms to look at the newly refurbished cafe and whilst here enjoyed a lovely piece of cake and brew with family that were visiting from up North. Schoolrooms is a lovely place to visit after a stroll around Low Bradfield and can’t wait to try the bistro when it opens.
